Staying in Sydney for a few days. We set out bright and early once again this morning. Today we primarily focused on the CBD area, the weather held up brilliantly and made the perfect day for caching.Had the final coords before the cache was archived. Visited the ANZAC memorial beforehand right on 11am so managed to be part of the short service. Also found some soil from back home Cache is still in position and in good condition. Thanks for the cache
I got the coordinates a little while ago but didnt have a chance at the time to head over to GZ.Im now spending a couple of days in the city and was getting a list of caches together when I noticed that this one wasnt appearing on the map. Wondered if it had been archived so discovered a way to view archive caches, and found that was the case.I was in the vicinity of GZ so thought Id check it out to see if the container was still there anyway. Had to pick my moment between passing muggles and found the container safe and sound.SL TFTC
Finally rusted up 3x phones and got the Mobcache way point sorted. GZ was familiar, and cache spotted, but constant flow of muggles meant we passed on the retrieval, knowing there would be some quieter times to grab.Cheers
Hasn't this been a saga. Been to the big smoke on my own, and nearly cleared the cbd. This one though is a little tricky. Knowing I was coming down with Geowife, Madrabbitoh, I hatched plan. What if I used my tablet as the 3rd? I created a new account, got a weeks free trial for premium, and we are set. Now the problem arose when we are at gz. It said the 3rd was not a mobile, and did not connect. Don't really understand this, as it has mobile internet on a sim, and I cache with it all the time. Been dudded. So we continued picking up caches for Geowife, and my mind was racing on how to do this. Others have said they used bystanders, but how does that work, if they don't get premium? Anyhow my best luck could not have perceived what happened next. We were on approach to gz for another close by, and there is a guy already found it, and logging. Garyf430. You beauty. After the intros and a quick chat, we ask if he would like to help get this one. He was in, and as it turned out was first mob cache for all of us. YAY. With all the stars aligned, it was a very straight forward multi from here on in. And Gary had never found a cache container like this before. I will give a fav, but it is a bugger to get. TFTC
I'm in town and need another two.Who's up for a random meet for a cache. Will be here till the third. Lesssgo
Three nights in Sydney!Day TwoWeather: warm!If this cache is all about cooperation and bringing people together, it has done its job today. This will be the stand out cache of this short trip.1. I check into a nearby hotel hotel yesterday, not where I usually stay. At 210m, this is the closest unfound cache. 2. I see the note by Everlasting, and wonder if maybe he/she/they are also tourists and staying nearby, so send off a message. The name is familiar but I dont know this person/team.3. Not two hours later I run into a pair of geocachers at the midpoint of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Its Everlasting (hasnt read the message yet) and ozuk. A plan is hatched to meet at the ANZAC Memorial tomorrow ie today. 4. Sadly ozuk cant make it today, but we have three devices between us, so press on.5. iPads dont count. I have a second phone that I usually bring with me when caching remotely, but Sydney isnt remote and the second phone is back in South Australia.6. While Everlasting is pursuing some ideas, I read the old logs and Im inspired by Loci612s log, and I thank him for writing it. 7. I bail up a likely looking candidate. Turns out she is a Spanish national who moved to Sydney a couple of weeks ago. Shes very helpful. What a wonderful addition to this city she will make. 8. Coordinates obtained. Please dont let this be a DNF like some others have experienced.9. Took a little while for the GPS to settle, but the cache was found. Two very happy geocachers here. Thanks for this heartwarming experience Seemyshell, FP for sure here. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.

