Out for the day with ToucanKB, exploring the area and signing as KATO. Fast find here. Sad story, Rest in Peace Anna. Tftc
On our way home from a week at Bribie Island with the geodogs (such a fantastic dog beach down there!) and we decided to take a different route to grab some smileys. Also an excellent time for a leg stretch for the pooches!TFTC!
Anna Katherina Krieger Cairn was transferred from Sweet-Sour to user youngoldfella
Completing these for a challenge. Lots of nice camping areas around these parts. Going to be living and working in this area for the next 6 months. Nice rivers too.
On a slow trip out to Longreach for the QOGM 2023 event.
Cache found in the expected area, within a reasonable time, without difficulties.
Cache in good condition.
Such a sad story.............

Tftc Sweet-sour, made the find here while camped at Mundubbera.
All good with the cache.
All good with the cache.
Travelling in our motorhome in the way home to Maryborough along a road we have not been on before & stopped to find this cache. What a lovely spot with recently mowed grass. Thanks Sweet- Sour.
Day 2 of the Reflection Road Trip to CQ with an early start to head out to do the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail ( BBIRT) Bridges section between Gayndah and Mundubbera. This cache was on the way. Although I worked with the Citrus industry in the Central Burnett for several years I never did any tourist stuff. In the 1980s this road was a back road between the towns which I have driven many a time. Not once had I noticed this, Cairn.
Doesn't need any maint, the cache site is in better nick than usual. NOT MY JOB TO MOW THE GRASS/
Sad to read about poor Anna's demise. Life would have been very hard back then. Cache found in good condition. Replaced with a little more camo.
Found and log signed. Dried out container and replaced as found. Thank you for bringing us here to learn a little more history. TFTC
Found this cache while having a weekend out caching. Inside of cache was wet and the log book was damp.
Rest In Peace Anna.
Thanks Sweet-Sour for the cache.
Found at 2:53 pm on 15/1/22.

Easy peasy, thanks. What a sad story. Seems like the great great great great nephew needs to come and do some maintenance here, the tables are a bit messy!
Short drive out of town after lunch. Quick find and TFTC. Our fourth for the day.
On a weekend getaway with wombles and 1MinnieMoo to celebrate my 10th Geocaching Birthday! Stopped here to to create another smiley for our maps. Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour
Nyssaflutterby, 1Minniemoo and I were on a road trip from north Brisbane to Munduberra and back via Kingaroy. We had a few planned caches and some extras along the way.
Nice quick find at this sad spot. TFTC

10/7/21 Find #4883
Day two of our weekend Road Trip had NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, and I starting the morning in Mundubbera before heading to Auburn and then beginning our journey back down to reach Kingaroy for the night.
Having thoroughly enjoyed our time in Auburn, we were now heading back towards Gayndah, and decided to make a stop here for this cache as we were passing.
Such a sad story, but amazing how much detail was known both about this woman and the events leading up to her tragic death, considering the era. They certainly were different times however, as walking the journey she was making would be extremely unlikely for anyone these days.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour.

I stopped to read the cairn and found a perfect spot for a geocache right where I had parked. And there was a geocache! I haven’t geocached for a few years and didn’t have my handheld GPS with me so had to download the app for my phone. So pleased to have found it. Now I’ll look for some more geocaches. TNSL
Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART!
After a great night's sleep at Kinbombi Falls free camping we were keen to collect a few more smilies!
Day 2 ... #18 of 20 smilies today.
Such a tragic story.
Making it to Australia only to have her life taken so soon.
A truly bitter sweet page in Australian history.
Left a sour taste in our mouth reading about her though.
A quick find where all is good with the cache.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Found at 1:48 PM GAFF1.
Such a tragedy for someone so young, but what strikes me as odd is that she was buried where she lay and witnessed by 2 policemen - where was her husband? Hmm - was he implicated in any way?
Cache was found totally exposed and so I placed the piece of bark that was covering a AAA battery which I initially thought was the cache [:o)]
Now it is not visible to muggles, but from the look of this place - no-one comes here anyway!
Thanks Sweet-Sour

Not bad. A hint would be helpful but not necessary. The place is nice. THE CACHE IS BIG. A lot of prizes inside. Thank you so much.
Heading north and stopping at Gympie, Kilkivan, Gayndah and places between for a few caches along the way.

