STEVENSON CREEK #2 was transferred from Sicad69 to SurdiVisio. Appreciated the original cache owner Sicad69 for creating this well-hidden cache. Cache maintenance will follow soon
Find #: 3,777Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Warm spring morningCache condition: OKI decided to go for a jog around the Budjigal Reserve, and this was my second stop. The jog from #3 was fine, and there was a discernible trail up to GZ. Once there it was a fairly straightforward find - TNLNSL TFTC
Wanting to find all 3 Stevenson Creek geocaches today to continue my geostreak. However two proved difficult. This was my find here, along with two other finds elsewhere. Came here after work on a rainy day. Two hours earlier, thunderstorms converged over the Sydney region, with some hail much farther west of GZ. TFTC Sicad69 for my 2333th find. And the damp wet conditions arent much trouble for keen geocachers Gotta come back for the other two, perhaps when its more bright at daytime.
Friday caching with oldmorty.Left oldmorty down by the creek as he'd found this cache previously.I headed off uphill, and it wasn't long before I was waving back with CIH.Thanks to Sicad69 for the cache.Managed to sign a very damp log.
Quick find but the log was abit wet just like number 3 but managed to sign this one!Very nice hide tho. TFTC
I went on a post storm run/walk through the bushtracks down here finding a handful of caches. Started this started from #1 and then travelled to 3 and back. Found all 3. At this cache I discovered two TB, one of which was marked missing, and 2 pathrtags. Took 1 pathtag and the 2 trackables as the CO mentioned they could no longer maintain cache. Logbook is damp, but I got my name in with a highlighter. Left 2 art highlighters. TFTC
This cache , as well as all my caches are available for adoption as I have moved from the area and cannot maintain anymore.
We parked up near #3 of the series and walked down to #1 where we had a. DNF. It was getting towards sunset. We enjoyed the walk back along the track and thought it could be pretty wild after heavy rain. We found this container cozily tucked away. Cache check today and drop off a bunch of geocoins and travel bugs.
Great loot for the next to find.
Great loot for the next to find.
That took a effort, I was up and down trying to get to GZ eventually found a way and found it. Then afterwards noticed a Geotrail to the cache definitely took the log route there
What is a "nice walk" for an Australian is an adventure for a German. Walked, jumped and climbed the path, but only found one of three. A reason to come back.
Thank you for the can
Quick find by the Wife, I knew she'd come in handy one day!

After completing the CO's nearby Adventure Lab "William Thompson Masonic School" I decided to check out some other hides owned by the CO.
Wandered around checking all the rocks big and small and was about to give up when I turned around at it was just there under a small one. The gallery would of helped had I looked.

This is a great tough terrain track but most enjoyable as the sunlight was filtering thru on a 30° April day.
A nice high climb and a scout around resulted in quite a straight forward find. That camo !
Cache is is great shape. I left a guitar pick, a golf tee and a shiny old hard disk plater.
The trackable was still resting in there !
On the track back there was a 5 foot red belly black snake in the high stream running down the down side to the main creek. I was mid step when I saw a shiny black hose .... snake !!! I redirected my foot mid flight. I almost stepped straight on it.
A got a pic of him but you can only see the last part of his tail as he slithered left under a rock. Do see that the cache page has the Dangerous Animal attribute enabled.
TFTC - off to find #1 which sounds hard !

We had to come to North Rocks with ilook4geo, so thought we might as well pick up a few caches while in the area. Nice walk along the track, with plenty of muggles. We made this find in the obvious place. All good with the container and log. Thanks go to Sicad69 for placing this cache.
Nice easy find here with goingplaces2 after the walk continued. Log signed and replaced. TFTC.
Thanks for all the spiders webs, I think I’ve eaten so many that I’m starting to develop a taste for them
After being bit on a finger by something just a few minutes ago I was a bit jumpy getting this cache. And sure enough a big spider was hiding on the bottom of the cache and jumped of when I carefully took out the container. Thanx anyway.