Fun way to walk around to finally get to GZ . A nice concept which now appears to be a number of these type of caches in and around . Good one SeemyShell. TFTC
Find #: 3,371I was in the area for a conference, and finally had both the opportunity and means to find this cache. TNLNSL TFTC
Nice cache, never seen one like this before! After getting my mum and dad to help me get the coordinates a short walk was made a cache quickly found. TFTC
Haha, nice concept! Have not seen this before. But, I'm alone, visiting Sydney. So no mob friends to help me here. But I am IT-smart. So how about we'll just create a 1-person mob? Maybe not fully in the spirit of the cache, but he, you've got to work with what you have, right? Was able to flash-mob the mob counter and get the coordinate. Quick find at gz, tftc! Next time I find one of these while with friends, I'll be sure to go about it the official way
Day 4: Botanical Gardens - Domain - Central Station
The Grand Tour of Sydney continues in two parts today, starting with the partner for a nice stroll around the Gardens to Yurong Point and back, followed by an impromptu caching team-up with Irishalan to find a few caches in Hyde Park. Finally, the day ended with a short caching walk around the Central station area. Another beautiful day in Sydney, so all is well in this wonderful place
(End of the cut and paste bit)
Final cache in the Hyde Park traverse. It was serendipitous that my companion today had the coordinates already, so this solo traveller had a friend to mob this cache. It was a quick find in the expected location, and as with these guys, it is often the logging in that takes much longer than the find. But all is well here, and I appreciate the “challenge”. TFTC!

Greetings from Ireland - this is a generic log for now until I return home / have WiFi - I want to log all finds now so I don't forget them.

Finally got this one with irishalan tonight after the bin fire event. This one has been on my map for years and I was waiting for an event here so I could get the help I needed. Happy to log this one on a rainy Wednesday night TFTC
I think this is my first flash mob cache. Luckily all three of the family had phones so we could solve it. Lovely park. TFTC.
Had this cache on my radar for ages, and finally got around to doing it when my partner and I met up with a friend in the city. Our friend is also a cacher, but sadly couldn't log as they don't have Premium. Anyway, with the right number of devices, the mob worked quickly, and the find was straightforward, if a bit muggly. TFTC!
Found on a weekend away with Mel_adz and Kooleen. Granddaughter Emily did the navigating to the cache
Being eying this one off for a long time but never had enough people! A trip back to Sydney for the weekend and i was able to bring the in-laws across to help. Really interesting cache and a quick find. TFTC
Well this was a different kind of cache- interesting, the log took a bit of fiddling to remove but an earring did the trick TFTC

Luckily Flint had a second devise and we soon were at GZ
It was a last minute decision to spend the weekend in Sydney for a few days of caching, and pleased I did. An early start to the day was just the thing with the quiet streets vacant of many people, later turned to packed and busy but the weather was kind and it was great Flintstones could join me for the day. We walked to my feet complained and my phone died of low battery but it was great visiting many places I had never been to. Loved exploring the old rows with the charming buildings, it was full of many new discoveries. A rescue of a battery pack had us back off again and a very full and fun day around some great locations in the centre of Sydney.
Thank you for your cache Seemyshell

A whole day of caching with Aquilus1 in Sydney CBD getting all the virtuals and trying to clean out the city as much as possible. Perfect weather and after a slow start had a great day.
This cache was one of the ones we had the oportunity to do.
A nice cache, knew what was expected and came prepared
Thank you Seemyshell for the nice walk you gaveus!

Fourth day of our trip and we have left the Rutherglen Mega and are now in Sydney, obviously. Today was mostly just a tourist day and it has been many a long year since Huntress and myself lived in Sydney. 999HK has barely been here, so doing some of the sites. Might collect a few geocaches when passing, but definitely secondary on the priority list.
Too many times these "Mob" caches don't work, however today it all worked well and our 3 devices gave us the correct answers. Then quickly found this tiny container in the expected location.
Thanks for the cache See My Shell

Being seniors, it has taken us quite awhile to finally possess a smart phone each. AND know how to use them. However, we needed three. Hmmmm. How about trying a tablet. Yes. That worked and we managed to obtain the GZ coords. I guess that most people had worked that out ages ago. Anyway, we were pleased with ourselves and that's all that matters.
After making the find at GZ, we replaced the full logsheet with a new one from the nano that we carried in our kit. Not sure what Sue did with the old one logsheet. I should go and ask her. "Sue..."

