Ouch, just as I was reaching for the cache, I felt stabbing in my foot, and when I looked, I found a barbery thorn in my shoe. Damn that hurts. Cache found and log signed so success despite the pain.
On our way from Rotorua to the geothermal wonderland we stayed over night at Lake Okaro. In the morning I had a nice hike around the lake. TFTC
I trusted my geo-instinct and headed directly to the cache's hiding place but, with my usual bluster missed it. After searching elsewhere I then returned for a slap on the forehead moment! T4tC HappyBogan,Civvnr&MissTreadlightly....(UK) Geocaching.com finds so far 11383
That took a bit of agility. Unable to replace log but found a gap back amongst the 2018 logs.
In tge area again so nice to be able to turn this cache in to a smiley face. Crafty! TFTC
Found at 1448 after short search and a cool and windy day. Logbook is full.SL TFTC
Spent some time looking under everything with all family members helping. Eventually we found it, well hidden, tftc!
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked at the Ash Pit Rd DoC Campsite alongside Lake Rerewhaaitu for the next few days … planning to get in a few days R&R, assuming the rain stays away … but if it doesn’t, then we’ll just chill in our caravan … decided we’d go for a bit of a drive & see what local caches we could find … this was an easy find, log completed & replaced … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #3,392 for us.
We're down in Rotorua for a few day with family and doing a spot of geocaching. Today we followed the trail down this road on the way to Waikite Valley, then walked around the lake. This one is well hidden, but eventually my muggle hubbie found it. TFTC
Enjoyed a walk around the lake with the geohound before breakfast, after having camped here for the night. Located all four caches. As with an earlier one, I was expecting this to be more difficult than it turned out to be. Spotted it early in my search, a result with which I was quite happy! #4424. TFTC.
Baa was all we could hear while searching for this cache. The members of the team with longer arms required to retrieve. Merry Christmas TFTC
We spent quite a bit of time here. In the end an easy find looking from the correct angle. It looks like the container is no longer present, only yhr carrier, We had no spare containers so put a piece of waterproof paper where the container should be. Fav Point for the fun. Cheers.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather today, We walked and drove and I biked to a bunch of caches in around Rotorua.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Sorry about the late Log Nice walk around the Lake This one gets a favorite from me
Great views from gz which we stopped to check out before finding the cache. We didn’t go batty finding this cache which we found hidden away in the obvious spot. Tftc
First time here, several years ago, searched for a while but MRStryfyn was getting bored so moved on. Today, I wasn't leaving without a find. Fingertip search, camera phone all came up blank so it was time to break out the torch...and the cache was discovered instantly right where it should have been. Extremely cool cache. FP for the adventure and TFTC.
Slowly heading up to Auckland with lots of spare time to cache. Stopped here for lunch and collected the 4 caches around the lake. Great that the geohound could do some exercise. Loved the views of Rainbow mountain as you go round. Great cache. Had to read previous logs to help find it. Happy to add to the favourites. Thanks for the smiley.
#1025 - Tripping around the Rotorua area today. Nice lookout and a surprising hide here!! Loved this one so unique. A fav from me.
This one was great! a definate fave. Read the previous logs and used my phone to search. We all had a laugh when we saw it. Thanks!
Spending Easter weekend with our friends and spending today doing some geocaching near where they live. On to the next one along the lake
A nice spot to stopover in our motorhome while on our North Island adventure. Great to get out and walk around this beaut little lake.
Very good container and all makes sense now. TFTC

**S 38 17.778 E 176 23.775**#12,595. A good walk in Waimangu. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Had a long search where the GPS was pointing, but came up nothing. Moved to another spot and eventually found it about 6 metres away. Good hide. A TOTT helped with the retrieval. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and .T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e..M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.
We spent a delightful day exploring around this lovely rural area, before heading home to Tauranga in the late afternoon. Labour week end holiday, but there were not too many people around. This was quite a quick find and the cache is in good condition. Fave point from us for the camo. TFTC
Over from Tauranga for a couple of nights with grand daughter as it’s the school holidays. Cheers. All good here. This took longer than it should have. Resorted to reverse camera video and Wullah. A Fp.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

This one took a little longer than it should. Once I realised I had to get down and dirty! with a bit of a reach, I spotted the elusive cache.
So happy to find this one, log easily signed. No tool required to extract log, plenty of room for names, and paper lovely and dry
Thanks for the hide HappyBogan, loving the walk around the lake with all the Autumn colours

This one drove us batty for a while!!! Great cache. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC
Last time we stopped for this one it was raining and we gave up after a short search. Happy to tick it off today. . Great cache.