Found after work today.
I thought it would be nice to spend a bit of time in the bush this afternoon so i took a detour and came after this cache.
After heading down the track from the Cook St end i headed for the GZ and began my search.
It took me quite a while to find the elusive little cache but i got there in the end.
Thanks.

Many hiding spots, but we did not find it. Moved away from creek, no luck this time.

This is the second day in a row where I've walked a creek trail looking for caches, going backwards from #3 to 2 to 1.
I've never walked this track before although I've driven past thousands of times. It is a lovely walk with very pretty creek bushland.
Once again I had trouble finding the cache but thanks to Everlasting's suggested co-ordinates I found myself in an area that better matched the hint and then found the cache.
SL and visited some TBs then decided to walk on to #1 or is that backwards to #1.
Once again many unloved days for this cache.

Had a great walk along the trail here today, exploring the many caves along the way. Despite being close to home I don't think I have ever walked this section of trail before.
Cache wise the walk wasn't too successful with this being my only find out of three attempts.
This was an easy find as I spotted the camo on approach. Log was signed, TB was collected and cache replaced as found.

This took far longer then needed as I was looking in all the wind spots. Great spot. Master Q loved all the different coins. Picked one and swopped. Favourite point for location and series.

After a quick find back at #3, this one needed a bit more hunting but as soon as we saw the cover, we knew we had it. The GPS wanted to be about 12m NW, but these gullies always challenge the technology. Thanks again Sicad69.
After having no luck at #1 in this series, Shoes Junior and Mr S headed back along the creek for this one. Luckily we were able to find this one. TFTC.
This was our last cache for the day, and I enjoyed looking for it. It was a good hiding spot. TFTC
Lots of little hidey holes but once widened the search came up with the goods.
I followed the track down from #3 with plenty of birdsong
My iPhone wasn't playing fair close to GZ so I put it away and used geo-sense

After success with #3 in this series, it was time to track down #2. Near the stream crossing we made our turn towards GZ and headed on up, following the compass on the GPSr. Methinks the tree cover put me a bit off track because initially I was coming up with nothing.
I checked the clue; yes, we seemed to be in the right place with the correct elements and a potential hiding place. However, nothing there. Hmmm, I had seen an empty Ziploc bag earlier; I wonder whether that was from a muggled cache?
Anyway, perhaps there was another spot that matched the clue, so I expanded my circle of search. Stepping back a bit I suddenly noticed a good spot that looked promising. Yes, success!! There was a decent-sized container.
My little son is generally very eager to see what's inside the box, so it's always much more fun when there is a container of some size. I generally don't trade, so sometimes it's a bit disappointing for him when he sees something he'd like, but we don't have anything to swap. This time he had specifically brought along a yo-yo, and was thrilled to exchange it for the Octonauts stickers.
Signing duties completed, the container was tucked back in its hiding place and we made our way to the last (#1) cache in this series, further down the track.

The cache was indeed 14m off as another cacher reported but if you remain on the track and don't veer to the left you will see the camo.

Continued on from number 3, still a pleasant stroll along this nice bit of bushland. Then up the hill for a quick find on this one. Thanks Sicad69.
Finally found some time to sit down and catch up on my logs, some I have good memories of and others were just another cache on just another day.
Needed somewhere to take my geodogs for a little bush walk and I remembered there was a couple of caches still in this reserve that I needed to find. This time I had on the appropriate shoes and also parked at the parking WP for #3. It was a nice walk and a straight forward find although my GPS had me 15 metres from posted coords, could be the tree coverage. SL #2936 on streak day #1710 TFTC

