Probably best to find this one after hours due to the road works and traffic lights and signs etc. A nice wee hide.
Having a wee 2 day jaunt to Orewa for school holiday weekend. We have got lucky and today is a cracker day. We are collecting some geo caches as we adventure there. So much road works! We managed to pull into this side though and I saw straight away where we were going to try first. Bang on! After we found it my kids told me the story of finding a plastic cache rat when out caching with there dad a few weeks ago in a similar set up. Container is being held together by the tape around it but log was dry. TFTC
**20,951**It looks like Piggy will live to see another day, so no piggies were shot in the locating of this cache. Nice quick find here thankfully, as the day is starting to cool off and head towards evening. TFTC
Gave the resident cockroach a short shift before signing log. Beats me how they get in there. Tftc
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are in Auckland Auckland for a break and we are exploring the region while we are based here. Today was damp in the morning and the rain got heavier the later in the day it got. We had a great time despite the weather.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Headed up this way again as we spotted a trail of challenge caches we had qualified for, so thought to make a day of it...Joined by team HeMaLuDy, well actually HeMa only .....
Parked up and headed along the trail to this cache ....
Luckily the weather was on point for the walk, but still managed to get soaking socks as the grass was saturated from the days before rain and a heavy due this morning...
The cache was found in good condition ....
TFTC.

The Stik-A-Crane's planned to do the nearby costal walk and the surrounding roads. Mr and Mrs HeMaLuDy decided to join them for the adventures. Beautiful weather allowed us to really enjoy the very pleasant coast and our day out. A nice quick find here. TFTC
#10,649. I have flown up for the mega event this weekend. Came early to get some caching done around Auckland. Another very hot summers day in Auckland as well. I was planning on doing the challenge caches in this area but East Coast Bays road was closed due to road works and so had to abandon that plan and instead do other caches in the area. Took a big detour past Dairy Flat airport to get here! OK I wont shoot the messenger. Especially if he delivers me another cache find. Parked and wandered down to GZ. The messenger is safe this time. Signed the logsheet and returned the cache where found. Thanks G-2 for hiding it here.
It's strange that this one isn't found more often, guess everyone is so keen to get to Stillwater that it is overlooked.
We pulled over in the convenient parking spot and made a quick find before continuing on our way.

Last cache of the day and an easy park alongside. Found in the obvious place and probably New Zealand's driest cache, all good and after signing replaced as found.
After a quiet morning at home and local on Sunday morning the weekend cabin fever was building and a desire to head out 'anywhere' was the plan. And so it was that the Exploding Snuffbox enigma was finally found and finished, followed by a 'local loop' to Wainui/Stillwater and home! Just a half dozen finds but a couple were over a year since last found, 2 years for one of them.

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

*Good to see some more caches in this area*

Find number 6594. Decided to do a couple of days caching in the area. With an emphasis to try to clear the Dalmatians. After parking up in Riverhead and riding the bicycle from there. I only got a few done before the batteries on my GPS went flat and when I lost phone coverage I had to change plans. In the end I ended up with 29 caches today and spent the night at Murawai.
Day 2 was. Murawai, Dalmations and then onto Orewa for the night. Another 50 caches done.
Day 3 was Shakespear and Stillwater. 29 More caches before heading home to Hamilton. A
A stop on the way to Stillwater. Nice quick find as well.
Thank you for the placement.

Found on the way TO Bluff, FROM Cape Reigna. Day 25 of our hike. This road is awful for walking.
#1026. Day 35 walking the Te Araroa trail and the 26th cache I found along the way. Today was a mammoth day, walking from Orewa to Mount Eden - exactly 50 kilometers. I walked right past this point and while there wasn't anything particularly spectacular about it, it was a good place to stop and rest while I contemplating walking the rest of this awful bit of road to Stillwater.
I'd read the hint beforehand, and that enabled me to walk right up to the cache and put my hand on it without even consulting my phone once at GZ. Sometimes it's nice when that happens.
Thanks for the cache! [Here's the link to my Te Araroa blog for the day](http://teararoa.g2.co.nz/2019/10/31/day-35-orewa-to-mount-eden/) if anyone's interested!

As it was a long weekend and today being better weather than yesterday, work having been done around the house it was a chance to get out and find the odd cache in the company of 11HPG11.
Today we managed to find a grand total of 58 caches with only 9 DNF's along the way, and even managed to be home by 4,30pm so as not to annoy Mrs Dragon too much (although privately I believe that she may rather enjoy a day at home without an annoying husband being about the house).
Setting out from Hamilton nice and early meant that we managed to locate quite a few caches without any traffic to contend with, in fact Auckland is rather pleasant at this time of the day without both people and vehicles to contend with.
Having collected a few around Silverdale it was time to head for Stillwater collecting caches along the way, dawn was now in full swing and the cache was soon in hand.
Thank you to all the CO's for their hard work in making this day possible, in both the placing the caches and maintaining them. We both had a great day.

