We were thinking about giving up on this one when Mr Herbz wandered further afield and found it. TFTC
Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sweet-Sour.

We reckoned we had an idea of where this was but it involved a bit of walking through long grass, and dodging spider webs etc but eventually we were in the right place. Cache found after a short search. Log signed. TNLN. Thanks to CO for bringing us on this little history tour.
TFTC. We had not been out in a little while and with a new souviner in the offing we decided to head out along the Netherby Road and then circle back to Maryborough via Bauple. We had not been along these road previously so it was a leisurely trip. We attempted and found 22 caches in the Tiaro-Gundiah-Bauple area. Thnaks to the CO’s for putting these out so we could explore the area.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
30/6/21 Staying in Tiaro and seeing the sighrs and grabbing some caches. Great searching along old railway tracks. I am on holidays from Mackay. Rainy weather today. TFTC SL
Tftc Sweet-Sour, we are staying in Maryborough for a few more days.
Headed out this way today to collect a few smilies.

Headed to Hervey bay for my annual pilgrimage to see my daughters on their first day of school for the year. Lucky there's a couple of hundred of caches between Hervey Bay and home.
This was cache **60** of **70** All caches were found with ease and in good condition unless otherwise said, and I thank each of the Cache Owners for placing and maintaing these caches. I apologise for the generic logs, it doen't mean the effort has not gone unnoticed.
Some serious history here, found as the rain started to fall.

With two of us searching for this cache I took the high side, while geomum walked along the roadside. She spotted GZ but didn’t have gps to zone in, after she joined me we soon had the cache in hand!
On our drive from Maryborough to Brisbane today, we decided to take this back road and collect a few geocaches along the way.
A short step or two up the steep embankment where we could see the remnants of a road. A little walk backwards and we soon had the container in our hands and the log signed.
Nice to be on the back roads, as it is always an interesting way to travel.
Thanks sweet-sour,

This series of 5 caches along Netherby Rd have given me fits a few times due to lack of coverage and a weak GPS reading. After no luck with the Sunlander Ghost I found this one rather easily. TFTC

Found with Nyssaflutterby on our escaping reality for the weekend road trip!
We had a plan to find the most caches in a day for both of us (for me just 52, for Nyssa 122!) so after completing a trail we continued on caching for the rest of the day. We could have found a lot more but the heat was against us.
Nyssa thought we were in the wrong spot but I spotted the cache not far away.

Wombles and I were on a mission today. A week ago I had a crazy idea of trying to better my top finds in a day. So this is how we found ourselves in this part of QLD. With a new power trail available it was the perfect place. We had just completed all of the available 101 series and now only needed about another 20ish caches.
After stopping off in Tiaro for CAKE! <3 we decided to take this back road to pick up the last few smileys that were needed. Plus who doesn’t love exploring old rail lines!? We arrived at GZ and I thought for a moment we might need to be down there. Thankfully wombles spotted the beasty before I made a mad scramble down the bank.
Thanks for the smiley Sweet-Sour

Initially I took the high road to this one, but changed my mind and went low. Could have stuck with the original plan, but such is life.
Moving on today after some overnight rain, it was a case of sometimes having to wade through very long, very wet grass this morning, along with ilook4geo. It was a bit of a hit and miss day. Some caches we found OK, but some on the list we had to miss, as they were along a section of road where road works were happening and muggle workers were operating machinery at various points.
There was no problem with this one and all was in good condition. It was an easy find. Thank you Sweet - Sour for placing this cache.

The day started off wet and showery this morning, but cleared as the day went on. The caching still happened with goingplaces2 and we had to leave some due to road works. All caches were replaced as found. TFTC.

Making our way home from Hervey Bay to Redcliffe, Mrs Woodyrothwell and I were having a lazy caching day. That meant drive-bys. I saw this trail after we had stopped in Tiaro to donate some coffee to the public facilities.
We pulled up at the first cache and the phone said we had about 90 metres to walk. We looked at each other and said, "Nah!!" When I said lazy, I meant lazy. We set a rule then that if we couldn't park within 40 metres of a cache we would keep driving.
This was our first cache on the trail and had to duck and weave through some plants to get it. We did manage not to fall into the gully. tftc

We sampled the Gunidah deviation today as a break from highway driving between Rocky and Bribie on day 2 from Charters Towers. We do this trip annually after Christmas and Gympie to Marybrough is one of the least fav sections. This cache was quickly located and in good nick, interesting relics, took the trackable ducks. Thanks again Sweet-Sour.
Out caching today with friends BirdsvilleTrack. Lovely scenery and we enjoyed finding the cache in this location. Made a day of it and had lunch at one of the country pubs. Thanks to Sweet-Sour for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area. Left one of the trackables we collected in the USA to bring into Australia to continue its travels.

(FTF) I had it in the caching plan to come to Gympie today to do the (13) new ones that this CO had placed. I contacted Keith (Sweet-Sour) to see if he wanted to come for a drive as I anticipated he had at least two of his hides to maintain and he accepted the offer. Checked the internet last night and saw a new hide in Maryborough and 8 more from Sweet-Sour. Apologies for cut and paste logs as I have a lot to write.
I do not actively chase ftf but I will take them if I come across one or two or three or more. 38 hides in the plan today. 36 finds, 1 did not attempt as I did not have a ladder with me, and one
( The emperor ) I did not go out of my way to attempt as it was now dark on our return to Gympie.
No DNF's but came awfully close to one or two but persistent paid off. Left home at 0545 and arrived at the residence of Sweet-Sour at 0615. 486klmn drive today, home to home, and arrived home at 2000hours. Long day but there were many breaks along the way. We drove from Gunalda to Maryborough to Wolvi then to Cooran then to Kin Kin then to Mapleton then Amamoor then back to North of Gympie.
This was the next one in the plan and did not take long to find at all. Sweet-Sour tended to walk slightly away from each GZ leaving all the hard work to me and that is what should happen as it gives the CO a good chance to check his placed co ordinates. Keih and I nearly allways have a gapof about 3 meters. Not too difficult toi find with good co ordinates. I still do paper caching and only load a few at a time into my GPSr. Have the smart phone as a backup now but initially I was not going to load the APP.
Very good hide and I really did enjoy finding this one. Thanks for the company and TFTC Sweet-Sour.
