Found this cache today but I will never qualify for it

After attending a CITO at Coburg Lake this morning, Tiz13 and I headed down the Merri Creek collecting caches along the way. This was but one of our finds today.It might take me some time to qualify for this challenge.

well, given this is the significant hike challenge, we thought it best to make the finding a significant hike
so we parked at dight falls and made it a clean twelve-k loop
it was a nice walk along a nice creek soaking in the brunswick vibe
lunch at the greenie co-op completed the inner-city aesthetic

the challenge:
we love a good hike
and despite the melbourne base, we’ve done a bit of hiking in the high country
thankfully, enough of the treasures we’ve found have the right attribute for us to greenlight the checker

As I was riding this trail finding the Parkville caches, I stopped off at this one once again as I found that this was the cache and log book from the original Significant Hike Challenge and my name was already there but I did sign it again as it was a new challenge but the was at the time of signing it again, I only had 88.5 stars so I could not claim the find.
Many years on and now I'm ready to claim the find.

This is quite unbelievable I don’t qualify for this. I’ve done a huge number of multiday hikes in Australia but clearly they lacked either geocaches or attributes. Oh well, I’ll just have to do some more hiking and thanks to lying Shypossum, I’ve got a beautiful new pack. At least it won’t be wasted now.

Doubt that we will ever qualify for this but signed whilst in the area, just in case.

Wish I could log this as a find but for now, it is only a note with high hopes. Thanks.

50 years to the day after mankind made the most celebrated walk in history. [:o]

Well I am a long way off claiming a smiley for this one, but if I keep putting one foot in front of the other, it will happen.

Today I had one of those days where all work for the day was cancelled. I had some maintenance to do on a geocache in Carlton, so I figured I could do that, then explore some of my old haunts and find a few caches on my travels. It threatened rain all day but nothing significant was forethcomeing until after I was safely back in the car after about 5 hours of hiking around the area.

After hiking around the uni, I walked up the Upfield line and then across to the Merri Creek which I followed back into town. This is my old stomping ground and I used to walk this trail regularly when I lived here.

I qualify for this challenge, having found 26 caches above 1645 meters in altitude within Australia that have a total terrain rating of 101 stars.

Total terrain count is 173, but thats using the checker, which is still counting finds above 1325m, not 1435m like the cache listing says.

The actual find was super easy, I wonder why?

The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire once in Melbourne. So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space.
Today we were back where we finished on the Merri Creek Trail and any others in the vicinity.

Put my name in the log book today but with my home State's highest very significant hike to the top of St Mary's Peak in the Flinder's Ranges at only 1125 metres I will have to do some traveling.

This is just a 'we were here" log..... Project GC couldn't come up with even one cache. [xx(] And this is one attribute you'd hope the CO didn't overlook putting on a qualifying cache. Looks like we need to become full time hikers in higher country than the high country of Northern NSW.

Found the cache on a walk with Joolay and Smittengranny today. We are here for the Parkville Mega and wanted an early start on picking up the puzzles and challenges. Lovely area and we enjoyed the walk. I will check qualification and log my find with details. TFTC

Today Bill headed off with geono on their bikes to complete 2 of the many trails around the area.
This is one cache we can't complete but signed the log today.
Which he said it was a great day with good company. Enjoyed the day on his bike, the perfect way to cache in the city area.

Drove down from Bonnie Doon today and met up with Kittykatch, GrimRaider and Joolay to spend the afternoon together on our first caching expedition for the Parkville Mega Event. We had a great time and were lucky that the weather was so kind to us as we walked the Merri Creek trail signing caches that we hope to be able to log.
This cache was one that we signed but I need to do more work before I can convert this to a smilie. Thanks to all the COs involved. All logs were either signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers.

It appears to be Just a Trifling observation rather than a catastrophic muck up.
Expect only a typing mistake in the preamble.
The banana results often go well below 1475 in our numerous qualifications

Was checking to see if we qualify in preparation for our trip down to The Parkville Mega Event and noticed the project-gc checker tag looks like it is checking for 1435m elevation rather than 1325m as listed in the cache description.

Tag comment: GC6RN7J The Australian Significant Hike Challenge and the rules are as followed: Caches included: -Significant Hike Attribute set -Traditionals, Multis, Events and Letterboxes only. -Only caches in Australia -The terrain rating is 3 or more -The elevation of the cache listing must be above 1435m -No caches you've placed yourself

With the Mega fast approaching, it was time to go and check all the caches to make sure they are still in good condition. I was accompanied by The Morris for all the Mysteries, and rode solo for the rest. Grabbing the deadly treadlies we set of on what is really a lovely ride, well worth doing by bike.

I have found many significant hike attributes, but at the moment the height requirement is stopping my logging.
I will work towards it though.

Am I batshit crazy signing this log? After all, the significant hike to *this* cache included minor bloodshed! So what do I pretend?

As of now I have 0 points. If all goes like a gentle summer breeze I might get to something in the 90-102 point range when I reach 9 December. In case of foul weather, sleet, fog, ice cold rain in head wind it will be less. Even so, I will have gained some additional mountain experience - and lots of memories. And the mountains will still be there, for later visits.

I signed this one to be logged at a faraway later date. I was expecting to find a medium sized cache or it probably would have been a quicker find! TFTC!

A recent big day out on Mt Bogong and beyond saw us complete this challenge. We may have completed it earlier if some of the older caches had attributes but that’s just an excuse to get up a mountain or two after some more hides.
A run of the checker and it said yes so the output is below.
No real problems making the find at GZ other that an incoming call which went on for a bit and slowed up the search. TFTC.

It would seem that Josie is getting soft. 10k hikes may be "significant" for someone who hunts ingress portals.

Does a cache with an attribute HIKE >10km but not SIGNIFICANT HIKE count? I would have thought that a 10km hike is a significant hike.

Managed to get the FTF on the first version of this one, but had doubts I would have the time to get to this one before next week. Surely someone else would claim it? NOPE!! I was second to sign after a certain "B".

I thought this challenge was WAY to easy.

So I decided to make it a little harder for myself.

I set myself the goal of achieving it, but instead upping the elevation limit to say, 1435m.

Why 1435m you ask? Maybe its just for the [satisfaction](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Woodroffe) of knowing I can.

Glad to see some old geojunk is being put to good use, I'll be in the area soon to sign to log book.
