More Fool us for climbing the Hill for two caches with previous DNFs - didn't find either of them today.
Enjoyed our 17.5 km round trip from our lodging collecting caches on the southern circuit of the river trail yesterday. Today we hope to collect the remaining caches in and around Turangi on a much shorter circuit of about 8km. However, we failed to find this cache after what we thought was a pretty good search. The beautiful Autumn colours were a delight and Turangi will certainly be somewhere we come to again. Thanks G-2 for bringing us here.
Fabulous panoramas can be seen from this trail making it well worth the hike up to this cache. Thanks for providing an incentive to walk this way today! Cache and contents are in good condition.
From memory, this was a dense pine forest.
Evidently, that was all cleared years ago.
Great spot, tftc!

Find number 4643. Another fool on the hill and this one had left his pen at a couple of caches ago. So I have a photo of log as proof. I may be a fool but not an idiot to go down to the car for a replacement and then come back up. Thank you for the placement and hope the log is ok.
On our 30th day in New Zealand we stayed around beautiful Lake Taupo. We did again some walks and were looking for some caches. Very interesting for us was also the busy happenings at the boat ramp, how quick it goes to put a boat into the water and take it out again. We sat there for quite a while just watching. We also visited some very interesting hot pools. And we looked of course again for some caches. After returning back to Turangi we went for a short little evening walk along the river. Two days ago we looked for the caches on the left hand side of the river and today we added the right hand side. We could find all the caches well.

T4TC from Germany
Heading back to Wellington from the Waikato today with some time for some caching - yay! A pleasant short walk up the hill which was a great antidote to just sitting in the vehicle and the cache was a quick find after having checked the decoys first. I had previously found most of the other caches along this walkway so headed back down and on my way after finding this one. Signed log, TFTC
#10,527. We returned for some more walking in Waiotaka Valley this morning in between the showers. The track was not too busy, coming across a dog walker and two cyclists along the way. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Rain stopped at last and sun shining now. Beautiful clear river as we set off to the viewpoint. Good hairpin path so far, impressive views over valley. Moose TB dipped, photo attached. TFTC. TM from N Wales
Today was part one of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier... with time to find a few caches along the way, of course. All good here. Cache is safe and sound. TFTC, Biggles.
After a long drive from Gisborne to Turangi we needed to stretch our legs. The beautiful river walk was just perfect to do so. Thanks for all the caches along our path!
It was time to go to the next shade of green on my GC.COM calender for today so a trip to Turangi was needed to get the numbers.
Replaced the logsheet here as the old one was nearly full. The cache was pretty obvious so I put it back where the hint says it to be.
Cheers for the cache.

we have wanted to get these for a while now, and today we had the time and the bikes, all up it took roughly 1.5 hour start to finish thanks for the placement we only missed 2 but we can grab them next time .
Grabbing a cache here and there while on holiday from Australia...this was the 27th...A great view and a surprisingly tricky find...TFTC!
Very warm morning but rain on the mountains so decided to walk the riverside. Nice quick find between walkers. Tftc
Easy stop and sign. Some muggles today, so care was exercised. Cache in great shape. Superb view spot.

Found this cache together with my family (Sibuk and Finn). For details see the log of Sibuk.
Thanks for the cache, Lupid

During our wonderful vacation in New Zealand Lupid, me, and our little geocaching apprentice managed to find some caches.
Today we did a quite long walk along the Tongariro river: starting from our home south of the highway we went the eastern shore upstram up to the swing bridge. There we changed the side and went further upstream up to the red hut bridge (apart from a longer part really near to the highway a really nice walk). Then we went back creating a figure-8-like track.
On our way we searched for most of the caches along the way. On our way we skipped some as it got a little bit later than expected - seems we were a little bit slow today
Thanks for all the caches and greetings from Germany, Sibuk

I wandered up here after breakfast and found it to be a little easier than Ruapehu which I tackled yesterday but the views were definitely worth the effort.
This is a spectacular vantage point.
Thanks for bringing me here

Great views on a family walk, which encouraged us to keep going on the trail! TFTC.
We’re in Turangi on a family holiday so geocaching is not the priority. However, it’s good to fit an occasional cache in. After the last two days’ atrocious weather we were itching to get out so walked some of the River Walkway. Fortunately the loop we did included this cache not here last time we were. It was a straightforward find, using the helpful hint, and made by a muggle family member - who was pleased with herself.
There’s a good view from up here showing the river still somewhat swollen from all the rain. Thanks for bringing us back here. TFTC

I was staying in Turangi and have never had chance to do some of these river walk caches, only chance at the small loop today, Nice quick find. TFTC
Had found this cache on a previous occasion but lacked a pen...this time it was a quick easy find with Mini Swiss and Miss Swiss. Beaut view today
Found on a Christmas Day stroll from the Turangi Kiwi Campsite with family. Georgia was lifted up to look for this one and spotted the well camouflaged container. Good views nearby. Merry Christmas. SL. TFTC.
Thanks for a nice hike up the hill. You get a nice lay of the land looking from here. Only two more days left in New Zealand before we head back to the USA. Had a great time.
This was the first day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
I thought this might be too much of a climb, but when I got up to the cache, it certainly was. TFTC.

The youngest didn't quite have the reach for this.....fortunately I did. Nice view TFTC!
Another fool found a cache on a hill. This fool is on her way to Wellington but keeps stopping because it's so beautiful here. Let's hope I get there while it's still today!
Nice quick find during a pit stop on way back to Rotorua and chance to meet with Ramjet57. Tftc!
Kadybug and I came out after dark and I lost my pen while hunting for a previous cache. Last one for the night as it's really dark now and raining. We couldn't sign the log but as you can see from the photo we genuinely found your cache

Found with Julesyb (mum) but we both lost the pen so mum will post photo evidence when she logs it.
Almost got confused about which stump to look at but found it in the end. TFTC.
Decided to take the geohounds for a walk after the long drive north from Wellington. We all made our way up the hill and found this cache along with the beautiful view. Did with the geohounds and Mycro Man. Thanks for the cache.
My second cache from TRT trail walk for today. After the zigzag trail finally have a good spot for break & enjoy the view of Tongariro River. Greetings from Indonesia. TFTC
Beautiful day to take in a ride to the top with Miss 7 well admittedly we pushed the bikes up. We have been coming annually to Turangi for the last 3 years and not ventured up here before so thanks for making us do it
We’d planned to do the Tongariro River cache today but the rafts don’t leave till 12 and the mountain bikes were free to borrow. So our adventure began following the track back into Turangi, over the bridge and up the hill to this cache. Found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Looking forward to the downhill ride to RedHut and back to the Tongariro River Rafting HQ.
Cheers G-2 TFTC

Don't normally come this way on the bikes as there is either a steep climb or a tricky descent so decided to make a special trip and grab this one. Ended up overshooting GZ initially but soon located the cache and spent a moment enjoying the view. TFTC G--2 and great to meet you at the Mega here several months back.
In Turangi visiting my daughter and going white water rafting. Left geo hubby in bed snoring while I went for an early morning walk on a sunny day. Love this walk and it's views. TFTC
From over here we had a really really nice view above the tongariro river.. Thanks for showing..
Another nice find on the way past.
Enjoying the drive around, heading slowly towards home today.
Nice walk up the hill.

Another good walk but had to do it as had all smiling faces along here after the megs thanks
Down from Whangarei to do the Crossing, but the mountain was closed for 3 days, so took the opportunity to do the river trail and grab a few caches. A bit of a steep hill, but worth it for a quick find. TFTC
The bush is regenerating well after the initial planting of natives up here. Looked behind the wrong stump in haste but it wasn't far away!
