Mrs NZT and I decided to have a road trip day today. Left home at 6.30am (crazy I know when we are on holiday but then this is holiday enjoyment for us!!!), drove lots of kms all over the place and back home in time for dinner with a nice haul of smiles (we mostly had smiles today woohoo).I spied 5 trees here but Mrs NZT followed the geo trail for a quick find (not hanging anymore) of the two caches side by side!! We signed the one that didn't look as wet. Thanks for the cache.

04-Jan-24
A last minute plan was hatched for Keylev and Mrs NZT to have a girls day out in the Waikato today. We started out early in the day. grabbed a coffee at Mercer and then started caching. We had a great day driving around lesser travelled roads and enjoying the sun. Got a few newer adlabs completed and also a number of other more traditional caches. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches. Finally finished back in Pokeno with a well deserved ice cream and after 11 hours caching we were ready to head home for some dinner. A GREAT day out. Parking was a little tricky as we were driving south, but we managed to do a U turn further up the hill and make a stop by the trees. Once we found the right tree the cache was quickly spotted by Keylev. TFTC!

Headed down this way today with the intention of collecting the Pickup 52 trail of caches, and any others along the way....as am in need of some numbers for my goal for the year.....

Thank you to the CO's for cache placement, and bringing me to these locations.

After locating all I could of the Pickup 52 series, I was still left with quite some time before heading home....in other words it was still light, so I went in search of other caches on lesser travelled roads for me.........

TFTC....

10-Sep-20
out for a days caching in the area. busy road with tractors working around here.

29-Feb-20
There were a lot of turkeys around today crossing the road in numerous places and going about their gobbling duties so we had to be careful and let them cross the road in their own time.
We initially overshot GZ and had to drive past and turn around further up the road, encountering more turkeys along the way who had to deal with us driving through and then turning around and heading back immediately afterwards.
At GZ we checked a couple of spots before locating the cache but found it quite quickly thanks to the hint.
We then ended up driving back the wrong way due to the way our car was angled and had to go trough the turkeys and back one more time. But we gave them the courtesy of having the right of way so they were fine with our presence.
Nice hiding spot. TFTC.

23-Feb-20
Quick find out with team Gold. Right where the hint said!

22-Feb-20
Down from Northland for the weekend with the prime objective being to do the Hakarimata Trail. That was delayed a day because of the weather, so we ended up doing the Waikato River walk today and getting soaked in the process. After Team G0LD dried out at the pub, we then headed off for some more caches on the way back to our accommodation.

After a short detour off the main road, we stopped beside this one, which was a nice quick find in the hint location. TFTC

22-Feb-20
I'm down from Paihia for a geocaching weekend with team G0LD: Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ. They're going to walk the Hakarimata track on Sunday. I got shin splints training for the walk so unfortunately I can't join them.

We picked up a few caches yesterday on the way down. Today's weather forecast wasn't good so the big walk so it was postponed until tomorrow. Our main aim for today is the Waikato River walk series. We're just connecting a few smiles on our way. I've driven through Huntly many times admiring the river. I never new about this lake and the lovely views along this road. I made a fast find at gz, thanks Smile

A. A lot!

09-Jun-18
The daughter, Gulla04 and me went to pick up the easily-solved mystery caches of the I series today in the nice weather. A great trip, though it was almost solely car-based. The ambition was to find half of the
series, and we managed that without problems, with a mean of 15 caches per hour including the lunch break.

At the end we had found one odd traditional (that we picked up after having driven a bit randomly around in the hopes of finding a cup of coffee and a muffin to start the day - and failing... This area is not the center of civilization.), 45 mysteries and the multi solvable by streetview, and had picked up what hopefully is the required numbers for two more of the multis. No dnfs! Great maintenance!

"Hopefully" since the cache text of the multis did not make it to my gps for some (html?) reason, so guesses had to be made... It can also be mentioned that GC74EPA was lidless and full of water.

We signed as GSH today.

Gulla does not log on net (yet?): I dip [her coin](https://coord.info/TB5QWVN) in the caches she visits with me.

