Ive been here before, did t know there was a lens still in the wreck Tftc. I was spotted by some keen photographers.
A interesting relic here. Wonder how it got here? After finding another cache nearby, a short wander was conducted to GZ where an intriguing artifact was uncovered before quickly locating the cache.Interestingly there seems to be two caches present here with the exact same container (enhanced by the fact that the container isn't particularly common!), so clearly a replacement was misplaced previously lol.Picked the right container with the logbook in it and signed and replaced. Thanks for placing this cache Aykayem!
Today was the day I took Doobiedoo around for her first Geocaching adventure. Id spoken enough about geocaching at work I finally convinced someone to give it a go. It was great to collect some myself along the way, especially up here at Stromlo observatory as I hadnt come up here previously. A great cache takes people to interesting locations! There was actually two containers in here, initially I thought there was no log book but on the second look there was a second container with a logbook. Thank you Aykayem!
I came up here for an ACT Rock painting event, and of course, I went looking for some caches. Bring extra layers, especially in the winter. There was a stunning sunset!Great for my mindfulnessFound 13 July 2024
TFTCfound today on the heritage walk at mt stromlo w fruitsushi n our 2 hs muggle friends
A couple of days out exploring this wonderful area, time to get our find on and this was a lovely simple first find for us today so thanks
Found 2 caches here But only 1 logbook, so technically only 1 official geocache We tried to convince our nephew that we should leave a toy behind, and he agreed. But once he saw the toy he decided it was his to keep Oh well.. we tried Thanks for the cache!
TFTC ?? out for the day to waste a few hrs & burn some energy off the geo.babies ????
Now chasing caches around Canberra for the Easter 2024 Geobash, signing as TAD which encompasses Tenkae, Astro and Deanside. Enjoying great company and the different aspects of our Commonwealth Capital. Nice piece of wreckage! Thanks Aykayem for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
For a conference, TaurusSix and I have return to Canberra for a longish weekend. On my agenda today was geocaching with many and varied caches requiring finding.I had started few adlabs over the time we have been here, it was time to finish one or more of them. This is what drew me to Mt Stromlo. While here is noticed a few other caches and went searching for them while here. The loss of the telescopes on the 2003 fires was something to be mournful of. Id come up here a few times at night while on college and visited astronomers using the large telescope. The memories remain. I walked to this art piece, that I had no inkling was here. I walked on the moon for a moment before turning my attention to other caches. On the way back I stopped for this cache. Here was something else interesting too. The cache was found in the first place I looked - it happens every now and again. Getting it out was a little trickier, I needed a stick to help achieve that end. The log I duly marked as required before putting everything back as I had found it. This was my last geocache on the hill, but not the last to be found.I send thanks to Aykayem for hiding this cache and adding to my adventures geocaching.
Always love this place, incredible views and reminder of what humans are capable of TFTC ?
We were drawn to the wreckage without even looking at the map, and then what do you know - we found two containers! Slightly confused about the 2 logs, but we just signed then both anyway.Such an interesting site - thanks for placing and maintaining this cache!
out with the geokiddies and their grandparents parents on a gorgeous spring day. nice, geokid friendly hide, both containers are still there.
#4194 Enjoying a quiet afternoon and visiting waypoints of an AL I was about 50 metres beyond this when I realised so I headed back and came up with a quick find. Thanks AKM.
Catching up with late logsWe joined forces with Alansee, maccamob, McLookers, micaparamedic, moonb1, Muzza, Pprass and Rabbito to try our luck at a few Adventure Labs and any thing else that was close by.We were doing the nearby power trail and we weren't going to leave any nearby caches that weren't involved in it. We really enjoyed the break from the slog of doing these caches. Most of these were found very quickly which helps when you have this many eyes looking and our name has been added to each log.We apologies for the generic log but it was quite awhile back and we did so many on that trip that our old brains can't remember them individually. To save room in the log we signed as Vic1Thanks for the cache.
Found with Moonb1, McLookers, Maccamob, Muzza, Pprass, Team Crackers, Rabbitto et al on a day caching in the Canberra Area.
We found this cache on Day 2 of our Vic1 Canberra Run in company of Muzza, McLookers, Micaparamedic, Alansee, Moonb1, Maccamob, Team Crackers and Pprass. Today was our Uriarra and Cotter Loop. Thanks from D B-A

Thanks for the cache.
Found at 1:53 PM in the company of the Vic 1 team
Alansee worked out a route for us to do today which included some very challenging AL's and we ended up at an event where the locals were to meet us! A big day that showed the beauty of the ACT and surrounds after the fog finally lifted! Most of the caches were way under rated though - nearly all of them were just a D/T of 1.5/1.5 no matter how hard they were to get to or find them - not very imaginitive in that sense.
Thanks to Aykayem

Out caching again with the geo-nephews and this was the first one we reeled in on a glorious winter’s day atop Stromlo!
Found the first cache and then found its younger (older) sibling which was very exciting for the boys. The walking on the moon sculpture is pretty cool too, by the way. Thanks for the cache!
