We didn't get wet feet today fortunately. We did make a quick find surprisingly. It's a beautiful place to visit thanks for bringing us here logged with permission from the CO. Container removed to return to CO.
Lots and lots of sea salad near GZ. Finding the cache took us a little while but the hint helped narrowing potential hiding spots. TFTC
First stop on the way south for the weekend with Pagenz and managed to keep our feet dry with our trusty gumboots. No problems in locating the cache. Thanks
While in the area after another attempt on the Sentinel with KayGeeDee we decided that we'd try and clean up the other caches we had left in the area. With a bit of luck we managed to find all the caches we attempted, which made it a very successful day. Thanks to the CO's for the hides.
No wet feet today, and it didn't take to long to locate though trying to get the log out took a fair bit of time. With a little patience it was eventually freed. Thanks for the hide.

Sadly a DNF first up on our dog walking mission around the area to pickup a few we still hadn't found yet. GPS was a little wonky so a bit unsure on what flax bush exactly - to be perfectly honest I had no idea what I was looking for anyway! Came away with wet feet and smelling like sea lettuce but no cache! Will be back again for this one!
Its Mothers Day and as I had done the dutiful son thing yesterday I managed to have a free day, so with permission from the better half I had a morning free (with a promise to be home mid afternoon). So with that in mind it was time to hit the area and see what I could scrounge up in a bit of a clean out between Waihi and Te Puna without too much work.
So Setting out at 6am (slept in) this was my ninth for the day as it had always been on the to do list. Thanks to all the cache owners that work to make this an enjoyable day out in the Autumn sunshine. All logs signed C&D or Cats&Dragons.
I recall when there was only the one cache in this area which seems so long ago. Having collected the caches in waihi that I was time to work my way down here. in the hunt for it yes I did get wet feet, took a bit to locate but got there in the end
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

#234. This is a very significant cache for me. From 1962 until 1965, my family lived in the property immediately above GZ, on the (then) poultry farm, owned by my parents. I was in my teens, and spent many happy hours down on this part of Tauranga Harbour, swimming, paddling our kayak, and making little roadways for our toy cars in the clay around the corner at GZ. The search for the cache started with the friendly tui chortling in the tree above, but it was proving difficult to spot anything in the gathering gloom. Finally Mrs W1nz (GB Leader) spotted the well camo'd cache, and before it got dark, we'd signed the log and left for the next leg of our road trip to Pauanui, Coromandel. Tftc willbuild. Hopefully, we might return in a few days to gather some more of your caches. A nostalgic fave point from me!
10.35am. Timed our walk to coincide with low tide so feet stayed dry. But there is a massive amount of decaying seaweed which made things very slushy underfoot. Ponged a bit too. Not long to fine the cache though.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

No longer head height and the clever camouflage required a little bit of a search but approached it from a different angle and all was revealed. TFTC.
Found this cheeky little bugger, nice camp job. Had a quick look last night in the dark but decided to try again in the day light.

This took me WAAAAYYYY longer than it should have. In fact, we were close to logging as a dnf. Went off to find the next one, but popped back for one last look, after a txt from a friend confirmed I was in the right spot. 2nd time back, we found it within minutes! Clever camo job here, to create a tricky little hide...well done. But I think I also took the hint too literally....wasn't as high as I was expecting...
2464 Aim today was to clear Kauri Point. Unfortunately I had 2 DNF. Tide was out so I took the long route. The only wet feet today was from the rain. Took me some time to spot.
Timed the tide just right today and the cache was soon in hand. The clue was what I needed TFTC
A cool hide walked the long way round as it was high tide and bingo.....spotted the cache straight away. TFTC
Headed out here this morning before high tide. Got to carparking area and low and behold 6 muggles and a dog having a good ole chin wag. I out waited them, and got my gumboots on only to look at my phone and see; no service....argh! not a great start to the series. Anyway I had read about these caches before leaving home and went on 'geosense', had a good wander to and fro, in and out, and around a bout... finally something caught by eye, (slighly lower than I was looking) and bingo!! Thanks for the adventure willbuild.
The date is a bit of a guess as I did this one a while ago.
Got here when the tide was low enough to get here with dry feet. TFTC

4.05pm - Another area where we have cached before and having what we thought was a good day with our finds. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), and Philip.Perry...
After successfully completing the Waihi-Paeroa section of the HRT, we were keen to carry on for more... Our focus was on more recent placements along the beach...
This one gave us maximum grief. We don't recall any of this CO's hides ever being micro, so this was a little unprecedented... And unnerving. We searched this way and that, looking here and there, then back to here. The sky began to darken as nightfall approached. It also rained a little, and we wondered if we would find this little blighter... Finally, Philip.Perry stood in the right position and the cache camouflage was contrasted against the blue of his sweatshirt. What a cunning hide! TFTC.

My 25th smiley today and this was a much trickier ordeal. It was getting dark, it was cold and wet but at least the tide was still out. We were searching this spot for quite some time and it was only once I'd reached out to the help desk that Squirrel got eyes on the cache and the search was over. Clever and simple at the same time. Cheers willbuild.

I parked up my caravan at Te Kauri Reserve to sign off some nearby caches. I visited Ongare Pt during a drizzling afternoon.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
No wet feet for me. Beautiful specimens of old pohutukawa though. Thanks for the placement Willbuild
Relaxing place..nice placement...quickly found..tide way out thanks for a great cache
Driving out here I wondered what the tide was doing - pulled up and yes of course it looked like full time - just my luck. Not far to GZ but managed to keep dry feet. Had to hunt for a little while but kept the hint in mind helped me spotted the sneaky cache. it certainly blended in well ! TFTC
Me and yodabeach junior had fun playing in the ice kingdom (tree). Joint FTF with mum. TFTC
Woohoo [FTF]!!! I was excited to see a blank logsheet! Saw this pop up last night but didn't feel like night caching. After picking the kids up from school this afternoon, I checked to see if anyone had logged this yet - nope they hadn't. So off for a drive we went.
Very peaceful at GZ - nice hint, even so it was well hidden to not be obvious. The kids had fun - signed the log for the eldest, bellbox.
We'll go and check the surf after this - see if the forecasted big waves are happening. Tftc willbuild.
