Quick nocturnal find — can’t see much of the planting though! Signed the logbook, quick not having a baggie to fiddle with. Thanks Sidewaze!
Container and log replaced. Please ensure containers are right way up when replaced.
Work and traveling cache #2!

This is one of those caches that didn't get found because there was another cx that I came to before I got to GZ and I just had to do that one first. Today my path was unobstructed. TFTC.
Thanks for bringing me here, I had no idea that this reserve existed. Fantastic to see the restoration work. Had a lovely time exploring the tracks, with a quick find in the middle of my stroll.
Unbelievable the number of trees in here they nearly engulf the cycle & path wayand still they plant mire cache all good thanks Sidewaze
We accidentally came across this wetlands area. The van was still running and so was I. Macwatt parked the van and followed. We managed to cross paths. Never mind, we both got there. Thanks for bringing us here.
Out and about with DragonDefender for another cache-finding mission.
Combined this one with an AdLab.
Cheers for the cache.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route to Golden Bay, via some ad labs, puzzles and other targeted caches.
An enjoyable walk while we did the ad lab, and carried on to this cache. I then returned the way we came while SW carried on, and he arrived back at the start seconds before me. TFTC.

#20009. We enjoyed our walk, and made a quick find at GZ. We then took different routes back to the car. TFTC.
A nice quick find that took a bit of hunting thanks.
Another long weekend, another wee road trip, this time up to Golden Bay area, with Ms_KR. The daylight hours are are certainly getting shorter, but luckily the weather is mostly dry and warm. Today we cruised from Motueka to Nelson.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Getting around the area geocaching - Fav point added We loved all the caches we did while on holiday.

Second of the day, found in the third place looked. Gotta say the area looks a bit different to the photos on the cache page, which is a good thing. Hard getting a park today, the volunteers were out in force. TFTC Sidewaze.
A drive out to Motueka today for RunningGirl1972 and I. Just a chance to enjoy some sea views, visit the market, and enjoy some local food. And on the way in, and on the way out, we got some caches. Seems that RG72 is starting to get the hang of this and is revelling in finding them before me. And that’s all good.

I disabled my caches during Level 4 lockdown to encourage everyone to do the right thing. Now we’re moving to Level 3 I’m going to leave the decision to search for a cache or not to each individual. Remember you still need to stay in your bubble and a bit of hand sanitiser before and after handling a cache would be appropriate. Keep yourself and others safe.

I needed to find five caches today to bring my daily finds for the 9th February up to 26 and thus into a deeper shade of green in the GC Statistics Daily Finds Calendar.
Today was my last cyclocaching day in Mapua so after riding down the hill from town it was time to ride up the Dominion Flats/Seaton Valley seeking as many of the caches there as I could. Rode up to within 4m for a nice easy find. That's cache #3 in the bag. Just 2 more to get - then all the rest are bonus finds. TFTC Sidewaze

Nice big smile waiting here. I like these containers more than the sistema ones.
Lovely walk along here, wonder why I have never stopped before!
Back on the track now and looking for some more smiles.
Thanks for this one.

Have been meaning to stop here for ages and never have - so tidying up a few caches in Mapua today we decided today was the day love seeing what they have accomplished here and enjoyed our walk - thanks for the cache and bringing us here
This has been on the to do list for so long it has been an embarrassment. Today we came into this area deciding to a bit of a clean up. Finally made it here and we were glad to tick this one off our list TFTC
Enjoyed this walk today. Wow someone has been very busy tidying the area. It will be fantastic when the trees grow. We looked at purchasing the section above here around 16years ago. TFTC
Nice and easy find here whilst in the area for a few others. T F T C Sidewaze.
I've had a busy couple of weeks at work and was originally supposed to be working today, but with a couple of other things looming on the horizon I asked if I could have the day off before starting back on night shift tomorrow night, and yes was the answer. So, with mrs capperz supposedly at work this morning on the early shift I also got up and underway and was on the road from home at around 0615, with a full days caching ahead, culminating with the event near Mapua at (I thought 1500, it was actually 1400 - oops, made it in time though).
With thick fog all the way through from Wairau river bridge to the Whangamoa saddle it was steady driving to get me into Nelson just after 8, and a full day saw me back at home for 1845 after a catch up at The power of 3 cache with Ricardinho, the Seagnoid, TB Dragon and Jojo. A successful day was had with some park n grabs out Central Road way, a couple of previous DNFs conversted to smilies (and a couple of new DNFs to add to the list!) and a few points towards the latest souvenir scramble. Thanks to all COs for their hides, specific stories where I remember.

A fun wander, maybe the last day of sunshine before the drought is broken tomorrow!
A quick find with Tregearp whilst in the area for a clutch of three tradtionals - 2 from 3 suspecting the recent rain and flooding may have dealt to the third.
All in good order, signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks for another cache Sidewaze.

