Today I walked in with a school group and decided to make a quick search while we had time at the beach. Dont take long to find this one, a beautiful new replacement today.
I have lots of fond memories of Anchorage over many years but I hadn't been here for ages - - until today. We had visitors and just had to bring them "down the bay" for the day. The cache was in a rather sorry state but I replaced the container, log and writing implement in the hope that people can continue to enjoy this cache for many years to come. Thanks for the hide.Note: spoilers attached.
Visited with Dali87 within our famous travel around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ..........................................................................................................................:) :) TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M :) :)
Found it at a beautiful place! The cache was pretty wet and is in need of a new log/paper etc.
Beautiful hike! We found the cache today but the log was too wet to sign. Needs a new log!
Beautiful walk around the area. Found this on the hike to anchorage Bay. Log is very wet so if someone is heading to collect this it'd be helpful to bring a baggie and paper.
I thought that there was a cache close by. So I searched in my bag for my gps. But my wife sad there he is!There was a lot of water inside the cache. I write down my name on the paper but it was to wet.I also dropt a tb
During my walk on the coastal track I visited this cache good find! Thanks for the contribution to the game by the placement and care of the cache. TFTC

I was in quite a hurry, the pen inside the cache didn't work because it was wet, I tried to take a photo but my phone wouldn't work. Had to run back to catch my water taxi. Waterproof bags are needed to contain the pen and the paper. The paper was water damaged even though it was waterproof paper.
We decided to water taxi to Anchorage and walk back to Mrahau. We also decided to head to Cleopatras pool so this was en route. Took a bit of finding but we did it. TFTC
Was walking down to Anchorage Bay after almost 15km hike from bark bay, when I s ppl otted this on the side of the track I wasn't even geo caching as I forgot to down load maps as I'd have no reception. What a lucky surprise.Log is very wet, couldn't replace as I have no paper.
Found it but there is only wet paper and water in the box. Thanks for the cache. Beach and rocks around are wonderfull

#5.684Before heading back we quickly discovered this cache. However there was no logbook in the cache.TFTC says team mastba from Hamburg/Germany
Found this fellow on the Abel Tasman Great Walk. We had an absolute blast and had clear weather for nearly the whole trip. There is no logbook in here and the container is starting to take in some water, so a replacement would be dandy!
Durch Zufall bin ich heute nach einer tollen Wanderung von Bark Bay nach Anchorage über diese Dose gestolpert. Leider war kein Logbuch und viel Wasser in der Dose. Daher folgt ein Fotolog.
Found this one by accident while hiking the Abel Tasman Costal Track! There was no log book anymore, and unfortunately I did not have anything with to replace it. TFTC.
Day walk from Marahau. This was the first cache of the day. As others have said the log book was mush and the container full of water. Removed mushed log book for disposal at home. Dried container and other contents as best as I could. Added new replacement ' write in the rain' log inside a pill bottle. This should last for a bit. Re-hid as found with a small amount of dried punga fronds as extra camo.

After the water taxi dropped us off, we headed over to get this cache. The container was easily spotted since it was not covered well. The log was TWTS due to the ice cream container allowing water to pour in easily. TFTC.
Beautiful Abel Tasman!!
The cache was pretty wet and we could not sign it. But TFTC!

Quick find on our hike in the national park. The log was awfully wet back then, tried to get rid of the excessive water.

This hasn't happened to us before: we found it without even looking for it! However, it was completely wet.
Found this cache but couldn’t log due to a wet log. Please replace soon.

*#9752Back in Germany I now want to log my finds in this beautiful country. Thanks to the owners for their work and care. With some cases, of course, also a favorite point remains. The logbook is wet.TFTC*
Had a lovely day trip walking from Medlands Beach to Anchorage Bay, via high tide track, and by chance found this cache. Totally wet so couldn't sign, but happy to upload photo of cache if required. Wish we had more time to see more of Abel Tasman - it's a beautiful place.
Found it together with Majline. We had a nice swim at the beach and then we took a walk along the shore to find this cache. It was a quick find but as others have noted before it was to wet to sign. I provide a foto of the wet logbook. Tftc
We timed our hike perfectly to reach the Torrent Bay crossing exactly at low tide at 3:37 pm. While others in the group were still changing shoes, jup and I went ahead and found this cache. The cache was too wet to sign.
Cache Nummer 23 in Neuseeland! Die Box ist leider völlig durchnässt, es sammelt sich sogar schon Wasser darin. Cache sollte dringend gewartet werden.
Found after looking in the wrong place for quite a while. Look on the other side. TFTC
Found it. The cache is still hidden but waterlogged. bring paper to write ur name on
Today we had a very rainy walk from Maddys Beach to Anchorage. In Anchorage we were completely wet but we were happy again as we find this big box.

