Logs
Found by Mary and David at 14:15. Such emerald green lush grass!. Still no trains though. Our thanks to Sweet-Sour.
We parked up on the other side of the track as we have our caravan in tow. It's a little soggy under foot from the recent rain. However, it's all dry inside the cache. TFTC.
Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sweet-Sour.

Skipped a few to keep the caches on the left side of the road heading north. Thankyou for placing this here.
Heading north today from Gympie via the back roads to Tiaro and picking up cahes along the way and this was one of them. I parked nearby and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and after signing the log all was returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Nice quick find while caching in the area Thanks for the cache
Didn’t see any rail traffic but plenty of road traffic along this road today. Cache found without too much trouble and our visit logged. TFTC
TFTC. We had not been out in a little while and with a new souviner in the offing we decided to head out along the Netherby Road and then circle back to Maryborough via Bauple. We had not been along these road previously so it was a leisurely trip. We attempted and found 22 caches in the Tiaro-Gundiah-Bauple area. Thnaks to the CO’s for putting these out so we could explore the area.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
30/6/21 Staying in Tiaro and seeing the sighrs and grabbing some caches. Great searching along old railway tracks. I am on holidays from Mackay. Rainy weather today. TFTC SL
Tftc Sweet-Sour, we are staying in Maryborough for a few more days.

Headed to Hervey bay for my annual pilgrimage to see my daughters on their first day of school for the year. Lucky there's a couple of hundred of caches between Hervey Bay and home.
This was cache **63** of **70** All caches were found with ease and in good condition unless otherwise said, and I thank each of the Cache Owners for placing and maintaing these caches. I apologise for the generic logs, it doen't mean the effort has not gone unnoticed.
You've put a lot of effort into these, even finding all the rocks would've been a difficult task. Found quickly and signed log, before recovering with the rocks.
Thanks for the cache **Sweet-Sour**

We are having a drive out after a few rainy days picking up some caches in this area. The cache was found. Log signed and cache replaced as found. Thanks Sweet-Sour.
Continuing on this road south, we stopped at this next one just before the crossing. Now we can see why this one has its name. With an obvious possible location we just parked close to GZ and within a few steps had the container in our hand all is dry safe and well with this geocache and we have added a name.
Thanks sweet-sour for this backroad series.

Heading from Brisbane to Bundaberg and decided to take this detour and collect along this country road. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches to enhance our enjoyment of caching.

if I could find the ants nest I would do as suggested, but where is the ants nest?? Cache hasn't been found for more than 12 months with 6dnf's in that time and no finds
I was going to call in on this cache today, sorry ran out of time.
Suggestion try digging the cache out of the ants nest that they have built over the cache, pat the nest down and place the container back on top of the nest.
Have fun

Looked all over. The post where is should be according to the gps is empty. Will try again when next in the area
Found a very likely spot but couldn't retrieve anything, if that was the hiding spot.
We can see the container but the ants nest has buried it with 10cm of dirt. This one requires owner intervention to scare off the ants and fetch to higher ground.
NO luck with this one. Read the previous log and plucked up the courage to dive deeper. Found two snails, but no cache.
Kilkivan Cache-up stay Day 3:
Another early start, leaving Kilkivan and heading up through Gundiah and Tiaro before a few hours in Maryborough to find some caches and attend a New Year's event, then heading home.
The container had slipped quite a long way down, in fact I reached down up to my elbow, and only just grabbed it with my fingertips. Replaced with a little packing under the container so it's still well hidden but the next finder doesn't need to reach down quite so far.

Found on Monday 31 Dec. 2018 at06:59 making #6,036.
Thanks for the experience **Sweet-Sour**

This cache was almost outside the 40 metre criteria zone we had set ourselves on the drive-by trail. My navigator had told me to park the car and said there was 41 metres to go. Technically she was in the passenger seat and seeing I was 1 metre closer, I was technically inside the inclusion zone.
She handed me the phone and said that she wasn't allowed to get out to look for this one because she was outside the search radius. I raced over to grab the cache and it then dawned on me that I should have made our 40 metre limit, 39 metres instead. tftc

I stopped by the crossing heading south,
and quickly found a cache
Now where's the trains ??
C'mon !!!
Right on cue I heard one coming
Must be electric, as there was no trumming diesel noise.
So it won't be the tilt train !!
An air horn gave a long blast !!
Er !! The crossing lights and booms ain't working ??
And a 4WD rolled to a stop on the track just short of the crossing and a maintenance bloke wandered over to inspect something or other.
And off he went again along the rails
Well that was underwhelming !!
and quickly found a cache

Spent the day with Youngoldfella, he chasing my caches, me watching and having a little chuckle.
It is very entertaining watching others hunt for one's own caches, because they are using a GPS which tends to take them in a straight line.
"The hard way in and find an easy way out at the cache" I'd like a $ for every time I hear that, I've done it too. But to see it in real time is amusing.
We did find a better hide for this one, so the move.

I had it in the caching plan to come to Gympie today to do the (13) new ones that this CO had placed. I contacted Keith (Sweet-Sour) to see if he wanted to come for a drive as I anticipated he had at least two of his hides to maintain and he accepted the offer. Checked the internet last night and saw a new hide in Maryborough and 8 more from Sweet-Sour. Apologies for cut and paste logs as I have a lot to write.
I do not actively chase ftf but I will take them if I come across one or two or three or more. 38 hides in the plan today. 36 finds, 1 did not attempt as I did not have a ladder with me, and one
( The emperor ) I did not go out of my way to attempt as it was now dark on our return to Gympie.
No DNF's but came awfully close to one or two but persistent paid off. Left home at 0545 and arrived at the residence of Sweet-Sour at 0615. 486klmn drive today, home to home, and arrived home at 2000hours. Long day but there were many breaks along the way. We drove from Gunalda to Maryborough to Wolvi then to Cooran then to Kin Kin then to Mapleton then Amamoor then back to North of Gympie.
This was the next one in the plan and did not take long to find at all. Sweet-Sour tended to walk slightly away from each GZ leaving all the hard work to me and that is what should happen as it gives the CO a good chance to check his placed co ordinates. Keih and I nearly allways have a gapof about 3 meters. Not too difficult toi find with good co ordinates. I still do paper caching and only load a few at a time into my GPSr. Have the smart phone as a backup now buit initially I was not going to load the APP. Signed log YOF to save room on the paper as I write big. Thanks for the company and TFTC Sweet-Sour.
