Back up the Federal and Hume Highways for a few hours today to make a further dent in the Goulburn-region cache collection. A lovely stroll around Governors Hill. Thanks, gazza959!
A last minute decision early morning to head north again for a few hours. A beautiful warm spring day with beautiful green views all around particularly while driving on the highway. Quick find. TFTC gazza959!
Found 16/10/24. Bush bashed part of the way up from Anderson and found some rough tracks. Some trees are down at the cache site but the cache is still there and un good condition. The glue holding the log together has disintegrated leaving at pieces of loose paper, but i dont have a replacement with me.
1 of the 3Mutineers, KitKataddict12739 (also the 2 geohounds) and myself needed a good walk for our mental wellbeing. I've had my eye on this Governor Hill series for a long time and decided today was the day. Yes it was cold, yes it was windy, yes there was lots of bushbashing and yes we found an occasional track but... we all had an absolutely fantastic day. Thanks for the interesting history and thanks for the caches.
This series was one of my main targets for my trip to Goulburn. I tackled the series on foot, averaging one find every 11 minutes without any great exertion. No dnf's, but did have to go digging for a couple and did utilise an alternative cache provided alongside the original when the original was unserviceable.
My eighth find in the series and once again good co-ordinates resulted in a quick find.

Today was a small group outing to Goulburn. My first trip over the border for over two months. The main aim was the Governors Hill caches for a walk, but there were several other caches on the days list to be attempted as well. The group was Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny, Isopeda, Barb2e, Kitty Katch and Joolay.
I had done the two near the highway, so the rest were for today. Only one needed attention. All in all a very nice walk on a hill no where near as difficult as the ones we have been on the last few weekends.
Thanks for the cache gazza959

Out with a group from Canberra that included Albida, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, Barb2e and Isopead for a few hours caching Goulburn.
After a couple of higher D/T caches, this series was our main aim for the day. All but one cache was found without issue, and the one we didn't find was replaced after checking with the CO. A pleasant walk around the area on a great day weather wise.
Thanks gazza959....

This location was a great surprise. A dam here? For what purpose? By whom? After the signing of the log was completed we set off in a direct line towards the next cache on our list but a quick conversation with a (slightly damaged) mountain biker had us change directions for an easier walk. Thanks for a really intriguing cache (location) gazza959. FP for this one.
I was in Goulburn today and had 45 minutes to kill, as I was running much too early for where I needed to be next!
Unsure how I would kill that much time, I decided to finally come and put a small dent in this series! I’ve left this series and the one across the road for far too long, the rest of Goulburn has always been cleared out for me! One of the caches I found even had 1 year of unloved even though it was only a 10 minute return walk from the road, I feel like one of the last locals to find it!
I did four of the caches in this series today, before I had to keep on moving. So will still need to return to get the rest!
TFTC, enjoyed the walk through here. Very peaceful and nice easy open bush land to walk through!

Finally came back to finish off (ie, get the rest of) this series. TFTC and the nice walk.
Finally made the trip around Goulburn, Taralga and Laggan. A big day on the road with lots of caches found. Thanks For The Caches!
We had a most enjoyable day of caching around Goulburn. Sunday is always a great day to do caches in a city. We also ventured out for a bush walk and found the Governors Hill series. Thanks to gazza959 for arranging this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We were heading to Goulburn for the CITO later this afternoon, so decided to head up a bit earlier with GLISS! to collect a few others that had popped up since our last visit.
A nice stroll around this hill...a bit of workout in some parts, but really enjoyable trail..TFTC gazza959

In G Town for this afternoon's CITO so find a few more Goulburn caches with furfaces. TFTC
Easy walking, quick finds, thanks for a fun and productive afternoon of caching.
Found with nissan 65. After spending a night at near by caravan park we decided to collect these ones before heading home for a pm shift today. Great day for it beautiful weather. Thankyou for the cache
After staying a night in goulburn caravan park we decided to go get a couple of cache with cullum68 thanks for the cache
Found while taking a break from driving. It was a nice walk to GZ. As I got nearer, the guardian kangaroos led the way then hopped off. I soon had CIH. On the walk back to the car I saw a wallaby. TFTC.

Today I'm due to make my 3000th find, so I headed back up the road to Goulburn. I've been trying to keep up with all the new caches released there. It's certainly been a hotbed of geocache placement of of late. It was a foggy start to the day, but the fog cleared & a lovely day ensued.
The is my second go at this series. I was here I guess about 6 months ago & did the first set. I recall it was hot. Not so hot today & it was a very pleasant wander over the hills to gather these 4 remaining caches.
TFTC gazza959.

I asked Noodles22 If I could go caching with him today. I wasn't expecting a 2 hour drive to the main caching grounds! But at least we stopped along the way a few times (to grab a couple of caches) to break up the journey!
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
I love walking through this type of bushland. Not much low scrub to wade through, and almost visible tracks that aren't necessary to follow to make distance. The latter especially as it often led the wrong direction to where I wanted to go!
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

Another great weekend away with Hoojar and The Rats. This time it was down towards Canberra with a few caches in between. This was one of many that we managed to tackle. TFTC!
What a great spot for some caches and a history lesson. Found with Justjessie on our Goulburn adventure. TFTC.
When a weekend caching with the boys comes along you grab it by the horns, with kids weekend sport washed out steeba, Hoojar and myself headed south with a goal of completing the Kangaroo power trail in Kowen Forest.
Over 2 days we found 150+ caches, walked through 679 spiderwebs, saw 310 kangaroos, were surprised by 8 deer, patted 1 echidna and stepped over countless fallen, all in the name of fun.
Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to our weekend and apologises for the generic log, but certainly doesn't detract from the hide or the fun we had.

