We Dutchies are happy traveling with our campervan from Cairns to Brisbane Found this cache on our adventure TB in: 0TB out: 0
#5666Mathsnuts are over from the UK, visiting the inlaws. After some time in Brisbane and at Springbrook, we have now headed to Sunrise Beach for a couple of days. Panning around the geocaching map, looking for somewhere to visit, these botanical gardens looked like a fun spot, so we headed here after visiting Boreen Point. The GPS was a bit buncy, but the hint was clear enough and there were only a couple of options. Mini Maths got down low enough to have a clear view and soon spotted it. While I signed the log, swatting away at the mosquitoes, Mr Maths was busy trying to find the catbird that we could here calling. TFTC
Accio 09:46:18A great weekend away with T4mmmy, and today is too hot for being outside ... so we went chasing lakes instead. Found a lake near here, and grabbed this cache as well. Thanks makenasmum for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #12102}*
Looks a bit different to the pictures, but lovely nonetheless. Also, mosquitoes
11:45:00 AM. A beautiful day for a walk with Zara around the gardens. Found and log signed. Been a few years since we have been up here. Thanks for the cache opted-out user.
I can’t believe I didn’t think to look for this one when I was paddling here a couple of weeks ago. Luckily, I find myself back here for a local theatre production of the taming of the shrew and intermission was enough time to find this cache and another nearby.TFTC Makenasmum
Up the Coast for a long weekend so Geo6 - RoddyC, Hatzofff, Snickersallan, Patrol14, GrannySmith1947 and me could paddle on Lake McDonald and do general caching around about.
Paddle completed so joined with nikid1 to do a few landbased caches before she headed home. This was one of our 1st to do on dry land. Log signed and replaced as found. TFTC

When the CO doesn’t think much of their cache type, then that’s a shame... "horrid micro magnetic". Despite the cache type, it was a really nice area and setting, and I was glad to have visited this morning. A short jog up the path, and it wasn't long before making the cache find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks makenasmum for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

During this extended weekend, [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I stayed in Noosa Heads. On Friday, we hiked in Noosa National Park visiting Boiling Pot, Dolphin Point, Fairy Pools, and Hell's Gates. On Saturday, I attended the local parkrun followed by a kayak paddle of Lake MacDonald whilst attending the [Four Mountains, Four Directions](https://coord.info/GCA5T0A) event, and then we visited the River Entrance Beach on Noosa Spit towards the north-west in the afternoon. Finally, on Sunday morning, we had breakfast on Hastings Street and then did a small walk in Noosa Heads, before driving back home.
Today, I had an early start and attended Noosa parkrun to start the day with a 5 km run. Following that event, I visited a few geocaches in the area whilst making my way to Lake MacDonald. It was a rather tiring yet enjoyable paddle as we made our way from the western side towards the south-east, detouring through the [Four Mountains, Four Directions](https://coord.info/GCA5T0A) event. It was then a few final stops driving through Cooroy and Noosaville as I returned back to our accommodation.
The afternoon was spent with the family visiting Noosa Spit. We walked around the area and relaxed at River Entrance Beach, before extending our walk along Noosa Main Beach and grabbing dinner at the surf life saving club.

Today a group of keen geocachers came to attend ATL event on Lake McDonald. GEO Six were all on the water and enjoying the beautiful day and the caches on offer. Even saw LLJ in his ultralight flying overhead.
Now the paddle is done and we are on dry land, came by this cache after our yummy sausage sizzle.

Found after a delightful kayaking day on the Lake, as a few of us decided to nab a couple more finds while in the area. I really enjoyed exploring the gardens and the outlooks though here today. TFTC, opted-out user. =^.^=
On completion of our paddle on Lake Macdonald, our group, Geo Six, (RoddyC, hatzofff, Grannysmith1947, patrol14, imbunda and myself) joined nikid1 to find some land based caches before driving our separate ways.
Most caches were relatively quick to find and were in good condition.
Thank you, makenasmum, for placing this good hide.

Staying nearby for a few nights. We’ve never visited Lake MacDonald…..so glad we did today !
Enjoyed a stroll through the beautiful gardens, keeping a careful watch on Peppa to make sure she didn’t do the same as Jessie.

Ocw the Bebes. A lovely walk in the gardens. Very tranquil. A quick search at GZ soon had CIH. Tftc
On my way back home from paddling Lake MacDonald, and I had to stop to find this cache.
There were nor many cars in the carpark, but I passed two ladies wandering out of where I was headed. No one else. Noosa Botanical Gardens looks like it needs some love and money poured into it, although there seems to be a local group who are fundraising for it by selling plants in a couple of weeks. Maybe it needs some love from the council.
Anyway, as I reached GZ I looked around, then read the hint. Looked again at where my iPhone was pointing, but found nothing.
The cache was found, not where my GPS was pointing, but in a similar location nearby.
I signed the log and then replaced the cache where I found it. TFTc

Easy find, but lots if mossie bites later, I couldn't sign the log as it's wet and my pencil would tear it. Co sent photo of proof of find.

