I was taking a short break from driving and decided to go for this one. I parked nearby and walked to GZ. Once there I immediately spotted the hide as most of it was uncovered. I signed the log and replaced the cache and I tried to increase the amount of camo. I'm not sure how long this will stay in place. TFTC.

As I was driving home late last night from a very long and tiring day caching around Batemans Bay ticking off my 5000th milestone, got a text from HappyUke with an invite to join her and Finalf29 for a spontaneous cache run today. Possibly too tired to think sensibly but knowing they would do all the planning, driving and navigating, I readily agreed as the proposed PT numbers (plus a few others) would help with the mythical creatures challenge. Started the day up to Gryphon status and 40 smileys later I had the Dragon (with ten towards the last souvenir). As the sun had quickly plunged and the cold darkness made our searches more difficult, we turned back to the highway for the run home. HappyUke and Finalf29 were sitting on 40 and I was on 39 (they got one extra I had previously found exactly one year ago today) so my OCD kicked in and as we were going past this simple one that they had previously found, they agreed to one more quick stop so we could all be happy with our day’s tallies. Just not looking forward to writing 60 logs from two days and many hours on the road. Nice quick find as cache was up-ended and exposed a few metres away from the co-ords so replaced and added some camo.

A quick find by hubby here. Enjoying caching in Goulburn today. We've been sitting out the wet weather in Gunning which we decided would be more preferable to driving in the awful conditions. It’s a bit dryer today so thought we’d pop out and see what we can find before the next deluge hits Smile We’re on a slow trip home from the Alexandra Mega, caching where we can. TFTC Smile

Found on the 19/08/2017 at 2:09:00 PM.

Due to the severe weather warnings my weekend plans were cancelled. But I still had to get outdoors before I went crazy!
Due to a late start I didn't get to travel as far as I had planned, and also due to a few DNFs I didn't reach my expected quota for the day before it got too dark to continue. In the end I managed to find 16 caches.

Thanks for the all the caches.

With the long weekend upon us, plans were in place with FurfacesLL to head towards Helensburgh to do the newly released puzzle series and what ever comes up. Yesterday we did Helensburgh, around the Shire, drove to Sydney Harbour Bridge and then back to accommodation. Today we attacked a few more in the shire, then to Wollongong to reclaim the SES unfound we had last time, then towards Bowral, and even Goulburn [:p] Apologies for the generic logs.

Last cache grabbed before topping up fuel and heading home, log signed and cache replaced.

Thanks heaps to FurfacesLL for another awesome weekend away, thanks minniek for the cache placement Cool[^]Big Grin

We headed out on a geocaching weekend with Rapidlywild to collect the new puzzle trail in Helensburg and others along the way. The weather was not kind on Saturday on our trek up, in fact it was downright revolting at times, but we persevered through the rain, flooded roads and detours to collect the smileys.

After a full day and night of caching and grabbing a few hours sleep, we woke to a lovely sunny morning, so we collected a few more around Cronulla before starting our return leg to Canberra. On our way home we decided to return to an area which the last time we visitted had been flooded, so we called past and collected the ones that we previously DNF'd.

When a weekend caching with the boys comes along you grab it by the horns, with kids weekend sport washed out steeba, Hoojar and myself headed south with a goal of completing the Kangaroo power trail in Kowen Forest.

Over 2 days we found 150+ caches, walked through 679 spiderwebs, saw 310 kangaroos, were surprised by 8 deer, patted 1 echidna and stepped over countless fallen, all in the name of fun.

Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to our weekend and apologises for the generic log, but certainly doesn't detract from the hide or the fun we had. Smile

Another fantastic weekend away with The Rats and Steeba.

We had been trying for some time to get the timing right to head back to the ACT to knock over the Kowen 'Roo series. On our previous attempt, the Forest was closed. We thought the same would happen this weekend, when we realised that we were clashing with the Mont 24, so we came up with Plan B.