Tftc! Favorite points will be awarded after the next trip when we get the second half of the caches.

28-May-18
Seems to have lost a little altitude, TFTC

28-May-18
I found it just where vectis said. TFTC.

19-May-18
Heading down to our Waikato base this afternoon before attending this evenings Event. Having a bit of time in hand allowed us to detour down towards Lake Waikare to pick up a few more caches. The cache is no longer hidden as per the hint, but was quickly spotted when we got to the correct tree. TFTC

28-Mar-18
After finishing up work this morning I decided to reward myself with an afternoon drive in the country. Nice to get out into the fresh air of nature and add some finds to the tally. I initially missed the parking at GZ and drove past. I did a u-turn a bit further down the road and then parked up close to ground zero and got to searching. After a brief look I soon spotted the hide and completed the formalities. Right, time to turn around and head South again. Cheers for the cache placement!

On a big day trip with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83, the goal of the day was to tackle the Eyes Have It Series, and a select few others on the route. Thanks to all the cache owners for their placements and maintenance, we really appreciate all the work into cache ownership! A great day for driving and hunting down caches, no issues or problems were had.

A straightforward find, thanks for the hide! Big Grin

03-Dec-17
Vamber, KirsTim and myself decided to tackle some of the Waikato caches today, or rather focus on the eyes have it series and anything we came across on route. Thank you to all the cache owners for their cache placements, they are very much appreciated. It was a hot day with the threat of thunder storms (which we got on the drive home) and ended up suffering for hayfever for the first time in my life, legs attacked by long grass but this is all in the life of a cacher, we had no issues with farmers or the like.

Time nearly had his head taken off by a turkey making its quick get away, and we found the cache on the ground as per previous finder. TFTC

03-Dec-17
Out in the Waikato with half of Vamber & Yorkshirekiwi83 to do The Eyes Have It series. Having completed the series we had time for a few more caches, even though the rain had started. Freaked us out when we startled a turkey hiding in the grass. Cache is no longer a clear container, nor 'in' a tree, but found all the same, thanks

31-Oct-17
instead of looking up, look down, hint might need updating here, tftc

28-Oct-17
Out on a bit of a cache run, even though its a little rainy. Oh Well. I'm all booked in to Rotorua for the night, so on I go.

I could not believe my luck!!! Just after a couple of weeks of having been up north, I got an unexpected invite to AUT, with an opportunity to come up the weekend before (=do some caching!!). With flights and accommodation sorted, I was more than happy to invest in a rental car for the weekend Wink I was making this one much more difficult for myself than it needed to be! TFTC!!

17-Sep-17
Nice quick find on our way back to Tauranga, not hanging but at ground level as noted by a previous finder. Thanks for the placement.

09-Sep-17
It wasn't where I was expecting to find it. But a QEF all the same. TFTC

18-Aug-17
Found this cache on our way to Rotorua for the annual Tough Guy n Gal Challenge. It is no longer hanging, but is at the base of the tree. Someone has kindly left a new log in a sealed plastic bag.

26-Jul-17
No problems with this one. T4tc

26-Jul-17
Yep like others I can relate to this eye level height. Not last night even though it was a loooong session with all the cuzzies after an elderly aunts funeral. All ok here. Thanks for the cache placement.

25-Jul-17
Nice quick drive by find here....taking a detour from our normal Auck trek ...nice area thanks for the cache

16-Jul-17
After being cooped up inside all week with bad weather, sick child and school holidays I had scheduled in today for some 'me time'. I had planned to clean up around Hamilton but after finding a few urban hides I was well and truly over it and decided to head into the country for some peace and quiet and some nice country roads.

Soon spotted the cache in a different spot to the hint, and I see you have done maintenance. Thanks for the fresh cache and log. Not too much of a hunt thankfully!

17-Jun-17
Had a big day out with TF and headed home this way, although he had found this little group of 3 he was kind enough to stop so we could make the find. TFTC

12-Jun-17
Log a bit wet, nice drive through here...TFTC

27-May-17
Log wet, While I like the way you'd mae sure this cache can't go walkabout - the cache container construction has meant it has had water inside it, and the log it on its way to disintergrating Sad sorry to be the bearer of bad news. In other news its amazing how quiet it is out here!

