So sad to miss this one - I was there for the FTF hunt but it was not to be. Multiple stops since have never revealed the joy and to see this one lost forever means that frown will never be turned upside down. Thanks TAC for the hunt though. RIP little cache.
The bananas concur with the last comment.
Again here on the first night, when there was romance aplenty in the air. The waltz for the intimate couples was a beautiful sight.
But now just a memory. A good one though.
So thank you for one of the better experiences amongst the crowds.
But unlike the kangaroo, the bananas were one of the last achievers here before the landscape changed.
Thank you.

There are new non magnetic seats, so may need to check with the vicar and vestry about the hide. Written from a comfortable seating position!
I found this cache a month ago and have just noticed that I haven't yet logged it. Thanks 'The Addicted Cacher'
Ahhhh seems there was a Christening or something like that. Muggles galore.

Didnt find it today. As we started our search more & more people began appearing so gave up. There are brand new seats here too.
If the bananas were good at this game we would not have spent so much time here.
Just over an hour.
It was particularly memorable though for several reasons.
The first visit as described saw the most wonderful scene of couples dressed to the nines dancing the night away to an unknown country's swinging tunes. All this romance while still hanging onto those bygone days.
And from that moment till now a watchlisting that reminded the bananas of those old handsome men waltzing their lovely partners around the hall while unsuccesfullly treasure hunting.
The trip today being no quicker, did produce the better, though unexpected result.
For some reason these images will last in memory, for also the reason it is a pleasant and gentile place to visit.

First time we were interrupted looking for cache, but we were determined to find it and we did.
12:45, September 12, 2018, #914, out with cliff5009 doing a few in this area. Nice quick find and very quiet in here tiday. Thanks The Addicted Cacher. TFTC.
A quick park and grab here today, and a nice peaceful place to sit and sign the log, no muggles here today, Thanks The Addicted Cacher, all is good with the cache
A quick pick up on the way from basketballs Nice and quite time in a winters rainy day. TFTC
In Kew today to pick up a few things for work and decided to grab just one cache to get my fix while I was in the area. Being a week day I chanced that the area would be quiet and it deserted even managing a park 10 metres from the gz. I set about searching the area and the cache was soon spotted after a minute or two. Used the area to have a seat and log the cache, thanks the Addicted Cacher for the hide. The strange thing is I lived 500m from here many moons ago and never knew about this quaint little church, ah the things you stumble across caching eh?

After returning to the car, this was the third cache on the list. When we arrived at GZ, we found a fencing class in full swing. This meant that there were random muggle invasions as people came and went. We also found that our movements kept triggering the sensor lights.
Feeling super conspicuous, and not wanting to compromise anything we engaged in a retreat.
Thanks anyway The Addicted Cacher. I'll return at some stage to give it another crack.

I'd headed to Melbourne on the 5th May for a weekend stay to see Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
Instead there was a mammoth change in my plans when the Corolla suddenly needed new brakes [xx(] which led to needing new tyres [^] which led to needing a new wheel bearing [xx(]
So a weekend turned into almost 3 full weeks and my HUGE thanks to the very patient and tolerant kmace who not only provided accommodation for myself but also for Rex [:X][:X]
Having your home invaded by a rabid geocacher who gets irritated when they have no car to go and find caches because it is in the workshop [xx(] and a pup who shreds his toys all over the house is not an easy ask for a day or two: let alone 20 odd days! [:X]
Rex also loved the beaches and the seagulls so there were many walks on the beach, some in pouring rain and gusting winds but that's what being a dog owner is about [^]
During this time some fantastic caches were found and some adventures occurred [^]
My thanks to all of the COs for the fun and the finds [^]
15th day of the trip and only 1 DNF accompanied by 11 cache finds as I made my way to a far off cemetery to locate yet another deceased Victorian premier.
No garden here to tread in, thankfully, as long as you stay on the pathways and pavers.
I dodged a few muggles who were locking up and leaving then started looking and that sensor light sure turned night into day
Finally made the find of a different type of container than the ones that are usually found on these hiding spots!

In Melbourne today for some meetings so between them with time to spare I decided to hunt out a cache or two! A weekday meant no one was around. A quick find in between the rain! Many thanks for the cache.

Twenty years... that's how long we'd been campaigning for the link between the Darebin Creek and Yarra Trails to become a reality. And this morning, the ribbon was cut to celebrate the opening of the new bridge over the river.
I missed the party, but decided to mark the occasion in the most appropriate way: riding across to see if I could get a few smileys.
What a wonderful afternoon; beautiful sunshine, almost no wind, and the most peaceful glide into far Kew.
The GPSr gave me a bit of a bum steer here, in the quiet well and truly after services were over. This was probably the perfect time for a search in peace, which was good, as it took me a while to work my way through possibilities, including an earlier cursory check of that, before I was in a position to actually see the cache.
Well done to The Addicted Cacher for this merry dance.

Out with LouJean70, GeoUncle and GeoDaughter today. Earlier we joked about my Gran using churches as waypoints for directions, we giggled when we got here.
A quick find by Lou and we were off again to the next find.

Found with geodad and cousin ASP84 after a few laughs over how some of our family members love their churches. Found this one by feeling before seeing. Thanks for bringing us here
This one took longer than it should have but a lot of other things fitted the hint as well. No-one here today which made the longer search a bit easier. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Having seen a car just pull away, I arrived to a now deserted GZ. Even though there had been some wind, the wind chimes weren't clanging today as I happily located the hide in this peaceful spot
Thanks to The Addicted Cacher for placing this cache.

I was just so lucky to spot this quickly because there was lots of activity in the church hall. Sounded like table tennis was being played. I was so speedy with the signing.
After a dash to collect a FTF on your nearby Harry Potter cache, I continued on to have a look for this one. It was very quiet here today so I could relax and search happily. As it turns out, I found it on my first reach and sat down to add my name to the log. Thanks The Addicted Cacher. What a pretty little church!

I was in the area after finding the COs new cache and headed across here next. With nobody around I was able to look in peace but after a long search, I wasn't able to find the cache.
Thanks The Addicted Cacher, I'll be back for another look.

Found with Listmaker today. There seemed to be two immediate options. She took one and I took the other. She won. Appropriate for another reason too which I will not mention.
And finally, 11 and a half years after find number 1, find number 1000. I never thought it would take this long but life and work keep getting in the way of actual fun. What a relief. Not sure if Alansee let me find it, but find it I did. Cute container, by the way. I haven't seen one of those before. Lovely peaceful spot, too.
Thanks for the cache, The Addicted Cacher.

After dropping samy1991 at her appointment in Kew, +Wife and I meandered towards our home.
This was our first stop and although I almost touched the cache within seconds of beginning our search, we managed to mark hard work of it.
Eventually the caretaker who was mowing the lawn approached and asked if we were geocachers. With a gentle nudge back to where we began, the cache was soon in hand. All in good order here. Thank you for placing this cache for us and others to find.

Been meaning to get here for a while and with so many DNF's due to muggle activity I made sure to come in the evening. Left to my own devices I was able to be less than stealthy and managed to uncover quickly. Thanks to addicted cacher
Have had a few delays with getting this cache ready-should hopefully be up next weekend
Came past and appears to be missing again. Offline until it can be replaced.
Sorry about the wait, I've had a few complications recently. The cache should hopefully be up again in a bit.

Some kind of Chinese event on here today. Not where I was and I could make the find and sign the log quietly in the shade. Tftc
Once the GPS settled down, it was fairly easy find, but must admit I hate nano's getting the log out
signing rolling up and trying to get back in, but this was a nice quiet location, so I could get the cache
back with ease.

Did not find it! Spent a few minutes looking but Muggles kept arriving for what may have been an exercise class in the hall. I will come back another time for a proper search. Anyway TFTC
No luck for me here. Had a good look and certainly not muggled out but just couldn't make the find this time.
I live nearby, and have been meaning to find this cache for quite a while.
Today, on my way home from our weekly walk around the billabong, I stopped by for this quick find. I had to wait for a couple of small children to pass before signing the log. Thanks The Addicted Cacher.

Perfect Melbourne weather today for the Victorian Caching Awards. We met up with Suscoe & Bushfire to squeeze in a few urban caches before the Event. Having found this one back in August '16, P-P was able to chat casually to the working bee participants as a distractor!
Our thanks to The Addicted Cacher for placing this cache.

Suscoe headed to Melbourne today for the Victorian Caching Awards event in the very good company of Bushfire.
We met up with Phetlern plus 1 as well and so our band of 6 wandered the streets and parklands of the inner east on a beautiful day.
Sunshine, clouds, some light drizzle for a moment or two, a cool breeze, more sunshine, great locations and lots of fun with our friends, what more could a caching team ask for.
We arrived to a full street of cars and wondered if there was a Wedding this morning.
It turned out to be a working bee.
Folks doing all sort of things.
Best attended working bee we have seen for a while.
Anyway we started the search and P of Phetlern soon had the sneaky little chap in hand.
How did we miss that last visit we wondered.
Thanks to The Addicted Cacher and thanks to the church for allowing this cache here.

