With our birdwatching outing starting at Emu Green this morning I was pleased to see a cache on the geomap close to our meeting place. Funny thing, there often is - birdwatching and geocaching are good partners.
The weather was perfect for a walk down to the river where we were surprised by the obvious height of the water during the recent floods and the damage caused to the landscape here. Unfortunately already noxious weeds are beginning to sprout.
Even as the leader I was able to grab this cache, and of course the usual farmer's friends which loved my clothes.
The birds did not disappoint!

We are making the most of this glorious autumn weather and heading out into the sunshine to cache around the lower blue mountains with a quick stop in Emu Plains first. Funny story here - I loaded the cache into Google maps, only to find it leading me down a road to the local correctional facility! Crap! A quick U-turn and driving around until i can pull over, but my geo-senses must have been on track because I found myself near a nice green space. This looks like a good spot to hide a cache I thought, let me have a look and see if there is anything around... Lo and behold, I'm only 80m away from the cache I originally intended to grab! A nice quick find with birdsong in the background tftc!

Found in odd place. Put back where it belongs. OCW MaxAdventurer and Brewmaker. ?? TFTC thomo31
Wow! We were about to log a DNF, when we saw it on the gate post. Somehow it must have been muggled. So we replaced where we expected it should have been under a rock. All good inside. TFTC
Awesome great spot love the notebook inside so hidden that even the lowlife smoking Billys next to it couldn’t find it
Found on a damp morning whilst getting the geomobile serviced by CRD. Cache in good dry condition. SL TFTH TFTC Nice little hide.
No Plovers today. Cheers.

On the way to Blackheath for the weekend, frazeydaze and I stopped off to grab this cache while the bell birds rang their bells in the trees above. TFTC thomo31
Caching with oldmorty on our way to Blackheath.
Very familiar area. Nice hide. Quick find.

A early rise and drive to get to the Penrith lakes parkrun, then some nice caching on the other side of the Nepean River. After a DNF this morning I had a short conversation with the CO and she offered to check and replace if needed. Then I had a thumbs up a bit later, returned and made a quick and easy find.

Checked as I was passing, and the cache is still hanging in there. Log sheet is slightly damp so will replace it when I pass by next.
There were many likely spots for this one. Checked as many as I could but had to leave

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Emu Plains for a short 4 day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains, and are planning to explore the areas around Emu Plains, Penrith, Glenmore Park, Cranebrook, Castlereagh, Lapstone, Glenbrook, and Blaxland. Will be concentrating our efforts on collecting the Glenmore Park Puzzle GeoArt and the Puzzled Hearts GeoArt caches, all of which we had solved before leaving home, and also hoping to complete the local Adventure Labs along the way. This was our 24th find of the day, and 71st find of the holiday.
As we approached the cache site we could see that lots of tree lopping and pruning had recently occurred right at GZ, so we prepared ourselves for a possible DNF, but thankfully the workers had missed the nicely theme matched camoed cache and it was still "hanging in there". TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC thomo31.

OCW LycieSki, nice quick one for the start of the day. We were heading to the mountains for out 6 month anniversary but once we got here the traffic was so horrible because everyone wanted to see the snow! Decided to start caching here instead!
Find 699 at 5:39 pm.
Nice quick walk to the park where I spent many hours riding around as a little one. Bit of a shame the equipment and shelter aren’t around anymore.
Thanks thomo31 for the cache!

Adorable and hint very easy. Sweet little park. Lapwings are currently waking us up in the middle of the night Didn’t see any in the park today. TFTC.
Quick and easy find this morning after a quick visit to PEMAC to watch the geo-husband fly. TFTC
A great creation of the cache guardian. Seemed almost impossible to get the log out. Was stuck to the sides and took a long time. Thanks for the cache.
Got lots of weird looks but mainly cause my dogs were tying me up with their leads
Grabbing a couple of caches while in the area. It’s quite humid today.
Quick find was made.

Checked on cache while birdwatching nearby. Cache creep... someone has moved it and rewired it in a new spot! We are leaving it there and have modified the hint. 2 Masked Lapwings were nearby this morning
In Penrith today due to car service, so off with Trodectus to do a few caches until car ready. #7 for the day, having come from the prison end, we saw the gate and thought we would have to back track, but fortunately we were able to open it and get back onto bitumen, parked nearby then soon had CIH, log signed and returned. TFTC
7th find with Coybear2000. We'd been following a road/track from the nearby prison, doing some mystery caches. As we approached GZ, we saw a gate blocking our way out. Before attempting this find we checked said gate and found that it was not locked, so we took the car through first. Then we walked back to GZ where we soon had CIH. Log signed and all replaced and we continued on our way. TFTC.

We did a cache check and coords are correct. Also checked coords on Google Earth and they say the same thing. However WaywardWoman also came along and her iphone showed the distance as out. It may be an iPhone glitch as there are power lines overhead. She did take a waypoint at GZ and it came up correct!
If in doubt, check the hint.

Found it by hint. But cords were old by 45 meters. Can the CO please check on this cache as that is rediculus.
Cords are way out. Seem to be having this problem with a lot out here. Finally located by just using the hint.
Found with MusoSon and Riker. Riker tried to have a little nibble of it. Great find and beautiful spot with lots of birdie chirps

Although I'm not a real "twitcher" I am a bit of a birdo so I was interested in this one. Sadly did not see the Masked Lapwing this time. I look forward to investigating the rest of the series.
While out collecting a few caches for the morning, this one was where we chose to start. No muggles were anywhere near, so it was straight to the cache and a quick reveal. All was good with the container and log book, so after quickly doing the signing we were on our way to the next find. Thanks so much to thomo31 for placing this series of bird caches. We heard various different bird calls while at this cache location.
