We discovered Maryborough's history and classic Queensland architecture from the 1800s and visited the Mary Poopins Museum. We would like to thank all the owners for the great cachesTeam sissifalke

Arriving at this location, I knew that I needed to change my shoes and get sunscreen on, otherwise, there would never be the right opportunity. The cute little shelter nearby assisted with that preparation, and then [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I quickly found the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [FelixII](https://coord.info/PR4032090) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. ---------- During this trip, I travelled with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) (who was visiting from Adelaide, SA) and we visited Maryborough for an extended weekend.Friday was the drive north, which involved the full day with stops in Nambour, Eumundi, Pomona, Gympie, Tiaro, and Maryborough, and highlights included the *Evil* series and the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. The weekend's two days prioritised the *Jolly Brolly Folly* (JBF) series and *Geocaching 101* series, with a Sunday afternoon trip to Utopia Falls. Finally, Monday's itinerary included a few last geocaches that were in town, and we then returned home via Beaver Rock, Maaroom, and Tin Can Bay.A fun and rewarding trip with great company and friends, and we were rewarded with good weather throughout our trip.Today, the day commenced with Maryborough 5 km parkrun in hot and humid conditions. Subsequently, I caught up with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) in inner Maryborough for light sightseeing and a coffee, before then completing the *Jolly Brolly* series. It was then time for a few geocaches in western Maryborough, and then we circled from the north / via the airport to subsequently attend the [A Meet and Greet for the Southerners](https://coord.info/GCAF1AZ) event.

A quick find in an interesting location. Love your work.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. TFTC,
Day 3 in the area Visiting friends and after a tourist day yesterday, it was time to join forces with other cachers and have a big day doing the Jolly Brolly Folly Series . Opened the umbrella a couple of days ago on the 4WD track and we are now protected from any bad weather. We had solved all the puzzles when the series was published and have finally made our way here.
Adding other caches as we pass them. Added favourite and visited trackables.

28-Jun-23
Today we tackle the Jolly Brolly Folly Series and while in the area we found your cache along the way.

Cache and contents were in good condition.

Many thanks FelixII for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

We’ve come to Tiaro for 3 nights to see if we can do TheMaryPopIns series in 2 days. Our first time in our new van without power!! The concern about whether the battery is going to last is real!! Is the water going to last?

We grabbed this one along the way.

Thanks FelixII for the cache

Whilst out collecting Jolly Brolly caches we stopped at this location as there were some much needed facilities on offer! Whilst Mr Simber used those, I wandered over to GZ and made a quick find. Lovely spot to stop and stretch the legs and refuel for the next stages.

Made the drive up from Brisbane last night in the trusty van to enjoy a long weekend of caching. Headed out this morning with the jolly Bromley as my target. Quiet a few painstaking hours has gone into preparing for this weekend and I was glad to finally get the chance to turn a few into smilies.

Upon arriving at gz I found a safe place to park the geo wagon and made my way to ground zero. It wasn’t long before the prize was sighted and soon within my hands. The log was signed and I was pleased to turn this solved cache into a smilie.

Cache was returned to its hiding place and I was soon on my way to the next in this wonderful series.

A big thanks to the cache owner/owners who have made this cache available to be found by fellow cachers

Cheers

It definitely looks quite historical, although it’s so small I’m not entirely convinced that it deserves the moniker of hall. There were a few people up there today, possibly with the rural fire brigade, but as we made such a quick find I doubt anybody noticed us. It’s beautifully well maintained!

A planned trip north with a mate, to check out some of the countryside and do some camping in some not so usual spots. It has been fun and the best part is I get to cache in places I do not usually get to visit. It was also a good chance to catch up with a few local and other travelling cachers.

I grabbed a couple while on the road and then meet up with granny, imbunda, snickers, and triple turmoil to get stuck into the brollie series. We spent a good deal of the day racing along. There were some good hides and then there were those that we just could not find as easily. Over all it was “fun” but we got them all done in the day. I guess it is better with a few looking as opposed to just one.

While doing the series we got this one when passing. Thanks for the hide, we signed the log and replaced as found.

24-Aug-22
Day 6 in Maryborough and we headed out to begin the Jolly Brolly Series and any other caches we came to on our journey. We've had them solved for a while, but should have checked as a couple have been reworked and we had the old coords. There were a variety of hides and cache sizes and types with good accurate coords and some great clues. We had a mixed run with the tree fishing. We were successful with a number, but some were too high for our sizeable TOTT and others we just couldn't spot even though we searched for a long time.
An enjoyable series nonetheless. Congratulations to the creators.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache FelixII.

Day 14 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.

Today we drove from Gladstone to Maryborough. We targeted oldies and counties before hitting the Jolly Brolly Folly geoart just outside Maryborough. Another mixed weather day for us so when it started rain at the end of the day we found some accommodation earlier than usual. Weather cleared so we headed out again in the early evening and ended the day with the new mural adventure lab in town.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to all the CO’s.

27,924. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.

Day 14 of our Townsville Trek, and we drove from Gladstone down to Maryborough picking up a few golden oldie caches (one of which we missed last year), and tackled some of the Jolly Brolly Folly GeoArt caches. After lunch in a park in town we headed out to start these ones. We had solved them all before the Mega so it was just a matter of which ones our car could get to. Next one, and this was a bonus Trad we found alon g the way, and it wasa quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we continued along to the next one on our list.

Thanks FelixII !!

Earlier in the week I was checking out the map in preparation for our Tour de Ville when I noticed the first pieces of a new Geoart had been published…

Over the next couple of days I watched as the Jolly Brolly Folly came into being… Having spent a couple of late nights in front of the computer I did everything possible at home to make a day of it…

Despite a couple of aborted plans, everything came together nicely for today… so with PirateLinda and Patrol14 we left home in a fully stocked Le DeVine before sunrise this morning (it was supposed to be earlier) to make a day of it…

What a great little piece of history… thanks for getting us to stop and appreciate it…

Peppa mentioned new geoart forming near Maryborough and was keen to grab as many FTF caches as we could one day soon.
With Peppa madly solving puzzles over the last few days, we had enough to warrant a daytrip to the area and after a false start for Thursday, today was the day. An early start (5.30am!) from Brisbane and at 8.30am we were enjoying a much needed pick-us-up beverage in Tiaro before hitting the roads.

While on our way to another JBF cache, we stopped to grab this one. What a lovely looking hall and was interested in reading its history. Cache found, SL then returned.

Hi there FelixII.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around Maryborough today. We woke up early and started before the sun in order to beat the heat. We ended up finding a variety of containers hidden along our route.

All up we found 18 caches & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia..

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
