nice walk up the hill from the gate to get this cache ,nice view across the valley and the gas site down the bottom of the hill.
stopped and walked up the track to get this geocache with grandad on a country geocaching trip today
Teamed up with Cats&Dragons, for an overnight mission down the West Coast focusing in and around Hawera. It's been awhile since we've done a trip like this and it was great to be out finding caches again. We left Hamilton at 7pm Friday night and returned midnight Saturday, with only a few hours of sleep needed we managed 116 finds for the trip. A big thanks to all the cache owners for their placements.
Found the cache but there is no way to sign the log book without damaging the tree. Took photo evidence of the find.

Found but so wedged in I cant get it out to sign log. Pity. Nice drive out here. Great day
Unfortunately the tree has grown around this cache so unable to sign, amazing country side though
Out for a tour with the family to grab some backcountry caches. Found quickly...took a while to get it. Tftc
Out driving trucks today and just one road away so took a wrong turn
Had all my wet weather gear on but still a bit of a walk from where I parked the truck and very slippery under foot but all good
Thanks

Nice to visit this area again and soon had the cache found.
Was pretty tough to get out from its hiding place but a nearby stick helped.

I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
This cache get me one step closer by giving me a dot that I do not have on my
Difficulty / Terrain matrix after getting this cache I only now need three more dots on the Matrix to get a Ruby badge and I have those three line up, I have a choice of two in New Plymouth one in Feilding and one in Kapiti which I plan to get soon
Manage to spot the cache from a distance now all I had to do was get to it after I had worked out the easiest way to get to the cache I put my plan motion and soon had the cache in hand sighed the log replace the cache back to where it belonged and return to the car
Thanks for the cache

I looked at the ratings for this one and approached with some trepidation.... however, I spotted it quickly (phew!) and my approach route proved the best option (there has to be a first time for everything). Glad to sign this one, and another welcome addition to my DGSC 2.5+Challenge total. TFTC
Well I think I will have to give up on this, it's just a bit too steep for my liking. Unless I can con a minion to retrieve it for me.... container still looks like it's in good condition and reachable for those that don't have an over whelming fear of heights.
Found on a nice day mm drive out in the countryside with ozlad and mum. Tftc!
Second day of my long weekend in New Plymouth, or more technically Taranaki.
Today I decided to forgo numbers to do something that I have always wanted to do, albeit I wanted to do it on a motorbike, but a car is second choice - drive the Forgotten World Highway to Whangamomona. So I set off nice and early.
Heading back to New Plymouth albeit the long way now. Parked pretty close to the cache and contemplated the short route to it before common sense took over. Quickly found the container however it took some time to convince the host to loosen its grip. Tft

Plans were for a trip to the Manawatu this weekend, but both KrystalKath and I have the 'dreaded lurgy' so not up to it. A day trip to Stratford's Percy Thompson gallery is the plan, with a cache or four along the way. I had previously got Kahili TreMichLan's cache in the same spot so an easy find for me, although a bit out of the way. Really difficult to remove the cache from its nest, but log signed. TFTC
With the sound of the top dressing plane buzzing over head we attacked this cache thank BB mission accomplished
Felt a bit threatened by the cache name, but, hey, nothing venture, nothing gain.... located cache after a scramble, while keeping a wary eye out for stray planes. Nice day for an outing. TFTC, Blenheim Bear, for resurrecting it.
Luckily the airfield was higher up as a topdressing plane landed while we were at the cache. Many thanks BB.
On my way to New Plymouth and thought i'd detour up to the chemical weapons factory. In doing so i also targeted the other realitively nearby caches so cheers for that.
Another successful find on such a nice day.

Heading out to Tarata to grab some caches and came across this airstrip. A quick scramble and we soon had cache in hand. TFTC
A dry day made access to GZ quite easy, it would be quite different in the wet.Found log easily then made up a new log with water proof paper. Didn't transfer any names on to it. Hope this saves you a trip Blenheim Bear. SL TFTC
The local beef around here looked a little intimidating but we scuttled past, scrambled up the hill and found and signed the cache. Took a little time to climb the hill and enjoy the view. TFTC.
Not a did not find more of a did not attmept , I could see the container I think but even though I have some some silly things when geocaching - taking a tumble in the middle of nowhere when no one knows where i am the day before xmas isnt going to be one if them. Well done anyone who gets this cache!
I had done this cache before in its previous incarnation, but do you think I could remember where to go? I ended up taking the wrong turn and going 20 kilometres down a wrong road. Gave up and did it another day.
I stopped by after work as it was relatively close, and walked up a hill, my memory jogging faster than I did. I didn't have my GPSr and there was no phone coverage for my mobile so I had to rely on retracing my steps from a couple of years ago.
The log book was soaking wet so I didn't risk trying to unroll it and signed the back of the stash note instead.
Thanks for reviving this cache.

Will replace log with new dry one over Christmas, in the meantime please write on the back of the waterproof stash card and I will transcribe. BB

got to GZ found cache but a log book to wet to write on and full of names, was a nice little drive out the back roads of inglewood, wish the weather was nicer, TFTC did fill out name and date on a peace of water proof paper that was in the cache
