Tftc Team thommo. We climbed the tower and gathered the information required. Answer sent.We are now logging a find to celebrate Earthcache day.Very interesting information here , thanks for bringing us here
It feels like I've been doing a TeamThommo geology class lap of Australia. Side quest out to Broken Hill and Mungo NP before the school holiday makers flood the parks.Collecting a few quick caches enroute. Thanks TeamThommo for another excellent Earthcache!
Thanks for bringing me to such a nice place where the Darling meets the Murray. There is a lot to see here. I have sent my responses to the questions and have now logged a find.
The Murray Darling Basin. We climbed the tower on this cool winters day to check out the meeting of the two rivers. Can still see how high the water got to on the steps from the recent flood event. Thanks Team Thomson for this Earthcache Tftc
Found at the Wentworth Junction rally. What a fabulous event, visited on the Maggie May. TFTC.
Great location and earth cache or should this be a new category as water cache.Answers sent to COThanks TeamThommo for the cache.
This too is a place we visited very early in our caching time, but Earthcaches were probably a mystery to us as we taught ourselves the ropes.Today is was reasonably windy and the water quite ripply so observations were a bit difficult.A great place to visit and surroundings very nice.Answers sent.Today we headed out of town to Wentworth and then worked our way back through Merbein and surrounds to Mildura. It was a clear sunny day, but wind kept the temperatures down and at time we were greatful to be in the car. Some lovely scenery was encountered from desert like scrub through farming land and the banks of the Murray. We managed Earthcaches, a Wherigo, multis and trads as well as puzzles. We also encountered a number of great cache containers.A busy but enjoyable day.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache TeamThommo.**SKI Pair****
Turned around at Pooncarie due to road closures so giving Wentworth a more thorough look. TFTC.
We found your earth cache today 2 May 2024 4:00pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC TeamThommo
Found while having a look around the area today, staying in Mildura for the week. A great spot here to see the confluence, a great EC lesson too. Cheers for placing.Find #6930 on 17 Apr 2024.TFTC TeamThommo!
Richmond Lad and I are making our way to Broken Hill for a few days and before the drive north we stopped for a few caches around Wentworth and your EC was one. It certainly is an amazing confluence. Thanks.
Out and about travelling from Mildura to Broken Hill. Stopped by to do this Earth Cache. Answers sent to CO. What a great spot where the 2 big rivers of Australia meet!. TFTEC Team Thommo. Giving a FP for the location you have brought us too.
We stay another week in Adelaide and pick up some more caches Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU Tftc Team ThommoA fav point from me
On our way to the MEGA event in Adelaide, we stopped here for a rest and worked on the questions.Answers were sent to CO, and we got the okay. Tftc TeamThommo
Stopped here at this Earthcache for a rest on my travels. LOCI612 will send the answers for DARKSIDEDAN and Loci612 to the CO. Interesting location. I enjoyed climbing the tower and looking out across the waters. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
**This Cache**Enjoyed visiting this town and being able to stop by the river for this Earthcache, as it's the only one we found here! Awesome little lookout tower too, enjoyed climbing up to the top to get a good view of the confluence and basin! Wentworth reminds me of one of the best TV shows I have ever watched, which is actually Australian and called "Wentworth". However it is a fictional prison and is definitely not in this town nor based on this town or filmed anywhere near this town! Still cool though to make that connection! Thanks TeamThommo, answers sent & pic uploaded! ---**Today:**Day 1 of 2 of the trip back to Canberra! Renmark - BalranaldWe decided to take a long and tough route, specifically for a combination of old caches, an interstate Wherigo and an off the beaten track virtual cache! This involved hundreds of km's of dirt driving on Wentworth - Renmark Rd. Definitely not ideal in a very small 2WD car as we felt every bump, but at least the road was in good condition the entire way! We managed to get a handful of excellent caches and even finished the night with a bunch of brand new caches in Robinvale which was a bonus! A 12 hour day before we finally arrived at Shamrock Hotel in Balranald, where we enjoyed the best meal of the trip! A HUGE plate of Chinese for a great special price. Well worth ordering off the Chinese menu as they also did the standard pub meals but they were more far more expensive and likely more generic too! Thanks to the CO's
TFTC TeamThommo your cache Murray, Darling! Lk at the basin! that we found today we made our way south for Christmas. Today we headed to Wentworth for an overnight stop. A quick explore around town and a couple of caches.Answers have been forwarded to the CO. Great to see the Murray Darling flowing well here. Last time it was a lot lower.Find Count: 17302
Continuing my. I was disappointed not to be able to do the walk out on Junction Island. The footbridge is under major repair. So I headed here instead. I Gathered the information for this earthcache and took some photos to show the grandies when I return home. Interesting spot. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
Sydney to Adelaide Road TripDay Three: Around MilduraWeather: perfect!Answers have just been sent via the messaging system; a verdict pending. It must have been spectacular to be here at the height of the recent flood. See photo - the watermark on the trees is at least a meter above my head. Thanks for putting an Earthcache here Team Thommo. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
Needed to travel from Wollongong to Red Cliffs this weekend for my stepbrother's wedding. Also needed an Earthcache to earn a souvenir. And my wife works for the SES and wanted to see Lock 10. So, we headed here.I'd never seen the confluence, and was very happy to do so. Saw two Whistling Kites as well, so that's a bonus!Cheers
Found by The Empire + HOur journey began in Mildura, a city that had charmed us with its riverside beauty and vibrant culture. On a sunny morning, we set off, eager to explore the nearby town of Wentworth, nestled at the confluence of the Murray and Darling Rivers. The road to Wentworth followed the gentle curves of the mighty Murray River. As we drove along, the river's tranquil waters sparkled in the sunlight, and the scent of eucalyptus filled the air. It was a road trip with nature as our companion. As we arrived at GZ, our gaze first fixed upon the mighty Murray River. The Murray, often referred to as Australia's "food bowl," is the country's longest river, flowing more than 2,500 kilometers from its source in the Australian Alps. Its waters have nurtured communities, farms, and ecosystems for centuries.Alongside the Murray, the Darling River added its rugged charm to the landscape. Originating in Queensland, the Darling meanders through the Australian Outback before joining the Murray at Wentworth. Its journey is marked by dramatic landscapes, from arid plains to the vibrant Menindee Lakes.Answers sent, thanks for the earthcache TeamThommo.- MEarthcache #393
We were on our way to meet up with some geo-friends to do a bit of crazy caching in SA. Today was a day of sight seeing, finding some old caches and enjoying some interesting landmarks around the Murray. The EC was a great way to learn a bit more about the history and significance of this amazing location. There was a lot of water lapping at the bank and it must have been a sight to see during the recent floods. Thanks TeamThommo for another great Earth cache.

