Logs
I don't think this cache is currently accessible due to railway line repairs after cyclone Gabrielle.
We continued on around to this cache, watching the remote controlled aeroplanes over the paddock.
It took a bit of a search to find, with the area being fairly overgrown, but we got there in the end.
Great area for a stroll.
Thanks for setting this up

Great morning out in the Bay, going back towards dog park to pick up one a visitor was sitting on
Debated climbing gate but after reading previous logs guessed it was ok. Cache found container is broken but contents in good condition tftc
todays caching trip was to sunny Napier.
squirrel Nutcase and I left Rotorua at 4.02am
good drive down with very little traffic on the road.
plan was to make a sweep around city ,down towards Hastings back through Taradale and back to Rotorua tonight. we arrived back just before 10 pm with several caches ticked off.
we worked out where the best place was to access this cache.
we were able to park less than a 100 meters away from gz.
yes lid is broken but contents dry.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… In an effort to smash the next level of the ‘Reach the Peak’ challenge, we pre planned this little road trip weeks ago. To get a jump on the day, we were on our way at precisely 4:02 AM. With little traffic to contend with, we were able to hit the ground running well before 7:00AM…
We took the easy trek to this one - Gap parked the car and we walked over. There was a small challenge of navigating a couple of fences, but nothing too strenuous. The hint and coordinates narrowed search options right down to one spot. As noted - lid broken, contents fine… Thanks Jodiporsche and TFTC.

A little bit of bush crashing, barbed wire fence climbing and predator trap dodging soon had me in the vicinity. Easily found with the hint. Although the top on the container is broken, the cache was dry, which surprised me after the rain we had last night. The trip back to the car was a little unorthodox, but made it safe and sound. Good walk. TFTC
Prepare to climb a gate and search through long grass Glad the teenage lad had his hunting face on
Found cache. Bucket broken and cintents spilled out in ground, pucked up and placed backnin bucket but did not have a replacement bucket to replace container. Thanks for the hide
Braved the clouds of bugs to reach this one! Nice walk though. Pot is damaged but the log is in good shape. Greetings from Wellington and TFTC.
We went were no man has gone before and where I wouldn't have ventured had it not been for Geocaching.
Passed all the gates and followed the track down to GZ. After some searching the cache was found. The container is cracked and the lid will not fit on.
Staying the weekend at Te Awanga as Mrs Rubbishparty is playing her flute in a Mother’s Day concert. Today! Still had time for an early morning cycle ride and collect some smiley faces. Initially challenged by all the potential hiding spots then thought more about the hint and got it. TFTC
Quick find. The lid had come off and the contents were strewn about. Made sure the ild was secured this time.
We continued the walk around the edge of the wetlands, with the cattle which had been around the start having now disappeared into the distance. Interestingly a model aircraft, looking like a spitfire, was flying around above us as we walked along. We followed the trail down from the gate, and after searching around a couple of the wrong type of trees, soon found the cache. The lid wasn't on securely, but the cache was dry. We managed to get most of the lid on properly, although it was quite difficult. TFTC
This is my third find in this area. I walked from the 'William Colenso' cache to this cache by crossing the very busy highway. Once near GZ there was a bit of head scratching as to where GZ actually was but after hopping a couple of fences I was hot on the trail and soon I was signing the log.

Wasn't certain whether or not to venture over the closed gates into this area, but 2 workman turned up and went in, so I followed. Found cache. Thanks for placing it here.
More pukeko all over the track.
A great little walk but had to return the same way as to continue on we would have had to swim part of it as there has been heaps of rain recently.

Enjoyed a trek around the birds today. Read the hint and looked around - cache was found quickly. Good coordinates. Tftc.
Mum and Dad had 3 girls on the task today - 6YO and cousins 5YO and 7YO. These girls LOVE caching (especially 7YO cousin!).
The girls were super-keen to find this cache, however with many possum and rodent stations around, Mum was keen not to hang around searching (as the girls were touching them!)

Found it. Took a while to find it, but just as I was about to give up found it.TFTC
In Taradale for an Dahlia Show. Found some caches before heading back to Palmerston North. Thanks RainbowJordy for the cache.
First Geocaching expedition after a reasonable absence from the 'sport'.
4th one on our days' list.
Swelteringly hot but we got there in the end.
Good hint.

Great spot. Had no idea about this trail. We would see the water from the road, but it's great that there is a path and bird blind! It is a great birdwatching area. Thanks for placing the cache. We had to chuckle about the statement about the "obvious path". It is really overgrown now, so the path is definitely no longer obvious. For anyone going out there, don't go down the steep bit to the left, where you see the yellow bucket and animal traps.
Was a bit worried because of date of last log and everything is very overgrown, watch out for the animal traps and spider nurseries
Had a lovely walk around the wetlands, a lot birds were about enjoying the sun. Quick find, cache and log good condition. Cheers

nechápu sice, proč je za zamčenou bránou, ale našli jsme hned... moc hezké prostředí na to, že je hned vedle hlavní cesty

Quite overgrown but not too hard to get to cache.

Another quick find with great coords.
Thanks for another Hawkes Bay smilie. Better think about getting back to motel...... soon.
All good at GZ. Dry log etc.

Of course I continued on along the skinny track to the other side of this wetlands area and this cache. I was shocked (literally) to work out where it was. Beware the electric fence which zapped me as I pondered my next move while leaning on it ! This gets a fav. from me for reminding me what I will do in pursuit of the elusive cache and for being a little known super birdwatching area.
another place we never would have visited if not for geocaching, thanks for making us come here.
After finding the first cache in the area, I wandered around here to the second. This particular day the wind was howling, and the water looked amazing as the wind blew patterns on it. Nice to see lots of healthy cabbage trees here.. they are one of my favourites!
Cache was quickly found after I read the hint. Container didnt appear very waterproof, and the log was not in a bag or anything, so not sure if it will last very long when it rains. might need checking on in the near future.
Thanks for bringing me here, and thanks for another cache.

This was a little more tricky, we decided not to go around - we would of if the kids were with us. But took a short cut, great hide, well camouflaged. Picked up TB. Many thanks jodiporsche !
As I was staying in Erikson Rd and there were a few caches nearby I thought I would try out an electric bike. What an effortless way to get a bit of "exercise"[:o)][B)].
I continued on around the track to this one on my bike.
Cheers for the cache.

A quick stop off on our way home from napier. We did take the short cut to get to this one!! Nicely tucked away container. Thanks for these new caches. Log signed b&p. Find number 4185.
Thanks for the cache Jodiporsche.

Nice walk around the side. Great spot that I have never been to before. Took a bit to find but got there in the end. FTF, 3rd for the day. TFTC