Another fantastic weekend away with The Rats and Steeba.
We had been trying for some time to get the timing right to head back to the ACT to knock over the Kowen 'Roo series. On our previous attempt, the Forest was closed. We thought the same would happen this weekend, when we realised that we were clashing with the Mont 24, so we came up with Plan B.
However, Steeba came through with the goods, access was granted, and even a Permit to drive and camp in the Forest was obtained... Excellent! So our plans changed at the very last minute, and we were back on for The 'Roo.
We found about 150 caches over the weekend, the three of us, along with Juno my geo-puppy. We walked, cached, talked and generally had an excellent time, as we always do on our caching trips away. We especially walked through some beautiful scrub in Goulburn and Kowen.
Thank you to all of the cache owners that placed caches that we found over the course of our trip. Sorry about the generic logging, I promise it does not reflect my enjoyment of your cache!
Cheers

Found it! Decided to venture out to governors Hill with the missus and the two and a half year old son this morning.
Decided to let the missus take lead with the gps so with a boy who no longer decided walking was necessary we trekked around the four remaining caches with him on my shoulders in thongs (I do my best caching in thongs)! No slitherins around only the odd wallaby and kangaroo far few than there was last time I was here and only sustained two small lacerations to my feet thi is time around. All in all great little family hike.
All found caches today are in great condition and were found relatively quick.
TFTC TNLN.

Decided to call into Goulburn on the way home and pick up these caches that weren't here last time. A fair walk from the carpark and a bit muddy underfoot, but got around to these 4 governors caches before it started to rain (although it was so humid I got wet anyway!)
Thanks - always nice to go for a walk here.

One can only assume Gov' Bligh was never going to write a book on how to make friends
and influence enemies, of which he had a few.
Another easy find, in a great piece of bushland.

I had the itchin for a few bush caches this morning so jumped in the car and drove to Goulburn to tackle this series along with the Woodland series,I arrived after lunch and had a really enjoyable time strolling around Governors Hill with the roos and wallabies, and finding all the caches,
I deceided I would tackle the series clockwise.
I could hear the roar of engines almost the whole journey from the nearby speedway
Thanks gazza959 for this series !!

Chose today to walk around Governors Hill, to get all the caches, as weather was cool around 20 degrees. Parked on highway near Governor Phillip cache and walked to the rest from there. Found and signed all. Great series. Thanks for the walk and all the caches.
I was here a little while ago, and even managed to ftf the first batch! Now it seems there are more!! Got to love multiplying caches . Anyways, I still haven't found the best way to approach these caches, so I simply parked at the highest point on the highway, and started there. I figured there was certainly less altitude involved doing it that way.
This time was more enjoyable than last time. Last time had the breeze blowing from the sewage works, and it was terrible! This time, no smells, and not only that, on a couple of occasions I spotted a pack/bunch/group/herd of deer! Wow, didn't expect that! Nice and easy find, thanks Gazza!

I agree with Paul the Hippy's comment about the stunning woodland. Having lived in capital cities almost all my life, I love getting away from the asphalt, brick and beton brute; into the bush. This place is in pretty good nick. (I noticed piles of rubbish while walking up Mount Gray. [CITO event opportunity?] But no rubbish here.)
Bligh is such an interesting historical figure. Imagine working for him! Or imagine being stuck in a long boat with him for several thousand kilometres! I do admire him for that voyage. For the sheer bloody-mindedness of getting out of that near-fatal situation. I've heard some amusing anecdotes about his time as governor of NSW.
Thanks for placing this series gazza959!

A great day of caching in the highlands and Goulburn. Had lots of puzzles solved in the preparation and was determined to do multi's or any unusual caches as well. Ended up with only 3 dnf for the day and lots of funny and good finds, thanks for putting out all the caches.

We come today with the Geohounds for a run to Goulburn. An early start while the day was still coon, lots of birds sound and spotted several Kangaroos . All caches signed and placed as found. Nice bit of bush. TFTC
The plan for to-day was to find caches around Mt Gray and Governors Hill and then around Goulburn itself. Nice to walk through open forested areas and quite a few roos around. TFTC.
12864. Found during a day trip to Goulburn on the last day of my holidays.
I was up this way 4 days ago and whittled down the unfound caches in the area to around 20, so I decided to come up again today to try and clean out Goulburn - at least for while I hope ! I was very lucky to have a guide (or guides) for the Governors Hill series - minniek and her clan meeting me to go for the loop around the 10 caches here. Next find for the day. Continuing on from the last cache we soon arrived at the next in the series. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, returned the cache, then we headed off to the next one.
Thanks again gazza959 !! Nice little series in a lovely area !

Got this FTF with Minniek, Nibletricecakes and Countrykittykat. It was the last cache before 30 mins of being lost in the reserve in the heat.
Nibletricecakes mentioned that the 4 new caches up here hadn't been found so we hatched a plan to wonder up and grab them. Found with b0tmun, countrykittykat, DK and nibletricecakes for a joint FTF
The last of our little FTF run across the hill (though let's be honest.. we walked it lovely pond nearby. And beautiful kangaroo showing us the way. Tftc