Found on a trip to Wentworth with nannynomad, MazzyMay and Joybell53. We needed an Earthcache for this months challenge and this was the closest to where we were staying. MazzyMay and I ventured to the top of the viewing tower. We had a look for the answers then sat and had lunch in this lovely spot. Answers sent to the CO. TFTC
What a privilege to stand at this landmark, two rivers which mean so much to both the indigenous communities and to our economy. Thank you for this cache.
Well we started in Bourke and have followed the (Baaka) Darling River all the way to here where it meets the Murray. What a wonderful adventure! Plenty of water around at the moment. Answers sent to CO TFTC

Staying in the area for a few nights and revisiting places not seen for 30+ years, so enjoying it all. Spent the day in Wentworth exploring the town again and looking at the results of the floods. So it made sense to look at this earthcache while here. Looked, gathered info and sent answers. Now logging the find.

Just realised that this one is well overdue for logging. Received permission to log quite some time ago after visiting the area while on holiday but had completely forgotten. Thanks for the cache TeamThommo.
Had a great weekend in Mildura.
Went and checked out all the flooded areas.
Amazing to see the flow here.
Almost looks like one huge river.
Collected some information and was on my way after a few photos.

This was on our list because I love this area. I've been up the tower a couple of times but today we were getting nowhere near it! We were able to answer the questions for the CO and permission approved (via budgietas message).
I'm in two minds, I hate seeing people suffering but the river systems must be thriving. All those trees that have been longing for a good drenching are finally getting it.
Thanks TeamThommo
We separated from Tassie Trekkers today with Budgie, SSR and I heading along the Murray toward Mildura and surrounds today. The high river levels prevented us from getting many of our chosen caches but we still found some good ones and enjoyed the day.
It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.

On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!
Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.
At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day
Thanks for the cache.

Staying at Wentworth we visited this location to make our observations. The rivers were in flood and the viewing platform unreachable. However we could see there was a distinct difference in colours - accentuated by the floods. Many thanks TeamThommo for creating this earthcache and highlighting this location.

