I believe this one will be a flood victim and is no longer in play. Dig around the obvious places and it isn’t there. Seeing as it has not been found since Jan is probably a good indication. Maybe the next searcher can put a replacement in the obvious location where it should be.
Out with the boy whist he tries his luck with his new sluice I was pleased to see I was in striking distance from a cache and even more pleased with what I found to swap out
Log is damp, unsurprising given the recent rains and the flattened surrounds post floods, but TFTC!

Walked in found cache, hard to sign log ,re hide cache .. off to do the two caches at the lake..
Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
A nice walk in then a bit of a wander through knee-high grass which was interesting.
GZ was also interesting but it was disappointing to find that, even though it was placed upside down, the cache had water in it & the log was soaked ... so much so that our scribble stick wouldn't write on it.
I took a photo as proof of our find if needed.
Replaced as found, a little dryer but still in need of CO intervention.

TFTC. After the event today , it was time to find some more caches before heading back to Maryborough. A productive day with an adventure lab completed and 17 finds. Unfortunately we DNF’ d 1.
Found with stairman1 and geopuppies. Up at Gympie for the weekend. There wasn’t too much water around for geopuppies to have a swim. All good here.
Found with goldielover today. No time for fossick today. More caches to find.
Thanks for showing us this area.

Stopped in here to pick up an ad lab WP but made sure to continue on and locate this cache. A stomp through the thick grass had me at GZ. It didn’t take long to spot a likely hidey hole and the container was in hand. With my scribble on the log all was replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache Famousfivego

Quick run up to Hervey Bay from Beaudesert & back in 24 hours to see the geokiddies under 8's day. Still managed time to grab a few caches in between the mad rush. This was 3 out of16.
Bit of a bush bash, walking up and down some steepish hills in the dark but once I located the GZ, it was a nice quick easy find. All in good condition here.
Thanks for the cache **Famousfivego**

What an interesting area. I’m glad caching brought me here. Unfortunately I didn’t have a license or gear with me this time but now I know this is here I will return at a future date. Cache was found safe and dry just where expected.TFTC Famousfivego

This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to make the trip north to Gympie, primarily to attend the Community Celebration and CITO events organised by AtTheLakeHouse. We had only driven through Gympie previously, so it was a chance to sight-see the area. Highlights included Yandina's Ginger Factory, Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum, and the Mary Valley Rattler train.
Today, we made the journey up to Gympie, and stopped off at Yandina to see the Ginger Factory. We attended a bee workshop/presentation, and filled up with honey tastings, which was great. We continued the drive to Gympie, and after checking in to our accommodation, we visited the Gympie Museum to learn about its gold mining past. We then spent the remaining few hours of daylight completing the *Gympie Gold or 'The Town that Saved Queensland'* Adventure Lab and visiting various geocaches around town, and it also included some gold fossicking for ourselves.
We approached this cache from across the river, and luckily found some stepping stones to get across. Also nearby, and quite fitting to this geocache's theme, was a few fossickers trying to get some luck with finding gold; I don't think they were too successful though. After walking through some weeds, we searched around GZ to make the cache find reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Famousfivego for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

I found it very quickly. It's a walk in the grass, explore the tree. We put a few toys in there. Try to find gold. Finally it was an easy find. Thanks a lot.

While driving from Brisbane to Hervey Bay we stopped off in Gympie to try our hand at gold fossicking, and find some geocaches. We had more luck finding caches than finding gold. TFTC

We've stopped off at the Veterans Retreat in Kia Ora, and plan to base ourselves here for a few days.
Today we planned to tackle the Adventure Lab in Gympie and of course any other caches we might pass long the way.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing
Thank you for adding to our adventure.

An early morning drive from Brisbane had me at a paddle event at Traveston Crossing. With the event finished in the middle of the day, I was keen to maximise my day up north, so went for a drive. I'd been up through Brooyar STate Forest and when rolling back into Gympie had an issue. I was starting to fall asleep at the wheel.
So, I found a nice park and had a nap to refresh. Some may say a waste of geocaching time, others may say just smart and safe. I'd vote the latter. I located a bite to eat and headed for this geocache for a walk to help wake up for the full drive home.
For some time I'vce had half an eye on doing some fossicking, but the options around Brisbane are all a long drive. Upon realising there is an area in the middle of Gympie, I always knew I'd come for a look. And then a look at the geocaching map lead me here today. Just for a look about. I'm not delusional enough to expect to find anything, even if I did try.
I approached from Counter Street and spent a while wandering around the tracks, a hop over the creek and checking out some diggings others have left behind. Even spotted a group chatting about fossicking - but no actual fossicking taking place.
Onto the geocache and I had to wade through some long grass to get to GZ. But when I did I was pleasantly surprised by the old foundations for some sort of building and a quick find on the geocache. All in great condition here; I signed my name and replaced as found.
There it is, all done. I have now visited a fossicking site. Got the geocaching smiley to prove it. Maybe one day I'll bother with the permit and kit and give it a go. But today, I have a few hours driving ahead of me to get home. Thanks for bringing me to this place, Famousfivego

Doing the Adventure Lab, we came to this location. A quick look, yes a traditional here as well.
After attending the New Year's and Cito events in Kilkivan, we headed North for couple of days for relaxing and caching. Now we are on the way back, searching the one or other cache.

I had a lovely wander here after I found a way in. I imagined what it must have been like here during gold rush times - the voices of men, perhaps the occasional shout of elation, clankings of machinery, the rumble of gravel. TFTC Famousefivego.

A drive up to Gympie today to clear up a few of the caches in this area although maybe not a good idea in this heat!! Parked up and wandered down the trail while geowife watched a little kingfisher by the river - but she wasn't impressed with the rat that nearly ran over her foot. We could hear someone fossicking and chipping away at some rocks by the water. Cache was soon found all in good condition and now back to the air-conditioning in the car to cool off. TFTC Famousfivego
We could camp just right here! Wish the river was high though. Thanks for the great hide and took cute tb with us
Nice breeze today, perfect for finding some treasures. Nice spot to adventure to
Staying in Gympie for a work course, and managed to leave early enough to fit in a few previously unfound caches along the way. This was a pleasant walk and fun find in a great spot.

No time for fossicking today but just enough time for 1 more cache!
Interesting area, lots of planting and weed spraying happening. Slightly concerned about walking over the mounds of dead grass about what might be sheltering underneath but I had my good walking shoes and jeans on, so should be fine...
Is this remnants of a house or mine? Looks like the trees are starting to take over reminiscent of Ta Prohm in Cambodia.
Safely hidden out of the rain. Signed and returned with camo cover.
Took croc sticker, left Natio badge.
Also left The Sherwood Sasquatch travel bug - haven't had him long, but might not be able to do much caching in the next few weeks so didn't want to keep him away from travelling.

I could go fossicking for a cache in this out of the way reserve
Some blokes were fossicking down in the river bed for something !!
It couldn't have been a cache.
The logbook would have gotten wet
Up the hill a bit near the olde ruins,
I soon unearthed a geocaching nugget

I was rather intrigued by this cache, as I thought it couldn't possibly really be gold fossicking?!?!?!? Turns out it really is! Two fellows and their little dogs kept me company on the first part of my walk, and told me all about the place. Then eventually I realised I needed to be across the creek, so left them to head to GZ. The cache was a quick find. TFTC, and for bringing me here, Famousfivego.
