After I wrapped up my quick paddle, I remembered there was this trad here, so I packed up the inflatable yak and moved in for the find. With the hint in mind, I quickly found the little bugger well tucked away. Log signed, and replaced as found, as I could hear muggles approaching. Luckily they were on the other side of the shrubbery. I retreated back to the warthog and drove off home to get clean up and have some dinner. Thanks for the cache makenasmum!

I previously kayaked Lake MacDonald 12 months ago, and that was enough lake action to visit a few of the lakeside caches like this one. As [chamad](https://coord.info/PRPP06G) and I were travelling past this spot, we stopped, and I made short work of this cache find; The cache container and logbook were in good shape. It was certainly another nice view of the scenic lake, and a hidden spot that I'll need to remember for a future lunch break! Thanks makenasmum for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, I joined [chamad](https://coord.info/PRPP06G) and travelled north to Cooroy to attend [AtTheLakeHouse](https://coord.info/PRT08AC)'s [5th Birthday Gig](https://coord.info/GCAKWYN) event. After visiting the area around Cooroy Mountain, we proceeded towards Mt Tinbeerwah, and after admiring the views at the lookout, we took the various detours within the vicinity to grab the less-visited geocaches. We then hopped across the Cooroy - Noosa Road, and travelled along Sunrise Road, stopping for a few walks within Tinbeerwah Forest Reserve, and escaping for a late lunch at Tewantin. As it approached late afternoon, we utilised our remaining time around Cooroy, which included a few oldies adjacent to the M1 highway. A terrific day out and about, exploring the Noosa shire!

This was my first visit to Lake MacDonald and I very much enjoyed it! Along with a flotilla of about 20 others, we explored the lake, admired the houses and the views, and found many of the wonderful caches on the lake. I’m glad the event was held up here and very glad to have had such a good caching day today. TFTC, opted-out user. =^.^=

On completion of our paddle on Lake Macdonald, our group, Geo Six, (RoddyC, hatzofff, Grannysmith1947, patrol14, imbunda and myself) joined nikid1 to find some land based caches before driving our separate ways.

Most caches were relatively quick to find and were in good condition.

Thank you, makenasmum, for placing this good hide for us to find.

We stopped here for a bit of r and r yesterday on the way to pomona.
It was so beautiful with the reflections on the water, we got out the drone and had a bit of a play around.
I knew where exactly it just took a few round and round before the super well blended in nano was discovered. Great spot for a geocache, thanks for hiding one here, we stayed ages.

Out on my second paddling trip today with Georode and sub out Team Tyrrell and sub in ESmiley. Georode and I arrived to find ESmiley all ready to go. It did not take us long to get in the water as we were still prepared from the last paddle.

On the water and around the area it was seven caches we found today. A couple we had to get out for, a couple were just a park and grab and a couple required a little extra help in finding. The paddle took us just 2 hours to complete and it was very cruisey here today, no one else around.

Thank you for placing these all here, an easy find at this one and our names were in the log.

09-May-21
After finding the cache at the bird hide we came to find this one on our return to our car. I didn’t see it at first. Perhaps the fact that the sun was setting made it more difficult to see but luckily I did spot it on my second inspection of where we thought it would be. We gladly signed the log. At a guess I’d say there’s about 9 spaces left for log signing. Perhaps a few more.
Thanks for placing it here.
Cheers and happy caching!

I turned that frown upside down . All this time I have been hunting for this cache in the wrong location, having it mixed up with another one nearby. In my defence, I’d had a hint from the other CO as to his caches whereabouts, but thought that the two were one and the same. Anyway, long story short, the issue came to light after chatting with THIS Cache Owner and the matter was soon resolved with the micro in hand and name added to the log. Tftc! I’ve loved coming to this place.

Sambucca Sam had asked if I wanted to join her and a group of other cachers for camping and a paddle up here. As she is also a novice kayaker, I said yes. Unfortunately she had to cancel due to a family commitment but I still came anyway. I arrived on Friday night and caught up with the others but secretly I was more than a little worried about the next days excursion as they were all seasoned paddlers. My kayak experience up till now had been two short paddles of about a hundred metres each and the half hour mucking around on a surf ski trying to stay upright.

In the morning we got the kayaks on the water and started off. Apart from Slow Puncture who was having her own troubles, I was trailing behind considerably and no matter how hard I paddled I wasn't going as fast as the others. I was relieved to finally get to the first cache which the others had already signed. Slow puncture sorted out the problem with her wheels and we all set off again.