Border hopping weekend day #2:
Collecting some caches across South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria inbetween the 20 years of Geocaching celebration events in Berri, Wentworth and Irymple consecutively.
I started caching in 2020... so if these events had been then I wouldn't have gone. So I'm glad to be here for the journey.
I can only stay the weekend due to work, one night in Berri and one in Mildura. So I'm doing as many caches as I can inbetween events... so many caches and so little time.
This cache high on the priority list given its interesting lesson and location.
Answers have been sent.
A favourite point allocated!
99 total finds for the trip. 42 traditionals, 2 multis, 7 mysteries, 3 virtuals, 2 letter boxes, 1 EarthCache, 3 community celebration events, 1 event and 1 CITO. As well as 37 Adventure Lab locations.
Thanks TeamThommo for this EarthCache.
This cache brings Goldy's total find count to 1497.

Big weekend on the road! Overnighted in mega town (Murray bridge) after chasing some large caches for a challenge I have been working on for many years. Also made it to 4000 cache finds
Picked up CPWanderer and gizmos gang bright and early to get to Berri fir Brekky, Wentworth for lunch and back to Mildura for dinner. Then another Brekky and a cito the following day. Well that’s the plan anyway.
We are picking up whatever caches we can on the way, over 300 to chose from the CP hasn’t found and probably the odd one he has (that doesn’t include the PS series) which will have to wait to return
Answers have been sent by CPWANDERER after great consideration and discussion at GZ. It really was obvious with my Polaroid sunglasses on.
Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

A JAMS weekend away was organised so that we could attend the tri state celebration eventsa plus a couple of other events and a CITO over the two days. We had a very early start and arrived at the Berri event only a half an hour after it started. After a coffee and some catching up we headed east over to Wentworth for the next event and a few caches along the way. More catching up, an AL and a visit to the sandhills, then on to Merbein for a couple of new AL's and more caching between there and Mildura. On to the 5pm event with lots of snags and slices that went down very well. Then a night cache before heading to Euston for the last event of the day. Only had time for a drink there, then found 3 caches and finally headed to our accommodation in Gol Gol. Slept very well, then up and about making our way to the breakfast event and more catching up. Found a few gadget caches before the CITO, picked up some rubbish and then started our drive home. Still managed to get a few caches along the way.
All in all a great weekend with thanks to all the CO's and organisers of the events.
Made our way to this EC, had a discussion about the answers to the questions which will be sent to the CO.
Thanks for the cache TeamThommo.

The water level is currently way higher than when i was here last about 4 years ago, did the nearby multi while we where here too and the lab stage. One of the JAMS ladies will send the answers for the team. Nice location. fav point.
The JAMS crew ( all 5 of us this trip JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, Michells&hound plus Sir_Spectre ) where headed to the 3 Community Celebration events in 3 states in one day plus a side trip down Euston
( it's only 55 km from our B&B one way ) for another geocaching event then a brief sleep. Then another geocaching event before Michells&hound hosted a CITO event in NSW. Of course there was time for finding of finding caches over 60 in the first day. Thanking those co for placing them and extra, extra thanks for the co for placing the gadget/field puzzle/creative caches. I left some fav points to let you know to keep up the good work. The way home was longer than getting there since we stopped and solved/stamped some multi's and off set letter box hides. Another good weekend away for us.

I visited this earthcache on a week-long caching trip over to NSW and Victoria from Adelaide with gridge98.
Our main targets were the wherigo and challenge cache series’ around the Yass and Goulburn areas, although we also found quite a few other Unknown, multi, letterbox, virtual and traditional caches of interest along the way. We even managed to attend an event at Sutton and did a couple of caches just over the border in the ACT.
The middle of winter around the shortest day was probably not the best time to schedule our trip, particularly as we were camping. But despite a little bit of rain one night and sub-zero temperatures on another, the weather wasn’t too bad, albeit on the cloudy and cool side.
In all we covered about 3,300 km over the week and managed almost 350 finds each.
Thanks TeamThommo for an interesting earthcache.

