What a great spot to see this. Quick find a few photos and listening to the siren. On our annual pie run next stop Farina for the bakery. Travelling with Bear&bell
Well my trip up to QOGM started a couple of weeks ago and after taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford and Ilfracombe, The Tritonz and Roaming Howie finally joined me and we did the puzzle trail. Then a fun first muster day to Muttaburra and back then a great tea event and a few more caches.A trip to Stonehenge and back again for them. The second muster day and boy what a busy day as there was a lot going on in the car with everything we had to do.Collect trads, look at photos, find some forks and then some property numbers as well. The Mexicans as we were called teamed up with a couple of other cars The Morris and Pool Pool to have a lot of fun over the radio.Well all the caches have been found and after another great dinner event QOGM has officially finished. This was my first QOGM and I had a great time, but all good things must come to end and today I must start heading towards home but Im also taking the very long way around back to Victoria.Roaming Howie is joining me on this section of the trip and the area is all new to him.So after the history lesson at Innamincka then the trip to Camerons Corner yesterday which involved crossing over 200 or more sand dunes to get there Im heading to Lyndhurst.I have always wanted to do the Strzelecki track and finally the stars have aligned on this trip.Well that is one long fence and I soon got a wake up call when I walked in front of the noise box.Looked in to many places before finding this one. Thanks Freddo TFTC.
A DNF on the way up the Strz - a phone call to Freddo confirmed the cache was missing. So on the way back down we were able to replace it - turned out to be fortuitous as we discovered a tyre going flat just as we arrived at the nearby rest stop. The Tyre Dog monitor paid it's way as Mr matmob was able to repair the tyre without it destroying itself as would have been the case if we hadn't known it was going down, and if we had continued to drive. Stupid tek screws!
If I was a dingo I wouldn't go past here either...... We enjoyed hearing several packs howl when we were camped at Montecollina Bore, and also had the privilege of watching one on top of a dune not too far away as we were having our brekky .

A loud alarm keeps the dingos away.
When you touch this french, you can certainly feel the earth and length and work of the fence.
A nifty hide, thanks for bringing me here
Found on the way to Port Augusta.

We are travelling from Adelaide, visiting Parachilna, Coward Springs, Eringa Waterhole, Mt Dare, Dalhousie Springs, across the Simpson desert to Birdsville, Innaminka, down the Old Strezlecki Track to Lyndhurst, a stopover in Mintaro and home again.
We stopped on the wrong side of the road for this one, so of course I was looking on the wrong side of the fence. I got the fright of my life when I stepped over to the right side haha. The boys in the car got a good laugh anyway!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Find #2523 at 07:59. Grabbed while travelling with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce from QOGM 21 at Cunnamulla, Qld to the Geo Venture 2020 at Millicent, SA. TFTC Freddo
Day three of our trek south to Millicent Mega with Wollaston and Liz & Bruce.
The day started with the final WP of earth cache Gibber - The Plain Story. It’s overcast and spitting, all our fingers are crossed it doesn’t rain while we are on the track. Trad What Keeps the Dogs out was ticked, as was An Extra Naughty Cache, the landscape here is parched and rocky, the track has some short paved sections some with sharp drop edges to watch out for and the corrugations are ever present.
Next caches converted to a smile was trad Suspicious Pile of Rocks and last cache on the Strzeleki Track, Strzeleki Stomp. The road is still unmade sections with corrugations but more paved sections have been completed and other parts under construction. The area is still crispy dry with minimal vegetation and becoming hillier. Only one kangaroo spotted, quite a few that didn’t make it across the road and one tiny bird, tough, isolate, desperately harsh and desolate conditions.
Turning onto the Outback Highway north from Lyndhurst to earth cache Ochre Mine, back to Lyndhurst for a splash of fuel. The highway is alongside the disused coal train tracks and to the east is the impressive Flinders Ranges. Our next trads we’re Tracks to Everywhere, Mine Managers Hut and Telford Cut. All located in good condition, logs signed and returned as found. Still very limited wildlife, but kangaroo is on the menu at the Copley Caravan Park Bakery, so we enjoyed a Roo pie and bush food dessert Quandong Cheesecake all while watching a dust storm whip past the cafe windows.
Our afternoon caches included an invigorating hike to trad Aroona View, and curiously named Watch Out For Roos, next we drove through a dust storm in the rain! Parachilna delivered a trad Home On The Range and earth cache Parachilna Shadows complete with TWO juvenile black banded brown snakes, not hanging around long enough to see any more. Next were trads Road Kill Grill, Pioneers Three, Merna Mora and Phone Home where it was so windy we nearly got blown home. Smileys at trad The Plug, Why Wallerberdina, Toot Toot Hill, into Hawker for a refuel and a tick for trad Boneys Breaking In Horses. Last stop for the day is Cradock.

Found on my way between an overnight campsite at Yelerina Creek on the Strzelecki Track and Innamincka, on a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula. Thanks for the cache Freddo!
A nice noisy find! This would keep me out too! Now I’ve got that ‘tune’ stuck in my head!

Well one thing for sure that's a mighty wide grid. If the fence fails that will stop them. Interestingly a lot of the fence is being renewed in a 25M dollar project.
Thanks to Freddo and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
I decided to take a break from cold Adelaide and head north to warmer climes for a month or so. The (loose) plan is to travel up to Innamincka then into western and central Queensland camping along the way. Where I go and how far north I get will depend on how distracted I get along the way and how hot it gets.
After camping out near Leigh Creek on my first night, I completed a couple of nearby caches before heading further north to Lyndhurst then up the Strzelecki Track towards Innamincka.
It was a bit of a late start as I wasn’t in any rush and I took my time, visiting the caches along the way.
Although I’ve been to Innaminka quite a few times in the past, most of the trips were were work-related, travelling by light aircraft, landing at the slightly ‘hairy’ airstrip adjacent to the town. However I have driven up a couple of times before and couldn’t help notice the vast improvements that have been made to the road, including numerous sealed sections. While it would still be a challenge in parts after rain, it doesn’t look like it will be too long before its an all weather road! Mores the pity I think.
This was a quick find along the way.
Thanks Freddo for the cache.

It was a very windy, dusty day when we stopped in the nearby rest area and battled the wind walking to our find. TNLN. Thanks Freddo.
Found with Traceywithaneee on our way home from Innaminka. Wonder if the fence really does keep the dogs out.
A quick and easy find on our way south down the track, then onwards to places much further aflield.
We've been wanting to drive the Strzelecki Track for a long time so a window of opportunity came up and we were out the gate!! We travelled up the Birdsville Track and down from Innamincka. Had a great time caching and admiring many views of the outback. The only casualty was the windscreen which had a close encounter with a rock on day 3. Got told in Birdsville that it wasn't bad enough to freight another up. Luckily it made it all the way home with the help of duct tape. We found some great views and historical places thanks to geocaching.

So that's what the alarm is for! I heard a similar one as we were crossing a grid on the Muloorina Station and wondered what it was for. So aside from scaring animals trying to tentatively cross the grid they are also meant to scare the bejesus out of unsuspecting cachers! Fortunately we were heading north so I was parked "on the correct side" of the grid to get to the cache without setting the alarm off. Regardless though, after signing the log I decided to set it off just for the heck of it which earned me a stern rebuke from the missus who with eyebrows raised and rolling eyes exclaimed *"Will you **ever** grow up?"* Nup, never!

Stopped on road past grid and had to walk back over grid to cache. Dog warning horn scared the life out of us!! Recovered quickly and then quick find for cache.
We're on a caravan tour heading toward Alice Springs. Why am I here in this dust & heat? It must be my muggle family dragging me out here! Thanks
Tagging along with the "Rats" on holidays has it's advantages, not only do we get to see our cool country but we also get to do a heap of caching as Dad just can't help himself and has to stop at every cache he can.
Heading across Australia on nearly every dirt road possible we stopped and found your cache as part of our adventure and for that, I thank you! Sorry about the log being a "cut n paste" but tthats just because we stopped at so many caches.

The Rats and mini rats found this cache as part of our Purposeful Meander across Oz where we visited every mainland state in 8 weeks.
Apologises for the late log in some cases but we are only just catching up on our logging now that we have arrived back home. Your cache makes up many of the great memories we now have from the adventure. The faceplate style log doesn't detract from the experience we had finding the cache.
Thanks

Great hide and location. The warning horn works well. I need some clean undies now.

On a road trip with Geo/rge to the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs.
We travelled from Moe to Broken Hill to Cameron Corner to Marree to Marla then to Alice Springs.
This was the Cameron Corner To Marree section.
A quick find was made and the log signed.
Another 2TF for us

We had travelled all the way from Brisbane in the hope of getting this FTF. Today we had come from Innamincka along the Old Strzelecki. When we arrived at GZ it was a tense moment. We had been chasing a cacher all day that was biking across Australia and coming down the Old Strzelecki an hour or two in front of us. So our hopes of getting a FTF were low. We looked in one spot for the cache. Nothing. Looked at something that might have been the cache but decided not to touch it. We went to the other side of the fence to look further and there was a load of fresh toilet paper on the ground (gross I know). We were sure someone had just been here. We finally made our find and gingerly opened up the container to find that somehow we were in luck. A clean log book. We were indeed the *FTF*. Wow. We did a big happy dance at this point. Amazing…then we couldn’t help but wonder what happened to the biker. We hadn’t passed him on the side of the road? There were no turnoffs? He hasn't logged the caches we know he did? We hope he is okay....Anyway, this road is an awesome road and we highly recommend anyone who likes a sense of adventure to travel it. TFTC……eatmorchikin from Brisbane. Since here we may as well go to Alice for the Easter caching event LOL.