With the last souvenir insight, SJT_NZ and I tackled a few caches before the weather watch kicked in. A quick find here and all in good order.
After dropping daughter at pool I was to awake to go back to sleep so headed out for a bit of early morning caching to full in the time before picking her up again. Nice easy track to follow with the torch and happy to find quickly. Thanks for the cache.
Note to self, don't always take the most direct route to a cache, walk a bit further and see if there's a track to follow. Cache nice and dry (not many like that today). TFTC Sidewaze.
Taybeedragon and I were here for the Geocaching International Film Festival event after which (i.e. the next day) we headed to Motueka, the slow way. Stopped off here and walked this area, which was a bit silly as we had our bikes. Only just logging it now as the dragon pointed it out today (a month later) that I had missed it. Love the restoration going on here, I can appreciate the work as I am involved with a restoration project in Blenheim.
The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara and I are exploring the Tasman region again. We were here for the GIFF evening at Mapua on Saturday. Today its Mapua to Motueka in Toby so lets GO!!
After bagging the multi, we walked straight past our bikes and walked along here.
It was over the board walk and along her to snag and tag this one. Cheers

The direct route didn't turn out to be the best route, ended up with wet feet and a lot of grass seeds in my socks. TFTC
Lovely summer evening for walking the dogs and geocaching. Haven’t done this for a while and it is such a good reason to ’get out’. Thanks!
Having driven past here so many times today was the first time I went for a walk around. What an amazing amount of work has gone into this area - it is going to be magnificent once all of the plants grow. I met a lady who was there planting more plants - we had a wee chat and I expressed my gratitude for the effort she was putting in. Cache was in the first place I looked - I love it when that happens. Thanks Sidewaze
Went for a local drive and did lots of Geocaches today! This one was really fun and didn't take us too long. I recommend it as a nice quick one to do when in the district! TFTC
Took 2 of my nieces out for a few caches with me. This was our first stop and were impressed with how much the plantings have grown this year. We have searched for this cache a couple of other times with no luck but now we were in the wrong area and had no problems today. TFTC
Certainly a lot more planting and development gone on here since my last visit. Nice to see. Enjoyed the short stroll from the car. Thanks Sidewaze!!
After cycling the south island for 2 months we are spending the last 2 weeks of our holiday in the Nelson area - and naturally we need to log some caches . Tftc!
Sadly this was also a miss. Just ran out of time to do a proper search. Will be back sometime in the future. A great reserve!
A nice little reserve with good information about the wetlands development. I started to go direct then decided to follow the little path which took us to where we wanted to go. Collected the cache, thank you Sidewaze.
Great to get out and about and enjoy the fresh air on a not so pleasant Sunday afternoon. Thanks for the Cache.
We are currently visiting family in Mapua and are fitting in a little geocaching when we can.
We are very impressed by all the great work that has gone on in this area. It would be wonderful to see the new forest emerge. The cache was located without difficulty. Thanks for bringing us here Sidewaze.

Found it- great to find these newish walkways in such places. What a great thing for the future generations. TFTC
Our last one for the night and the closest to home. We found the previous one that was in this area when we were just starting caching, so we are closing the year off in the same spot.
A quick find on our way through, collected 2 TBs and dropped off 2 more, nothing like moving them around.
It has changed a lot since I found the previous cache here. I startled a mum duck and her tiny cute chicks near GZ. Left a couple of TB'S

On my way home from Mot with some time to make a few finds.
Approaching from Half Way Down I parked up before the intersection and took the underpass.
Cute wee fish ladder in the underpass.
A quick find and sign.

What a difference a couple of years makes. HorsegirlNZ and I first trod these boards a couple of years back - with mixed success I recall - although we did find the aforementioned beltfamliy cache, and the area has come on aplenty in that time. It will certainly be nice in the coming years...plenty of cache-hiding trees!
Back to current matters and having failed in my first look, resorted to the hint and was pointed to a far more likely place.
Thanks

Enjoyed the walk, amazing all those plants being planted, can't wait to see it in a few years.

There's certainly been a bit of work done in this reserve since I last visited it to find a cache. I thought it might be a bit of a rough terrain cache but when I spotted the side track, it was all good. Cache found in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
I remember finding the other cache here a few years ago, we took the more difficult route to that approaching from the underpass. Today it's all changed and it was a very easy stroll to this cache.
Thank you Sidewaze.
Thank you Sidewaze.
I remember this place. We went "nowhere" but did find a cache in the process Some time ago I had the opportunity to spend a day with the very people who were/are instrumental in restoring and planting this area and many more in the region. The outcomes of volunteer work and sponsorship by business are not always recognised by society at large but still enjoyed by all. Thank you Sidewaze
Big difference for sure and the area will only improve with the coming years. I was a little too late to find the previous resident but I enjoyed my walk while looking, and interesting to see the progress now. Thanks for the new cache!
A short outing to Mapua and we thought Motueka later for a coffee. This was the third stop and an ideal place to let Ellie stretch her legs. Some muggles were doing a great job of clearing the long grass so all the tracks were nicely maintained for our visit. At first we thought they may be near gz but then saw the side track which headed out of sight of them. It also proved a useful loop back to the car. No trouble making the easy find.
Thanks Sidewaze for the cache.

Out this way again today for another cache. I really enjoyed my wander along the track and boardwalk. It was like a field of buttercups on either side, then the flax and cabbage trees both in flower and a few tui darting round - a delightful walk on a lovely afternoon. I did think I needed to go cross country at one point but then decided perhaps I'd trust the walkway after all - and of course sure enough came to an intersection that took me in the right direction. Thanks for pointing out the progress here. TFTC #9599
The area will look great in a few years.
A familiar spot, with flattened grass confirming the GPS reading.
Thanks for the cache

Sobad had a date with the TV - but Mrs is not that worried about rugby so went out for a nice drive. Here it was a nice walk as well. We found the beltfamily cache here using the higher terrain route so the lower terrain was fine for Mrs S this afternoon. Admired the picnic table as well - wonder how much use it is going to get.
Thanks.
Thanks.