I missed this one when we walked past, probably too busy enjoying the beach
But as it was only a short distance from Anchorage hut, I walked back to get this one as well.
Went all the way up again - not that it's long, but realised it wasn't needed when I eventually found it.

For this time of the year we good very lucky with the weather walking the track. We spend 3 nights in hut and 2 nights we had the whole place for ourselves. Found some geoaches on the way. TFTC
After landing from the boat we started our walk. We looked for this cache but couldn't find anything. There was a landslip and recent tree cuts by gz. Probably needs checking to maybe relocate a bit further in a more sheltered area. Thanks, we had a great day in the park.
Found it!…. But not where we think it should be, it was found just out in the open right by the track and waterlogged. Hence why we were also were unable to log the cache. I think it will need a check up and maybe a new hiding spot and dry log paper.
Found easily, cache full of water. Impossible to write on log.
Needs a new container

First and only cache find since leaving Awaroa. The cache was floating with water and couldn't be dried so have left a replacement log but the container won't protect it for long. TFTC ProjectJanszoon.
Quick find on a nice day. Log book is wet and didn't have a spare. Hid cache about better
I had been planning this trip through the Abel Tasman for a long time now. I had finally done the whole thing with an awesome crew of people to go with. Stunning weather for the 3 day journey from Totaranui to Marahau. Enjoyed every bit of it, even though I have ventured much of the park before. Yay. A good find. The container was very wet but the logbook inside the bag was OK. Find #713
This was my ninth find on the 5 day Abel Tasman walk. It was a fairly quick find after I waited for some muggles to pass. Just as I was replacing it the DOC ranger caught us up and told us a short cut, bonus! TFTC!
This was a quick find, it was a little in the open and log was damp, put in new log into small container inside and covered with natural camo. Thanks Projectjanszoon and Motueka High School, love your work with all the trapping and enjoyed the birdlife.
Day 2 of our Abel Tasman experience. A long walk from Anchorage, to Awaroa, with the tide wrong at Torrent Bay. Found this as we started off in the morning. Cache is very damp.
Walked past on the way to Cleopatras pool and decided to find it on the way back and that’s exactly what we did. Nice easy find, the last log really helped. Tftc
Persevering, this took a wee while, from below but near the track rhs as going up, not left side.
It's school camp time and I am following, or leading the kids along half of the coastal track. I started here at Marahau on a Monday lunchtime, walked to Anchorage for the first night, Onetahuti for the second night, back to Anchorage for the third and the out to Marahua on Thursday morning and down to Motueka for a shower on the last night. All up, 78 km of walking on the track, popping down to most of the bays and sidetracks along the way, 11 hours moving and 8 hours 45 minutes stopped for eating, resting and cache searching. Day 2, had breakfast, on with the walking. I mistakenly took the long way to this one from Anchorage by heading up the hill, along and then down, instead of the short way along the beach. Oh well, another 4km for the boots. Took a few minutes here but no big dramas. Now off to Onetahuti.
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find????SL tm/ww NZ (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)Long drive / walk around today, we enjoyed the caches.*We soon had another good cache located!*
No luck here, but the howling wind and rain didn't really encourage a lengthy search either. Cheers
Stayed at Anchorage campground for the night. A stunning spot. It took a while to find the cache. TFTC
Great part of the world, I am actually liking that the Covid shutdown is getting kiwis out and about seeing their country. For me, I have never been here, and a half price boat trip tempted us in. Fantastic day. Quick find, but these containers are really bad for letting water in, so we had to tip water out of almost all the ones we found. Still, TFTC ProjectJanszoon.
Another great weekend in the Nelson area visiting RG1972. We packed a fair bit in - a tramp in the Abel Tasman N.P, a trip to Richmond craft market, a challenging 10k run with a sting in the tail, and we made some face masks for our trip up north next week. In between some good cooking and some donuts from Motueka’s finest - and a few caches on the way. But caching was a definite backseat this weekend. Still, a small handful found, and plans made to get more in the N.P. Thanks all COs.

A wonderful day planned in the Abel Tasman & we started in Kaiteri . It included a boat trip into Medlands Beach near Bark Bay, a hike to Anchorage & then the boat back to Kaiteri. A few cool stops on the way at Split Apple Rock, seal colony & migrating birds chilling on the open waters.

Wet and soggy. We had to write further in the book. Was exposed so covered again. Beautiful place to visit.
On a road trip south, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

Took the wrong tracks to try this one and thought we should give up. Then we left to go down to the beach and the gps counted down for an easy find once we were there.
