Found on a five day geocaching road trip to the Nelson, Buller, and West Coast regions. We traveled many kms, by car bike and by foot and found many great caches and explored many areas. Thanks to the various CO for the caches sites we visited that made our trip so great. Thank for the caches.
Came down this way to get an ad lab, so stopped off and grabbed the cache. Found it difficult to sign as log wet. Tftc
Back on the west coast and calling westport home for the next wee while having picked up work in the area. So time to turn all that green , yellow..
This one is a blue to a yellow turning that frown upside down..quick find tftc

Last cache of the morning before heading back to start to pack up. All good here. TFTC
Found after a walk in the domain. Not a very healthy specimen. Common in all NZ not just West Coast.
A walk thru the domain to get the caches in here. As this was close by I decided to grab this on the way. Took a little while to figure out which way to go. My map reading was not working. Once in general location found which tree it would be and had the cache in hand shortly after. TFTC
I'm in Westport for the long weekend. I haven't been here for a few years now so a geocaching visit is long overdue. Found it after a bit of a search. Not sure if description fully matches the hide but I got it in the end. TFTC, Biggles.
Day 10 of three weeks winter motorhoming in the upper half of the South Island. Enjoyed cycling on the trails on the outskirts of Westport today and picked up a few caches. Great day for it! Took longer than I should’ve to locate this one. There seemed to be quite a few hint items and I searched around every one of them! In the end I found it further into the bush than I was expecting to. #4128. TFTC.
parking a little tricky here. but guessed traffic was light this morning so parked half on grass
and half on yellow line.
soon found cache hide.

Went in the wrong direction to start. Once we sorted ourselves and believed the GPS it was an easy find. TFTC
Collecting some caches in and around the Domain whilst we had our morning coffee.
A quick find.

We had our best geocaching day ever, finding 31 caches on a sunny day cycling around and about Westport at our leisure and we had NO DNFs either! Thank you so much to the cache owners who have maintained their caches so well for our enjoyment. We learnt all sorts of interesting info and visited all sorts of intriquing places. Loving our time in Westport.
The cycle trails are great.
To save the agony of copy and paste, this is our main commentary and our subsequent logs will only detail any changes. And you have definately earned a fave from us bumandworker for all your hard work.
Cache is all good. TFTC, SWAG added.

Another classy find by my buddy, Jan. I struggled to spot it but she came up with the goods. Tftc.

Visiting and exploring the West Coast and its beautiful scenery during te Rā o Waitangi weekend. Thanks for hosting us Westport. We loved our time and will be back with lots more caches remaining to be found. TFTC bumandworker.
Nice quick find while staying in Westport suprising our friend for his 50th birthday.
Found with NZDi. We are staying at Carters Beach Holiday Camp as a base for a few days geocaching on the Wet Coast. Todays plan is to head to Greymouth picking up as many roadside PnGs as we can, with a few more interesting excursions thrown into the mix.
This is our fifty-sixth and final cache of the day, and was done as we returned from our trip to Greymouth and headed into town for some dinner. Due to the parking situation NZDi dropped me off as close to GZ as she could and started looping the block as I searched. It took a while to find but perseverance paid off.

*Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!*
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
Weather was quite bad again with several heavy showers of rain
*We soon had another good cache located after short walk!*

I had planned for today to locate and sign off a few caches around the Westport metropolis.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Luckily I read the description and did not even attempt to park nearby. Nice little walk and a quick find. TFTC!!
TFTC. Out on a caching day with Boyd. We found this with help from the previous logs. The hint is a red herring.
There was a little cluster of caches near the entrance to Westport that we had never got around to finding. Today was the day to rectify that problem. After finding the nearby cache in the domain we headed to find this one. There were a few hint items to check around but soon enough I spotted the correct one. All is in good order with this cache. The log was signed and returned as I had found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Tricky one, not a nikau to be seen but plenty of punga and cabbage tree. About 3 metres into the foliage the wee guy is there on the ground, tftc
Definitely in the bush, about 3 to 4 meters and under a dead fern tree though had a couple cabbage trees "palm trees" around it
Took a bit of searching around the palms but nothing, Kimbo came up gold when looking in a fern.
Out today in the area grabbing a few caches.

What my GPS puts me right in the middle of the park not anywhere near the welcome sign so I have no idea where I'm looking for it so looking under the big Rocks because that's another clue that was given and still can't find it
Actually found it there no we're we're I thought it would be just keep looking and you'll find it
Went for an evening walk from our motel to the Westport bridge and back. Picked this one up on the return tucked away amongst the bush, just a little way off reserve pathway. Previous logs helped make this a quick find. TFTC.
This was tracked down eventually, not at the base of what I thought it would be at. Look for the rocks folks. TFTC
Put a traceable in here this time. Good find among the pungas. Codie, Theo and Sarah.
(# 5443). Today is day 9 of my West Coast trip. Today I am traveling from Westport to St Arnaud. Main goal was the Brunner Peninsula Walk. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
DNF...
Coords pointed well off track and in the bush. I searched a bunch of cabbage trees, a bunch of tree ferns, and went through the bushes but did not come up with a find. I tend to give up easily on b&w caches though knowing that the coords are often not great. Don't know if it's the case here or not.

