It took quite a while to get all the required info for this cache, but we found it alright. It was a lovely stroll around the park, and a good chance to remember those who lost their lives while defending Australia in the face of war. A great cache. TFTC 2ystassies!

Today after shifting camp sites from Turners Beach to Ulverstone we headed to the CITO and event and to collect some more caches in Ulverstone.Ive been busy trying to solve puzzles so had a few of them on the agenda as well as some must dos (Angus and Mary Mac).We found about 12 caches and had a splendid day out.Met Happy Feet whilst trying to collect all the info for this one (was at the last WP) we combined info and the cache was found soon after. We have been impressed with all the war memorial parks in Ulverstone, so interesting with lots of info. On my fantastic family holiday to beautiful Tassie with TT016, PrincessAria1 & LittleG00sE.

We were on our way from Sheffield to Stanley today. We stopped here for a snack & to stretch our legs.

We decided we would do this Multi-cache in this lovely park. We walked around collecting all the figures. We went to GZ and after an extensive search we were unable to locate the cache so we resorted to contacting the CO. We discovered we were 1 digit out in our calculations, being 10m out. Once we had the right numbers, the cache was located quickly, signed & replaced as found.

TFTC and the assistance 2y'stassies Smile

12-Jan-23
We enjoyed the wander around the park. Took a while to location the geocache. After a call to CO, we discovered our lack of math skills. We were looking about 10m out. Lol. After fixing our error, the cache was quickly located and signed. Found with hevwalker, princess aria, and little goose. TFTC!

Thank you for an awesome, fun and informative cache.
Thoroughly enjoyed getting the required info and learning a little more about naval history. My housemate tagged along to see what caching was all about, and has enjoyed himself.
With the equations all worked out, and the final co ords typed in, off we set for the cache. Once at gz, the cache was quickly in hand, sadly before signing the log, I had to remove a couple of pages from the log book. This was due to homophobic slurs, profanity and some other vulgar things.
Took a little star sticker.

01-Jan-23
Wow what a cool cache! That was fun and educational thanks

01-Jan-23
Great cache, took us to places in the park we’d never had seen if it wasn’t for this cache. Given I live near Ulverstone myself, it was super nice to come back to a place I’ve been to many, many times with new eyes.

26-Dec-22
got the coords but no cache found Sad. maybe it was moved or maybe i just looked in the wrong spot. either way it was a good search around the park for all the numbers

16-Oct-22
We had a great time collecting info and wandering around this park. Even the oldest kiddo who no longer geocaches helped out. GPS was a little jumpy (assuming because of clouds but really I’m clueless ) had us turning around in circles in the middle of the park. A quick check of all our coords and with the same numbers we tried again and soon had a super fast find. TFTC

Completed and found with LittleBoo17 and CachecrewJack

We've been to this spot several times but never had chance to visit all the waypoints before in order to work out the cache. Today we were in town and decided to give this cache a go. It was chucking it down but that didn't deter us! (Although we went back to the warm & dry car to work out GZ). The sums were eventually done, we decided to brave the rain, and thankfully a fairly quick find was had before returning to the comfort of the car. TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

Thanks for the multi 2y'stassies.
In the northwest for a couple of days with the two GeoGSP's.
Thought I'd have a go at this multi, I've been to this area lots of times looking for caches, so I was keen to collect the info for this one. Not all the info was straightforward to find, had to really look for it, but all gathered, and then we made our way to GZ and found the cache. All is well at GZ.

17-Jan-22
A nice early morning explore with the kids. Now for a beach walk and an icecream. Thanks for your work!

27-Sep-21
Had an attempt at this before but I think the cache may have been AWOL on that occasion. Today with ChrisWhite62 the tour of the park was made and the cache found.

We were in the area to search for the new GeoArt series and this was on our radar to complete while here, having been here gathering information for another cache before we knew where to go to gather the required information. after doing some quick caculations it was off to GZ,
while searching at GZ this was found by KjStarr as i was looking at the wrong end of the log. TFTC

Out again today to grab a few Ulvie caches we missed on Australia Day because of the presence of high levels of muggles ! Much better today with an uncomfortable easterly wind blowing in. Having obtained the necessary information to solve the 'Pioneers Series' it was a good opportunity to log them all at once. HOWEVER, next on our travel route was this one, which we have visited on numerous occasions with no result. Having seen that maintenance and repositioning has since occurred, we plucked up courage to search once again. And Voila! there it was ! With accurate co-ords and a useful and accessible hiding hole. Thankyou for the Shropshire Park multi-cache. We did enjoy the research, for which you deserve a favourite.

