Out of town on a caching mission with Kiwi Does Stuff, made a plan for the few days up in Auckland and hit the road. Making our way back to Rotorua through Huntly and grabbing some quick park and grabs along the way. Night caching looking for coal caches is always interesting. A quick find nevertheless, TFTC!

As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip.

Cachehilsen fra Ellen Sch, NorgeMe and MrV sr have come down to Australia and New Zealand, -an old dream has finally come to an end. Team Eika and Ingsve have also traveled with us on this trip.We have been traveling cross-country for a month, and the goal is to end up in Adeleide and mega-event on the leap year. We have especially looked for old caches, to fill jasmer'n, for a couple of pieces, and for the other two of us who have started to think about reviewing more. The vast majority of them showed up at their places, sometimes we had to search a bit, but we were usually lucky in the end. There were also some DNFs.We have mostly logged in with the common nickname N4 (ingsve, Von sr. TeamEika and Ellen Sch), but our own nicknames are also used.A big thank you to all you CO's for laying out and maintaining your caches. Without their work, we would never have been able to make a living with this hobby.Always nice to have a new smiley face on the map.Cache greetings from Ellen Sch, Norway

Despite being early in the day there was a bit of activity in the main street this morning, but it was mainly muggles in search of coffee and breakfast so fortunately GZ was deserted.
We were trying to juggle the completion of some Adventure Labs with finding some traditional caches so were jumping back and forth between apps and it was becoming quite a lesson in multitasking.
This is a really nice spot and it does indeed have a coal view.
The GPS was spot on and we very quickly located the cache.
Now off to continue our exploration of Huntly.
TFTC.

Last year, Team SEAC members went on a road trip down to Cambridge to clear out as many of the caches in that town and its surrounding areas. On the way home from that trip, we stopped off in Huntly to do the night cache. After completing the night cache, we vowed to come back to Huntly and grab as many of the caches in that area as we could. Today was that day.

Indeed a very high muggle area, but luckily today with it being a public holiday weekend, there was nobody around. We started our search of the two objects and kept searching and searching. We theorized where it might be, and searched some more. Then just as most of us were getting ready to call it a DNF, someone finally found what we were looking for. Satisfaction.

The log was signed as Team SEAC in order to preserve log space.

23-Oct-22
Labour Weekend has historically been a minimum 3 day Team SEAC all out adventure so a little while ago I started planning some fun for us. After a walking day yesterday, today was a driving one and more about the numbers and clearing out an area we have had our eyes on for a while. Ended up being a massive day (left home around 8.30am and got home at 1:40am!)....it wasn't called a Mega Mysterious Weekend for nothing. Enjoyed the fun with friends...just like the 'old' times.

Am sure I have similar pictures of the movements we were making today trying to find this cache. The sun was heating up and we were writhing around on the ground searching and searching. I found a spoiler photo and wondered how we were managing to miss it when suddenly someone found it - its not the same as the spoiler photo but is still large in comparison to what I was looking for!

Thanks for the cache

23-Oct-22
Took a while. But we got it.

---

Out with Team Seac for another day of adventures. We did a full day of caching on the Saturday with a long hike! And decided to head down to Huntly for the day. I really enjoyed my time around here, and would like to come back again. Some us finished at 10pm, some finished at 1amish!

Sorry for the generic logs. Thank you for taking the time to place this cache.

Out with KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, NZTravellers, LiverKiwi, NurseDr. All logs signed “Team Seac” or similar to save log paper.

Took a bit of grovelling around by all of team SEAC but finally located. Out for a long weekend day trip with team SEAC. TFTC.

We parked up for the night close by and headed into "town" for takeaways. While it was being prepared we wandered over to look for this cache. There was no one around (they were all queuing at the Burger Bar) so it was all clear to get on hands and knees to look. Thanks for the placement MCC.

We ate our takeaways by the river and came back past here after and decided to have a look despite the DNFs logged here. GAR found the cache container after a bit of looking and we can log a Find! Nice after having logged some DNFs myself this morning on caches than had previously been found easily enough. We were lucky that there wasn't anyone around this evening. Thanks for placing McCutchan Cache Clan, a lovely view here today.

A nice quick find thanks. We've een here before, Huntly is a lot quieter these days.

Ms_KR and I are on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland for our family Christmas. Today we cruised around some of the Waikato on the way home. Please excuse the generic logs, there have been a few finds and they get muddled up sometimes.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Day 2 of some of us South Island cachers hitting the area around Auckland. Today was going to be something to remember as heading down to GC45... excited much?!!? Nabbed that then the X's, a trip through Rotorua picking up a variety of caches. Off back to Auckland now and a stop for dinner in Huntly at the local curry house. Night had fallen which made this a tricky find,
fumbling around in the dark. Got it after a pretty thorough search by all. tftc

Night caching, as in after dark
A quick find after visiting the tribute cache, and Rotorua, we decided to stop here for dinner, and a few more caches.
In lieu of Akld Mega 2020, we decided a side trip to the new tribute cache (to GC45) was in order. Travelling with South Island cachers, we found a number of caches including this one.
We have typically signed as mrandmrschosen1978 or occasionally MM78.

24-Oct-20
Visiting North Island from Otago as I still had my flights etc all booked last Christmas for what was going to be the Mega Weekend. Joined up with the Southland Geocachers (MrandMrsChosen1978, Wombat_4, NZBozzy, Kiscardi, Mrs Hazzer, Tregram and I) formed the Southern Raiders to have a Mega time caching in Auckland and Rotorua.

Day 2 - 6.30am start and 10.30pm back at hotel. Today the aim was to get to the GC45 plaque. A great day trip and some really good caches found, some old DNFs avenged and lots of new caching memories made.

Heading back to Auckland now and we stopped here for dinner and ooh some lab caches, so we talked a walk around after dark to do these and picking up caches along the way.

***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

12-Jul-20
Was doing an adventure lab series here so grabbed this along the way. Knew from previous logs which side, and the geo sense was strong today. So when i reached for it, my hand went straight on it. Woohoo! Few muggles about today. TFTC!

04-Jul-20
I was invited out with tramyard and Gorby to do 6 adventure labs in Ngaruawahia, Huntly and Hamilton. We found a few other caches along the way and ended up with a bonus adventure lab which was released while we were out and about, for a total of 46 finds including 7 adventure labs.

I had attempted to find this cache awhile ago, but there were too many muggles around. Tonight there were only a couple of people passing by and after a few moments, the coast was clear. I checked a few spots before spying the cache. Happy to get this one finally

Ren138(nuk04) Geo Roady Birthday Part 2...

My phone took me to the nearby seat. I hunted for anything magnetic but nothing held a cache. Read the description and tried the side with the most privacy first. Voila! Squeezed my name sideways on the log. A very apt hide for Huntly, thanks Smile

#11,558. A little exploration of Garden Place on Main Street in Huntly. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache itself was in good condition, but the logbook was damp and full. Just managed to find some space to sign. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …
