Sadly the cottage was closed today but we had a look through the windows...then I had a look in the bushes! TFTC
Caching day in Canberra I arrived last night and got the virtual at the airport which gave me a cache in very state and territory in Australia in 5 months. So today was all about numbers wont know untilI complete my logs how well I did but I walk 19.5 km. Off to my event soon TFTC
Took some searching but finally came up with it.There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tankengine.**SKI Pair****
Found this cache while exploring the Blundells Heritage Markets. Helpful hint, found with a combined effort. Tftc!
When we made a walk at the lake, we visited some Caches. Thias was one of our founds today. Thank you to the owner for this cache.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. With only light rain forecast we decided to take the GeoBikes back into the City and attempt the caches and AdLabs along Anzac Parade. With a quick stop at Duntroon to collect some previously missed caches. Unbeknownst to us out of towners the CBD was a bit of a traffic nightmare due to road closures for the Canberra Marathon. [B)] It took forever to move the last 1km.Once on the bikes things went a bit smoother. Mr Felix tackled mostly the AdLabs whilst Mrs Felix tackled the intercache and Wherigo. Before joining forces again and visiting the war memorial for the 3rd time this week to gather yet more information. The rain tried to get us but held off other than a couple of very light sprinkles. Looking forward to coming back here on 25th April 2024. TFTC Tankengine
Since I'm in Canberra for Mega, I've enjoyed seeing many places as well as the warm weather. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache ?? Tankengine.
2/4/2024 Find #6967The final day in Canberra for KBreeAHH, Captain Terror and me, and we were going to pack it with caching before handing the hire car back and relaxing in the lounge at the airport. Having been up as far as Murrumbateman and then Yass this morning, we were now back down in Canberra for our final caches. We had decided to do a walking circuit around here to complete our mission. KBreeAHH got her caching on today and went undercover here, where after a short search she found the cache. Thanks for the cache Tankengine.
A cooler day for wandering the inner Canberra locations.A bit of light rain in the morning, sunny skies in the afternoon and a cold breeze to end the day.We enjoyed doing a few Adventure Labs, trads, multis, and other caches.Well done for the locations and the hides. Thanks to Tankengine for this placement, all quiet here this afternoon.
Found during the Mega event. Tankengine, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.

We heard about a Mega in Canberra a year ago. Having never been to the big capital, we booked our accommodation and the planning began.Which caches shall we do? Wow they really love their mystery caches in ACT! Ok, we need to get our thinking caps on and solve some of these puzzles pronto. We have made the trek from Adelaide to be here and appreciate the efforts of all those involved to make the Capital Geobash happen. We have hired bikes to ride around the lake today.
As part of the tour group, we walked a ton of miles and signed all the caches as LT2. I was glad the building was open so we could walk through after finding the cache. I love historic buildings. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 3 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega from the U.S. and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It was another day that started with an awesome tour around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was warm and the cachers were friendly. We were led by tankengine, one of the cachers who had a hand in the gadget caches at the mega, has awesome mysteries and other caches in the area. He kept us moving the entire time and we were able to get all the caches on our list. Then I attended the mega which was a lot of fun. There were so many people! The gadget caches were amazing, the adventure labs were fun, and the evening get together for trivia was a blast. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
Found with hevwalker on the Lake Burley Griffin Tour 2. All logs are signed as LT2 to save space. Beautiful views during the walk around this part of lake. Thanks for being our guide and for taking us on this tour. Heard the sounds of drums as we walked through the gardens, we turned a corner and there he was playing the drum. TFTC Tankengine

A little bit of tooing and froing required here, but no muggles interrupting our search. Thanks for another one Tankengine.
On our bikes today. We were suppose to be having a non caching day, going to visit the sister-in-law, however she had to cancel due to important client meetings. The price of being a small business owner. Hall was on the cards but we decided to leave that for another day and go into the lake, picking up what we could and adding a few Ad Labs. This one had us scratching around for a while until we widened our search. Soon found and managed not to get scratched in the process.Total Caches Found 15679TFTC Tankengine
I was out for a ride around the lake today. I stopped for a coffee at the nearby van and noticed this was nearby. A bit of head bobbing in the bushes gave me a clue where to start and not long later cih. Nice one. Thanks for the cache TS.
This was the last of the walk along the lake for new years. It was an easy find thanks to my epic vision spotted the cache from 6m out where once again I highly regret forgetting a pen so proof is below of find. Thanks Tankengine for these caches really nice walk.TFTC, #178

Wandered round and round GZ scratching our heads and even finding something embedded in the tree (not the cache) untill we tried one last thing and sure enough there it was
Giving this one a FP, not so much for the hide but for bringing us to the cottage which was open 10-2 Saturday and Sunday and we really enjoyed having a look and seeing how the early settlers lived. What was most interesting was how many families shared the dwellings. Some of the rooms were like one of the bedsit apartments I have lived in. TFTC
We found this cache on Day 1 of our Vic1 Canberra Run in company of Muzza, McLookers, Micaparamedic, Alansee, Moonb1, Maccamob, Team Crackers and Pprass. Time for a spot of lunch near the lake and there was a cache nearby that we just had to grab. Thanks from D B-A
First day of group caching around Canberra today, mainly concentrating on AdLabs, of which we managed 101 total waypoints.
I visited this cache with Muzza, McLookers and Rabbitto.
A quick find while in the area grabbing a few AdLabs and having lunch on the banks of Lake Burley Griffin.

Final Day - Day #5 [18-2] of 5 for my trip away. Today is the end of my trip away but I still have two days of leave before reality takes over. The main focus for today’s finds were the newer Labs in Queanbeyan. I also found a few other caches around Canberra, including the ones around the Blundells' Cottage. This is the first time visiting this historic site and better yet, I even got a tour of the lovely building. This was all before heading to the Belconnen mall for lunch and shopping. Afterwards, I headed off to another cache which has been on the to-find-list for far too long. Now it’s time to head home. It’s sad to see it come to the end but I have many new memories for years to come. It was great to use Geocaching as my guide because it took me to many unique places both I already knew about and others I certainly didn’t, until now. My next big Geocaching trip I am looking forward to, is to Rutherglen for the mega. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC’s
P.S. Sorry, about the generic logs. I will endeavour to edit them at some point in the future for the extended story, FP’s and/or photos. This is when I have more time on my hands.

This is my third trip to Canberra this year, and day two of the trip. I have met up with oz_bean_counter, and today Pprime has driven to pick us up and cruise around Canberra grabbing geocaches I couldn't ordinarily walk to on work trips and such. A nice warm-up before heading to the Snowies tomorrow!
Back in October (my first visit for the year) I had a most enjoyable time finding the multicache at [Blundells Building](https://coord.info/GL18H3Y9M). But for some reason, neglected to wander into the backyard. It was on the list today for some reason, and so after parking nearby, there was no reason to not.
Prime and I lead the charge into the shrubbery, and a few rabbits scarpered. In here I noted a lot of single-use 10c drink containers. Several dollars worth if someone collected and returned them all! After just a moment, I found a classic Tankengine container and was passed a pen. Just about 11:15 I signed our names and replaced as found.
I think the other two were keen on AdLabbing a short distance away. I sat in the shade of a tree next to the cottage - watching the world gently drift by for a while. I really do love Canberra. Thank you for bringing me back here, Tankengine

The first of many caches for my birthday holiday in Canberra. This one is one the list because… for some reason it’s cool. It’s old, its a jasmer, it’s got heaps of favourite points, it’s got a view, but or it’s near something that does. Either way, I guarantee I had a great time grabbing it. Thanks for making my birthday awesome!

Today we visited the Australian War Memorial before walking down Anzac Parade. What a solemn and thought-provoking place. So many conflicts, so many sacrifices, so many lives lost...
After some more caches our geocaching day ended on a lighter note at the Carillon.
Neat hide, found it quite easily after the rabbits had hopped away.

We are travelling down from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Canberra for a 6 day (5 night) holiday, staying in a park cabin at Alivio Tourist Park in O'Connor, and planning to explore the areas around Lake Burley Griffin, old & new Parliament House’s, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon, the Carillion, Black Mountain, Mount Ainslie, and areas around Canberra Airport and maybe out around the Kowen Forest if time permits. Have solved most of the CBR Wherigo Puzzle series and numerous other Mystery/Puzzle caches, so will hopefully get to some of those, and will do some of the Adventure Labs, Virtuals, and EarthCaches in the areas we visit. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base.
Today we drove up to Mount Ainslie for the views and the caches, then visited the grounds of the Australian War Memorial for some Adventure Labs and an EarthCache, and then down to the Carillion for yet more caches. Ended the day with a couple of quick finds just a short walk from our accommodation.
Stopped off for a look but failed to find the cache. Nothing was found in amongst the nasty spikey scrub, except for a sleeping possum in the hollow of the big tree, so we gave it up pretty quick and moved on to better prospects. TFTH anyway Tankengine.

Lots of rubbish around a dog poo bags so when we couldn't see it from the edge if the trees decided to let it be
Enjoying a rainy caching day with membsec, wombles, and Teamnanabombana. Thanks for the cache Tankengine
