Logs
Found it. Cool location and my motivation for the walk today. Log is damp and silca sachet needs replacing.
We walked past this one on the way to the next as we knew we'd be walking back past this one - what a beautiful place for a cache - would have liked to stay longer but were worried the gate would be locked as we had pushed it close to 6pm. Thanks for the reason to come here - we loved it!
Nice little detour off the main circuit .The hint item was clear enough ( and others comments ) but had a good look with no luck or wasnt it a good look??? Thanks regardless!
Taking a bit of an Easter break in the area. I really enjoyed the walk down the river path and up to GZ. The cascading waterfalls is a great spot for a cache. Thanks, a FP for the great location.

My GPS was 28 meters off, but it was a nice easy find with common sense & the hint. Great to revisit one of my favourite areas. TFTC!!
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Nice little cascade. Was hoping for a bit more action with the rain. Never mind.
Easy find while tramping the Mangaokewa track, good day for tramping not to
hot and no light showers as foretasted, after heading up to the cascade and
the GPS settled down found the pancakes, cache in good condition..

Enjoying out walking again to this wonderful waterfall. This one is snagged and tagged. Now onwards up the track.
Day 16 - Saturday 28 December. Awakino to Taumaranui today. So lets go!!
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Nice enjoyable walk in the bush, hiding from the sun.The tracks and river are not marked on the map, will have to do something about that. Alas I am off on another big trip shortly, so updating the maps might be a month away.
Day sixteen of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is New Plymouth to Taumaranui - yep, it's a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

We continue our trip north, which means that the end of the holidays is approaching.
But before, a short break to visit the waterfalls and this strange climbing wall.

Thanks iammrwalker for the geocache [^]

what a great sight when I got to GZ I stopped and looked at the hint then thought this is it and yes it was there
Away for a week of adventure leaving home in the rain and a strong southerly wind but as we advanced and the days ticked by the weather improved. Our main aim was to cycle the timber trail then blob out for a day then head north to Waitomo and return via Te kuiti and head south
on SH 3 getting caches along the way and in some cases taking alternative routes around around the Awakino gorge before geting back to NP then home
Thanks to all for placing these geocaches

GPS was well off when we arrived. Must be the trees. Quickly found and signed. This is such a beautiful forest I'm so glad we made the walk from our camper. Thanks for the cache.
What an amazing reserve - beautiful in summer but I bet it’s damp and cold in winter! We walked up too far and made this one much harder than it needed to be for a terrain eating of 2! Was good exercise though and we enjoyed this cache very much. A favourite from me, TFTC
It's not often we have time to divert from the main roads, so the cool walk and pretty cascades were very welcome. Cache was exactly where it should be, too. Thanks, Mr Walker and team.TFTC
Good to get out of the heat for a neat stroll along the river side thanks mr walker The cache was there and not a phantom signed and made our way back thank you and the team Glad to see you came down to play in the naki a while ago TFTC
Lovely spot for relaxing at the parking area. We enjoyed the stroll to the cascades and once the gps had settled we soon located the cache nestled in a good and handy spot. Tftc

A waterfall is magical no matter how big or small it is. I have found 3 today with this being the last and it is very different from the other 2 I have seen.
Nice peaceful walk to find this cache.

Always wanted to do this walk but usually in a hurry going south. Time to stop today. Very cool here today but a pleasant walk along the stream. Pleased I had good shoes for the muddy patches. Quick find at gz.
During my travel through the North Island I could find this Cache
Muddy, but great walk to the waterfall

Super cool spot! The cascade is beautiful, and the cache was easier than I expected (I first went up way too high thinking I might still be on the path, but the cache is really on the obvious path) TFTC!
Found cache just as described and in excellent condition. Glad I took the little detour to these cascades. I walked from Te Kuiti along the river today following Te Araroa.
Nicely hidden. Thank you.
Nicely hidden. Thank you.
Carried on to the waterfall and then on way back stopped at the cascade to locate the cache. GPS was our by 10-15m. Partner found it nearby. Nice setting. TFTC
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is three. This is the third and final one for the day. Now that the rain has stopped for a while it was time for a walk through the bush. A bit sloppy in places.
Cheers for the cache.

Getting late in the day but we thought we would make the dash through for another couple of cache. As the previous logger said GPS was saying 10m. So as I went up further I get a yell from high5zoe she's got the goods. Wahoo! Did some swaps here. Cool spot. Tftc
Third visit to this place for me. The little one needed morning tea and we were vastly running out of time and we needed to be in Pureora, so while CB feed the little one I ran off down the track to this cache, and I was very thankful of a quick find thanks to the great clue as the coords had me about 10m out. Managed to get back to the car in under 20mins from when I left and perfect timing as the little one had just finished her snack.
Fevalas and I spend 5 weeks at this beautiful country. We visit the North and the South Island.
Today we are going to Mangoakewa and stay here in our tent. We found this cache without beeing looking for, because I had this one not at my Garmin. We werde going to the Mangaokewa Gorge Walkway. I love waterfalls and went to almost everyone in NZ - no I am joking, but I tried to.
Everything was ok with box and logbook. Thanks for the cache and best regards from Germany!

Spotted it from 5m away so a quick find. Nice new log with not many entries it. Pretty cascade. Thanks for the cache.
Good chance to stretch the legs. No problems in locating this well stocked cache but took nothing and left nothing. Thanks for the placement
Well done team... my sister and I (Team Welsh and PageNZ) stopped on our way south to find the caches on this trail. I was closing in fast on Team Welsh but she had already found the cache by the time I climbed the steps. T4tc

We knew that this cache had been placed, and hoped it would be published to coincide with our trip down to NP for Christmas, which it was.
We travelled back roads in a borrowed campervan and enjoyed the leisurely pace and geocaching so much that despite having three days to get here, we still ran out of time and decided to find it on our return journey.
We are pleased that KayGeeDee had the pleasure of the FTF and are happy to claim second.
The cache was soon found and although well stocked, I squeezed in a ballpoint on a retractable cord, ideal for caching. Please take it someone, even if you don't have a swap, as it won't like to be in the damp bush too long.
I found I had a tiny hitchhiker, so spent my time getting a photo which I will attach.
Thanks for placing another cache in this lovely area, it really is worth a visit. We hope to return to camp here some time.
I hope geocaching 'sticks' with some of the boys on camp, it is such a diverse pastime.

FTF at 1.40pm. Last night I was sitting thinking where I would geocache today. Saw that this was still unfound so thought do Te kuiti and Waitomo. Late rise from bed and saw that no logs so set off midday. Arrived at carpark and enjoyed the walk to GZ. A quick find followed and surpised that the log was still blank. My 50th FTF. Thanks for the cache.
