Hi everyone, it appears this section of land is no longer being maintained by council. I plan to move the geocache to a near location that is easier to access and update the coordinates. Hoping to complete this on Sunday the 19th Feb.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Going by all the past DNF logs could a CO check be done on this cache please
Got to the site, looked at every photo and at the hint and still couldn't find it!
I'll have to come back when I have a bit more time.

Had a really good bush bash, could not find sadly. Had some great views while covered in wattle
Could not find the location. I used the activity log and photos to try and pinpoint the area however the places pictured are much more overgrown. I searched around the top and bottom of the big rock/rock edge and near the tap but couldn’t spot it
Bah! I spent way too much time here. Up and around from WP, up to top, over, back down, back up etc. On any other day my feeling would be that it has been muggled as there's nothing here that I can see, including such as what is hinted in previous logs... and I sure gave it a going over. But hey this is my third DNF from three today so what do I know!

Was within 1m +/- 5m. Could see beautiful clearing overlooking the baths but unable to find the cache. Very overgrown and lots of fallen limbs. Will definitely attempt again

Started at the baths and headed up the hill on a well worn track for a short distance then it became a 'bush bashing' walk. Finally found but not sure if the rock will stay with the next down pour. TFTC A lovely view from the carpark above.
Found with My Dad (DJANT) and my Brothers (dart16 & Jedi Anakin) I have my own account now and am trying to catch up to the boys Thanks for the cache.
Well 2020 has been a relatively slow year on the caching front due to COVID-19. If it wasn't for that it would have been a trip to the USA and Geocaching's 20th year celebrations.
However the crew got back together and The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for a few days caching up around the Hunter area. First it was to finish off some of the older OZGM series caches then up into the Watagans for more. Most of Saturday was spent tackling the great Dogs Head Trail then on Sunday it was down into Newcastle city for some great caches.
This was another find on our trip.
TFTC!

COVID has really put a dampener on this year’s caching ability, but it hasn't stopped my enthusiasm to get out and find a cache whenever possible. So, it was with excitement that I was keen to catch up with Steeba and Hoojar for our first caching weekend of the year.
We targeted a number of powertrails in the Central Coast and Hunter region over our 3-day caching frenzy. The weekend threw up a bit of everything, including a plethora of finds, mountain bush bashing, coastal caching, weather that varied from beautiful to bizarre, sleeping under the stars, some close calls with the flora and fauna, lovely local hospitality and most of all, a great time away with my mates”.
Thanks to all the C.O’s for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find. Apologises for the generic log but with so many finds I couldn’t personalise every one of them.
Sunday had us pondering our next move, we’d had such a good few day’s that we’d already completed our previous plan. Alas we headed for the coast where we found parks and beaches swarming with muggles, but we were still able to grab a few finds as we made our way southwards towards home.
After a few false starts we finally got to the right elevation.
Thanks

With restrictions starting to ease in our Covid World, it was decided that 2020 caching really need to kick up a gear, and so a plan was set in motion for The Rats, Steeba and myself to head to the Newcastle and Hunter region. There were a few trails, power trails, and Lab Caches that would be hitting our radars, along with a milestone for The Rats. We headed off on Thursday evening and turned for jome on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful long weekend was had, and our cache finds topped 450 for the trip. All in all it was a great success.
The caches were excellent. Some indeed were amazing, and favourite points have been awarded. The company, as always, was faultless. The weather was varied. We had sun, rain, wind, colder, warm, more wind... A bit of everything! We managed to find a few nice spots to camp, and enjoyed the company of Big Matt and Marcus Vitruvius for dinner at a local establishment on Saturday evening.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

Found GZ via the path but a lot of bush wacking and steep track couldn’t find it.
Very overgrown which is probably from successful bush regeneration.
No luck today. Didn’t want to get hands cut by sharp bushes. Maybe find a new spot less precarious. Thanks anyway.