Have passed this sign a couple of times today but now its time to investigate it closer up. Parked Toby over there and ended up crossing the rail tracks before getting to GZ. No palms here but this cache is snagged and tagged. Cheers
Its off on another geotour this weekend with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby. We spent last Sunday in Nelson collecting the gemstones from the Museum Heist, so this weekend we are on a Geotour to the Westcoast with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, to return the gems. Early Saturday morning we went on another magical tour of Denniston. Great views today just after dawn. Enjoyed a walk along the Kawatiri River Trail.

Found the cache, but could not find any palms per the cache description. Next best thing though - tree ferns.
Taybeedragon and I headed out to the West Coast to figure out how to return the jewels taken from that big heist at the Teague-Ulmer Museum back into their vault. And I picked the West Coast to do that as there is a cache nearby that gives me the last hidden month for a NZ Jasmer. And on top of all that, it is the 50 year anniversary of the first men on the moon - Happy Moon Landing Day! While the rest of the country was bathed in glorious rain, we were stuck with sunshine and clouds. Oh, well, can't have it all.

Our travels lead us to your cache, as we travelled the northern West Coast/Buller, many thanks, bumandworker, for bringing us here. The majority of the team is walking the Old Ghost Road and the minority of the team is travelling to the ‘pick-up’ end, both with some caching to do … We’ve had great fun so far and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we all travel on our way. TFTC.
Loved this sign, which we spotted on our way into town. When we realised there's a cache here, we had to stop for it on our way back out. Busy place, but easy find. Signed as 'WW' and replaced as found. TFTC
Found this one while on a holiday away from our home in Whangamata. Thanks for the cache
A welcome short walk after breakfast for Mrs SoBad. Very welcome as she found SoBad had done the dishes while she was out. Took her longer to get back as she thought she had found a shortcut. Well at least she knows the way to another nearby cache for tomorrow.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Staying nearby so we wandered over to see if we could find the cache. It was soon in hand. TFTC.
We needed 13 more September finds for a challenge in the North Island so set off in the hopes of cleaning out Westport again. We DNFed this on the way into Westport and stopped again on the way back from Millerton before heading home. A very quick find by sheer luck this time. It was sitting on the ground not near anything. Mum returned it 30cm away against the base of a punga. Thanks for placing this cache for everyone elses enjoyment and for adding to our smilies today
No luck today.
Spent more than the regulation 10 minutes looking, couldn't see the wood for the trees.
Next time.......

We found the hint somewhat misleading, as we don't think of this tree as a palm, and the cache is not actually at the base of anything, however it didn't take too long to find it. TFTC
No luck with this one today.
Searched for ages all around the area, even went into the thick bush ,but no luck

Out for an evening walk with the GPS and this one came up , had to hunt for a while but Mrs.WW tracked it down. TFTC.
Out on an early morning caching run around Westport. Is that a palm? I must go and increase my botanical knowledge.[:o)] Well as this was the last Westport cache of this visit it is time now to go and hitch up my caravan and head inland out of the storm front that I can see approaching. Cheers B&W.
Spending a day around Westport town today picking up all the green boxes we haven't yet gotten to. This one has mocked us each time we drove past, so found a park and headed for the cache. Took a while wandering round and round the bush, but eventually it was spotted and signed off. tftc
#15021. After taking on provision in Westport (groceries, fuel, $s) it was time to look for a few caches. We had some unfinished business at the domain, so found a shady park next to it and walked back to this one. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on our week long post Christmas trip to Reefton and the West Coast. Day 3: Reefton to Karamea.
We parked by the domain and walked to GZ. Cache wasn't an instant find and there was a lot of thrashing around in the undergrowth. Once I was in the right area, the cache was quickly located. TFTC.

An evening stroll around Westport. Really should have left this until after going to the date lime final - the time taken finding a park, the paths and then the rummage ate into the twilight remaining.
Man that horse was standing quietly, I couldn't help but admire its patience. Oops, follow the GPS and not the eyes . Second cache for the day. Thanks!
We arrived at GZ and admired the horse across the road
Quick search around and it wasn’t we were signing the log
Thank you Sidewaze for the wonderful day Geocaching

Staying overnight in Westport and had time to find a few caches. Found after a short search, all in good condition. Signed log, TFTC
Disappointed not to find anything here. If right next to the track the gardening has been done. If further off the path I probably missed it. Hopefully back next week for another look.
Away for a few days holiday during the school break. In Westport for a couple days exploring. Aiming for a walk in Denniston this morning before heading for Nelson & family. Stopped here on the way past for a quick find and sign. Cheers!
Over at the bach for the long weekend and had some great weather. This afternoon was the exception 5 degrees and windy with skiffy showers. Thankfully this was a quick easy find as we are off tomorrow and I want my 3000th cache to be on the coast and this was it ! Thanks for all of your caches