Brother Colin then asked if I wanted some tips on paddling and I said "yes please!" Apparently my technique was all wrong so with patience and encouragement BC taught me what I should be doing and that made things a LOT easier. I still trailled behind but not as much. Thank you Brother Colin!

We visited 13 caches today and saw quite a bit of the lake and its birdlife including some swans, a species I associate with the inland. (Like pelicans they move to the coastal areas during drought.)

Someone said we had covered 16.5km on our paddle so no wonder my arms felt like jelly by the time we got back! It was still a great day out on the water and although tired and sore I'm glad I went.
Thankyou Wallaby Tim for organizing this excursion.

We were camping at the Scout Campsite 'Camp Cooroora' on the banks of Lake MacDonald for a weekend of camping and kayaking fun with a small group from the PRCYS. Everyone had woken up reasonably early which enabled us to launch on an amazingly smooth lake before any wind had a chance to build.

We had quite a lot of fun paddling around the lake and even managed to locate most of the caches easily enough. With all our names added to the log book, we continued with our paddle Cool

Thank you makenasmum for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Big Grin

Slow Puncture organised a weekend of camping and kayaking at the Scout Campsite Camp Cooroora on the banks of Lake MacDonald. A fantastic place to start the paddle for the caches on the Lake.
5 and half hours later we had found them all.
Thanks for that caches.

Saturday. Slow Puncture was out today with a group of fellow kayak cachers.

Thanks ***makenasmum***, for showing us this interesting place.

We had found this one before, so we were visiting with TBs.

We were out on the lake and now heading back in the general direction of our launch point, slowly collecting the caches as we went. While a couple of previous finders floated about in their kayaks, those of us who hadn’t found this went ashore and made a quick find.

Thanks for the cache makenasmum. This was find #4019.

I have a cache by the same name, the only difference is mine is well away from the water. A nice tranquil spot with no one around.

Some time ago a plan was hatched on social media for a group kayak-a-thon on Lake MacDonald. With how tuned up I am on how the kids communicate these days, I wasn't aware I was part of the group until I got an old school SMS from 4ando telling me to turn my notifications on. Cool! Now all I need is a kayak.

4ando picked me up early and after a coffee stop we were driving through some rain showers nervously giggling how much fun the day would be. I suppose we were going to get wet anyway. The rain cleared as we closed in on the launch point.

After everyone unpacked their flotation devices Mr 4ando tells me there is a cache close by and everyone came for a sticky beak. Soon the little bundle of joy was uncovered and I had the pleasure of fitting 5 caching names on the tiny log. tftc

18-Mar-18
A day was planned of kayaking madness on Lake MacDonald consisting of 4ando, Woodyrothwell, TeamARf, Gcoven and JACS Team, we had a meeting time and place all prepared. As we were driving up the highway the sky were trying to scare us with it's rain, the jokes on it...no rain is going to stop this crowd!!! Before launch time we noticed a cache nearby so we were all in looking, the shortest member of the group gave a casual glance in one area and went ‘too many webs in there, someone else should search that area properly!’ and hey someone did.

The cache was soon turned up and we are back in the rhythm of he who finds it must sign it for everyone. At launch time we were all already dreaming of the drinks we would be having at the end and we haven't even started yet, man we love this crowd! JACS Team informs us she isn’t much of a drinker, no problems hang with this crowd and we’ll slowly convert you.

Yaks in the water and we were off…

18-Mar-18
The 4ando's promised an early morning self orientated lake cruise, with wine and nibblies supplied to chase a few fresh water fish. So the group comprising of JACS Team, Gcoven and the wood from Rothwell (WR) arrived with floaty things to take us round the circumference of the lake.

But before we started, a mere 10m away was this hidden cache just waiting to be found. A few of the group started looking in the obvious spots. One spot in particular was searched by the shortest of the group without luck. In turn, progressing up the vertically challenged team member scale it came down to WR to uncover the find and get the day underway.

Back to the launch area for the cruise to begin. Thanks for placing this cache makenasmum.

Found this one whilst packing up from a paddling adventure on the Lake. Have just read the recent logs and note the container was recently replaced with a magnetic nano.

I found a mint tin on the ground adjacent the posts for an information sign. It had a geocaching sticker on it and a logbook inside. I replaced it on the framework at the back of the sign.

Not sure, but there may now be two containers in play?!?