Wow - you and your husband came up here for the proposal? That was a bit extreme!
I don't think I approached this cache the best way and then it was a bit of a struggle to get a good GPSr fix, however after a few minutes I was directed straight to the cache location where I found a nicely exposed set up!
Getting down again was even more tricky as I didn't want to retrace my steps and I found myself having to drop down a cliff [B)]
Nice views from up here and once again we felt privileged to be shown this place that I am sure hardly anyone goes up to.
Thanks Barry's Owner.

Back again for another go. Here at 7am and still there is no parking. Going to be a hot day,but boy people get here early. Parked again at Dickson Beach and did a huge loop, going to the Junction and the blow hole before returning to the car. The track at the cache has pretty well grown over. Once there you cannot see a way out so you gotta bush bash. And after my comments in my dnf. Lol. I ended up going all the way around it triangulating to get a gz and using the least disruptive path. Not sure if the rock would survive a downpour. Probably why people have found it exposed. There is a very brave water dragon at the base of the cliff. Doesnt like being disturbed. Tftc
Parking was a little difficult today. Found a spot at Dixon Beach. Nice walk. Found the track easily enough. Found GZ, but i may have been too low, according to the pictures i looked at today. After the fact. Phone was losing spark in the field, so game over for today as i forgot my recharge facilites. I will return...
One thing i am annoyed with though, and its getting more and more. The game we play is supposed to have little impact on the environment. The amount of logs i read about people "bush bashing" Why, there is a trail, with trail head WP.. What is the go!? Also, the cache itself, "hidden under a rock"... I do not appreciate having to upturn every home in a 20 M radius to discover a cache. Sorry i am ranting on this cache page, but getting over it....

Boy oh boy was this a hard cache to get to. There are two different paths one can take to get up the hill and to GZ. It doesn't matter which one you take though, as both meet up again a little bit below where you need to be. I only know this because there was a large bush that had grown all the way across the path, blocking my way unless I wanted to force all the branches out of the way. I decided to had back to the fork and take the alternate route in the hopes that I would end up on the other side of the bush. However I just ended up at the exact same bush and had no other choice but to force aside the branches and continue along the trail. Hopefully this will provide some more protection from muggles and the concealment for the cache is rather obvious when you arrive at GZ.
Don't forget to turn back towards the water for the view.
Thanks for the cache Barry's Owner

Having just completed the thoroughly enjoyable long distance Virtual Cache we came in search of this one. We had fun getting up to Ground Zero where the cache was then located soon enough. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and belated congratulations to the CO! Greetings from Zimbabwe
Found cache great view the clime was fun end up jumping over a fence at the end found in the open placed the rock back on top of the cache found with djant and jedi_anakin tftc
Found with Jedi _Anakin and dart16 nice views had fun with this one

This was my second attempt at this cache and super easy this time with my geokid. Overgrown bushes had to be taken on and I replaced the rock to keep the cache hidden. TFTC!
A bit of a trek to get there but it is manageable. Replaced rock which was leaving cache bare.TFTC
Not sure I took the right track down to this, and I'm not sure I took the right track back, but I found the well hidden cache in the end. Trackables visited, TFTC
Epic fail you pwned us n00bs... You are only as good as your next find. Found the rock but not the cache. It was nearly dark as I got to GZ.
Unfortunately no find today, the gps had Atlas12344321 and myself going everywhere, and we decided to retire to search another day- the arrival of 3 teenagers who were smoking encouraged our decision haha.
45DBJ was here!
Yeah! Number 2 in Oz.
Overgrown, not easy to find but not impossible. Sometimes the trail looks like stairs.
Please help me with the travelbugs I dropped today, make em travel!

