Logs
Google maps thought this road went right through, but it was wrong, so we were on the other side of the river and had to back track to get to the other half of the road, which looked more like a farm track, and we were in a campervan! Fortunately a small campervan and we managed to get to the cache and turn around. Cache lid was rusted on but I managed to get it open (with thanks to a nearby sharp pebble), and log was wet but managed to sign it. Happy to find this and sign off another minute for the latitude minute challenges I'm working on. Thanks!!
Took Heidi the Himalayan motorcycle for an overnight adventure, with the primary purpose to cache out the seaward side of SH1 south of Rakaia to the Ashburton River. After a largely productive day one and a night spent at Hakatere Campsite, a neat little unattended patch of grass on the side of a dead-end road right on the coast, I rose like the Undead to consume several coffees and continue my mid-week weekend mission.Day two consisted of many more kilometers of sealed and unsealed country roads, heading south to visit a Parental, then striking inland via the scenic route back to Home Base.TFTC
QEF at GZ soaking wet inside as bag not sealed TFTC and greetings from the UK
The cache container has seen better days, but the current logbook is fine. TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
No problems findig the cache, paper was wet and came apart when i went to pull it out, dried ziplock bag as best I could and chucked in some notepaper from an old notebook which should keep it going hopefully! Another SI minute achieved. Thanks!TFTC BrownscacheDiversBCD, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 3 today, making this find #4418
The log is damp but usable, cattle have been eating away at the cache camouflage; TFTC
Quickly found as I dodged about back roads
Had to back track several times due to flooded fords.

A nice quick find Caching with Little Horrible Signed the Log Book as 'Little Wombles'..TFTH
This cache was placed while we were overseas but we have been home for several years now so there was no excuse. We found the cache quickly but the log was too wet to sign so I put a new piece of paper into a plastic bag into the container. Hopefully, it will keep drier now.
The log had not been signed since May 2021 so it has been 9 months since it was last found. If you go by the definition of a lonely cache being unfound for 90 days then this certainly counts as "a lonely cache"

#18232. Troodles was navigator to get to this cache (which is unusual) and she jumped out to find this one while I turned around and worked out where to go next. Log too wet to sign, so we took a photo. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day one of a 4 day trip down south to Oamaru, a consolation holiday for us, as in a COVID-19 free world, we would currently be in Seattle .
A bit tricky navigating around these roads, and this is in an out of the way place. No worries making the find. Good to add another Pivot to the tally. TFTC.

School holiday request from Miss 8. So off we went for a cute family adventure. Easy finding but the ford after was quite the adventure! A lot deeper than expected!
A trip on the Ural around some of the many gravel roads in the Fairlie, Pleasant Point , Geraldine triangle...the weather was on the damp side , so there were a few loud cracks from the fence!!!
A quick and easy find, third time's the charm. First time there was was a mountain of blackberry, 2nd the blackberry was cleaned away, witht he cache, and today. Whew. Cheers
Heading to Timaru for the weekend, there have been a few new caches published off the beaten track since we were last down this way.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Extended family tenting for a couple nights at the nearby Farmyard. Popping out late afternoon for a couple things from the supermarket....detoured for a couple caches along the way. Supermarket visited; now a wide loop back to the campsite. Nice quiet wee spot down a random road. Nice new fence and pivot in the background. Cheers.
Third time lucky! Thank you to the farmer who cleared away the blackberry and the downed trees and built a nice new fence.

In Geraldine ca(t)ching up with BCD. Out for a Sunday drive. Definite bush bashing required for this one and watch out for the brambles! Cache safe and sound. TFTC
Its never a proper trip through this part of the country without finding a pivot or two these days. Not a pivot in sight today but did find the cache way in here off the beaten track. TFTC # 11,218
found all dry after a bit of a search as it had obviously been misplaced after that recent rain ttc Mr BCD
Now that was a mucky road. The frost had got to the surface so we walked it. Phew spotted the cache from some distance and managed to avoid the nasties!! No sign of a Pivot though. Thanks m.
quick check on this still there squashed the odd bramble branch down for easier access cache all good
KR and I gave this a bit ofa a nudge but no luck, got stymied with fences and a good barrier of blackberry. Well be back. Cheers
No luck today.
We looked for a way in but decided there were easy fish to fry.

Bitsprayer made the find as I was still trying to avoid the brambles!
Thanks

A quick find once we found our way into the hiding place. Not the most enjoyable location, which may deteriorate as the blackberry spreads further. TFTC
A bit hesitant when saw where the GPS was suggesting but surprisingly a quick find. TFTC
This was to be the last of nine local caches that the children and I had listed for a whirlwind around-the-block caching trip. We know we were in the right place from others' bushbashing, but we couldn't get closer than 20 metres because of the flourishing (and high) blackberry.
This was the last of nine caches today. We were still 16 metres from GZ and decided the blackberry was too formidable. Could see the pivot to the west though.
I had been looking for a irrigation pivot but instead spied P of Me&Pedro's tracks through the long grass to this cache. Thanks Pedro. The simularity of the cache placement to that of END OF TERM final had me wondering about all the CO's cache placements that I'm likely to come across over the next 3 days. [?]
Sent P bush bashing to find this one. We covered a lady and her dog in dust it just blew everywhere. TFTC
After missing the other 2 ftf I wasn't holding much hope on getting this one either so took my time to get to it and found others on the way instead. Came in from the wrong end first and due to all the recent rain I wasn't getting it from that end so a long detour around and reached gz. A quick dive and grab and opened it to find I was ftf. That surprised me. Tftc BCD [FTF]