Weve never been here before today but we had a bit of time before Squirrel Nutcase's event this afternoon so detoured out here. Absolutely loved the hide as did Noidnz who is with us for school holidays. Favorite from me. Thanks for the placement Happy Bogan
Cool frosty morn out to walk The lake..all quiet here..the cache was soon found in good condition ..love the tidy theme ..nice view from here ..thanks happy bogan
Had a few tech issues finding this one before the phone went flat. Hadn't loaded properly on gps so started a big search at the wrong platform. finally located the second platform but not found on first search. Headed back to the car then had another check of co-ords and went back for another look. Found after taking a second look at the right place. Mr Agogo had gone on with the TOTT so no pen to log. photo sent to cache owner. Nice sunny afternoon for a walk. Spotted a few dabchicks and swans but otherwise very quiet on the track. TFTC Love the camo.
2nd find on our walk around the lake. Ewww, glad hubby found this one! Lovely view across the lake, even on an overcast day. Tftc
Found during a 10-day campervan trip around the North Island. Nice area, loved the container
We had cursory look but without luck. However we didn't hang around long to look, as there were lots of wasps. Maybe another day.
On our way down from Rotorua to Taupo we decided to take a short detour via Waimangu Road. This road is more suitable for pulling over the car when geocaching. Found all the caches including the ones arround the lake, expect for one DNF (or did not attempt actually). Thanks to all owners for hiding and maintaining them. However, some do have a "need maintainance" log.
Found 11.05am
Few people camped here. Easy walk to GZ and with good views of lake. Cache could only be in one place and sure enough it was. SLTFTC

On our 32nd day in New Zealand we stayed in Rotorua. Main aim today was to visit some of these very interesting geothermal sites. Again we were also looking for some caches but a main aim was to do some earth caches. We spent a wonderful day, weather was great and even though there were everywhere a lot of people we could see all we wanted.
On our way back we stopped here and took the lovely walk around this nice lake. There were a lot of camping muggles but on the tour around the lake we were all alone. Lovely walk with lovely views and best of it, we could find all the boxes well. With one we had to search a little longer but all fine.
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

Thought I’d leave my husband to fish while I went for a walk!! Quick find! Love the container
On our way back from Wai-O-Tapu to Rotorua we stopped at Lake Okaro to find some caches. We walked around the lake by rainy weather conditions but it was a nice walk. Unfortunatly we could not find the first cache in this area.
Tftc. What a great location for viewing. It wasnt long until we spotted a fine specimen.
This looked like a nice little circuit for our team of 3 caching families. The littlest two happily got tugged along by the dogs, a nice change from whining about tired wee legs. I was surprised the cache hadn’t been found when i got to gz as the front of the group got here well before me. Very well hidden and cool container! Tftc
Thanks found on slippy walk round lake.should have had wellies on.been to rere many times didn't know lake here.
Wonderful container. Thank goodness I had some prior warning before reaching under lol
Came out here just over a week ago and couldn't for the life of me find this cache. Thought I'd read everything properly but it turns out I didn't. 'The Mr' was with me today and on the way to the cache I told him a bit about it. When we arrived he said 'oh it will be..' hmmm hadn't thought of that... did a bit more looking and then I spotted it... have to admit that it gave me a little fright when I saw it and then I realised just how clever this hide is... love it! Definitely worth a fav point TFTC
I'm home for Christmas, just a few days days left. Before I left home I had set up a couple of new cache notifiers, one for Rotorua, and another for Ohope, were we had spent the last week at the beach. Wasn't really expecting any that I could do, but one popped up on my email last night, so here I am at Lake Okaro, early in the morning.
Camp ground was pretty full when I arrived, probably about 6am, but not a soul was stirring. Grabbed my cache kit and set off for a walk around the lake.
This cache is a nice simple concept and although I was right in where I thought it would be, it took me three looks, as wel as checking everywhere else before I found it. Nicely done, but alas, no room for treasure or the trackables in my kit.
Merry Christmas and a cachey New Year from the Seagnoid!

After arriving on the campsite near Lake Okaro we set out for the hiking trail along the lake.
It is a nice hike, a bit pity that there are no more caches on the track but you cannot have everything.
We enjoyed the hike and found the caches, especially this one who had a nice hidingplace.