However, Steeba came through with the goods, access was granted, and even a Permit to drive and camp in the Forest was obtained... Excellent! So our plans changed at the very last minute, and we were back on for The 'Roo.

We found about 150 caches over the weekend, the three of us, along with Juno my geo-puppy. We walked, cached, talked and generally had an excellent time, as we always do on our caching trips away. We especially walked through some beautiful scrub in Goulburn and Kowen.

Thank you to all of the cache owners that placed caches that we found over the course of our trip. Sorry about the generic logging, I promise it does not reflect my enjoyment of your cache!

Cheers

After the event at the waterworks, I decided to find one or two more caches before heading home! This was the second. A nice easy find, but little did I notice the ants at GZ. Find #4 of 3646 at 10:10:00 AM on my Goulburn Invasion day out with mtrax - not my biggest one day total, but it was close, and seeing that I only found 68 caches in total for the whole of 2016 it is pretty impressive given my recent form!

Happy Uke and I Headed down to Canberra for the weekend to catch up with friends, attending an awesome event and clear the Earth of as many caches as we can. And we’ve got allot of work ahead of us. Too many caches out there just for us so we need as many people out there cleaning out as many caches claiming and clearing these caches from the planet.

We got this on the way back from Canberra, One of a few.

This was to be our last for the day.

Thanks!

Finalf29 and I had a fantastic three day holiday caching, bringing in the New Year, meeting up with old friends and making new ones. We were on our way home and thought we would grab a few along the highway...we got sixteen before rain and tiredness made us stop. Happy New Year!

This was our last for the day. It was starting to rain, but I was determined to find this one as I had met the joint young CO DeathKiller at the event two days before and said I would have a go at it. It was a nice park and grab, good hide and great camo...and answering your question...no don't change the name, it could be the beginning to a themed series...maybe "look up", "to the left", "don't be stumped" etc. Thanks for the cache and have a great year geocaching...looking forward to more of your caches Smile

Fitzy_1965 and I decided to head to the Near Years Eve Eve event in Goulburn via some back roads to pick up a few stray caches that had previously eluded him. After the event, I drove back to CBR with HappyUke and Finalf29 via few more caches in Goulburn. I found around 18 caches in total, scarcely making a dent in the caches in Goulburn - I will just have to come back!

10th cache for the day at 1200. This was my first Goulburn cache - yay! A quick find according to the chance name. I noticed that another caching team attending the event had signed the log before us! Thanks minniek!

5932. Found by baby&Mrs gopher on our travels to Goulbourn this morning to the event at 1145. Left Gungahlin and headed towards the north with a couple of stops to break the trip. Arrived with plenty of time to spare so went for a sight seeing tour of the village. This is a good cache with lots of hidden obstacles in place to make you think. SL Tnx death killer a favourite from us.

12831. Heading to the New Years Eve Eve Event in Goulburn with AngelG27 but we took the 'scenic' route in order to clean up a few areas for me Smile

Next find for the day. Finally arrived on the outskirts of Goulburn but there was a bit of muggle traffic around so I pulled over on the left hand side. Angel did the honours with this one as she wanted to grow her hair-stick collection while successfully finding the cache ! Signed the log, returned the cache, and we headed off to the next one.

Thanks minniek !! Nice location !

11/12/16. 4:47 PM. Cache #4571.
74th of 80 finds today - Carwoola, Primrose Valley, Captains Flat, Goulburn, Berrima, Picton.

A big day in the Queanbeyan area doing the Captains Flat Trail, plus a couple of others. On the way back home to Sydney, I broke the journey up with three detours at Goulburn, Berrima and Picton, and three caches in each town to get me to 80. A silly idea in hindsight as I was quite late getting home.

Came here from "Goulburn Ridge"; crossed the road and made the find in an obvious place. Berrima next, and "Remembrance - Version 2". TFTC.

I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” *Throsbyonchurch* and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