When you go caching with the suscoe cachers you have to be up early and organised because they are always early. Ross is the master of planning and not only has the order of cachers but a map of where we are going and has remembered how to get there as well.
The day dawned, quick breakfast, read the headlines over a quick coffee, pack lunch and of course the Thermos and another small one for the milk. Got to have the milk.
As the day wore on it got quiet warm in the sunshine but we had to attend 2016 Victorian Cache of the Years awards later but a few caches first that were on our must do list.
This would have to be the best turnout at a working bee that I have ever seen, wish we could get some of these folk to come down to the Highton Fire Station for our next working bee.
Thanks to The Addicted Cacher for placing this guy.

First for 2017. Thought my fingers might get all sticky but fortunately not. I think the log might be full, but I don't think it matters. Very cleaver. Thank you!
So I booked my daughter for a class in the hall.. as a diligent geocacher i thought I should check if there was any caches in the area...didnt expect one this convenient though! Gave me something to do while I waited today. Good excuse to be hanging out in the churchyard. But what am I going to do next week?? Thanks for the cache!
We got past the school mums and pulled up outside the church and followed the GPSr. We found ourselves in a pleasant courtyard and a helpful voice told us it was over here. Apparently the last people to look had given up but we persisted and Mrs LZZ had a yucky experience at 15:45. We spent some time rationalizing our behaviour to the voice. TFTC
It is my last day of holidays (not counting the weekend), and having spent a fair bit of time driving since Christmas I decided to grab couple of the local caches that I haven't gotten around to.
At the GZ I had the place to myself and with very accurate coordinates I made the quick find. I have only seen this type of container used once before when I was in North East Arnhem Land. TFTC.

We picked this one up after a long work week. As I approached GZ, I thought "this can't be right", but as I read that the vicar si aware of the cache I went in and searched around. Looking in all the usual spots, I accidentally dislodged it and knew it was the cache immediately. Thanks to The Addicted Cacher. Lovely little spot.
A long loong looong way back I attended Sunday School here, so lots of memories of times past. Once my phone made up its errant mind I made a quick find of this camoed cache. Thanks The Addicted Cacher
Suscoe dropped in here this afternoon and met a parishoner doing a renovation in the timber hall.
What a lovely chap to chat with.
No sign of the cache which he knew of but not where it was.
We will have to return one day to see the completed work in the little hall.
Thanks to The Addicted Cacher, we will return.

With a weekend empty of finds it was a must to get out a grab one today, the compass once again jumped all over the place, so rather than waiting for it to settle I just started looking and soon my hands found the cache. Thanks for the cache here, now to battle the traffic home , or maybe just one more cache...
I ended up spotting this cache quickly - which was good, as we didn't feel very comfortable here. Here in the company of GJMMelb and quiet1_au. TFTC
Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. Although there was no-one in the grounds we felt a bit conspicuous here with people inside. We searched around and Q soon found the cache in an expected location. Thanks The Addicted Cacher.

GZ turned out to be further in than we had expected - although I now see the "front yard" attribute - so despite the place being deserted (apart from a couple of fencers sparring in one of the buildings) we felt a little conspicous. Luckily after G' of GJMMelb, lochb and I started searching, lochb quickly pinpointed the correct spot and found the cache so we could move along quickly! TFTC
Out for a quick bike ride this afternoon I stopped by this one. Totally deserted area on a Saturday afternoon which I was very glad about so after a quick search I soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks The Addicted Cacher for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Dropped by here for a look while on the way to work this morning to open the account for the new month. A very pleasant spot, which had me worried for a few moments, but the spot-on coordinates soon had me with the stash in hand at 08:40. Phew.

On my way home from work and plenty of light it was just the right time for this one. A bit worried going into occupied space. There was marshal arts going on in there. GPS settled down nicely and it led me away from the windows. Nice easy find but had to back to car to get something to removed that log book. Thanks for the cache The Addicted Cacher
What a blast from the past, as a kiddy winky I used to attend Sunday School at this very location. Long time ago might I say. TFTC.
Found with ICW, but I had trouble concentrating as strains of a Bach fugue wafted from the church. But back to business and swiftly signed the log and replaced the fun cache. Tftc.

