Three people searched for 30 minutes. We had a wide search area due to previous logs.
Despite a 30+ minute search of both sides of the roadway (using the coordinates and previous logs AND including seeing used toilet paper down the bank) we could not find the cache.
I have contacted the CO as Rowan District has special meaning and I was looking forward to finding and logging it.
?
Jude_E, NosyNel and I are continuing on our figure of 8 tour of the North Island collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time. TFTC.

Ethness, Nosynel and I are on a caching adventure. Our goal is to find all the TMGT caches in a big figure 8 across the centre of the North Island. We are travelling around the mountain today. This should be straightforward but doesn't appear to be. The coordinates very much need updating. And the hint shows how far out the coordinates must be. Not found drspite 3 lots of eyes and a long time spent.
This area is a neat area for a cache. This cache needs archiving/ coordinates need to be corrected as it is a huge waste of time
Despite a 30+ minute search of both sides of the roadway (using the coordinates and previous logs AND including seeing used toilet paper down the bank) we could not find the cache. Would the CO please visit the site and check the cache is where it was originally placed and update the coordinates.

Found it while in Taranaki for Waitangi long weekend. Landed opposite the actual hide. Hint help change to change my location. TFTC
This elusive one took some hunting down but finally got him sorted with help of hint. Cheers
Day 6- Thursday 19 December. Hawera to Okato and back the inland route. Then back to pick up Zara and head to New Plymouth.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

The tree mentioned in the hint is a fuchsia tree - New Zealand has the largest fuchsias in the world. Try the berries - delicious. Alas none today. Lucky for the hint, too, we spent quite some time hunting for the cache before resorting to the hint. Turns out the coordinates are an incredibly crappy 30m out (others have alluded to this too), one of the worst examples I have ever seen. And just to match - I forgot to get a better set
What's with the one foundation stone off to the side? Someone did not want to be included? Interesting way to do a monument, thanks for showing it to us.
Day six of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is Manaia to the cape lighthouse along the coast and back to Hawera via the inland route - it's a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* 3 notebooks full of cache notes for later logging
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Had to scramble about in the wet bushes for a bit, but easily spotted once I found the right tree
Heading out in the company of HKCB for a quick 24 hours down to Taranaki collecting caches around the mountain to try to tidy up the area.
We departed Hamilton at 7pm Friday and made it back home 7pm on Saturday with a haul of 70 caches and 820kms traveled. A great drive through the night, clear sky's and a fantastic day on Saturday to view the mountain in all its glory, a calm sea along the coast. Together these factors made the trip memorable as we could not have asked for better conditions to cache in.
A big thank you to all the CO's whom have placed these caches for us and continued their maintenance.
Continuing our journey around the mountain it was time to get moving and make up some distance between all those caches. Very nice monument to a place in time
Thank you for the placement, thank you for the cache.

In the company of Cats&Dragons for a quick 24 hour blast around Mt Taranaki, with the aim to tidy up as much of the area as possible. Leaving 7pm Friday night and returning 7pm Saturday we managed the loop and found about 70 caches along the way, with a couple of hours sleep thrown in as well. The weather also played its part with fantastic vistas throughout the day of the mountain.
With some well hidden and maintain caches found throughout the day a big thanks must go to all the CO's for the placements. Having cleared out most of Strafford it was time to head further a field and head around the mountain. A successful find, thanks ofr the placement. The coords were a bit out, but worked out here it was hiddened.

I found this geocache while leading a group of young men who had chosen to go Geocaching for their end of year school camp. We left Hamilton on Tuesday 4th December and drove to Taranaki after plenty of stops along the way where we stayed and returned on Friday 7th. We went for quality over quantity finds and either went for highly favorited caches (many of which I had already visited on previous trips), caches from trusted CO’s and geocaches in interesting locations. The boys had a really positive geocaching experience despite the less than ideal weather and I hope they decide to keep up with their new hobby over the holidays and beyond. A big thank you to those who placed the geocaches we found and for maintaining them.
A quick park and grab for us as we headed back towards the surf highway after visiting Dawsons falls. TFTC.

