Time for some biking along the trails gathering a few smilies. A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland for our family Christmas. Today we cruised around Rotorua. Please excuse the generic logs, there have been a few finds and they get muddled up sometimes.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Find number 7075. I had time to stop today and there were no close following vehicles so I pulled over. Thankfully it was a nice quick find in the wet. Thank you for the placement.
A quick find. I was in a car and not on a cycle/shanks pony so that made stopping a bit difficult as the highway was busy today. Would have been better if I was in my own car but I felt that smacking up the rental was not an option. TFTC.
Visiting North Island from Otago as I still had my flights etc all booked last Christmas for what was going to be the Mega Weekend. Joined up with the Southland Geocachers (MrandMrsChosen1978, Wombat_4, NZBozzy, Kiscardi, Mrs Hazzer, Tregram and I) formed the Southern Raiders to have a Mega time caching in Auckland and Rotorua.
Day 2 - 6.30am start and 10.30pm back at hotel. Today the aim was to get to the GC45 plaque. A great day trip and some really good caches found, some old DNFs avenged and lots of new caching memories made.
Thank you for this series. Had fun as a team looking for the caches.

[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Day 2 of some of us South Island cachers hitting the area around Auckland. Today was going to be something to remember as heading down to GC45... excited much?!!? Nabbed that then the X's, now along the way a few trads tftc
What a great trail you have up here. Might have to come back sometime & explore further. Quick find today. TFTC
A quick after visiting the tribute cache.
In lieu of Akld Mega 2020, we decided a side trip to the new tribute cache (to GC45) was in order. Travelling with South Island cachers, we found a number of caches including this one.
We have typically signed as mrandmrschosen1978 or occasionally MM78.

Headed to Rotorua for a few hours today, it’s nice and warm, great day for caching. Pulled up close in the 4WD and made a short walk to GZ. cheers for the cache.
Quick stop and find of this cache while heading past with Gorby. GPS initially led the wrong way here, but no worries with the find. TFTC

Out visiting with our son and stopped to get a couple of caches, our grandson found this one and was very excited. Thanks
Quick find. Walking with my bike to the next intersection, where hopefully I can repair the puncture. Pen has run out of ink so taking a photo instead and sending to CO. Tftc

In Rotorua for a ten pin bowling tournament, time for a bike ride along this track to find some caches. Thanks ApacheD for the cache.
Came down for the day from Hamilton to do these on my bike. Very nice ride actually. All caches in good condition.

Road trip with NZPatoto to spend a couple of nights in her motorhome at Lake Rerewhakaaitu (fantastic little spot, peaceful but not quiet due to the frogs and just what the doctor ordered), completing caches on the way there and back home. Got most, had to leave a couple due to parking, traffic and size of motorhome. 26 in Total, 2 DNF, 1 Note and 1 disabled (not included in count) on the homeward trip. Was open when NZPatoto print the details. 4 of 26 Found by Nahkins. Day 1 Travelling to Lake. Easy find, log damp but signed, could use a new bag, didn't have one on me as I only took a pen. TFTC
Headed off with Nahkins on a road trip in my motorhome. Headed to Lake Rerewhakaaitu doing caches on the way, while we stayed and on way home. Had mixed results.A couple I couldn't stop as there wasn't enough room for parking. 2 DNF. 1 disabled the day after I had printed out the list. Lots of blackberry in places. Nahkins turn to search. The log is damp. Good parking. TFTC
Had to pick cache sites with suitable space to park. This one was an obvious placement with the hint. Wondered what drivers would think as they whizzed past while at GZ. tftc
On our 32nd day in New Zealand we stayed in Rotorua. Main aim today was to visit some of these very interesting geothermal sites. Again we were also looking for some caches but a main aim was to do some earth caches. We spent a wonderful day, weather was great and even though there were everywhere a lot of people we could see all we wanted.
This was our first cache, a quick stop on the way to Wai-O-Tapu. We could find this box well.
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

During our holidays in New Zealand, we spent a couple of days in north island with program sightseeing, gastronomy and, of course, Geocaching!
So, we took the time to visit a few Caches, to remove some green, orange or blue dots on our map.
We will distribute favorite points according to our mood and caches met.
Thank you to all Owners for the installation of these boxes and for their maintenance.
A nice place for a box!
Greetings from France!

First day in Rotorua. We are visiting from Toronto ON Canada to spend 25 days with our daughter who lives in Wellington NZ. We have planned a driving tour of both the north island and the south Island. Quick stop at GZ. Found at 5:21 PM. Thank you ApacheD for placing and maintaining this cache.
This was the third day of my twelve day trip to go to the Wellington Mega. Today I left Rotorua and am driving down to Napier. I buzzed through here three years ago on my way to a previous Mega and while doing the CANZ series.
I tried to look nonchalant, but I'm afraid I looked quite suspicious next to the tree. TFTC.

