#5601 - Doing the loop track today with the geohounds as we test our new hiking boots out that we just purchased in Albury. Last of a trio of finds today and definitely didn't approach it from the right angle. A few scratches later arrived at gz where after walking in circles for a couple of minutes finally spied the prize. TFTC Thewins5.
The log is a bit worse for wear, but found a scrap to sign on with geokid #2. TFTC
It's such a great day to be out and about. Back in Wodonga - its been some time since the last visit and a few missions have lured me from home base to the flat country. This new trail is fabulous and the indigenous focus, history and sculptures work together so well...a lot has changed since 2017! TFTC and the FUN!
Spent way too long searching here in all sorts of spots and directions so finally had to call "Time" and admit defeat. Another time perhaps.
A lovely day so we, BettyBoo3747 and I, loaded up the deadly treadlies and set off for Wodonga Gateway Island. Very nice bike tracks.Ripped shirt, but no cache here today. Thanks, Robmc.
No worries here after widening the search a tad and not looking down. TFTC and SL at 10:20. Lovely day for a walk. So great sculptures along the way too.
and_me and I had been to the GeoBash event at Canberra and were on our way home after an overnight stop at Albury. We decided that we should stretch our legs before the big drive so we decided to wander around this trail.A quick find. TFTC.
TFTC.....found this and signed the log quite quickly. I am fairly certain that the cows in the nearby paddock were wondering what frilk and I were up to, however the answer to that question was far less important to the cows than a full stomach, so they soon turned back to eating and frilk and I continued on our merry way.
Found this one on our walk around the loop. Picked up TB to continue its travels.TFTC.
Checked today - cache right where it should be and TBs safe.Taking one to continue its joirney
No luck here today, DNF for this one, trying to do some caches on the way from Newcastle to Melbourne, Via Yass, Albury, Wongaretta, Shepparden, Bendigo and Ballarat We looked at all the likely spots you would/could hide a cache around near GZ, also looked at previous logs for any hints. . Thewins5. Attempted to find this at 1:18PM on this Thursday the 1st of February in the year 2024
Albury Invasion trip Day 3. After planning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. We started the day with a walk around the Riverside trail for the virtual and thew caches along the way. The second port of call was the new rail trail caches where a large group wandered along the trail visiting the caches, it is great to see this trail re-populated with caches. The second part of the day was small group caching around the area, visiting a few DNFs and other caches we had missed the day before. As before the effort put into the puzzles and all the caches in the area is really appreciated, and with so much more to do, I am sure I will be back before too long. Thanks for the cache Thewins544935.10 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2011 6th Birthday A#207**Albida**
Dropped this Nov last year but Cachly did not record any of the TB drops. Bit worrying as now it seems to be missing.
After a pleasant night in sheer luxury, fitzy_1965 and I were up early to take advantage of our free breakfast before joining the rest of the CIA crew for a day of caching before we all went our separate ways.We crossed the river into Victoria to meet at the start of The Crossing Place walk and did the loop before the sun got too hot. The walk itself was quite pleasant and was a good test for my hip which has not been the best of late. We targeted of the OZ trail and whatever else we came across. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.
We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area. Thanks for the hide Thewins5
Day 3 of our Canberra (+3) Invasion of Albury. Starting time and place had been discussed and agreed upon at Kittykatch's Event last night. There was to be a variety of cache types, D/T's and attributes covered to hopefully provide something of interest for everyone participating. All mystery caches had already been solved as a group effort on various zoom sessions before we left home. The day was sunny and hot, but everyone rose to the challenge, and all these caches were found and signed CIA. Thanks to all the COs who placed and maintained these caches. They certainly encourage me to get out and travel.
#18966; Day 3 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend. Our merry band again comprised Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e, isopeda, dty73, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for another day of action today. Started the day with a wander along a part of the Crossing Place Trail, where we managed to locate and log 12 caches, which were again signed CIA23. The long grass aside, it was a pleasant way to kick off the day. Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity. TFTC Thewins5
Albury TripTime for an Aussie road trip with Joolay, albida33 and FurfacesLL plus others from the Canberra puzzling team. Signed as CAI Canberra Albury Invasion). Thanks for the hide Thewins5
Lovely walk. Dropped TBDay 3 of our Albury trip. Decided to start with the walk along the river. Very pleasant and a lovely cool start.Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Signing as CIA-Canberra Invasion of Albury. And apologies for generic logs. Thanks for getting me out and about Thewins5
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and CIA23 cachers on a quick Albury invasion! Thanks Thewins5!
Found on day 3 of our trip to Albury. Signed as CIA or CIA23 for Canberra Invasion of Albury. Tftc
This morning I set out with the rest of the Canberra Cachers that were invading Albury to walk the Crossing Trail around this area and to pick up the information for the virtual as well as finding the trads and the multi. We signed as CIA - Canberra Invasion of Albury.I very much enjoyed this area, despite the walk being longer than anticipated and my knee only just holding up. TFTC
Day 3 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL.This morning we started with the loop walk around The Crossing point, including a few nearby caches. All caches were found without any issue, although the grass was long in some area. Logs were signed CIA 23, for Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...
33,862. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. This was now (my) Day 2 of the trip. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks Thewins5 !!
Getting rather dark by this stage but eventually found it the last physical on the crossing place trail. Thanks.
Found with McAdies and Jelly_bean14 today.
A nice easy find in an interesting spot.

