Visiting from the state of Washington in the United States. We flew into Wellington. After the Te Papa museum and finding the oldest cache in New Zealand, we took the ferry to Picton. We went out to Lochmara Lodge for a day and then drove through Havelock to Nelson. We had a fun event with local geocachers in Nelson, then yesterday decided to take the water taxi from Marahou to Anchorage Bay to hike the trails including out to Pitt Head. We had lunch at Pitt Head Lookout. We had a great fun finding caches along the way. Ended up with 4 finds and only one DNF.Today I was out in Richmond and Nelson looking for some challenges and traditionals as well as my first letterbox in New Zealand. It was a fun morning. Thanks for the hides.
Out and about filling in the afternoon. Drove past one cache when a car pulled up right beside it, then missed the parking for the next so came onto this one. Parked at the top and walked down, where Andy then made a quick find. He headed back to the car while I continued on downhill and waited for him to pick me up. tftc#6942
I was looking for this one bending down when someone from above suddenly approached asking if I was peeing in the bush or looking for this "geothing". His backyard is fencing the reserve and he was busy gardening, but not too busy to ask me if geocaching is fun and what I actually find - after I confirmed that I was NOT peeing in the bush.. He said people before had looked in "that" area, so I searched a bit more but eventually turned around to the other side and then made the find.
On a morning caching stroll through the area. We were here once, months ago. Were driven away by all the mosquitos then. No such issues now, tftc!

found with kjj162. was a quick find on the 2nd visit first visit we were up and down the steps 2nd visit the co-ords took me straight to it don't know i missed it before tftc
I looked around for about 30 min and could not find it will go back again to look
The search for this was a process of elimination because my phone was jumping around a lot. A bit of hunting I different likely spots produced the find though. Must have lingered a bit too long after as the mozzie sent me on my way. TFTC.
Could I possibly have a little hint it seems that the gos is playing up I been looking for a awhile now thxs
I had a little fight with the branch of a shrub near GZ. It grabbed my glasses from their spot around my neck, so I looked on the ground to find them, but they were not there. Instead the branch kept a firm grip on them over 1m off the ground. Once I found my glasses, the cache was an easy find. TFTC.
Yay. Found it today. Not sure how I missed it last time, as i am sure I found it last time, but it is well camoflagued. Got home before the rain set in.
Stupidly took several trys to find this. When located on one try, decided to "reserve" it. Today was a day when needed to up my finds for the day. TFTC
On a 3 week geocaching trip with woolwood9 around the top of the South Island.
*Very nice find for us here.*
SL **tm/ww NZ**, but may appear as a black smudge on the many wet logs or plastic log strips.
*Thanks for the reason to visit this location and for the cache!*
Raining nearly all day today.

Great hide.
I grew up in this neighbourhood and have never visited this reserve.
So peaceful with the sound of native birds.

A quick find in a little reserve that I had not been to before. Thanks for the cache.
Our has been petsat near here. I came to pick him up but no one home so a good opportunity to grab this one. TFTC
This one took a few minutes longer than it should have, found in my second check of the correct spot. Coords were good for me today despite the trees. TFTC SoBad, all good.
Not much on today, so with my eye on the weather forecast (favourable til nightfall) and a new souvenir challenge released, I decided to front foot it and head over the hill to boost some numbers.
Quite a few solved mysteries in the bank - today I was able to tick off some of those.
But basically the day was dictated by the challenge, and I roamed around with no real plan - just urban park and grabs and short walks, of which I still have a lot to find.
20 for the day, good fun. Left for home when it started to become a chore. A few DNFs as normal, but great to be over the hill again. Thanks all COs.

I came over solo for a change - to spend some time with one of my dads in Motueka, and to do some work on my new geocaching project, Tasman Rail. NB - don't expect them next week - Rail serie take a huge amount of research and usually three visits to each cache site. Maybe in a month or two. And on top of all that today is my very last size small dot day, so on the way to Mot I stopped off here for my first small of the day. Grabbed the TB to move on. noted that the reserve had not been mapped, so I bread crumbed it on my GPS and will add it to the maps on Monday.
Woohoo! Small cache found - that's a small find for every day of the year! Woot!