When Cats&Dragons suggested a day in Auckland collecting a few caches I was very keen. When I checked the weather forecast I wasn't quite as keen. Determined to stay dry I packed all my wet weather gears and my gumboots. Was happily surprised to not need any of this and we were treated to a stunning day of great weather and great caches. Logs were signed with either HOAC or a combination of our names.
Noted the previous log but a quick search soon found the cache in the obvious place. That is not the cache in the photo

Couldn't find anything except this container that has called down the hill and looks to be filled with sludge. Might need to check on your cache :/
No barrier to finding this cache but yet, a barrier t'was in. FMZ stayed in the car for this one, but it was I who made the brave move for retrieval.
This cache was no barrier for Gorby and I on our way back down into Stillwater to pick up some cache finds we hadn't cleaned up yet. TFTC
Found this one on the way back home after wonderful Sunday in Stillwater area. All good at GZ. TFTC
The aim of the day was to make the final 10 needed for last souvenir, the world turte, I was already going to be on a hike today, so it was to fit in what I could around it. Nice quick find, exactly what I need as i am on my way home. TFTC
I thought I would pop out for a little bit, between other duties, before the rain arrives this afternoon and find a few hides. Caching via the smart phone today, so sticking to the more straight forward types of hides. I took advantage of the parking right next to GZ. Put my hand straight on this one. Cache is in great condition, but no sign of the trackable listed on the cache page. There are road works happening near GZ, but, so far, GZ is unaffected. Cheers for the cache placement!
Surprised to find yet another a cache so near our friends we are visiting. TFTC
Wow, a simple, uncamoed (is there such a word?) park n grab. I dont think Ive seen one of these from G2 before. Thanks.
Was heading out to do part of the Okura Bush walk with Jag50 and Merlot58. We were passing by this spot, so had to stop and find this cache. Parked close by GZ and rushed out to find this one.
This was a quick park and grab between gaps in the traffic on our way to the Okura Bush walk with Aiden29 and Merlot58.
Very easy find. Cache listing mentioned two trackables, but we only found one. We suspect the last finder has not yet logged the other.

I was out for a walk in Stillwater with a muggle friend today and took the opportunity to grab a few nearby caches before meeting up with her. Parked by GZ and made a quick find of the cache here. TFTC!
The geocoin listed wasn't in the cache.

Almost a driveby! a little tricky to get into the parking spot, but a gentle walk, and I soon had retrieved the cache
First glimpse of the esturary?

The only problem I had was a big black dog paying too much attention to what I was doing, so I signed the log in the Geovan and fido was gone when I returned the cache. Left: Save the Nature Geocoin. TFTC.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is eleven.
Cheers for the cache.

Nice cache, certainly well protected.
We sought this cache out specifically because it was listed as containing trackables it was however empty.

My first fir a long long time.
Very dry cache, with spare log too.
There was a wonderful scent of pine, and the cicadas were at full volume on this sunny afternoon.

Very hot day so appreciated the speedy park and grab. Now to venture further down the road. TFTC
The last few days have been the same old story, the last few days I tell myself the next day will be different, however yet again I find myself at about 10pm. With a last minute geocache to find to make sure I keep the streak going. After a fairly heavy debate over the dinner table of our Airbnb host/guests I find myself cacheless for the day. I walk up the road in the dead of night, flip flops on and no torch, so Fairy lights to improvise. Yes I was that mental man walking up the road in the middle of nowhere seemingly for no reason. Seems like every time I see someone in the same position now....they're probably geocaching. No Sign of Piggy so seems he is long gone! tftc
Nice quick park and grab on our caching day ! ( with merlot58)
Thanks for this newish hide .
Never been down this road before..

I was out for the day with Supernanny and stopped here for a quick park and grab.
Parked in the appropriate road and walked back to GZ, where we quickly had the cache in hand. Thanks.
Finding those caches closest to home today, no one about today so a nice quick park and grab. Thanks
On my way to visit my mum at North Shore Hospital and received a call from GAR (pulled over to take the call!) to say there had been a new cache published 20 minutes earlier and was sort of on my way. So I pulled off the motorway at Silverdale and went down East Coast Rd instead. With all the keen cachers around and a few other new ones in the area I wasn't sure I'd get there first so was nice to see a blank log in the cache - actually there were two and wasn't sure which to fill in! Picked up the Homing instinct TB and left 4 others (have had them 2 weeks since I haven't been out since then and unsure whether I'd have another opportunity today). Thanks for the unexpected excitement today G--2!