04-Dec-20
Since we last checked this cache, there has been considerable vegetation growth and what was quite accessible is now very difficult to find - much more than intended. We have relocated the hide and replaced the container. It is now a cammoed 200mL sistema. The coordinates are slightly different as is the hint.

Adjust your final calculations by: S +0.004 E -0.002
Refer to the new hint.

15-Oct-20
It is still there - it is hard to find.

10-Oct-20
Very hard

24-Sep-20
I love turning a blue face into a smiley! Went back to this one this afternoon. The CO had very kindly confirmed by coordinates were accurate - which meant the problem last night was my looking skills rather than my calculations. Even knowing I was in the right spot, this was a tough one to find - very crafty hide. TFTC and for all the caches in the area that keep me entertained whenever I'm in the area

23-Sep-20
Really enjoyed wandering around the lark, learning some history and picking up the clues. It got darker as I worked out the final coordinates and I couldn’t find the cache. Think I have the right location. Will have to come back to this another time

18-Jul-20
Found it finally on my second look. Tricky little cache and I needed a few hints to find it.

11-Mar-20
Did the "hard" but interesting yards on this one including the maths. Got to GZ with I am sure accurate co-ords. But Alas ! DNF. However we did find the lid of what we assume is the original sistema marked GC6YX8O "Exploring Shropshire Park" So can we claim half a find, 2y'stassies ?

11-Mar-20
T he cache had gone missing but was replaced on 18 February 2020. The lid found by rhubarbroad today was part of the old cache container which we didn't find. To log a find on this cache, the new cache (a bison tube) must be found and the logbook signed.

19-Feb-20
We thoroughly enjoyed being reacquainted with this park & the history surrounding it. Not much has changed here in the last 20 years & we are so happy that’s the case!

Thanks 2y’stassies for all your effort in creating this cache & maintaining it. The new cache is very unlikely to be muggled!

A favourite from us

18-Feb-20
We received a message that despite searching for some time and having the right coordinates (confirmed by us), the cache could not be found. We went today and confirmed that the cache was missing, well at least in part. It had obviously been muggled as we found some parts of the cache scattered in the bushes but we didn't retrieve sufficient to reinstate that cache. So we have replace the cache with a bison hidden in a location which would make it very unlikely to be found by accident. The coordinates remain the same but the size and hint have been updated.

Good multi ... beautiful park and lots muggles there.. Found with 63Roos.. thanks

Second attempt as re checking all counts, accompanied ALL7.. short walked to GZ, aware cache was show on ground..
Signed in with good dry..
thanks for great enjoy muilt .. TFTC Smile

24-Sep-19
Checked this one this morning and it was indeed missing, apparently the casualty of a cleanup. A replacement container has been put in place so ready to go again. Thanks for the alert to the problem Membsec.

All ready to go again.

23-Sep-19
Heading to King Island later today and we decided to do a few caches on the way to the airport. We loved this multi, which probably took longer to do than normal as we got carried away with all the info. We did the maths and GZ looked promising so off we went in search of a container! We looked and looked and we did our calculations again, even went back to check we had written everything down correctly. Couldn’t see a mistake and went back again to GZ, expanded our searching area but nothing. We rang the CO who said our coords are correct and gave us a better hint of GZ....but nothing. We have been given permission to log and the CO will check it out. If they find the container and we were cache blind then we will delete our log!

TFT multi and a favourite point from us!

Bringing the trackables for a tour around town.

Found this cache while in Ulverstone meeting a legend of Tasmanian caching. It was great to catch up with Sirius and chew the fat.

Thanks for the meeting point today

Our last day in northern Tassie we cached along the coast east from Goat Island to Don. We found a great variety of caches, learnt about the history of the area and enjoyed the brilliant coastal views while managing to dodge the showers. Trees to shelter under and have lunch before exploring this amazing park. A number of the highlighted events we remembered from times gone by.
Another great Tassie multi.