Carrying on with this series. Found #2 pretty quickly, carried out the signing duties and replaced adding a little bit of cover because it was quite visible when we found it. Now on to #3 ... SL, TFTC.
Wow - coming here after finding #3 of the series, l can't believe how easy it was. I had looked for this one once before, and l was WAY off. I chatted to a neighbour of the creek when l was here last time and l can now see that l was in the wrong area - even though my phone told me l wasn't on that day! Not sure what happened that day but today l made the find! Walking up the trail and l glanced over and l saw it! I almost walked right past it! TFTC K =)
GPS had us about 7 metres off and I walked past it, but Geo-wife spotted it's location. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Selected this one as the cache of the day, since it was one of the closest un-found ones. I also knew from where to attack, since I had been doing #1 the other day.
Due to work I could not go earlier than almost 7 pm, which meant that it was starting to get dark when arriving at GZ. At first neither the published coordinates nor the suggested ones were of any help, probably because of the trees overhead. Started almost to get a bit of panic, since I really needed a find for the streak (242 days and counting), when using the geo-sense rather than the GPS I eventually spotted something which turned out to be the hide. Signed the log and went back to the car, scratching my legs from all the mozzie bites.

Walking down to this cache while reading previous logs and taking in the hint, told me what I need to do and I did the team Canary thing and spotted the place where the cache would be hidden. Did the legals and replace as found. TFTCM

#3461 (2 of 4 today)
So many new caches close to home - thanks **Sicad69** - so do I keep rationing or binge?
Decided to binge this afternoon. The easy answer is the *STEVENSON CREEK* series.
I'd been there previously for a cache, and approached totally the wrong way - down the steep slippery slope from Canyon Drive (not recommended). I note the old cache was located between *#2* & *#3*.
This time I parked in a side street and came in on the trail from Cook Street. Yes, much easier.
Last time I came in as the light was dying. Again so such problem today.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Continued on from my last find.
Went past the trail's river crossing to find a track leading off to the left - cachewards. So followed it.
But the coordinates pushed me away from the track to an area where I spotted nothing. Checked the hint and then rechecked some spots.
Nope.
Went for the logs. Aah. OK. Tried **Rainbow Spirit's** coordinates. How about here? CIH!
Yep. Stay close to the track and you won't go far wrong.
Completed signing duties and replaced. Now for the last one...

Had a good search but did not find the cache. However the mozzies definitely found me. They say persistence pays but it didn't for me today. Off to #1.
I spent some time wandering around it spots that just didn't look right, then I read Canary's log, and there it was. Try .814/.148
A lovely walk to GZ. But then the GPS led me a little too far off track without luck. I returned to the track and let my eyes make the find about nine metres from my GZ.

Found it on Bathurst Sunday after watching the first few laps and deciding that nothing was going to happen for a while. I actually walked past and looked at the spot before realising that I'd overshot GZ, my first instincts were correct and I at least signed the right date this time. TFTC
Thought I would go for a walk down this creek to collect this new series. Lovely walk with very few people around. Needed a PAF for this again as the GPSr was bouncing all over the place. I reckon I was 18m from GZ at the find.

8/10/16. 5:22 PM. Cache #4286.
3rd of 5 finds this afternoon - Baulkham Hills, Winston Hills.
During a week holidaying and caching up at the Blue Mountains, I noticed a flood of new caches popping up inside my home 15km. First full day back today, so I had plenty of options and chose to come out this way.
After finding #3, I worked my way back west along the trail to this one. Close to GZ and I didn't take too long to find the side track that I needed. However, I soon found that this area had many hiding places that resembled the hint and once again the tree cover's impact on the signal meant I was in circles again.
No, I can't resort to a PAF again...must resist...headed back to the side track and followed it a little bit further, then saw likely camo. Bingo, cache in hand. Hmm, I get 9m out here, but that is with an iPhone, so I dunno. Signed the log, replaced it and continued back to #3. TFTC.

*FTF* 1245 (1st of 3 for the day- woohoo!!) did have a bit of trouble with the phone app which was refusing to upload my finds then it must have decided to add a few logs - because it looked like I'd managed to make 7 finds on 3 hides............. a good trick!
There I was sitting at home about to start doing some tax stuff & this popped up close to home, so into the car (easier said than done - the road was closed because they're resurfacing - got out just in time).....
parked as suggested and a short pleasant bush walk down to the cache. Nice quick find, then onto the next ones.
