Reperio 14:19Day 5 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Eden to Canberra, and it was another long but fantastic day of geocaching. As it had rained overnight, the bush land we had to walk through in the morning was quite wet, and so getting to some of the caches was made a little more tedious and difficult. Our goal for today was to complete the VB series, and then head towards Canberra later in the evening. Fortunately most of the caches we searched for were found, and there were certainly some fantastic containers along the way.Upon walking these trails we came upon an Echidna, which junior MV absolutely loved seeing. As we were within 20m of the cache, I wandered off to find the cache while junior MV sat and observed the Echidna.Gratias Boeing737As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

No PP for us today. TFTC though.

After camping at Tantangra for a few nights (having to move camp at the end due to high winds) it was time to move onward to Bermagui for the rest of our annual fishing trip. Grabbed a few more caches along the way. I've driven past this series a few times now but never had time to stop and complete. Glad I did as this is a nice little reserve despite being quite dry at the moment. Nice spot, unfortunately no platypus today. TFTC!

Yay. Finally get to see a platypus in the wild. 4 actually.

After the easy find I took a rest at the nearby seat, it would seem this reserve was purpose built for caching! Thanks

Day #4 [17-2] of 5 for my trip away. It’s sad leaving the beach because reality has just started calling me. I know I’m still on holidays until the 20th but it already calling. However, I’m not going to let that stop me from enjoy every moment I have left of it. I started the day by heading to the beach to see it one last time. I also went to the ‘Cranky Café’ and had a brekky wrap for breakfast. Next, it was time to head back to the motel, pack the car and head off to Canberra, which was today’s main mission. I will need to return to Merimbula, with the correct TOTT and hints to ones I DNF, so I can find the rest of them next time… yes of course, visiting the beach. I found many caches along the way, most of which were quick and easy find. A couple took a little longer to find because of either I was site seeing and/or because I couldn’t find the cache for quite some time. I arrived at my motel in Canberra at 4:30pm and just enjoyed rest in the room. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTC’s Big Grin
P.S. Sorry, about the generic logs. I will endeavour to edit them at some point in the future for the extended story, FP’s and/or photos. This is when I have more time on my hands.

Yea yes yea! Platypus was here! Although he was mostly on the other side, it was still exciting to see.
I forgot all about high grass, snakes and geocaching as I quickly walked down to the waterfront.
I closed the gate and remembered the cache! Luckily, as again my GPS was way off! Thanks!!!

A little damp inside. Gave a wipe out. Beautiful spot. No platypus today.

Today was the second day of my trip to Nimitabel and Bemboka. I headed down Brown mountain for Bemboka and found my way to the riverside reserve to do the series of caches on the walk in this reserve. It is a great area, and it was full of wildlife. The long wet grass lead to very wet feet, but I made it all the way round and found each of the caches. I then headed home with a stop in Cooma and a few along the highway. A great weekend and lots of caches.

Thanks for the cache Boeing737

So grateful to have been able to step away from the madness for a couple of days with GLISS! and K8TYBEE, to help mark K8TYBEE’s birthday. Heading home today but couldn’t resist meandering home via some little cache trails and sweet counties towns. Been watching the news diligently to keep track of all the latest on the covid news. So far things have continued to remain clear down here. Fingers crossed that continues! Thanks for the cache.

With our masks and sanitizer we are out in the area for a couple of days, adventuring for my birthday with nibletricecakes and GLISS! TFTC

Log a bit damp but easy find, nice walk

I liked the nearby bench. The log was wet, but I still managed to write on it. I found the cache lying on its side, which maybe allowed water in. I left it standing up. After this the furthest cache, heading now back towards my car. TFTC Boeing737.

13-May-21
After setting up camp at the nearby camping ground/ sports ground we walked along the road to the cemetery to do this series of caches
Well despite being up high this cache had a bit of water in it so I tipped it out, luckily the log was water proof so signing it was not a problem

A really nice break in our trip to Merimbula. Never been here before and it was a little gem. Caches were all in good condition and easily found. The stump at #1 was indeed full of some undesirable items but this in no way impeded our ability to sign the log and the warning is more than sufficient.

Geowife allegedly spotted two platypus (although I didn't see them myself). TFTC B737 and for placing and maintaining this series.

Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. After parking the caravan at the adjacent camp ground we were out finding caches. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to Boeing737 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Nice little weekend away with fitzy_1965 catching up with friends in Merimbula.

After a chilly night and rather windy morning in Nimmitabel, we packed up camp and headed off for a day of caching before arriving in Merimbula for the night.

Next stop was this gorgeous little reserve. Would have been much nicer if it wasn't so windy and wished we had more time to stop and check out the platypus area.

All caches were found quickly on our walk around the loop.

18,677. Found with minniek on a caching run down to Merimbula and region.

Heading down to Merimbula with minniek for some caching and to catch up with some good friends. After camping overnight at Nimmitabel we headed off this morning to continue our caching journey. The walk around the reserve was great despite the high winds keeping us on our toes. Quick find at GZ.

Thanks Boeing737 !! Awesome little series !

Cheers !

Cache 4587 on 10 Feb 2019

A caching mission! This time organised by KittyKatch to grab some new caches from Moruya to Broulee. Quite a few us joined the walk on a lovely Saturday . TikvaNZ joined me for the drive and we decided to grab a few more caches beforehand and afterwards. On the Sunday, we headed south and ended up doing a caching circuit, Moruya, Bega and then up the hill to Cooma and home again to Canberra. A fantastic trip planned!!

This cache: chest high fork, lovely spot near the river. Photo attached

Thanks Boeing737 for the cache and the fun!

What a beautiful spot. Unfortunately we were way too early to see any of the locals. But certainly am coming back to try again. Maybe a little later in the day. A great spot to rest TFTC

Absolutely soaking wet!!!!!
Unable to sign the log.

Container replaced with waterproof paper. Make sure you BYO pen. As per the GC rules, if you don’t sign the log, you can’t claim a find.

The CBR_Grahams are off to the coast for a welcome holiday, but what better thing to do to break up the drive than to visit a really cool little town and soak up some of its history and great reserves.

We parked just outside the cemetery, it felt wrong taking the car inside even though the sign indicated it was possible. My girls spent a lot of time reading the head stones and reflecting on the extremely high infant mortality that was experienced more than a century ago (though they didnt use those words).

The river reserve is a really beautiful place and a pleasant surprise to find, so glad I did my research before hand and chose Bemboka for our leg stretch as it turned out to be so much more than a leg stretch. Thank you for bring us here!

This was the sixth hide found, and I had a fdouble take at first as the clue is exactly the same as the last one, so I had to check I was searching for the right one. The log was completely sodden, though we still managed to leave our mark. The geokids had some agonising times deciding over swaps... they liked all the little marble/glass stuff. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

This geocacher reported that the container is damaged. Saturated with water, logbook completely soaked through.

26-Dec-17
Decided to stop on the way to Merimbula and stretch the legs. The logbook is unfortunately soaking and beyond repair. Need to be replaced with a waterproof container and log book placed in a plastic bag. Managed to sign the back though. TFTC

Needs maintenance

24-Dec-17
Found on a trip to Mystery Bay via Cooma. We did the loop in reverse, starting with #1, then an anti-clockwise circuit, to visit 6, and the remaining. Thanks so much for bringing us to this spot, as by this stage on our walk about, it had clouded over, and though being only about 3.30pm there was platypus activity, and we saw them aaaaaawwwwww!!!! Unfortunately the cache is saturated, the log book soaked through, and could not be signed.

This was our favourite spot & we spent more time here than expected, watching the platypus playing about in the pool. This is truly the 'oasis' of the river. Thanks for the series & getting us out here Boeing737 & showing us what Geocaching is all about. Kutgw

#3373 3 of 6 today.

Day 1 of our trip out to the coast. CBRChic, myself joined Boeing737 and JetFusalage for some caching around the Bega/Merimbula area. We set out from Canberra about 11:30AM and headed down the Monaro for some caching fun.Today was hot. The car said 36C at one stage & it felt like it. We didn't grab too many caches on the way. Our first major stop was Bemboka to grab the new Beboka River trail just down behind the cemetery.

No platypuses today.

A beautiful spot by the river. I did not see a platypus today but the birds abounded. There was a frog sheltering under the cache which gave me a bit of a start, and it was spooked too. Thanks again Boeing737.