30-Apr-17
A rather fortuitous Trade Me purchase has brought us to Auckland and conveniently I've turned this into 2 days of caching as well. We're on the way home now and this was a tricky park and grab. Drove past it the first time and had to turn back. Found the cache quickly and in good condition thanks to good coords and a straight forward placement. cheers gemmaquak - TFTC.

25-Apr-17
It's still very early in the morning, still dark and I'm having a fairly big day of caching here and then into Hamilton. I didn't read the logs until I had searched for awhile, it was then I saw the log about the correct eye height, i.e the ground! Then I found the cache. I may have replaced the paper, but I can't remember.

25-Apr-17
log later

12-Apr-17
The container is still tied to the tree and at eye level, if you are lying on the grass. The log is now too wet to make an impression with a pen, except to tear the paper.

Thanks gemmaquak.

04-Mar-17
TFTC. The branch is no longer at eye level.

26-Feb-17
Another great find on the way home from a short trip away.
Nice drive around this area.
Container still tied to branch, but at GL now.

On an impromptu caching raid into the Waikato, a quick find in the company of harisree. Not too hard a find at GZ with good coords, but only eye level for me after I've had waaay too much to drink. TFTC!!!

19-Jan-17
During the monthly 18@18 event Kiwi69 mentioned an interest in taking off for an afternoon of Geocaching and since I had not returned to work yet and my wife was agreeable to the idea a plan was quickly hatched. Kiwi69 popped around for some lunch and then we shot off heading north with me driving and a rough plan in place. I really enjoyed the drive, the Geocaching and the company. Thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches we found and for maintaining them.

We nearly missed this one and had to do a geo-turn/ U-turn to come back and get it. Cache was in great shape, thanks for hiding it.

19-Jan-17
An enjoyable catch up with local geocachers at the monthly 18@18 event last night in Hamilton also led to plans for a very impromptu mini-mission with IamMrWalker to cache along the Tahuna-Ohinewai Road this afternoon. My recent knee op limits my caching options for the time being, but its great to be out & about again, enjoying great caching company, finding caches and, even better today, driveby placements that don't require much walking or deep knee bends! A nice quick find here with spot-on co-ordinates. Log signed, cache all good, TFTC

13-Jan-17
Finished work for the first week back from the holidays, so decided to celebrate and grab a few caches that I haven't got yet. This was as far North as I was prepared to go as I didn't have all night to go caching. Quick find without the need of the GPS once I parked the car nearby. Thanks for the hide.

04-Jan-17
Finished work early to head to the Huntly area to get some caches A quick find tftc

04-Jan-17
Thanks for this cache which has brought us back to this area for a pleasant drive. The cache is in good order, but I wonder how long the string will last. Thick fishing nylon will stand up to the weather better, or a couple of cable ties? TFTC.

01-Jan-17
If you look closely you can see TF's Mai Mai from here... Just to the left on the lake.

30-Dec-16
I decided that we would pick up a few caches that weren't lying on any main drag.

Managed to finsh work a little early and so it was a case of collecting a few out lying cahes in the north Waikato on the way home. A nice and quick find in the area and then onto the next one.

2586 Was using the phone but it got stuck so I pulled over in a safe parking space. Transferred the co-ords to my GPS and found I was in the right place. Quick find. Plum tree is not far away from being ripe.

We were in Rotorua picking up a few caches when the notification came in, usually it would have been a FTF hunt, but over 100km away so we left it for today.

Just arrived as we saw another (local) cacher leaving, TB drop

04-Dec-16
3.05pm - This weekend was going to be all about cache numbers.
With a semi plan made the squirrel and I hit the roads around south Auckland.
Also along the way a few puzzles that we had solved we collected.
Also one puzzle with a starting point at certain address which we have passed numerous times we thought we could wing this and find it.
Much to our delight we got it. great haul of caches this weekend ,and some very interesting locations.
A couple of misses and with some areas cordoned off we missed a couple more.
All in all a successful weekend. SLTFTC