Taking the scenic route from Mundubbera to Gayndah. Thanks sweet - sour for showing me this sad little piece of history. Cheers from Bindair Dundat.
Found while in the area visiting mountainman82 and hiding a few caches.
Such a sad old story, that a young woman couldnt walk to town on her own back then without attracting trouble.
Thanks Sweet-Sour, always a fan of a history plaque.

Great cache. Thanks for arranging the hide and interesting placement. Our thanks to Sweet-Sour for placing this cache and enhancing our enjoyment of the area.
I was on my way back from Brisbane and I decided to drop in on this cache.
I pulled up and worried about GZ as I saw some rubbish nearby. But nope - this one was squirrelled away nice. I signed the log. I was surprised (or maybe not surprise) to see my friend Pprime had been here less than a week before.
A very sad tale.. and a good little stop. TFTC Sweet-Sour

Out for a few days driving around and tonight visiting Gayndah - checking out the two lookouts and this historical spot popped up on our radar. A quick cache find all good here, but such a sad story. Good to see her memory survives.
Thanks Sweet-Sour for entertaining me at this location.

Catching up on logs from our four day caching trip. It’s been a while since we have been out and about. We found a variety of different hide, most of them quick finds . Thanks to all the co,s for hiding the caches for us to find.
Grey nomads, we have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we having to coped with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing, we are finally free to hit the road, even tho in this instance it is only for two weeks. Today, we departed Gayndah, after a very interesting tour of the old Sunlander at the Railway Heritage site. We decided to travel down the dirt road to Hivesville, then onwards via back roads to Kingaroy.
This cache captured my imagination. What a sad story. She was only here fore three years. But, it was a quick find. We held a few moments of respect at the monument before continuing on our way. Thanks Sweet-Sour for taking the time to honour Katherina

This is the last day of a 14 day trip out to Barcaldine for the QOGM Event and on the way back to Brisbane. Found many caches and appreciate all CO's who placed them in their locations. Cache found and log signed. TFTC
Day 15 of our road trip to the QOGM and return and today we head off from Mundubbera for Brisbane via Gympie. Thank you so much to all the COs who have placed caches along the highways and byways that we will travel over in the fourteen days we are away. Without your caches we would not see and/or learn about your local area.
What a sad story!
What a sad story!
Thanks Sweet-Sour for showing us this shortcut to Munduberra and for this cache along the way. Left TB to continue its journey.
I am traveling a very zigzag route to QOGM in Barcaldine. I have been unwell, so delayed the start of my trip by several days. Yesterday, I arrived in Gympie and spent the night there. Today, I am setting off for Eidsvold. After stopping for a bite to eat in the nearby town, I headed to this cache. Such a sad story. :'( After reading the plaque, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
On our way home from having a bacon butty up the hill. Have only stopped here for a geokids wee before today... Thanks for the cache!
Out on a cache hunt with muggle sister and friend. This friend finds them all! Tfc. Interesting history.
We would probably not have stopped to read this memorial plaque, except for the cache being places there. It is good to see that this lady's memory is being honoured by her descendants and the community.
Sweet-Sour gets our thanks for showing us this piece of history, which probably most people would drive by and not even notice.

Never had cause to stop here before today. Glad this poor woman was not forgotten. T4T $
Out for the morning, and thought we'd grab some caches as well. A nice quiet back road made for a relaxing drive.
Sad to read about what happened to Anna, but it's nice that she is remembered.

Found during our five week journey half-way around Australia, for the NT Experience OzMega event, somewhere between: ACT -> NSW -> Qld -> NT -> SA -> Vic -> NSW -> ACT.
So many stories to tell. So many experiences had. So little time to mention them all.

youngoldfella and I are on our way to Barcaldine for a maintenance and planning run. This is Day 1. We chose to go up a slightly different path as I am hoping to ;pick up a couple of old caches along the way.
This is a new one, less than six months old. We were able to pull up right alongside GZ where I popped out of the YOF-Mobile to retrieve the cache.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 7.45am on 24th March 2017. TFTC, Sweet-Sour.