A few days in Sydney for work meant that some time would be dedicated to caching. Tuesday found me heading into the CBD so I jumped the train at Central in the morning, meandered my way down into the city where I had meetings throughout the day then spent the early evening wandering my way down towards the Harbour & The rocks for some more caches. All in all a busy day with over 25,000 steps and 20+ kilometers walked. Thanks to all the CO's for a wide range of caches!
Came here in the morning at first as my last stop before my first meeting of the day across the road. Met a colleague with coffee before heading in and hoped to knock this off with the assistance of an iPad. But alas, such things are too clever and the iPad was not recognised as a mobile device. More than one way to skin a cat however, so we headed off to our meeting(s) and returned afterwards where we were able to finally able to identify GZ where a quick find was made, the log was stamped and my non caching colleagues were farewelled for the day as I set off for what would turn out to be a lengthy evening caching adventure.

The ‘mob’ part of this was completed on Christmas Eve as some friends and I drove in to hit St Mary’s Cathedral to check out the Christmas Eve mass service as the last stage of a road trip from Victoria. Sadly, I was only promised the mob, not the cache (as we were running incredibly late).
That said, I was confident we’d make quick work of it, as this was my second geomob style cache, so I knew what to expect.
Quite funny really - 3 of us jumped out of the car and made the dash, whilst the 4th drove the loop around Hyde park.
Coords acquired and screenshotted, before sprinting back to the car. Groaned once I plotted the coords.
Today was the day I was swinging by to make the grab. Quick find of a well placed standard nano.

Hopped off at Museum station to attend a nearby event (non-geocaching) and spied this Mob cache!
Have wanted to do this for a long time, but I often travel solo so haven’t had a chance! Today I was determined however, so wandered over and decided to take my chances. There was a bit group of people having a picnic on the grass, but that was a bit too much. There was a security guy who actually told me to not sit on the steps (woops), but he was only 1 person and I figured convincing two strangers would be even tougher.
Then a group of 3 respectable looking older kids in school uniform walked past so I went ahead and made my shot! They were friendly, although hesitant, but one of them had heard of geocaching before which sealed the deal. Got them to login and the cooridnates were soon obtained! I offered them to come to GZ which wasn’t far away to prove what I was trying to do and show them the cache, but I think they drew the line there and headed off another direction instead!
Thanks for the cache Seemyshell! No problems location the nano at the final! Lots of fun

First find for our group today. This was the smoothest mob cache we've done. In the past we've been walking around in circles trying to get it to register but this time we all logged on and straight away got the coordinates. Over shot the mark at GZ initially but then back tracked to an obvious structure for a quick find. TFTC
In Sydney for a few days and doing the tourist trail today. My wife and daughter assisted with this one. At GZ the gps (and map) wanted me on the other side but after having a look at the two structures the other item on the other side was more fruitful.
Thanks Seemyshell for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

On a road trip and now on holiday in Sydney today just enjoying the scenery. A bit chilly and windy to start but at least the rain had stopped.

#14662 - 11:30; Last morning in Sydney, and after checking out of the hotel, the geohoney set off to hunt for a bargain or two and I set off for a final sweep around the edges of the CBD for a few more caches to close out the visit. Reached the posted coords and using multiple devices managed to get it all together to lead me to the prize! TFTC Seemyshell
Out to Sydney CBD today for an outing. Haven't been here this year so time to catch up. Had to take the bus to central as trains south were not running today. Lots of walking along familiar and tourist locations.