1.0 1.0 Micro Traditional Cache
Thanks for the cache and taking us here makenasmum. Enjoyed the caching day with Chamad, willis007 and Nayfee.
A plan was put together for a day of Sunshine Coast caches, our crew of E_Smiley, Nayfee and Captain chamad set out for a paddle in Lake McDonald then some land based caches across to Noosa and south towards Coolum.
We collected a great selection of caches and enjoyed a stunning warm Queensland day.
Thank you to the cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain these caches for us to enjoy.

Another great day of caching, full of fun, lots of laughs and antics, and another big haul of target caches. At the recent QOGM event, a tentative booking for a paddle up Noosa way was made by Esmiley. Willis007 and myself jumped at the chance to grab a few target caches that we needed for loops and challenge caches. We even got Nayfee out for the long day to join us. Over the last few days, a plan was hatched; we first started on Lake MacDonald to finish off some paddle caches. From there it was a drive around picking up, well more like cleaning up oldies and trads as we went along. My main target was “Traditional” as I had been here twice before and never succeeded (more to follow on that one). A few more around Noosa way and then down the highway to finish in Peregian Beach area. Truly, a fantastic day and one that goes into the books as a fun adventure day.
After our paddle, it was a nice walk around the gardens collecting caches, oh and checking out the gardens. All were marked of as found in here today, one cache took longer than expected as it was a very tuff find. Thank you to the CO’s for the placements here. It was then onto the next one on the list for today.

I had the pleasure to join Chamad, Willis007 and E_Smiley for a full days expedition on the stunning Sunny Coast. The morning started off with a quick paddle on Lake MacDonald than slowly but surely we made our way towards Noosa than south down the coast. The goal for the day was to grab any Q1000 caches we could and a bunch of other caches in the region that would go towards several challenges we're working on.
What a fabulous day with great company, I guess you can't complain about the weather either, it was a perfect day to be outdoors. We had a blast!
Thank you for the cache and thank you for giving us a reason to stop by today.

Camped at Kenilworth showgrounds for the weekend and decided to hit the Noosa Botanical Gardens with the geo kids and geopups.
I love caches like this when we're out with the kiddos, was a super simple hide which the kiddos had a ball getting down low and finding. one finds, one opens, I stamp, one replaces and one puts it back.
The system works...
Thanks for the cache **makenasmum**

After getting muggled out at other cache attempts this was a beautifully secluded location... Well from humans anyway, the mozzie populace was hosting a party and we were on the menu! A nice quick find, sign, and return of this cache after a huge hiatus from caching ️ good to be back TFTC
Tftc, having driven up and down here quite a few times while in the area. Today was the day to collect the caches before we head north tomorrow.
Found whilst being swarmed with mozzies. Didn't have a pen but made a mark with some blue glitter. Also found a smile rock so I got 2 smilys here. Tftc
While travelling to Gympie for a few days with my Geodog Scruffy, we had to stop and find a few caches along the way.
What a top spot for a break from traffic, and Scruff was very happy she was welcome. (even if she did have to be on her lead ... grrr)
All Good .. TFTC ..

Up in the Noosa Hinterland looking for our new home we popped into the botanical gardens to do a bit of caching. The size added an extra challenge but in the end a quick bag by our 9 year old. TFTC
This is a truly beautiful place! Thank you for bringing me here. Early in the morning, there was no one else about. TFTC!

Saturday. Slow Puncture was out today with a group of fellow cachers.

Our final day in Cooroy before moving on and one last chance to grab a few more caches.
Heading to Lake MacDonald I set off on foot to grab a few caches that I could get without a boat.
My last find for the day and such a lovely spot to sit and watch time dwindle away.
Thanks

Almost eaten alive by mosquitoes but found it! Bring the bug spray if you come looking for this little beauty. Nice hide.
It was the first time for me in this great Country. Very likely there will be another trip, it was such a lovely time with Lots of special Moments and Places. Thanks for showing !
Out with family, Geoboy Benjamin found this one very quickly. log signed Pilfus HnG Benjamin. tftc
Great to sign a fresh log. Today was Noosa water at the Lake or something to that effect and the place was teeming with people. Unfortunately this meant the amphitheatre cache we could not search for as there were performers and an audience there. Did score some free bags, pens, notebooks and magnifying glasses, so the trip was worth it! The cache was found by geohubby - TFTC

Probably the best time in the world to visit the Botanical Gardens is in the middle of a serious downpour. The rain might have eased but the pathways were flowing and the lily pond now had its own waterfall which added to the ambience. There are also none of those weirdos admiring the plants, just those weirdos out in the rain finding caches.
We had brought a $5 umbrella from Cooroy at Gelignite Jacks and my wife was adamant on trying it out. I hankered down under the golf umbrella while my wife stood under what could only be called an ugly tissue.
It was quite a nice but slow walk. Some pavers were slippery but we weren’t in a rush. We took a photo of a Kookabuura watching over some fossils and could hear an owl hooting away which we spent some time trying to find but that time could have been better used popping champagne corks.
It was too wet at GZ to consider a thorough search and so I was super-happy when my better half saw something that needed some love. She also the saw and found the hide. tftc