While gathering information for the nearby virtual, just quickly ticking off the traditionals along the way. This one was a nice quick find, beautiful spot though, such lovely greenery around here.
Happy to report that apart from one latch being broken, the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.

We came here to complete the new virtual in the area so stopped by to find this one in the loop around. Cache was easily found and is all good
Day 4 of Courtneyrose_ and I’d trip from Adelaide to Sydney. Today we made our way from Corowa to Corryong, after spending the morning in Rutherglen we headed towards Albury/Wodonga to complete a new virtual then continued on for the rest of the afternoon. A lovely day out exploring some new country side.
Thanks for the cache

Continued my trip around the trail and noted that the last two logs were DNF's. Not hopeful of a find - considering the recent floods etc - but I was able to literally walk straight into this cache. Not sure why the others couldn't find this as it wasn't in a spot that you'd likely miss, well out of the path of any flood and hidden exactly the same as one of the other caches. Who knows. Anyway, TFTC
Track is finally open again (and repaired) so took the opportunity to do a maintenance run. Pleased to say cache was above flood level and all good- some moisture in the container because was not coded properly but otherwise log is fine.
Plenty of people enjoying the river today - was too hot for a walk (when it cools down I will place a few more here)

Didn't get to this one today - will walk the extra distance on a cooler day. Track however is now open from the west (east end still flooded)
Track is still technically closed and while I was in the area today I didn't have the chance to check this cache.
Will revisit after Christmas to check on the container and do maintenance as required (I suspect this one has been wet).

Now own this cache, but river has been high so can't check. Will be underwater at the moment so will probably need to replace once things get safer.
Claim my adopted out cache as a find so as to not have unnecessary green icons on the map. GL "P"
Taking over this cache from OZREG - thanks for maintaining this for so long Reg.
I will do a maintenance run for all these transferred caches once the Murray River drops a bit lower.
This one will become part of The Crossing Place series in time

Our first family find. The newbie saw it first! Lots of muggles due to the fabulous new sculpture walk.
Absolutely perfect day to be out caching, and so why not check out the newly-constructed "The Crossing Place" trail and collect a couple of caches.
After finding No.2 it was back-track towards the Union Bridge and see if No.1 could be located.
A couple of people out strolling on the Victorian side of the Murray River, and soon I had reached GZ.
The GPS carried on a little bit here, but before long the hide was found.
SL at midday. Cache all ok and replaced as found.
It's great to have a couple of hides along here.