Nice easy find thank you. Log is a bit damp, not surprising considering all the rain lately
Found - log everything out in the open but dry it looks like someone wanted to know what was in it, put it all back and tucked it back against its hint. thanks for the placement
Sure wish we'd had bikes to do this trail, but we got the ones where there was a pull off. TFTC!
Determined to not have a dot day during February and this cache worked for today. Well hidden but super easy to get to. TFTC

We left feilding Friday night headed to Wanganui then Saturday our caching weekend began got 20 caches on our first day then 46 on the second day so far today got 34 now to enjoy this trail and the lovely green countryside. We have never done this area before so good to cache in a new area of New Zealand. Nice find here signed the log and placed it back exactly where where we found it. TfTC 2nd to last cache for the day we need yo get up.e it's a 5 hour drive and it 3pm already we pulled over yo side of road luckybyhis one was achievable by car thank you well have to get the rest off the trail on our next visit and bring the bikes.
Out for the day with my nephew who is staying with his grandparents for a bit & enjoys casual caching. We wondered how we would go with this trail as we are doing it by car but so far so good. Thanks ApacheD,nice easy find.
Ah, there's the cachemobile and the final one for the day. I enjoyed that ride downhill.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
It was pretty dark, but we decided to pull over and do a driver swap, and what do you know, there's a cache here
No problems making the find, although we retreated to the car to sign the log as it was drizzling a little bit.
We left a pet rock - a chick in an egg.
Thanks for putting this here ApacheD

Out this morning with the geo-girls to do a bike ride and pick this series up. We started from the final end and rode down hill to the first cache and picked them up in order on the way back. All caches were found and are in good condition although a few were a little wet. Thanks for this series; just the right length for a morning ride with kids.
During our vacation in New Zealand we also did some geocaching. We already found geocaches placed on the year 2000. Now we are heading to Tokoroa (bay of plenty) and there we also did some caches. We found some and also didn't found some. But we had a lot of fun, and that is what geocaching ment to be.
ApacheD hartelijk dank voor het leggen en onderhouden van deze cache.

Its Been a while and now its time to catch up on all the logging that I've put off to a rainy day (while it may not be raining, where we were heading the roads are still closed hence sitting here doing this).
A bit of a mini mission with HKCB & RWIMF to clear out many of the caches south of Rotorua. There were a few specific caches targeted for the day but there were also enough other caches to make it a very interesting day. A great big thank you for all the work and effort put in by the cache owners in keeping it all going. (and you'd be surprised where you can actually take a 2WD work vehicle when the boss doesn't know)
So thank you for the placement, thank you for the cache

On a bit of a clean out mission in the South of Rotorua with Cats&Dragons and RWIMF, but we did have our eye on a few specific caches for the day. Is was a really good day out with a lot of new places visited, however the day didn't quite go to plan as there were a couple of things happened which made the day very eventful and in the end cut short the caching day, but more on those at the caches they happened. Sorry for the mostly copy and past logs, but a big thanks to the CO's for the placements and the reason to visit these places. We signed the logs with HamC, HCR or a mash up of both.
Being nice and early in the morning (well before the sun was meant to come up), meant the traffic was more or less non-existant which made it nice and safe for park and grabs along this trail. A nice quick find, thanks for the hide.

Had a terrific adventure today with Cats&Dragons, and HKCB. We got up early and headed over to collect some caches in the Rotorua / BOP area. All logs today signed with some form of the letters HCR - depending on who was signing the log, as part of trying not to take up too much room
AND we are off! off to find all this trail before it gets light! how will we do? well... I'm with two very experienced caches - so I expect very well! This cache was a nice quick find, and we were on our way again.

Heading home to Feilding from Rotorua after two wonderful days caching. Loved this trip to Rotorua and our dash to Tauranga for the web cam cache. Now racing for home with as many on the way as we can fit in. We spent ages last night figuring a route home on which we could collect the most or something interesting or needed for the Matrix grid. Could not decide and just got up and drove. And then stumbled on this run we had not seen. Awesome. Busy road but ok to pull off on.
Quick find with nothing much else to report at this one. TFTC

Decided that a short power trail would be a good idea to top off the day, a quick park 'n' grab
A beautiful summer day so we made a sudden decision to tackle the caches along this cycle trail, minus the cycles. Parking was reasonably good for each cache, traffic noise was horrendous as streams of vehicles passed in each direction, suggest ear-muffs for anyone waiting in the car. It has to be the noisiest cache hunt we've ever done. Nice little hides were quickly found at each co-ordinate. Thanks for a bunch of smilies for the 10 caches along this part of the trail. Started at No.1. This find was quick and easy. TFTC
And the first shall be last... after finding numbers 2-10 on our bikes we really enjoyed the fast downhill ride to get back to this one. We almost circled the hint object and were worried it might be our first DNF of the series, before finally looking in the right spot! Now back to the car and home after a fun day cycling around the lakes. TFTC and the series ApacheD!