Some cachers are gifted with astute vision and can see a hide quickly from distance. Others have incredible geo-sense which intuitively makes the difficult seem easy. Others still, have developed highly refined systems of searching and use this methodology to produce outstanding results.
I have none of these...
Word of a new listing came through at a more civilised hour tonight. So Mrs Welder and 1Dgirl joined me on this particular hunt. We got to The Church in good time, just after 10pm. Stepping out of the car, it was a lovely, warm evening Under The Milky Way Tonight. But there was a problem... as mentioned in the cache descriptor, a large function was in full swing in the hall adjoining GZ. The songs of Italian crooners from a bygone age were being blasted down the street. The guests were dressed up formal evening wear and twirling around the makeshift ballroom. To make things even more challenging, there were a few men hanging about in the courtyard we needed to search.
We considered a brazen approach, but I decided it would be too hard to blend in wearing shorts and waving a torch! Little did I know, that a certain Kanga and a Banana were already doing just that!!
Our little group decided to play for time and wait for the party to wrap up. It was a Sunday night, it can't be too much longer... So we went off and did our grocery shopping nearby. We returned at 11pm to find the music still blaring down the street, the dancers still twirling, and the courtyard still occupied. I could almost sense the call of the blank logbook. It was tempting... alluring...
"I'm Almost With You", I thought. But not yet...
Still playing for time, I took the girls home, unpacked the shopping and considered giving up on the cache. But my particular geo-power is perseverance!
I drove back to The Church at 1am. All was quiet - finally! I was able to approach GZ in An Unguarded Moment. I searched for half an hour to no avail. Oh, there's a clue! How did I not notice that?! I refocused my efforts, and still nothing turned up. I expanded the range without result. I was about to call it a night when perseverance kicked in again. A new idea came to mind. And there it was! It turns out my GPS was having a good old laugh at my expense. But I got it in the end.
I didn't have astute vision. Neither did intuition nor methodology aid my cause. This was simply another win for perseverance!
A big thanks to The Addicted Cacher! This was a fun hunt and a neat hide.
I was feeling exhausted by the time I got back to the car, but not nearly as 'exhausted' as the car I'd parked behind - it's amazing what you can do with a bit of blue and white string!!

I thought about having a look for this cache last night when I heard my phone ping and noticed it was only a few kms from home and across the road from where I lived several years ago. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that after a long and hectic day I couldn't be bothered. I'm obviously not as addicted as some cachers! In retrospect, maybe I should have gone for the FTF as it looks like I would have had a lot of dancing partners.
Anyway, I dropped by this cache this afternoon on my way home from a medical appointment close by. It was easy to get a parking spot and there was not a muggle in sight at GZ so I was free to search. The updated co-ords hadn't been published then so I searched several possible hiding spots without success. I thought my GPSr could have been misbehaving as it sometimes does when GZ is surrounded by buildings and the sky is overcast so I expanded my search. I soon found the cute cache about 6 to 7 metres from the given co-ords in a typical hiding spot and signed the log at 3:50 pm, for my 32nd STF. TNLN.
Thanks The Addicted Cacher for a really good hide. It was such a serene location with lovely gardens and a shady place to relax in today's extreme heat so I sat for a while before heading home.
I thought about having a look for this cache last night when I heard my phone ping and noticed it was only a few kms from home and across the road from where I lived several years ago. In retrospect, maybe I should have gone for the FTF as it looks like I would have had a lot of dancing partners.

The bananas know a new language.
We speak it fluently.
We sing it.
We even dance to it.
But we don't know what it is.
When we arrived the dance was in full swing. Beautifully dressed women dancing with their elderly partners, to the tunes of the old country. It was a big occasion for them.
The emotion was so great we even offered to dance with the kangaroo for an Australian interpretation.
We danced and swayed well into the evening. Dancing under a variation of stars and security lights.
But amongst all this romance of the good old days there was no consumation with the new treasure.
Perhaps another time?
Perhaps at the next dance?

Arriving at the building was OK. Parking was not, but some how I managed to slip my vehicle between two others without sustaining damage to any.
There was but one concern - the party was in full swing. I was not going to get close without being seen. But seen by whom was the question.
But as I was standing, thinking how I could approach with sufficient stealth at such a time, I was approached by a tallish, yet devilishly handsome man. It was a Banana. Must have been a trick of the light...
A cautious step forward had us bathed in brightness yet we did not seem to arouse the suspicions of the partygoers adjacent. The music kept playing and the dancers kept swinging.
As often occurs, stealth can be achieved not so much by sneaking, but instead by bold indifference.
We became boldly indifferent and even when approached by a reveller, we announced our task as "getting fresh air". He nodded and moved on.
But our search proved fruitless as the revelling continued and with Strawberry Ice-cream beckoning, the banana smoothly slipped away and I joined him in so doing.
Not for us tonight, but no doubt again soon.