Back logging this one. Out with my daughters to find the caches around this road. A quick find here. Forgot to log so returned here a year later to refund the log and see what date it was. Cool to see Nureall from the other side of the river!
Never been on this side of the river around here, wasn't sure how to get onto this track so just ended up going through the community garden. Once at gz took a little bit but soon found cache. Thankyou!
We have never been to this side of the river and was heading to a puzzle cache I had recently solved and decided to pick this one up on the way

Spending some time in the area - another afternoon on the hunt. The sun sets fast around here, and having meandered the car down to the gate, it was time for two legs and a heartbeat to take over.
```
There are 106 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it!
```
And I was only yesterday complaining about not getting enough exercise in the cold weather down here. A very clear track to follow - another one of those cool pedestrian gates, the mighty Murray at my side, and cool enough to warrant a decent paced jog. Kept an eye on the numbers trending down and once around a wide bend slowed to start my hunt. A good quick find (saw this style of hide at another one by this CO recently - effective). Name in the log, and then a lovely return jog (pick up the pace Prime, you're getting old), safely navigating the car out of the area and back into NSW. FP for this experience and all the fun I've been having, largely thanks to this CO.
Thanks TeamOZCAT for entertaining me at this location.

A beautiful walk along the track leading to a tricky hide. Found with matho64. TFTC
Reading the description always helps cause i had no idea how to access the walking trail on this side of the river but a very helpful man at the butanese community garden opened up a gate for me and i was on my way... not much of a track but found my way, sl and now to tackle number 2...

This is the first time l have walked the track on the vicie side. Amazing how many rough sleepers frequent that area. Lots of abandoned tents, and unfortunately rubbish
I thought I would head out and try to get these this afternoon before it got dark; I got most of the way back before the sun decided to go away for the night.
It was a lovely walk and a good quality hide or two and an impressive sunset. I will say well done on the caches Reg but I'm not to sure on that sunset.
This cache was out of its hidey hole and on the ground, still in good condition and put back in place. Left TB

It was a lovely day and we hadn't been caching in ages so Mrs Lost Wanderer and two of the juniors went for a walk on the south side. We had a great time talking to the cow, trudging and seeing people floating down the river (maybe feeling a bit jealous that we were hot from walking and they were nice and cool in the water).
Once were had trudged far enough we checked a few likely places and the Little Miss S made the find. Thanks for the hide and for bringing us to a beautiful location OzReg.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. We headed to Albury/Wodonga today with the aim of doing some caching on this long weekend. Had a few other caches in mind but the showers and slightly cooler weather convinced me that it might be a good time to do some caching along the river. We went for a walk, took a bit of a shortcut and found this cache. All in good condition. TFTC

Ater a DNF a few days ago and speaking with the CO, we decided to go for another walk and try our luck again. Once again, enjoyed the early morning walk, and this time armed with a bit more info, we returned to GZ. This time we expanded the search, and the nicely concealed hide was found about 12m upstream from where the GPS was pointing me.
Good to turn this blue frown into a smiley. We will be back with our bikes.
Thanks OZREG for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Up early this morning, and as it was a beautiful start to the day, hubby and myself decided to go for a walk. This was a lovely place to wander. An area we hadn't been before. Surprised to see the remains of tents, where a few people had been living but now had abandoned. There was still the remains of items, scattered nearby the GZ, so not sure how long they have been here.
We searched around for some time and found the likely hide, as per the hint and where the GPS was pointing, but the hide was empty. We will be back again, after talking with CO, as it is a lovely area.
Thanks anyway.

Could not find this one. Looks like someone has been spending time here with rubbish around. Found a likely hide location but it was empty
AGAIN.... Log and container to be replaced shortly. Strange how this "out of the way cache" is so prone to damage.
This was the last one for me for the day. Arrived at gz and began my search, dodging the rubbish/old tents that someone had inconsiderately left all over the ground. Not having much luck I read a few logs and saw that it may have been moved. I expanded my search and was looking in the spots the hint said to look. Was about to give up when I found it lying on the ground. Got the log out and it was pretty damp. Signed it best I could and placed it back in the spot I thought it belonged. Needs new log
Lovely day for a walk with Stepho_5. Here is a tip - read the notes from the CO.
This cache has been on the radar for sometime, but wanted to wait until it cooled down a little..
Headed out this morning with jorgo_crew to collect a couple of smilies. Ive walked plenty of times on the other side of the Murray but the first time that ive explored this side.