Spent the afternoon and evening enjoying the baths and beach. While waiting for our pizza order, we headed back over and made our way up the trail from the trailhead with LookSkycacher. Found a big rock at GZ with lots of potential spots to hide a Big Rock but didn’t find a cache today. Thanks for the view though!
Looked like an nice easy cache but coming here at around 6 meant lots of mozzies. Was not prepared for that and after finding the loft up herr but no cache or clear path to proceed I was close on running back down away from the mosquitos. Gave it one last try and pushed throu some bushes and saw the big cache. Quick duties and left a Coin before I ran for my life back down again.
It must have been very different conditions when you proposed up here
Thank you Barry's Owner for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Was expecting this one to be a little tougher but working in the bush I guess I’m used of pushing through vegetation. Took about 20 to find. Thought I had grabbed the trackable but couldn’t find it when returned so hopefully it is still there and I didn’t loose it. Tftc
On a beautiful winter afternoon
I trekked into the overgrown track to find this magnificent spot and cache
I am heading overseas soon and wanted to pick up a Tb to accompany me and after trawling the caches around Newy I took a punt that this cache would bear fruit
I have taken 1 but left 1 here as I think it rude to collect 2 especially when I can't replace them and it gives the next cacher the incentive to brave the scrub
Well worth the walk to this spot and who wouldn't say yes to a proposal with this view
Cache is well hidden and in great nick
Not sure if the camera still works but I took a selfie anyway
Which is not easy with a non digital camera
I hope someone can still develop the pics these days
Well thanks for the cache time to move on
It was nice to find a seat here nearby to enjoy the view and write a post

Revisited the cache (again!) to drop off two trackables. It's an ideal place for dropping geocoins, only the most determined cachers will venture here.
Unsuccessful in finding the geocache. We trekked to where we thought the big rock was but once there it still said we were 4m away. We couldn’t find sadly

Out and about caching while in the region for the Oz Geomuster MEGA.

Another hot busy day caching and eventing and CITOing... The day was getting hotter and hotter but the seabreeze was good here. An interesting and very pretty area...in between the overgrown stuff. Thanks for this cache, Barry's Owner.
Happy Easter! I am caching in the area with VikingNav, working on the eight stage virtual and finding other fun caches along the way. We found this one to be in fine condition. Thanks for hiding it here!
After stopping at the baths to complete the Newcastle Coastal Tour virtual, we managed the overgrown track to a quick find. TFTC
This was a small matter of dividing and conquering, and it was seffnjarah that made the find. He also made a new geocaching friend at the same time. A great spot for a cache, and some 'edgy' photos. Seffnjunior got a little too close to the edge at one point. Thanks for the cache.
After a welcome good night's sleep following a long trip down from Brisbane, Swellerfungus, Dez (JezNDez), Ms Krankenwagen and my daughter and I were all out for our first full day of caching at the Morisset Mega event, picking up a number of caches on our to-do list including this one.
While Swellerfungus and Dez enjoyed the nearby pool, I headed up the slope in search of the cache, closely followed by Ms Krankenwagen and my daughter. In the maze of overgrown paths I soon lost them, only to discover another cacher joining in the hunt a short time later. After recovering the same ground a few times I eventually located the cache in a place I hadn't checked thoroughly enough first time round.
It was only when I returned to the pool level did I discover the location of the 2 teenagers - perched high on the cliff taking some photos for their social media. A little to literal on the "edgy" side for my liking and some harsh words were exchanged encouraging them to retreat to safer ground. Everyone survived safe and well in the end. TFTC

The group split up here with Swellerfungus and I heading down to the pool for a WP picture for a nearby Virtual cache (and a cooling swim), and Seff (seffnjarah) and the teenagers heading up to grab this one and some more pics for Instagram. Seff managed to not lose Ms Krankenwagen and Seffjunior over the edge, found the cache and made a friend! TFTC
Found It!
I parked only 20m from GZ but it took a lot more walking than that to get to the cache. Eventually I found another geocacher climbing around the cliff face and he soon found the cache for me! Then took the easy way out and walked straight back up to the car...

Little Jimmy and I cycled to Merewether Baths this morning. It's a warm and humid day in Newcastle and, leaving the bike, we decided to try the track from the waypoint. After a perspiring thirty minutes of trying to work out which were steps and which was retaining wall, we resolved to try it from a different direction. Slightly easier scrambling and a successful conclusion. Love the camouflage which was a new one for me. Jimmy fretted all the way and was very happy to be back on level ground.
Thanks so much for the cache Barry's Owner, took nothing, left nothing, signed the log and rescued the traveller.