Day 5 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. Back to Wanganui from Taranaki today.
A quick find here by following the hint not the GPS. On my map the cache is showing to be on the opposite side of the road from the stone. Have attached a screen shot of my averaged coords which may be useful. When in doubt follow the hint. Long arms did the trick for me.
Don't think I've seen a commemorative stone where parts of a previous building have been incorporated into the surroundings.
Thanks for the smilie shellbellz.

Took us a long time here as co-ords were so far out. Thank goodness for a very descriptive hint
Interesting location and history, with the co-ords being out by 30 meters you are not able to find it with GPS but have to use hint which is not acceptable.
Needs to be updated with correct co-ordinates.

Found after school with Mum, stood on a branch of blackberries and bled all the way home. Should of met CO here to do a drop of GG biscuits. TFTC
Went looking for this one a few days ago, and had to give up with too many folks driving by.
Returned and found straight away. Thanks!

Searched for ages, with no find, ARGH!!! The hint needs to be user friendly, or obviously I am a bit thick.
The hint was sufficient for me to nail this one quickly. I always enjoy a cache that points me towards a bit of history. TFTC
From the overnight stay on the parking near Dawsons Falls we went for a visit to Opukane and on the way with went for some caches.
This one was found fast although point zero was not really near.

We pulled up here and parked very carefully, not wanting to get stuck on the grass in the wet conditions.
For some reason the GPS wanted us to go in a completely different direction from GZ. We ditched that and just went with the clue, which more or less led us to the cache, although it was a little higher than suggested, so we didn't spot it straight away. I think the GPS was about 25mts out.
We left an alphabet stone - the letter J
Thanks for putting this here shellbellz

In the area visiting and braved the chilly wind to grab this on the way home. TFTC.
Time to head back to Feilding after a great weekend in Taranaki. I'll have some time to do a little bit of caching on the way, but I don't want to go mad, as I want to get back to Feilding in daylight.
For some reason my phone GPS wasn't playing ball with this one and I had the coordinates well off pointing at another corner. Obviously nothing to search under there so I had to employ the geo-sense and the cache was soon in my hand. Swapped trackables.

Headed west for a day of geocaching, filling in some gaps in the geocaching map. Parked up nearby and took in the history of the spot then wet looking for the cache. The clue was sufficient to put me onto the cache. Signed and left as found - thanks for placement shellbellz.
A familiar area after spending many times trying to find another cache a few years ago on Rowan Road. Gps put me 20m away but it was obvious this wasn't the place to look. The hint soon had me in the right place. Took a while to grab as marshalls for the RM road race were across the intersection. tftc
Quick stop and grab on way to appointment. Have seen this place before. Great spot.
Another summer visit to locate the unfound caches and turn them into smilies. Great views of the area from GZ TFTC.
Small detour on the way home from a couple of days away. Yes coords a bit out. Try S 39° 23.824 E 174° 06.702 as averaged by GPSr. Dropped off TB. TFTC
We started our travels a couple of days ago started in Wanganui then headed to Stratford for the night decided to go this way get a few caches this Morning saw this was a new one it was a quick find good clue. Humm on a Ftf mission but beaten by JB today, well done. Met 2 bulbars at GZ funny how you meet up. Joint STF and Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap. Thanks for the cache from Blenheim Bear!
This cache posted with CacheSense for Android.
ps I made the co-ords about 30m out by smart phone, be interesting to see what others make of it?

After noticing a new challenge cache requiring a full caching year I thought it a good idea to start filling in the many blank spots in our grid, and today was one of them. I scouted around for a nice easy nearby one and this fitted the needs of the day, so I jumped into the car and pretended I was taking it out to put gas in it.
A high speed tailgater prevented me from pulling over at ground zero and I had to go a fair way up the road until I was able to reverse my direction, but once at the cache site it was an easy find. My GPSr put the coordinates about 30 metres away, but the hint was a good one.
I had been out to this spot when it was the starting point for a now archived multi, and it was nice repeating the trip. Thanks for the cache.