Taking advantage of an eleven day break and free public transport I thought I’d have a day in city caching.
This cache was one of a handful I found while meandering throughout the city.
I’m sure I looked like a nerd holding all these devices and only one person to use them all.
The coords and the cache were soon in hand.
Thanks

Back in Sydney for work and a good chance to continue on some caches plus a few new ones.
I tried this last visit with 3 devices. But it only found 1 despite much moving. This time I got it though. The website appeared to get a little upset after a minute of no action and the connected mob number dropped. Trick was to connect all 3 at within a few seconds.
But then it was no joy at GZ
This morning with daylight I made the find.

#6886 For the second weekend in a row, a geo-road trip ! This time to Sydney to attend a special Community Event on Cockatoo Island joined in the car by Kittykatch & Cosmonaut97. There were a number of other notable Canberra geocachers heading up and staying at our hotel, so it was a merry weekend of eating, drinking and caching. But before we got there we dropped in to Picton to run the local parkrun at 8am, grab breakky and a few local caches too. An earlier attempt at the local Adventure Lab failed for me due to intolerable traffic, but no such issues today. So after grabbing these we headed on to Camden. I was pleasantly surprised by Camden with it mix of lovely parks and heritage features. So then on to our hotel in Sydney. While I grew up in Sydney, I've never been to Cockatoo Island before, so I was quite keen to attend the event there. It was good to see an Adventure Lab there too. After the event, we headed back into town after a very pleasant ferry ride back to Circular Quay. Another event down at Homebush Bay topped off the weekend.
Only the 2nd one of these I've done. A lot of fun. 6 of us comprised the mob. Made the find despite the muggles.
Thanks Seemyshell

After dropping the car at the airport I headed back in the city for a few hours to collect some caches, with my laptop, ipad and my iphone this was able to be completed easily enough who said you need 3 people? Cache was found and is all good, don't hide nanos!!!
With a few days of not much going on in Adelaide, I was deciding what to do for the next few days. For some reason Sydney seemed like a good choice and within 6hours I was off and away. With a last minute decision came a last minute plan of what I was going to go and find and as usual it changed but still got most of what I came for. A few DT fill-ins for my next loop, high favourites and JASMAR caches I was yet to find including the oldest in Aus: Lane Cove. Day 1: I arrived in Sydney late in the evening and had booked to stay at the rocks, I got off the train at an early stop and collected a few caches in the city along my path and a few lab caches. Day 2 I was up nice and early and went for nice run along the foreshore collecting some cache from the opera house to Walsh bay, I then headed over to manly and a nice walk around the area before picking up the free hirer car collecting a few caches on my way to lane cove. I later headed north to central coast to 2 Multis I was keen to tick off before arriving back in the city suburbs for the evening. I continued driving around the suburbs collecting LGAs and that continued on for day 3 before going to Bondi for some nice walks along the rock faces and the beach. As I had to drop the car back at lunch time I headed back into the city for the afternoon to collect the rest of the caches I had missed that were possible in the time I had left.
A total of 86 finds and 37 adventure labs for the trip.
Thanks for the cache
With a few days of not much going on in Adelaide, I was deciding what to do for the next few days. For some reason Sydney seemed like a good choice and within 6hours I was off and away. Found this cache on our way to Thai lunch (which was closed ) after completing my 4000th milestone in the Botanic Garden. I only had Chrome on my Android so relied on the others with me to get the coordinates. Cache was spotted quickly and log signed. An interesting concept. Thanks Seemyshell.

With the current climate of restrictions lifting, its time that we are all allowed to go Geocaching once again.
To help stop the spread of Covid-19, The Australian and NSW Governments requires everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is my personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this pandemic will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, by staying home.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, I have decided to disable all my caches and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find on any of my hides whilst the caches are disabled.
Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to bringing my caches back into play as soon as the health crisis abates, and stay safe.
Cheers

We'll buy our SIM Card today and like to do this cache on 6th February!
So here are two - who wants to be the third participant?
Bigerchen (from Germany)
Edit: Activation of Aldimobile SIM has worked! I'm ready to build a team!

