Thought we should check this one out due to recent DNF’s. As a result we’re confident its gone.
Out for a morning by myself, getting numbers up before the mega this weekend. Good morning out, but alas, No sauce here
Ages ago, my phone pinged when a virtual cache was published at Echuca
I was ever so tempted however I knew there was a geocacher there who did a lot for geocaching and the local community [:X].... so I gave him a heads up and an 'until midnight' free pass [^] Many has been the day when I wondered why I did that[?][?][?]
At 2am Friday night [|)] I realised there was a new virtual , still unfound 8 days after publication [?], in a place that I had been to before and from which I had taken away great memories of the tour of The Drives Black fairy floss was my description of the mould in the tunnels
Having woken late this Saturday morning [|)][|)], I had no intention of going for a loooong drive to find this new virtual near Ararat...... but we all know that a caching weekend is hard to resist! Particularly with the lure of a possible FTF on a virtual too [^]
So Rex and I took off about midday and drove, drove and drove to the Seppelts/Great Western winery and not a cache was found on the way Yeah, I know... shock and horror!! [xx(]
Exiting Harry, Rex and I headed into the Shaft Room and I lined up the shot [^] then, with shaking fingers, I logged the find online
On our way out we had a chat with Alan in the winery as we bought a couple of bottles of lovely sparkling Shiraz [^][^] (apparently Seppelts/Great Western were the first winery in Australia to make sparkling Shiraz... no wonder it's so nice ) and reminisced about the knowledgeable tour guide for our SABERS motorcycle group's tour back on 25th November 2012
If you get the chance, do The Drives tour as it is fascinating! [^]
I also needed to find an EarthCache for International Earth Cache Day and blow me down, very close by was an EC by Geo Bro' [:X]
We spent the night at the Brambuk backpackers hostel in Halls Gap before grabbing a few caches in that town of happy memories on the Sunday.
By the end of the weekend, we had 2 DNFs and 24 cache finds and we arrived back home at about 11pm on Sunday night, tired [|)][xx(][|)][xx(] but happy with a trip that also included Halls Gap and the finding of a cache that had been DNFd twice before in years past! [^]
DNF! Pulled up, got out of Harry and looked at the area and said to myself 'this looks familiar! Why[?]' Seems I'd found the previous cache here on a prior trip to Ararat
Sadly this cache was not found too
I'm thinking GZ may have been rearranged

Mrs Riddell was stumped here.
No muggles and plenty of time.
There were only 2 associations with legs in the vicinity and neither seemed to harbour a magnetic mint.
Moving on
THanks for the fun.

Quick find today whilst in town visiting the health service for work. Neat hide. Fab point added for highlighting an amazing building/piece of history. Many thanks for the cache.
Great tour and when they let me out I was able to claim the prize, thanks to the hint. Tftc
Was up at Ararat and just around the corner so why wouldn’t I come and grab this. Thanks for this cache. Find No: 985
Love the old j ward building. Bluestone structures are amazing in ararat. Quick find log book stamped and moved on. Tftc nards.
Took us a little while, GPS location not perfectly accurate. The hint was a big help!!!
After calling in at Woolies to get our provisions we decided to stop here at the old gaol for lunch. We enjoyed a nice picnic, read the info boards and then found the nicely hidden cache.
TFTC and for bringing us here, we found it really interesting and decided to head on to the old psych hospital/prison.

Just had lunch at the nice park, checked iPhone and noticed this close by cache, at GZ had to wait for muggles to leave the car park, then the cache was a quickly found but had to retreat to geoxtrail to sign log as the roller door started to open and had to wait for muggle on lawnmower to leave. Found this cache thanks to spot on co ords. We were able to have a good look at this amazing building - what craftmanship! Can't get this standard of work now a days. Thanks Nards Nuggles.
Fun find with fisherfinders3. Such a good way to start the year. Lovely location we will have to come back and go on one of the tours and hear about the history of this amazing building . TFTC
Geohubby & I went for a J ward tour many many years ago. Geohubby grew up in Ararat & we are visiting relatives for the holidays. After dinner we went for a twilight wander with the geokids who were uncharacteristically excited upon learning about J ward & have asked to come back for a tour tomorrow. TFTC & giving the geokids something to be excited about that’s not Minecraft NN xo
We headed to this cache after sitting out the rain at a nearby cache. A quick find here as there was not a soul to be seen. SL TFTC
After an unsuccessful attempt last night in the winter like weather, we came back this morning to find it within minutes. Very creative hiding and idea! Found by Isaac and Abbie
Driving back to Adelaide from Melbourne’s Parkville Mega event today, Freddo and I attended the coffee event before starting our pilgrimage home and geocaching via Ararat and Horsham.
We didn't stay long once we got this geocache, but wouldn't mind checking out this location in more detail at a future stop. Some interesting history, and sounds like it would make a fun ghost experience during a night tour! Thanks!

after an unsuccesful bid yesterday, i read through the comments & looked at the pix again this morning. armed afresh with this new information i set out triumphantly & beheld the object of desire as it gleamed it's minty tin shine
Located this one this afternoon after a short search. I recall doing a cache a little while back, in the exact same spot so this one was a cinch. The cache was soon logged and I continued on my way home. Thanks Nards Nuggles for the hide and for highlighting this grand old building.
Get out of jail card is in play, we have taken two weeks off from the farm. Mini tour from Porepunkah to where-ever and back catching some caches on the way
Day 10 - Great Western to Beaufort (a grand distance of 60km)
We need six today to get us to our next milestone, pleased to find that his was an easy find. Only 3 to go. We found the cache, then waited to do a tour of JWard. Scary place. Thanks for the hide Nards_Nuggles

Caching buddies: Muggle Anshi
A few muggles were around but the hint made sense to me as I have a few years of experience. Found it in the first place I looked.

Found today while waiting for the museum tour to start. Mrs Juc made the find.
Thanks for this cache.
Thanks for this cache.
Eventually found this after couple of attempts. Think the coordinates are out by several meters. Just put cache back in time before a tour group emerged through roller door! That was close!
Finally managed to retrieve it after some attempts & visits to J-Ward, this Carpark seems to be popular and busy and with onlookers it's hard to get the cache.
Getting the cache was quick and easy, contrary to taking the log out of the container!

Final leg of an amazing trip to S.A.'s iconic Yorke Peninsula. We allowed time around Ararat, to seek out the caches, left untouched last time we were in the area.
An interesting peek into Aussie history.
Satellites today had our GZ 9 metres NNE of where we found the cache.
Thanks to 'Nards_Nuggles' for the hunt and cache placement