Compass keep changing its mind. Big reserve - just could not work out the area in which to start hunting
expecting this geocache to be an easy find but I couldn't find this cache today.
What a nice surprise to find this reserve. The path was very slippery after all the rain but the cache dry and well protected. TFTC.
GK was working on Waimea Road today so I picked him up at lunch time and we went around the corner to look for this one. Neither of us knew this reserve existed. This is a nice area, we might come back again when we have more time to have a better look around. Thanks SoBad for the cache.
What an awesome reserve I walked up through here yesterday looking for this cache unfortunately I couldn't find it ,so headed back today with a hint from PC I managed to locate .It was quite wet under foot and it was great to hear the birds . Thanks for placing this cache SoBad
Found this last school holidays and forgot to log it then, great little cache not far from our back doorstep.
We have finally made the effort to go and find this cache today after countless times reminding each other it was still waiting to be 'ticked off'.
I remember finding the last cache here too.
It is also our penultimate calendar day for some local challenges. Finding this one qualifies us for the "3 a day" and when we log that one it will finish off the "4 a day" so another longer term challenge nears completion.
The GPS refused to settle on one spot here so we decided to use logic instead.
Thank you Sobad.

We found a cache in this reserve when we just started caching. It was good to be back. Thank you SoBad
Since this cache is only 100 metres from the door i took a couple of kids to see if they would like geocaching. They Didn't. So caching on my own again. tftc
Took the time out on a morning bike ride to call in to the Reserve and make the find with little chance of being muggled. After a bit of misguided searching on the wrong side of the path I decided to widen my horizons (ie cross the path) and a quick find was made. TFTC SoBad.
Quick find while staying at my son's house just down the road.picked up TG. Tftc

I was not anticipating needing to call in the reserves just yet but a longer swim with the kids this afternoon (Yay! Has summer arrived?) meant that tonight's plan A goes back on the shelf for another day.
I recall having a spot of bother with this Reserve's predecessor but I got that one in the end.
Thankfully, tonight's foray was more straightforward although with my phone having a bit of a dither under the trees, I still ended up checking a couple of other possible locations before determining the best of the three.
Just as I was signing the log, the sound of voices and footsteps descended from above, so thoughts to TB swaps were halted as I hurried to get the container closed and rehidden in good time.
It was a close call but I made it back with a little in reserve.
Thanks

Having found one cache it seemed there was just time for one more before completing the chores and heading for home. Yep, been here before, just the once I think. A nice tract of bush. It's great that it has been preserved.
Swapped trackables.

A lunch time visit for me. My third visit to this very nice reserve. The rimu and pohutakawa are neat in here. Cache found quickly so I decided to continue my walk to the top before heading back to the car.
Thanks SoBads for the cache.

No need for reserve caches these days.
Some time I had while heading back home to visit this reserve again.
It has been quite some time.
A "quickish" find at GZ.
Admired the Rimu's.

Nice one. Found in the first place I looked - but not on the first time I looked there! Gps reception a bit flakey in there. Nice wee reserve, and those little rimus as originally observed on a previous caching visit, are coming along well. Tftc.
GPS took me straight to the cache. No problems. Thanks SoBad. Nice to revisit this hidden reserve
I got a bit side tracked with other things on the way to find a cache at Brightwater. That took up a bit of time so I ended up here instead. I would like to say the GPS lead me straight to it but it didn't. It first lead me here, then there, then I checked out another likely spot and it agreed it could be there. Finally I gave up on it as I vaguely remembered which flight I had been on for the original one. Saw a likely spot, found the cache and then of course the GPS wanted to play too and agreed. A lovely reserve that I've visited at least twice before for a cache and more than happy to return for another. Swapped TBs. TFTC #9780
Yip, recall a cache up here. Nice spot.
GPS counted down to 4 then instantly to 15m. Kept walking, but no change. Went back, with cache page, made quick find with GPS now reading 24m. Must go back to old faithful permanently.
Thanks for the cache and best wishes to you.

Finding a box on boxing day - a nice way to start the day. A not unexpected STF here at about 9am this morning. Probably the third cache that I can remember finding in this reserve. No problems finding this one though, GPS seemed to point the way and the cache was found in the first place I checked. Swapped trackables. TFTC, Biggles.
Enjoyed the walk on this beautiful Nelson day.
GPS led us straight to the cache, and it wasn't long before we're signing the log.
Thank you SoBad for the cache and have a happy new year

I don't need to worry about calendar days st the moment but set myself a target of beating my total from 2015 before the end of the year and I also need first day finds for my DGSc so I couldnt keep this "in reserve". Took a lot longer than it should have, the first place I looked was where I found it but I didnt see it that time. TFTC SoBad