While at Merewether Beach today, we thought we might take a quick walk up the hill and have a go at this cache. We intended to do this one as our 200th back in May but didn't get around to it so we have returned 134 caches later. It wasn't a particularly hard find, but it did take longer than it should have. We enjoyed the views from GZ! TFTC!
Awesome spot to hide a cache! Did not even know this trail existed. Totally came in from the wrong direction though.
Tftc. WOW!! Parking was at a premium today as the weather was very warm and being school holidays. The start of the path was easily found, but geez, it was overgrown!! We must have taken 6 wrong turns, found 2 home-made medicinal marijuana smoking implements and disturbed countless four-legged reptiles sunning themselves. But the views and the cache made it worthwhile. Took (hopefully) a selfie (as requested) and completed signing duties.

Parked up top within 13m of GZ. Found a well hidden trail in & remembered reading a log which gave us a clue to the general location & then started looking for the hint. Nice camo! FP awarded for a fantastic view & thoughtful camo. SL TNLN Congratulations & TFTC Barry's Owner

I have been here a couple of times but my GPS wouldn't settle and i couldn't find it. Speaking to a recent finder they asked if i saw another thing up there near the cache. I hadn't so made sure i found that this time then soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
GZ checked today! All is well and geocache still intact and present The path is slightly overgrown, but definite accessible. Watch for wildlife Happy Caching
Found with my boys and BillHill531 on a morning out geocaching. This was out third stop. Our second stop was a revisit to secret garden so BillHill could claim the find. Now it was my turn as he had done this one before. He stayed up the top with the kids while I went in. I climbed down too far and was soon on the rock itself. Then back to the tap and made the find. I hid it better then I found it. I left a big diamond my son had taken from the last geocache.
Thanks for the walk, views and cache!

Didn't find. Walk around in the trails and scrub for a good half hour. Couldn't find anything. Found multiple possible places though.

A long search aided by PamJ the boss at the end, nearly resulted in divorce as I held everybody up. Probably not the desired consequence of this cache. I got FTF on a similar one in New Zealand near Aoraki /Mount Cook.

Sadly after a tremendous amount of effort and Rock climbing had to give up will try again in the summer months. TFTH
After 30 minutes of waiting around for a teenage couple to stop their makeout session I has to abandon this one. Found the pathway but couldn't get to the spot without muggles.
Nice sunny day to grab a cache or two. We initially parked right at the top then decided to drive to the bottom. Much closer to track but meant we had to reverse back down the road to get out as there is no turning room. A pleasant climb up the track. What a gem of a place for a cache. Good coords had me at GZ for a quick find with really well made cammo. TNLNSL. Thanks Barry's Owner, gets a fav from us.
Found the path and general vicinity but no cache. We did find this blue plastic box. Could this be it post-muggling?
I wasn't sure about this one. I started at the top and then made my way down to the bottom. Scratched my head a little and then spotted the trail and started climbing back up.
Soon had the cash in hand and log signed along with a selfie.

I bush bashed my way there, and as I was approaching, I noticed some-one scavenging around, thinking that I might meet another cacher, but disappeared before I got there. I found a over grown path to follow, and soon got to GZ. After a little while I noticed something out of place and found and signed the log, also a selfy, hope they all turn out OK. Found an easier way out. TFTC
Had a look yesterday (Sunday) but too many people in the carpark so went back today - only a girl doing her exercises on a mat at the lookout. Then down to the trackhead, up the path to find the cache - out in the open and a wet outer container. Empty out the water, cover the cache and a quick exit up a more direct root. Congrats on your engagement - may it be a marriage made in heaven.
Find No: 5476. Picked up a long-lost friend from Vienna this morning in Sydney and took him for a drive around the beaches, came across this one on the way and introduced him to "geopicking" (as he calls it), looked from the top, the side and the bottom and worked our way to this neat cache, found the easy way out later of course, gets a favorite, thanks for the cache Barry's Owner!!
Tried for this one today
Had to give up and plan a trip back
Zero phone coverage below the hill ( thanks Vodafone)
