After the nice weather this week we thought we would try and make the most of it and come and grab a few of the Devonport caches.only recently joined up to premium so this was out first real tree climb.great views of the city from this spot and a great container
Today saw us tackle some of the caches in the Devonport area, accompanied with KirsTim, yorkshirekiwi83 and vistra. Stopped here at the nearby bench for a quick bite to eat, before making this swift find. Very well hidden, thanks for the hide.
It was a nice day to head out caching, so I teamed up with Kirstim, Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vamber to do some caching around the Devonport area. We signed the logs as KYVV (or a variation thereof) to represent our caching names. After finding a few caches around Narrow Neck & Cheltenham Beaches, we the drove around Devonport, knocking off caches that we hadn't found previously. I scaled the tree, had a look around and soon found the nicely hidden cache. TFTC!
Vamber, KirsTim, Vistra and I spent the morning in the area locating some of Devonport and surrounds caches. We had a couple of monkeys with us and we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
Out and about in Devonport with Vamber, Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra today. We signed the log as KVVY (as our initials). Luckily we had a couple of monkey climbing boys on the team, so it wasn't too difficult for Vistra to grab the nicely hiddent cache, thanks
Being mid week in between rain showers there wern't may muggles around to worry about. Having read some of the logs, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't really a hard climb to reach the cache. Quickly logged before heading on my way, TFTC
Found ourselves with a spare 25 minutes before kiwiscots music lesson was due to start. As an avid tree climber she was keen to be the retriever. with no time wasted the cache was in hand and log signed. Very few muggles to contend with considering how busy the roads are and lack of parking - guess people ferried over to the city. TFTC
Nice view of the skyline of Auckland!!! And well camouflaged. Luckily I was with Tarzan and he had a good eyesight. We found the cache after a little while and signed the logbook.
We also placed the geocoin "Sam's Addict Geocoin", which we brought all the way from Germany, into the cache.
Have a nice onward journey, litte coin...

I used to live in flats on Anne St back in the day, I think then there was a plaque on the wall that mentioned the bear wall. We were that way today getting a different cache but the wall is covered in ivy now, we couldn't find the plaque either because it is moved on or hidden...or of course my memory is playing tricks on me and it wasn't where I remembered.
At GZ, we took a look at the description and prepared for some monkey business, but in the end geowife didn't need to do too much and spotted the cache just fine. I minded the dog while she was in the tree signing the logs. Not too many people around today, this must be much harder in summer time I should think when the crowds are out.
All good here, log signed and replaced. Thanks for the cache.

Did the Tarzan trick, but failed to locate Jane. Hope the cache is still there.
Found the cache. But on the roots and it was empty without logbook. It's now a little bit higher again.
One of 12 caches located in Devonport today. Headed past the cache on our first round because of muggles on the nearby seat. Chanced our luck later and the coast was clear. Didn’t really want to spend too much time up the tree not knowing where the cache was likely to be hidden. Fortunately spotted it fairly quickly once I’d climbed up just a little. #1361. TFTC.
An easy after lunch tree investigation with Diziet, while watching the giant cruise ship in the harbour. TFTC
Found with a muggle friend who was willing to climb for me. Spotted it after a little looking. Very cool camo tftc
Geokid was prepared to climb to the top, which fortunately wasn't needed. Great container. Thanks for the cache.
After finishing the Devonport Santa Parade, this was a fun find with all the family up the tree.
Without my trusty team member who normally does this sort of cache I had to consider whether it was a cache that was within my capabilities. Decided that it was and glad to make the find. TFTC
In Auckland for the weekend to visit friends and walk the Coast to Coast track on Sunday, so Saturday was a touristy day. We got the ferry across to Devonport, where we enjoyed a Devonshire tea and admired the charming village before heading out for some caching. My Auckland friends were quite intrigued to hear about the Bear Wall. It's one of the things I love about geocaching: and I little bits of trivia ... It was a quick find and I left a travel bug behind. Hopefully it will survived Saturday night's stormy weather. TFTC!
Hanging out in Auckland for a few days with Cached, so exploring the city via caches - she was too quick, started climbing by the time I'd put my things down
Many thanks GeoTrioNZ from the Wacky one

At 45, I had considered my tree climbing days behind me, but apparently not.

Easily found with timing in between walkers and locals who inisited on bring captive bears to teh same seat as the one I wanted to use to sine that log, all good except for the blloood running down my elbow from a meeting with the bear I p[resune up the tree. Hmm,m all oki, thanks!
Mr Coblet channeled his inner monkey and disappeared up the tree, getting a bit carried away and going higher than necessary. The cache was spotted during the slightly clumsier descent. Great hiding spot . TFTC
I had been saving this one for a fine day, but since I was nearby after getting the first to find on the CO's new multi, I thought I would have look this afternoon. I parked up and crossed the road to GZ. The wind has really picked up and the water is very choppy. Not sure about the sense of climbing a tree in this weather, but at least it is dry thanks to all to wind. I did a 360 circuit of GZ but failed to spot my prize. Nothing for it but to monkey up in the blustery conditions. Ended up climbing up past the hide. Luckily I spotted it during a repositioning. Completed the formalties before retreating from the wind. Cheers for the cache placement!
#158. Tree climbing abilities tested but not stretched too much! Up and down before the rain set in. TFTC.
It's Labour weekend and I should be at the Mega in Turangi, but instead I'm in Auckland collecting caches before having to work tomorrow, well thats life.
So with a few things planned for the day, it was a chance to work my way around the city and see what I would be able to collect.
Having finished the work part of my visit to Auckland it was back over to Devonport for a relaxing breakfast and a quick find at this cache. thanks for the great placement
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

STF. Did a quick survey on arrival without spotting a clue. Up the tree I went and had an exploratory on a branch without luck. Rethought the problem, Aha a possible spot and there it was. Phew, was not looking forward to a serious climb. Tftc
Can't believe my first ever FTF involved me climbing a tree at almost midnight. Tftc