Thanks to '2y'stassies' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

While Mrs Beetle took the geomutts down to the beach for a run Mr Beetle gathered the information needed to calculate the whereabouts of this one.
Then a combined effort was made with the maths and a short walk soon had us at a likely location, where the container was quickly found.
Great day to be out and about and a geocache find was a bonus.
Thanks.

31-Jan-19
It appears that a signwriter (authorised) has been active and has corrected an error in the data at one location. The formula for calculating the coordinates for the cache have been corrected to reflect the change. Thanks Fnsaws for helping us to identify the discrepancy.

29-Jan-19
Went back this morning with some extra information, found it quickly. Very interesting memorial to our navy. Thanks for bringing us here, favorite point from us. TFTC

26-Jan-19
After completing the sister GCA cache we located the slightly different information for this one and soon had the cache in hand. Nice multi.

19-Jan-19
This one took a bit of time to gather all the required info and a basic mathematical error had us miles away. Recalculation soon had us at the right location. and cache was found without too much ado in the logical place. Very interesting building with the firepit. TFTC.

12-Jan-19
After wandering around this park last night doing the required research, until I couldn’t stagger any further, and with one piece of information still required, we retired to our accommodation to recover and work out the coordinates. Mr Google came to my assistance and the final piece of the puzzle was resolved. But the answer had us in far eastern Tasmania and I knew that was incorrect.
Returning this afternoon after a lovely lunch with wonderful friends at Pier 01, where I checked all my research to be correct, but not so with my arithmetic, we finally had an answer which looked much more feasible.
A short walk later and the log had our signatures added.
This memorial park is a wonderful tribute to the sadness of war and the dedication of brave souls who have made the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the marvellous lives we have.
Thank you for bringing us here and sharing the knowledge with us.

31-Dec-18
Today we explored the North West area and enjoyed our journey to this cache.

A straight forward multi, enjoyed reading the history of the area and made a quick find at GZ and adding to our favourites.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

30-Dec-18
While in the area we visited this lovely memorial park again. Coords were calculated and a quick find was made. TFTM

30-Dec-18
We did the GCA multi quite some time ago but were back today to complete the GC one. There was one question we struggled with although we spotted some information that worked out and an online check confirmed this so we were good to go.
The cache was found quickly just as it was getting dark. Thanks for another multi in this wonderful park.

22-Dec-18
Excellent cache with Twilight2609. TFTC.

22-Dec-18
Great cache...thank you very much for another great Ulverstone cache. With squirrel house.

Tassie Trip Day 11 - Whilst staying in ulverston we decided a more restfull day was needed to catch up on some logging and some puzzle solving in a caravan park we staying at has FREE WiFi was a prerfect opportunity to go to the camp kitchen and take over a table for a few hours of puzzle solving and log writing.

This was a great cache and with the information obtained about a wide range of our navel fleet it was soon decided that a well thought out cache was comming up. However my maths was letting me down having substituted the numbers in the various position and caclulation the information it had me some distance beyond a short walk away so applied a little cache logic and the booty was soon in hand.

Thanks 2y'stassies for this very enlightenigh cache for us to find today.

09-Sep-18
On a trip to Ulverstone for a cache run, and catch up with good friends. We called in for this cache and its GCA sister cache.
Both multi's and two of the most informative and interesting ones we have done in a while.
Took us a little while to do both but loved them both.
Thanks for the caches. Fav from us.

27-May-18
What a great area, I enjoyed reading all the history may not have got all my answers correct so had some help from the CO. So back to enjoy the area again. Thanks for the hide that took me awhile to find but a photo shared help me find it. Was a very overcast day so had trouble with the GPS.

08-May-18
Woohoo gathered all the requirements for this multi & worked out the math. Loved the world globe tftc was pretty straight forward for people who usually struggle with these!!

08-May-18
Found it. Nice informative cache!

Our first multicache. Didn't take as long as we thought to collect clues. TFTC

Hi there 2y'stassies.

We found your cache **"Exploring Shropshire Park"** at 1:09:00 PM today. (This makes our grand total 18913).

