Unsuccessful today. Great viewpoint however! Hoping to see the lupines but I think we missed peak bloom!
We came,
We looked,
We looked again,
We looked some more,
We sighed,
We surrendered,
We decided the cache is no more
We reluctantly log a DNF

We drove up here after visiting Lake Alexandrina today. We enjoyed the great views from GZ but couldn’t locate the cache, only finding a likely hiding spot and some scattered rocks.
Während einer Wanderung zu den weißen Klippen kamen wir auch hier vorbei und ich habe den Cache gefunden und geloggt. Danke dafür und Grüße aus Deutschland.
During a hike to the white cliffs we also passed by here and I found the cache and logged. Thank you for that and greetings from Germany.

Quick grab but lingered stop for the beauty. Clouds opened up to give a framed glimpse of a snow capped peak. TFTC
We have a nice day along the Lake Tekapo and Mount John. I did Mt John's Walkway circuit and than grab the car to Lake Alexandrina. TFTC
This is the end of the road for us, and a campervan is pulled over. Whilst I sit on the rock taking pictures and signing the log, another muggle arrived! It's a party! Everyone looks like they are leaving? Amazing view, thanks.

Cache was easily found on the way to Lake Alexandrina. Beautiful views from here. Replaced the old one with another eclipse container as the lid was broken and it was all rusty. TFTC.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up at the NZMCA Campsite at Lake Tekapo for a couple of days, exploring in & around the local area … saw this cache positioned out towards the end of the Tekapo Peninsula Walkway & rather than treat it as a ‘park’n’grab’, we decided that we would walk The Tekapo Peninsula Walkway Track & pick it up on the way round … found this one with no issues, signed log & replaced … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,326 for us.
Found on a day trip to tekapo with farmerkeith. Easy find. Thanks for taking us up this road great view
Used to live in Tekapo in the early 90’s and never made it up this side of the lake. Found with Conbat. TFTC!
Ok Mt John road was closed so having to take the alternative route. But we are here so lets check out Glenmore. Left our calling card here. Cheers
Day 3 - Wednesday 22 December - Lake Pukaki to Timaru, Ashburton. We cached around Tekapo this morning. Mt John road was closed so walked up from the lake. Then headed to Timaru for some TMGT and PWGT. Left aafter dinner to spend the night in Ashburton
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

Convenient place to park while enjoying the stunning view and looking for the cache which I soon had in hand. TFTC.

We stopped here and found the cache (quickly) before going on the loop of the peninsula walk, with magnificent views of the lake and mountains. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC!
We are camped at Tekapo and left our cat Coco guarding motorhome lol. Off we went in Suzy to explore.
A beautiful drive coming here, loved the views.
Great place to stop, find cache and take more photos.
Thanks for this cache Two Sharpe.

We are enjoying a short break in Lake Tekapo. Parked up, found the cache and then went for a walk along the nearby loop track. A cold, blustery day but the views were still good. TFTC.
Found on a pleasant drive along this quiet road today. Cache and views all good. TFTC
GSEL has reverted to his other passion (ornithology), so it fell to me to look around for this little treasure. Eventually we both found what we were looking for! TFTC.
#9412. I am on a South Island road trip with Infoferret over the Easter break. We have travelled here from Christchurch via Hanmer Springs, Lewis Pass, Reefton, Greymouth, Haast Pass, Wanaka, Cromwell, Queenstown and Twizel. The main purpose of the trip is to locate the PWGT geotour caches but I still have some TMGT caches to get. We are also interested in finding Virtual caches and a few earthcaches but are happy to stop for traditional caches if they are on the way and we still have time. Stunning fine weather and scenic views today but its extremely windy.
After travelling to Burkes Pass to get the PWGT cache we returned here to Lake Tekapo. I was keen to do some bird watching in this area and set up the telescope to look out over the lake and wetland. IF wandered around and soon found the cache nearby. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks TwoSharpe for hiding this cache here. Really enjoyed this spot. Made better soon after when we drove down by the wetland and I saw a pair of black stilts (kaki) feeding along the water edge not far away. Favourite for the scenery and the birdlife in this area.

Really pleased to have stopped here, but the wind was so strong it was impossible to take a steady photo!! It took 2 of us to keep the car door attached... Hats off to the people who live and work in this amazing, stark landscape TFTC
High wind station took a while to open the car door blasted across to the cache TFTC
A New Years Day caching mission as we walked around Lake Tekapo and the Mount John Observatory.
A quick find.

After starting our honeymoon down in Queenstown a couple of days ago, we drove up to Tekapo yesterday to do some exploring up this way too. We had a good sleep in, found some breakfast at our hotel and it was then time to check out the area and grab the local caches.
We had plans to drive up to check out Mt John Observatory but noticed the road up was shut on Wednesdays (and it looked like a big walk!), but then spotted this guy off in the other direction so decided we'd give it a go.
After waiting for some muggles to depart GZ, it didn't take us long to find the goods. Thanks for the hide, and what a cool view

Day 9 of our Sth Island (substitute for Seattle) trip. Today it's Timaru/Tekapo. After driving up Mt John the lure of a couple of caches had us heading up this road. Thanks for bringing us on this scenic drive we would never have done if there was no cache.

#273 weekend trip from Christchurch has going well and we found some time for caching.tftc
Such great views around! Thought I had all the caches in the area downloaded offline but unfortunately not. Was still able to find this easy enough though when you spot a suspicious pile. Tftc!
An enjoyable weekend enjoying the scenic McKenzie area, and finding some great caches along the way. TFTC
Out doing a few caches with Aussie Pete and Kiwi Heather. You know its a windy day when you struggle to open the door of the vehicle just to get out and look for the cache. The met service did warn us it was going to be gale force winds in exposed places and they were right. Great view from inside the vehicle though. TFTC
This cache had been one of those niggly 'see it on the GPS on the way past, but it's really a bit far for a quick detour' caches for a while. But we had a bit of time, and decided to go for a drive. It's a pleasant side trip. Wasn't in the place I looked while waiting for the GPS to boot, but was a quick find once it had. TFTC.
Should have done this one walking down from Mr John. There is a gate here to the track.
#265 - 01/09/2019 10:19 - what an amazing view from here!!!

A beautiful blue lake but not much view.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Wow, the place is nice and the view should be great. We are really not lucky, as our second trip to Tekapo is under the rain/snow again... We can't see very far, but we'll come back next summer... Thanks for the cache. Both logbook and container are in good condition.
Found this cache on our Roadtrip through New Zealand

I was walking the peninsula trail and detoured over this way to pick up this cache. A car full of muggles pulled up next to me as I was signing the cache and asked if I knew how to get to the shore. I showed them the gate I had just come through and then quietly returned the cache to its hiding place without them noticing. Simultaneously, my friend, who was a bit behind me on the walk, came up out of nowhere to distract the muggles while I replaced the cache. (She knew what was up -- she had wanted to rest and I told her that was fine, I was going to be geocaching while she did.) Thanks for the hide -- beautiful views!
Today was the day for a drive up the southern side of the lake.
There was a car with no-one in it parked at the GZ so I was able to sign off the cache with no problems.
Cheers for the cache.

Unsere große Neuseelandrundreise haben wir natürlich auch zum Anlass genommen einige Caches zu suchen.
Oft entdeckten wir so interessante Orte. Danke für das Herlocken an diesen Ort und den Cache.
