Gotcha Long grass and snakes were an issue but with snake sticks we got there With Juju54 TFTC
Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sweet-Sour.

Took the opportunity to get away for the weekend to Maryborough. The roads are busy so it was good to take a break here and there fir a cache or two.
Travelling & Caching with RoddyC.
Interesting. The old road must have been on the otherside of this.

This was sitting out in the open and was a quick spot and was made our approach. Road is getting busier now as the morning wears on. Sun is starting to bite.
Heading north today from Gympie via the back roads to Tiaro and picking up cahes along the way and this was one of them. I parked nearby and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and after signing the log all was returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Nice quick find while caching in the area Thanks for the cache
I found this cache laying on the ground beside a tree, At first I thought it was open, but it wasn't. Everything seemed to be OK inside and I signed the log and left the cache where I thought it should be.

We were a bit concerned as there has been a fire through here recently, plenty of blackened earth and ash etc. After a short search, the cache was found in good order and thankfully not affected by the fire. Signed log, TNLN. Thank you to CO for setting up this trail.
TFTC. We had not been out in a little while and with a new souviner in the offing we decided to head out along the Netherby Road and then circle back to Maryborough via Bauple. We had not been along these road previously so it was a leisurely trip. We attempted and found 22 caches in the Tiaro-Gundiah-Bauple area. Thnaks to the CO’s for putting these out so we could explore the area.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
30/6/21 Staying in Tiaro and seeing the sighrs and grabbing some caches. Great searching along old railway tracks. I am on holidays from Mackay. Rainy weather today. TFTC SL

One of my daughters who lives in Hervey Bay was getting an award today at school, so I made the trip from Beaudesert to Hervey Bay and back again in a day. Thankfully there's still a couple of caches between there that I hadn't gotten yet to break the long drive up.
895 kilometres in one day is a lot of driving! This was cache 27 of 33
Another one done and a nice quick easy find. Was able to park well enough off the road and walked straight up to the GZ. The tree has pink tape on it, and I'm not sure what that means or if it's new or old tape, but just a heads up.
Thanks for the cache **Sweet-Sour**

Tftc Sweet-Sour, we are staying in Maryborough for a few more days.
Headed out this way today to collect a few smilies.
Tree has a pink ribbon around it, is it going to be cut down? Ribbon is pretty faded

Couldn’t spot a decent place to park so will have to search for this one another day!
Our GPS has us wandering in circles and so we picked the wrong tree initially.
After awhile things seemed to settle a little more, and we soon had the container. We have added our name to the log and are continuing a slow drive today back to Brisbane.
Thanks sweet-sour,
Domsky

Found with Nyssaflutterby on our escaping reality for the weekend road trip!
We had a plan to find the most caches in a day for both of us (for me just 52, for Nyssa 122!) so after completing a trail we continued on caching for the rest of the day. We could have found a lot more but the heat was against us.
Another quick find here.

Wombles and I were on a mission today. A week ago I had a crazy idea of trying to better my top finds in a day. So this is how we found ourselves in this part of QLD. With a new power trail available it was the perfect place. We had just completed all of the available 101 series and now only needed about another 20ish caches.
It was starting to drizzle again so wombles and I waited a few moments before leaving our vehicle. We looked here and then there. Woot! There it is.... another smiley towards our goal.

Spent the day with Youngoldfella, he chasing my caches, me watching and having a little chuckle.
It is very entertaining watching others hunt for one's own caches, because they are using a GPS which tends to take them in a straight line.
"The hard way in and find an easy way out at the cache" I'd like a $ for every time I hear that, I've done it too. But to see it in real time is amusing.
Found the Cords a little too far out for my liking.

(FTF) As I could not locate GZ the Co had to come to the rescue and realised he did not like the posted co ordinates so they were changed. Thanks for the help here Keith. I was walking in one direction and the CO asked me why and it turned out that I did not have the recent changes to his co ordinates. Soon rectified. I had it in the caching plan to come to Gympie today to do the (13) new ones that this CO had placed. I contacted Keith (Sweet-Sour) to see if he wanted to come for a drive as I anticipated he had at least two of his hides to maintain and he accepted the offer. Checked the internet last night and saw a new hide in Maryborough and 8 more from Sweet-Sour. Apologies for cut and paste logs as I have a lot to write.
I do not actively chase ftf but I will take them if I come across one or two or three or more. 38 hides in the plan today. 36 finds, 1 did not attempt as I did not have a ladder with me, and one
( The emperor ) I did not go out of my way to attempt as it was now dark on our return to Gympie.
No DNF's but came awfully close to one or two but persistent paid off. Left home at 0545 and arrived at the residence of Sweet-Sour at 0615. 486klmn drive today, home to home, and arrived home at 2000hours. Long day but there were many breaks along the way. We drove from Gunalda to Maryborough to Wolvi then to Cooran then to Kin Kin then to Mapleton then Amamoor then back to North of Gympie.
This was the next one in the plan and did not take long to find at all. Sweet-Sour tended to walk slightly away from each GZ leaving all the hard work to me and that is what should happen as it gives the CO a good chance to check his placed co ordinates. Keih and I nearly allways have a gapof about 3 meters. Not too difficult toi find with good co ordinates. I still do paper caching and only load a few at a time into my GPSr. Have the smart phone as a backup now buit initially I was not going to load the APP. Thanks for the company and TFTC Sweet-Sour.