I visited with a friend last week and was amazed at the difference between the 2 rivers at the junction.
My friend, who is a local, commented that she has never seen the river so high as it currently is.
I took a photo from the lookout to attach and thankyou for an interesting earth cache

Absolutely loved visiting the spot. The Darling is flowing strongly which made the confluence very clear. After spending the afternoon looking at the sights in Wentworth, we beelined to Foster in South Gippy. Got there at 1.30am… big day
Favourite point added here.
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
TeamThommo, I found Murray, Darling! L k at the basin! today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

I’m having this week off as others at work had the Easter break off so it was my turn and another trip up North to Mildura was planned.
I was able to leave Melbourne nice and early to get a few caches in on the way up to Culgoa.
So after a great feed and a couple of beers and of course great accomodation at the Kaneira Hotel I headed up towards Mildura to see how many I could find in the Paddle Steamer series.
I managed to find 115 and 165 in the last couple days but the uni joint in my right knee has finally said enough is enough with all of the getting in and out of the Geocruiser so it is time to spend a casual day around Mildura.
I got up nice and early to attend the Dawn Service at the park and it was great to see so many people there paying their respects.
After a wander around town and then completing the Turtle series which was the second reason why I came back up to Mildura it was time to keep my wandering around.
I crossed the mighty Murray river and I’m now wandering around Wentworth and surrounds.
On my trips away lately I always seem to come across a TeamThommo earth cache that I really enjoy researching and finding out the answers to.
Great to see plenty of water in both rivers at the moment.

Found on our school holiday break. Our car is having issues so muggle mark had to stay in the car while it was running. I climbed the lookout. It was very interesting to see the meeting of the rivers. I’m guessing this is where the Darling ends. Wonder why they couldn’t have said this is where the Murray ends. Answers sent. Tftc.
After going to the junction of the Murray and Murrumbidgee yesterday this was a natural detour today.

Out for a pre-Easter road trip with the family. Not a geocaching trip but I managed to talk my wife into doing a couple of EC’s today.
We wanted to head to Wentworth to see where my grandfather had been born. I was curious to see the confluence of the Murray Darling rivers as well so headed straight to see it.
A nice easy few answers were collected while the kids played on the nearby playground.
Beautiful spot which I’m glad we came to see.

Travelling home from Broken Hill with Kelligula and decided to take a break and complete this cache. What a lovely area, we had no idea this was in Wentworth. TFTC
#13039 - 3:40:00 PM; Day 4 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. Made it to Mildura last night and after a good feed and a good night's sleep, "The Turtle Series" was our major target today. After spending most of the morning on that series, I caught up with family for lunch and some family business, before heading over the river for the rest of the afternoon in and around Wentworth. Found most of the caches we had on the 'to do' list, with a couple of DNFs as well. I'm surprised we hadn't logged this one on our previous visit to this interesting location, but then again we were just passing through! Gathered the information which Sdl sent off to the CO who gave the OK. TFTE TeamThommo
After a couple of great days in and around Wang at the Mega, followed by a drive to Echuca, LuckyL10n and I were now in Mildura. LL has some business to attend to, however with time before and after meetings we set on the path of the 'Turtle' and other caches that we passed by.
This afternoon we headed out to Wentworth to check out a few caches....as well as checking out the confluence of the two rivers. Quite amazing to see the river meet, with the definite different colours of the water. Answers sent off to the CO and the all clear to log was received.
Thanks for the earthcache TeamThommo....a very neat spot to visit. Fav point added.

Great location for a spot of lunch. The kids loved the playground whilst the wife enjoyed the shade the trees offered
We arrived in Curlwaa yesterday, and after a morning working, we rewarded ourselves with a trip out into the countryside. We had planned on having an afternoon picking up around twenty to thirty caches, but as we checked out the news, we realised that Victoria might be closing the border. Much and all as we love being in New South Wales, we do not want to be stuck there indefinitely so we decided to grab this and a couple of other caches and then make the dash across the Murray. Before the dash we made the quick detour to observe the confluence of the mighty Murray and Darling Rivers. The answers had to be obtained from previous experience and a nearby information board as the rivers were so still that all we could see was reflections. Thank you TeamThommo for taking the time and effort to create this Earthcache.
Hi there, I have sent my answers, but don’t feel confident i nailed the quiz. Enjoyed my visit here. Pretty amazing place and very peaceful. TFTC.
Visited with MummyPenny on the southern leg of our mini road trip. Loved the relics, the wonderful views of the mirror-smooth waters and learning a little about these great rivers. Thanks for the lesson and quick confirmation TeamThommo.
Couldn't wait to get to this meeting of the great rivers!
And it didn't disappoint, such a lovely place.

Late this afternoon we visited Wentworth and while in the area, collected information for this earthcache. We climbed the observation tower which gave us a much better view of where the two rivers joined. Answers to the questions have been sent to the CO. A photo is included with this log. Thanks TeamThommo for another interesting earthcache.
The water colours vary because of water flow variants and silt, soil types upstreams
At the moment the water has a lot of blue green algae and the land in between has recently encountered a fire
