Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 4: Rotorua to Whanganui via Taupo & Turangi.Signed while admiring the stunning scenery. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, squirrel nutcase tn koe~~
Thanks for your amazing cache squirrel nutcase. I really appreciate the time you took to set up your caches. I inserted a waterproof log. Found with Fisha1288 Cheers, Cympull.
Got the bugger - a previous DNF. Easy once you spot it! Log is sodden and needs replacing. TFTC.
No, tak to m do vody nikdo nedostane. Bahno stkalo a do pl metru. Pak jsem to vzala siln vedlej silnic kolem trailu s kekami a njak si odlovila. Kolem opt zvlnn kopekov zelen krajina, ovce a krvy. In the morning I went to the river for an earth cache and then set off in the direction of Rotorua. Along the way, I made stops at attractions and also at caches. It was beautiful, up to 25C in the afternoon. The path is scenic and leads past lakes and various geothermal features. I visited hot streams and a mud lake and in the evening I arrived at Lake Rotorua, where I will stay for 2 nights. Thanks to everyone for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
On our trip through New Zealand today a route from Toupo to Rotorura. Visited Waiopatu along the way and then had time for a few geocaches. Glad we found this one on our path. Thank you very much to CO for making this cache available. With warm geocache greetings from the Netherlands
We located the cache but didnt check it. Thanks to the last finder for replacing the wet logbook. We will monitor this hide and revisit on our next maintenance drive.
A rainy day in the BOP. Found the ones I could find quickly before heading back to Taupo. TFTC
Log damp, but assignable. Greetings from the Oregon Coast, USA. Cheers, and.cache on….
We're down in Rotorua for a few day with family and doing a spot of geocaching. Today we went down to Waikite Valley and picked up some caches on the way there and on the way back - great day! TFTC
#10,996. I am staying with my sister and her family in Rotorua for a couple of nights and today my mission was to drive down to Whirinaki to do the PWGT2 cache. I initially had to drive pass this one as the farmer was parked at the gate. But then he came up behind me further along the road so I pulled over and after he disappeared down the road I turned around and went back to locate the cache. Well I searched around the wrong pole at first but read a past log and saw it was hidden closer to the road. Oophs how did I miss that one. At GZ after a short search I suddenly saw the cache staring me in the face. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache where found. Thanks squirrel nutcase for hiding it here.
I had called it a dnf, then that one last look and voila. NOTE the grey pillar at the pole is part of the Chorus network so should be left alone.
On my bike now and didn't know that I was on the Te Ara Ahi trail, except the caches were called that! I was to biking back to be picked up near the GC45 memorial cache. I didn't realise the caches were all P&G through here. I had a good ride anyway.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather today, We walked and drove and I biked to a bunch of caches in around Rotorua.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

After visiting Waimangu valley, we thought we'd stop for caches on a less busy road
Stayed the night in Rotorua on our way up to Auckland to see the kids. Had lots of spare time to cache. Parked up near the main road and got the bike out. Good to stretch the legs and collect some smileys at the same time. No problems finding this one and log all fine. Thanks
#1022 - Tripping around the Rotorua area today. Tricky one here! Two likely spots it could be, we spent way to much time at the wrong spot. Once in the correct place found quite easily. TFTC
Great adventure today out and about. Was looking at the wrong place at first, trust the GPS. Hanging. Tight for parking through.
Another quick find while caching with our friends. Handy hint from previous comments
Spent some time looking at ground level which was a waste of time because the cache is hanging. GPS very accurate, cache signed and replaced, ty squirrel.
We spent a delightful day exploring around this lovely rural area, before heading home to Tauranga in the late afternoon. Labour week end holiday, but there were not too many people around. No need to PAF today! This was quite a quick find and the cache is all good. TFTC
Over from Tauranga for a couple of nights with grand daughter as it’s the school holidays. Cheers. All good here.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

A bit prickly around ground zone nowadays. Found enough wiring on the ground to tie this one into the tree. Should be a lot easier to retrieve.
Located this one on weekend visit to the area, quick park and grab, no problem with the find TFTC.
Finding parking nearby, I approached the obvious, and soon spotted the cache. Very happy to find this one, thanks squirrel nutcase for the hide
Got a bit sidetracked by another site. Once I spotted this one it was easy to find and a lot less blackberry!
Heading toward Rotorua for an afternoon event ...baging a few caches as we go ...thanks Squirrel
In Rotorua for a ten pin bowling tournament, time to find some caches down this road. Thanks squirrel nutcase for the cache.
Park n grab on my way home. good parking spot right on the cache travelling north. Dont recommend stopping if going south. TFTC
On our way down from Rotorua to Taupo we decided to take a short detour via Waimangu Road. This road is more suitable for pulling over the car when geocaching. Found all the caches including the ones arround the lake, expect for one DNF (or did not attempt actually). Thanks to all owners for hiding and maintaining them. However, some do have a "need maintainance" log.
Out to cache the Te Ara Ahi trail today on our e-bikes.
Ms M was tugging at the "fake" mushroom - lol.
Then I was allowed a turn and made the find.

#10,546. A good drive to Okaro Road in Waimangu. Fortunately GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition. Although the log sheet was rather damp, the waterproof paper was doing its job well. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to this site, and …

22361 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we moved from Taupo to Rotura, seeing nice places and visiting caches along the road. Stopping at a Volcano park Waimangu. We stopped at some caches of the Te Ara Ahi trails, where we could stop the car, because our bikes are 18.000 km away. It would be nice to ride this trails by bike.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Some were wet with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen do not work that good on such paper when it is wet. Muggles did not watch what we were doing and had more interest in the surrounding views.
squirrel nutcase TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

Today we had our third day in Rotorua and made a trip in the wonderful Waimangu volcanic valley. Special emphasis had we on this trip because this is a vital example of the Geothermal Explorer Highway. On this trip we searched, found and logged many caches, too. The weather was good in the morning, sunny, and it got wormer all day long, including some good clouds in the afternoon. Only sun was to be seen.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had better things to do than observing two geocachers.
Thanks to squirrel nutcase for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Te Ara Ahi Cycle Trail: On The Bend (Rotorua). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Another find while out there, was lost a bit so placed in a more obvious place.
We were definitely heading the right way in the car as all the caches were on the good side of the road and really appreciate the safe parking places for cars although it is a cycle trail. Another great cache placement, thanks
Wrong direction for a good park here so had to wander back along the road a bit. TFTC.
Another day... another cache Had to wait until after staff meeting to go looking tonight but this one was next on the trail and the excellent hint meant there was only one place for it to be. TFTC
This time we exchanged a visit to the geothermal valley for searching for close caches.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
I'm home for Christmas, just a few days days left. Before I left home I had set up a couple of new cache notifiers, one for Rotorua, and another for Ohope, were we had spent the last week at the beach. Wasn't really expecting any that I could do, but one popped up on my email last night, so I am came down to Lake Okaro, early in the morning.
So I walked around the lake, claiming the empty log book along the way. And it is still early, so now I am caching the the road back.
Merry Christmas and a cachey New Year from the Seagnoid!

Little bit tricky for parking, so we walked back down the hill. Found the cache, thank you very much!
I was out again with Butchie Bum today to round up a few more caches on the Te Ara Ahi Trail. BB located this one quickly but we didn't phone our respective homes.
Cheers for the cache.