We are camped near Ulverstone for the night, before heading further west. We thoroughly enjoyed our drive around the town today, especially as our GPS has finally acclimatised itself to Tasmanian conditions - and we were able to log caches that we had previously DNF'd. We ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes, and our find count was 6 caches today, with 2 DNF's.

Thanks for placing the cache here. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

While wandering around the towne today,
I wandered past this memorable park Smile
Wow !!
There is a lot of information on display,
and a lot of information to be gathered to find this cache [^]

This sort of info is what I like to learn more about !! Smile
A lot of it sounded so familiar from previous geocaches I have chased around the country.
Yet I learned a lot more about our naval history I didn't know about [:o]

With a lot of wandering,
reading and searching,
and a lot of 'I never knew that' moments later,
I had a pile of numbers to do something with Smile

What was really interesting about gathering the numbers,
was what happened at the globe ...
... a mum was explaining to her teenage daughter where mum's grandfather fought in the battle for the Pacific [:o]
And pointing out all the battle sites on the globe. Smile

Something that made me realise why these memorials are so important Smile
They provide a real connection for many people to relatives who died in conflicts overseas.
Sure I've visited hundreds of these memorials,
but never witnessed somebody else taking such an interest Big Grin

Me own grandfather fought in WWII,
in Europe as a paratrooper,
but never ever spoke a word about it [:o]
So that is all I know Razz

With the numbers crunched,
I wandered over to GZ for a memorable cache find [^]

TFTC and history !!

Fave dance time !! Big Grin

Ventured out in the gale force winds to get a few caches.
Loved this multi.
TFTC 2y'stassies.

25-Jan-18
Mum and I were out caching for the day and after doing the series we thought we would go and do a multi for something different! I really liked this and the education behind navy history! TFTC

17-Jan-18
Having a rest day today, after 10 days straight of some type of bushwalking. I'd still not come into Ulverstone itself. Today I thought I'd visit the town centre for a cuppa and a wonder along the river and beach front. What a relaxing place this is and I thoroughly enjoyed gathering the information, which was all well laid out. The maths caused no problems here and soon I found myself at GZ and had a nicely concealed container in hand.

09-Jan-18
Great park there. There are some tricky maths in it - nothing that a genius like myself and clogs on fire can't handle! TFTC

09-Jan-18
What a fantastic multi, really enjoyed walking around this park. How much history can tucked into this little place. Thankyou to 2y'stassies for this cache

01-Jan-18
What a fabulous memorial park. I had an informative wander around this morning. Left a PT. TFTC

28-Nov-17
On the way back from finding the moveable caches to nab this cache. Cache is all ok...hard to believe the original was muggled.
Enjoyed the info gathering...many TFTC 2y'stassies...cheers ST.

26-Nov-17
We have replaced the cache in the same location. If this one goes missing we will have to change the location of the hide and adjust the formula for the coordinates accordingly. please take care with muggles and covering the container.

25-Nov-17
We have arrived back in Tassie and checked on this one and it is missing. Will get a replacement out in the next day or two.

21-Nov-17
Hi there 2y'stassies.

This is the 4th of 5 caches we didn't find today. Twisted[:(!]

We spent quite some time here at around 12:16:00 PM. We got a dodgey figure for east (148) and figured this to be incorrect. Using some logic we workked out what it should be and headed off to what we thought would be GZ, but we just couldn't locate your cache, so here's a DNF from us. Twisted

As the previous log says, there is only one spot that fits the hint but hey, our logic could be wrong

Regards
Ian and Penny

03-Nov-17
Only one spot fitting the hint near gz, but no cache to be found. Cheers ST.

08-Oct-17
I noticed some chairs in the middle of the park - mmm why are they there. I got all the required information, found a piece of rubbish that I could write on to work out the co- ordinates, calculated final GZ. Looked up and saw 2 buses stop in the carpark- surely they aren't coming here now!! Yes - they piled out and milled around the park. GZ was surrounded by tens of muggles. So much work and with no reward. My ride arrived and I had to leave before the hordes of people boarded the bus. I will be back as there are several geocaches in the area I am yet to find but have calculated GZ!

02-Oct-17