We will be in Sydney on Feb 6. Hopefully we will be able to get a SIM card for our phones and do this one. Fingers crossed!
Not one I expected to knock over but wondering around with a group for an event and here I am. Tftc
Took the opportunity to grab this cache while folks from the nearby event were looking for waypoints. The tech worked easy enough and coords were grabbed quickly. The group headed to GZ and had the cache in hand in a few moments. Thanks Seemyshell.
Today we headed into the city on the big yellow B-Line bus, taking advantage of the cheap Sunday $2.80 per head capped Opal Card fares, to attend FIRESIDE796’s “Shipwrecked in Hyde Park” Event being held in Hyde Park. We then walked down to Chinatown and collected another stage of the "Where Art Thou Lab" Adventure Lab cache, before hopping on a tram to Pyrmont for a newish Traditional cache and yet another of the "Where Art Thou Lab" Adventure Lab cache stages. After that we caught a tram back to Chinatown, then another tram down to Circular Quay, where we then walked up to Observatory Hill for a new TFTC cache. Then it was a longish walk over to The Domain Yurong Precinct for the last of the Where Art Thou Lab" Adventure Lab caches, stopping off along the way to drop off the special mission Geocaching NSW TB at the final GZ of “At The Governor’s Pleasure”, then back to Circular Quay to board a Manly Ferry for the homeward journey. This was the 1st of 9 finds for the day.
Whilst running around Hyde Park doing FIRESIDE796’s temporary MultiCache, in order to locate the final GZ of his Event (yes it was an unusual style of Event), we teamed up with ziggiau and Paul_the_Hippy to do this MobCache. With us being mostly solo cachers we rarely get the opportunity to do these MobCaches, so this was an opportunity not to be missed.
Arrived at the posted coordinates, between The ANZAC Memorial and The Pool of Reflection, and then proceeded to huddle together with our Smart Phones to get “into the zone”. We soon had all three phones locked in and were rewarded with a set of coordinates for final GZ, so off we all went.
Arrived at final GZ and made a quick find, with ziggiau being the first to spot the little fella, and then all of us signed the log before replacing the cache container as it had been found.
We didn’t visit inside The ANZAC Memorial today as, with my late father being a WWII veteran, we have visited on many other occasions. Lest We Forget. TFTC Seemyshell.

With accomodation booked for a weekend with a show at the Opera House, that was unfortunately cancelled, we decided to make the most of it anyway, and find a few caches with our newly available time. Started with a Mystery MobCache, collecting information for a Multi, and a walk along the Tank Stream from Hyde Park to Circular Quay for an Adventure Lab.
Standing in the light drizzle, three phones out trying to make the MobCache work and whether the coordinates on the phone screen were the coordinates for GZ, we had to check again. The same numbers appeared and so we were now be certain. Off to GZ, and could it be a on this structure beyond the fence, no chance. Something caught my eye, but spiderwebs obstructed our view. Soons another set of fingers found the pesky little container. Names were added to the log and we soon moved on.

To good forr us this time. We will be back to findd another time if its still there
Managed to get the coordinates all on my own, one of the benefits of travelling with multiple devices . Made it to the final first thing this morning and there were commuters everywhere, still managed to check a few places though, without success. Came back about an hour later after checking out from my hostel, much less people about but still I couldn't find it. Next time I'm in Sydney I'll be sure to seek this one out.
Not sure how i missed this last time, but glad to get this off my DNF list!
Log is in amazing shape with plenty of room left.
Thanks for the creative hide. This is my second mom find.

Did a mob find with Mr MR and a muggle friend and it put us right in the picture. TFTC.
A few weeks ago, with the aid of a muggle, Clazza and I grabbed the coordinates. Unfortunately, the group of muggles we were walking with would not countenance a detour or any delay so we didn't attempt to find the cache that day.
Today, Clazza and I met up to complete the task. It was a quick find in the rain, which kept the muggles away.
Thanks for pioneering this cache form Seemyshell, a favourite from me.
