28/8/21 Find #4967
Today called for a spontaneous journey north with Fangsoki and Pprime. We decided to head towards Maryborough in search of a couple of archived caches before heading out to Tuan Forest. Along the way I checked and noticed a couple of older caches that I was particularly keen to collect as well.
We were hopeful of a find here and made our way past the barking dog - nothing to sow right the cache name I’m sure, and in to GZ. It was an easy find here tho had to be cautious of thorns. Hardest part was the lid removal - I tried first, followed by Pprime, followed by Fangsoki who told Pprime to let a man do it. After no success it came back around to me…. And I achieved the successful removal! Sorry lads!
All in great condition with this cache, including both camo and contents.
Thanks for the cache Holly_101.

Kidnapped and forcibly taken north for an afternoon of unplanned geocaching ... guess I don't really mind. Great day with 1MinnieMoo and Fangsoki. Fangsoki had done some research on likely-still-there geocaches, like this one. We wondered in and picked our way carefully around the thorns and 1MM spotted the nicely camo'd prize sitting safe and dry. Took a bit of effort to open but all good inside here. A great container.

Thanks Holly_101 for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #9829}* Cool

1MinnieMoo, Pprime, and I headed north for a random trip for the day. I had eye-spied at this cache as possibly still being there.

We parked up and made our way to GZ. 1MinnieMoo found the prize but it took some effort to get into the clever container. We soon gained access and signed the log. It was in good condition.

A great little hide in a nice area. TFTC Holly_101 Smile

My 1,000th find in Australia!!!!!!!

1,000 caches have taken me to every state and territory in the country, and have included some challenging puzzles, a multiday trip, a 100-cache series, and even caches I've had to kayak for. It's been fun and exciting and I'm ready for 1,000 more

The container and the milestone both merit a favourite point.

Found at 12:01 PM GAFF1.
We were expecting some sort of a tree climb, or a paper bark tree, but when we started the final approach to GZ we had this strong sense of déjà vécu! We were sure we were here last year, but why didn't we do this cache? Maybe the ground was too wet at hat time?
Well today we made it to GZ and started battling through nasty vines and trip wires and there was a nice camoed cache that we were appreciative of the effort taken to disguise it.
Thanks Holly_101.

Hi there Holly_101.

We cached around Maryborough today before catching up with friends that are house sitting nearby. Our total today was 13 caches & we DNF'd 1. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels as we continue our nomadic wanderings around Australia.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Dropped Trackable:** "Team AUSSIE, AUSSIE, SANDLAPPER Geocaching Road Trip 2015 Tag".

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

A planned day around Maryborough. Weather not to hot so walked a few kilometres gathering the first 6 caches, rest we were able to drive to.
All caches today were in good order except one which didn't have a container, only a wet log in a plastic bag. SLTFTC

Headed here from around the corner at the nearby trad and found a pretty good access point, but due to Seff’s whimpering from the back seat I declined to take VDP through the ditch. Swellerfungus was not impressed; gruttering something about being made to walk all over Queensland… Luckily Seff is a blackbelt in tuning out Fungus’ mutterings, and he has been teaching his grasshoppers (Jez and I) his ways Razz. Fungus earned his keep by making a nice quick find here though. Back to the car and onwards to Bundaberg to find a place to camp. TFTC

A long weekend usually leads to a well planned and executed attack by the Bromance on some unsuspecting rural township. Sadly that is not the case for this trip. Last weekend I reminded the lesser two members of the Bromance that we had still to think about where we may go for the upcoming long weekend. CrookedPete told us that he would rather set sail in the SS Minnow both gilligan and maryanne than come away with us left the door open for JeznDez. Apparently it takes two cachers to fill the spot of one CP (editors note - even with two people in the back there was never a hint of anything lost, missing or forgotten, and absolutely no stories of old forestry mills in the areas we visited). We decided only on Wednesday this week that we would once again attack the Bundaberg area and its surrounds, so the JEFF App went to work to hastily put together the semblance of a list (editors note - there was no colour in the spreadsheet, and a D/T rating that only suited SOME members of the group!).

It is funny how some cachers are so precious about their cars! I mean really why COULDN'T this one be a park and grab! haha. A bit of dodging the water to het to GZ, and a quick find of this cammoed cache container. Thanks for the cache.

Dez managed to get Victor Del Prado in along the driveway and close to GZ, but still not close enough for Swellerfungus' liking (I think he prefers just reaching out of the car door to find caches at times). Still, he was the one who discovered the well disguised cache container and added our names to the log book. We then headed off towards Bundaberg with an eye out for somewhere to set up camp for the night. TFTC

Another perfect warm winter day for a drive around while at Maryborough.
Not many muggles around and a good quick find here. Wink

Good coords and some good camo to help it hide as well.

Thought I'd tidy up those 4 green boxes in Maryborough today to give me a clean map of Smile again, but not to be, one eluded me, another day.
This one was a fairly easy find after dodging all the spikey vines, be careful.
All Razz with the cache, with the size of the container, be wise to invest in a spiro note book for a log book Big Grin

The second one on my morning walk - what an unusual container. Well done. Be careful of the thorny branches - I managed to scratch myself and bled like a pig. TFTC

12-Oct-16
Returning home and visited these two new ones that have appeared since my last visit. After finding the other one just a short distance away I made my way along the grassy drain and as I got close to GZ the GPSr pointed me in one direction. Wallked past the Shetland pony and we had a chat. At GZ the chooks next dfoor also wanted to have their say.

Quick find. Co ordinates 4 meters out for me but I thought about the additional hint and looked in one direction and spied somethng that did not look right. A little bit of the colour of the continer was peeking out. I replaced the container in its spot so that no colour now shows. Watch out for the thorny vines at ground and waist level.

Signed log YOF as that is what I use on small and micro logs to save space on the paper. Log allready a little tatty. Now to walk back to the Geomobile and drive the twopointfive hours home to Nanango.