Many thanks, makenasmum

It was such a nice day today that my awesome geopartner WallabyTim and I went for a paddle on Lake McDonald to set out some new caches. Unfortunately this existing cache at our launch spot had gone walkabout recently and a quick check proved that the CO must not have had a chance to replace it. As we were about to launch, WallabyTim joked about how funny it would be if McKenna's Mum came to replace the cache while we were on the water. A few hours later we had packed everything up and just started to drive away when WallabyTim abruptly stopped the car. What on earth was wrong?!! Next thing he jumps out and grabs a note under the windscreen wiper from...you guessed it - the cache owner!!! Yay!!! So it was straight into reverse and back down to find the replacement cache and "pretend" to get a FTF in the brand new log Wink I'm not exactly sure how the CO knew it was WallabyTim's vehicle but the 10 or so geocaching stickers and trackable bug on the back may have given it away haha. So I have been to this location a few times now.. and recently I dropped into the area to scout out the lake for more geocaches. While doing so this cache came up on my radar.. unfortunately I didn't have a pen.. no logging for me!... couple of days pass.. its a souvenir weekend.. yay.. ive found the cache so it should be a relatively easy find and sign for my souvenir. .. so arrived at gz.. and.. no cache.. just lots of graffiti. . Not happy jan.... messaged the CO and awaited for a new cache to be replaced. So today was the day.. I was in the process of putting out 10 caches on Lake MacDonald with the assistance of my amazing geo-partner KaleidoscopeCass and after putting out 4 hides we decided to call it a day so I could come back in a day or 2 and hide the next lot.. kayaks loaded... we were off down the road and about 200m away when i noticed a bit of paper under my windscreen wiper.. on with the brakes.. my 3 ton tank of a landcruiser/geotruck slowly pulls up and i grab the note!!. Its the CO who did cache maintenance and replaced the hide.. so promptly put the truck in reverse.. and backed down to Jabiru park. And onto the hunt for the sneaky evil little nano.. my favorite!! Will be awarding a favorite point for the laughs and the CO's quick fix..

After a brief stroll at the botanic gardens, we headed around here on our way to the newer caches and realised there was another here that we had not found. We'd visited the bird hide a while ago.
We got to the spot where we expected the cache to be from its description but could not find it, then on the way back to the table we tripped over a choc mint version of a familiar container. There was a log inside but the plastic bag has been chewed, and the lid was left open. We signed the log and put it up high near where we thought it may be supposed to live.
Would have put a needs maintenance note on this for the CO to check but it looks like the next cacher has done that for us. So has someone fiddled with it again after we put it back up high, or was it just in a different spot than the previous searcher was expecting as he'd previously found it in its proper location??? All these mysteries will be put right I'm sure when the CO can sort it out. Surprised

I was heading through Cooroy today so I decided that I should make a quick diversion to grab this cache.

I have been here before and was surpised to see how low the water in the lake is. I did not know that the road continued through it.

Once at GZ, it was not too long before the cache was in hand.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

Out and about around Lake Macdonald and surrounding areas with Slow Puncture and IolantheK collecting caches released in conjunction with the nearby Catch up at Lake Macdonald event.

Slow Puncture won the draw, and kindly invited us along to share the FTF. We piled in the car, realising there wasn't room for TTech, who stayed back to cook us a beaut lunch.

After arriving at GZ, we all split up to check the obvious locations, and I spotted the container after searching a couple of places. We signed the log before heading up the track to find another nearby cache. Nice to be able add another FTF to the tally Cool, thanks SP.

This cache was offered as an FTF prize at the nearby Event today, and Slow Puncture won it. He kindly allowed me to tag along with him and Orange Crew, and we piled into the car and took the back roads to GZ. We all got into the search and it was OC who made the find. Nice to add another [*FTF*] to my tally. TFTC, makenasmum.

Saturday. Mr Slow Puncture accompanied Mr Orange Crew to Chris' Catch Up at Lake MacDonald event today.

As luck would have it, I was unlucky number 13 on the FTF draw, and 13 was drawn out, and this was the cache - with a 15 minute head start. So Orange Crew, IolantheK and I piled into Blue Thunder and I drove as I was supplied with (thankfully) concurring directions from my caching partners.

We arrived at GZ after driving down a pleasant and beautifully sealed road, and the cache was in hand in short order. Woo-hoo! (FTF) Big Grin That's been a long time!

This was the 4th of 10 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***makenasmum***, for showing us this place. Smile
