Our stage today takes us from Kaikoura to Picton. On the way we see sea lions again, many wineries, unusual stones and trees and great beaches. The caches also take us to places we would not have otherwise visited. This way we explore the area and can turn some caches into friendly smileys. A big thank you to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
On a road trip with Net61 exploring Kaikoura and finding as many caches as we can. Quick park and grab on our way to lake Grassmere while being watched by cows in the nearby field. TFTC
After a dnf last time out looking for this cache we found it in 5 seconds flat this time Tftc
After a enjoyable morning doing stuff around blenhiem with my mother asked if there was anything I wanted to do for the afternoon and even joked about going down to kaikoura. Remembering that I had a jasmer down that way I had a look at the map and asked if we could go for that. Well she said yes and so off we went picking up caches along the way. I found plenty on the trip but mum was happy with her 10 as she had previously cached this area out. TFTC
The kids and I spent a while looking for this one, climbing up on the benches, crawling around on our hands and knees. Looked high and low to no avail. Will return again another day. Hopefully, it is there somewhere!
**20,155**Thankfully no school at the moment, thus no one sheltering here. Found after a short search and then a nice spot to sit and sign the log. TFTC
Time for the annual Earthcache souvenir. I considered bringing Bumblebee out for the one on Ward beach but the logistics of gear change and storage while walking meant the geomobile won out. While getting the information for it I took the opportunity to dig for a couple of dead hides with no luck, just some thorns, scratches and blood. I had to stop here to guarantee a find for today. Easy here, with a crouch, pause and grab.
Heading back to Blenheim after seeing the grown up kids in Christchurch this weekend. Had plenty of time to stop and grab. Quick stretch and sign. Thanks for the smiley.
On our way north we pulled over for a break here, and Mrs nzk was pleased to see there was a cache nearby. A quick find as no one was around. All good here, TFTC Kiwimykl.
We've passed this cache many times but always on a tight schedule. As we are not catching the Interislander today we had time to stop and find the cache. TFTC.
Bus shelters in all countries and cities and along the roads any where in NZ .

A beautiful sunny day travelling from marfells beach to Blenheim. Found this got a bit dustyThank your for the hide. Also liked the hint.
We were in NZ on a holiday hoping to spend a bunch of time geocaching; however, we ended up in ISO due to positive COVID tests! Once our mandatory isolation was over we were able to travel a bit and grab some caches on our trip. This cache was on the to do list for today. Cheers and TFTC.

Just off to Marfells Doc camp and thought why the heck not look and see if there is a cache nearby. Already had another one on the road in. A bit trickier than some bus shelter caches. TFTC
Stopped in our almost bus (campervan) to let mrs rattll off and make the find.
Thanks for putting this here

Heading for a delayed ferry today with plenty of time on my hands. What better to do than pick up a few extra caches en route? Stopped pretty much alongside this one and a quick search turned up the goods! #5004. TFTC.
Heading to Blenheim and the Picton on the final leg of our South Island road trip. It has been fun finding all the different caches around. TFTC.
Out again with BaldEd today but we decided to blast the area East of SH1 between South of the Awatere River and Lake Grassmere.
It was not where we expected it to be.
Cheers for the cache.

Cheers for the cache.
Out with Tufty on Day 3 of our Awatere Valley geocache raid. Having just emerged back onto SH1 from the eastern end of Lake Grassmere we just had to go seek this. The cache was so hidden in plain sight that we both looked everywhere else, unsuccessfully, then we spotted it laughing at us.[B)] We suspect some children had found it and not replaced it properly. Now hidden in a more regular place. Cheers Kiwimykl.
Time for a wee family summers holiday; Kaikoura, Picton and Nelson.
Heading towards Picton now....Just grabbing a few caches along the way. Nice one. Thanks.

Found while on our way home from an awesome trip through Molesworth Station
Having a few days at Marfell’s Beach … so time for some caching. A quick sortie along the road to ‘knock-off’ those we hadn’t done on previous visits. Collected your smiley, many thanks for the cache.
Lol blonde look first. Took himself to walk in and find it straight away. Mind you he had seen where I had been looking first. Lol
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located, now onto the next one!*
No problem here - original container found within seconds in usual place!

I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

A great 2 weeks of travelling the south island it's been amazing great weather only 1 half day if wind and rain nearly 500 caches found over the time incredible views tftc a quick find here I thought I had it sorted by the hint prior to approaching and yes I didnt but then it was an ahha moment tftc great place and area to explore hope to visit again the Sourh Island soon. No muggles around only traffic zooming by none caring what I was up to tftc signed the log and placed it back exactly where I found it.
Heading up north for a few days, had a great drive up to Blenheim today 60 caches for the day, road busy and foggy in places. Thanks to all the caches placers - Bitsprayer
Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Still there are routes and places in this beautiful country that are on the 'discover-me' list and want to be visited and explored. .
Starting from Kaikoura, this day (#21) was dedicated to drive up north to Blenheim along the beautiful, scenic route #1 at the coastline [^] - a new experience .
The weather was again blessed with blue skies
Was happy to visit quite a few geo-treasures that seamed the route - just like this one:
I felt sheltered and relieved as I had found the little treasure [:o)].
May the invisible force be with you !
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and maintaining this cache and best regards from Germany!
