We have travelled from Sydneys Northern Beaches to Lithgow for a short (four day) caching holiday, staying for three nights in a park cabin at the Lithgow Tourist & Van Park. Planning on exploring areas around Hartley, Bowenfels, Marrangaroo, Lithgow, Clarence, Newnes Junction, and Dargan, with a pre-booked visit to the Zig Zag Railway on Saturday morning, and a visit to the Glow Worm Tunnel at Newnes on Sunday.Hoping to collect some previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, a SideTracked MultiCache, and some of the many Traditional & Multi caches that have appeared since our last visit to the area in 2015. Will be stopping at Mount Victoria and Blackheath, on Mondays return journey to Sydney, for some more previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches and a five stage Adventure Lab, and maybe an EarthCache. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base.Today (day 4) we are on the journey homeward, but stopped off for some caches along the way. After collecting the final GZ cache for a MultiCache we grabbed some Traditionals on a drive out to Mount York, then a few more caches around Mount Victoria, before heading to Blackheath for a five stage Adventure Lab and a visit to the Victory Theatre Antique Centre. After grabbing a bite for lunch we continued homeward, with one final cache stop at Bulls Camp (between Woodford & Linden) to avenge a previous DNF, where the cache had subsequently been confirmed as missing & replaced. This was the 3rd of 15 finds for the day (day 4), and 34th find of the holiday. This one was next, parking the geomobile close to the cache on the side of busy Victoria Pass, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced the well constructed cache as found. It blends in really well. Ned's also a good bit of construction. TFTC Bert & Ammiviiccc.Find #7111

It was a bit cold for the rest of the family to head out this afternoon, so Samuel and I headed out with a handful of caches planned, 'we'll turn around when we run out of light' as we went....
One last one! It was now pretty dark, and pretty cold at 3 degrees, but we were going past, and were comforted by the description of the parking area at GZ - otherwise we would have thought 'fat chance' of us stopping here....
We should have read the description better, as we checked that damn helmet several times before I extended a tad up the hill and spotted something just a little out of place.... the log is pretty full, and needs replacing, we did scrawl a '737' ini there though..... TFTC!

After running out of caches to do on our list, we headed down the mountain to this one and nabbed a few others in the area, nice spot in the freezing cold! Grabbed this one on the way up the mountain heading back, it was almost dark and about 3 degrees outside so it took a while but we eventually found it...

Great construction of the cache! Got honked from someone when stopping even in a safe place!
Day 3. No 18 for the day on our Geo Adventure to the Blue Mountains. Good hint. This was found by my Geo Companion Mystic Seer who has a very keen and sharp eye. A very sneaky hide indeed, very well done. Love it.
With the Admin duties sorted it was replaced as found. Now a Favorite.
Thanks goes to the CO for this Cache.

Found with Chippyddd on Day 3 mission - Blue Mountains NSW caches. Lots of rain today. Hint is very useful for a sneaky hide. It's all in the hint. Parking available on side if road but if you blink you'll miss it.No room for SWAPS or drops. Both cache and logbook are dry. SL TFTC TFTH. Replaced cache as found ready for the next cacher. Thanks and cache on.

Headed to the Blue Mountains for the weekend with the family, and today we decided to get out and find a few nearby caches. This was a great little cache which the kids enjoyed finding.

Found the cache and paid our respects at the memorial. So sorry for the loss of your mate. A different but fitting memorial. We were surprised by evidence of the accident in the valley a decade on. RIP Shed.

Looked for this once before and this time it was just so obvious I wondered why I missed it
on an earlier search.

Found it on our second look and I cannot believe that I actually found it the first time and due to my inexperience did not know I was looking at. Very cool cache!! TFTC!!
Tftc. Really like clever ones like this, more knowledge for the caching toolkit.
After spending yesterday crawling through Tuglow cave, today was the slow and weary trip back home. With sore muscles and bruises, climbing out and back in the car several times to find a trail of caches was exhausting.
Ive passed this one several times, forgetting about stopping until after going too far. Glad i remembered today..
Thanks for the cache.

Out for a few caches which have gone down since we were here last. Took nothing left nothing, Cache all good, good coordinates. 43 for the day. TFTC
Found with viaggio0001. I saw this on the map when I had been caching with WaywardWoman a few weeks ago. Today heading home with viaggio0001 after doing some caching, we pulled up in the parking space. Got to GZ and looked over Ned. After working out where it wasnt we widened our search. Resorted to a paf who sent us back where we were looking before. Found it... how did we miss that. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
I don't know how many times I've driven past here in both directions and never noticed 'Ned'. TFTC
What an interesting cache! I don't know how many thousands of times I've driven past this and never noticed it. I'll keep a lookout from now on.
A very creative cache and a great name! Worth a favourite point. TFTC Bert & Ammiviiccc.

Apologies for the late log but I just found a heap of unpublished logs in my draft notes.

Another cache we have always ignored cause we were always passing bye, today we stopped and grabbed it easily, nice hide and interesting memorial.
The last GC cache today completed – the weather was turning on me so headed home a little early than usual – what a top spot – you drive past so many times & you don’t see it – loved it – thanks - TFTC / TFTH / SL

Found by Mary & David at 1315. Reminded us of Ned and his exploits in Victoria and around June and Jerilderie. We have enjoyed many caches in his name. Those sandstone cliffs could only be in NSW. Interested in the convict history too. A FP. Our thanks to Bert & Ammiviiccc.
Stopped by the side of the road, to some annoyance for the cars trailing close behind us. Soon found GZ, and realised what half of the name alluded to. Then it was just the second half. Checked a number of possible things, before finally we found it, where we had looked once already (isn't that often the case?)
A quick find as we were passing by after a fun weekend up on Newnes Plateau. TFTC

What a great cache! Also my 150th find! Nice to tick that one off one New Years Day! I’ll give it a favourite point while I’m at it! SL TFTC!
I’ve just spent a few days in Bathurst working and I’m now heading back home to Sydney and thought I’d collect a few caches on the way.
I had to time the turn out to the breakdown lane because if you overshoot it there is a lot of rig marole to get back. The cache name clearly states where GZ is when you get there. However don’t disturb the memorial it’s not there.
I must say a very cleverly disguised cache, that definitely deserves a Fav point.
Last cache before making the B Line home.
I’ve had a hiatus from caching and just getting back into it again and needing to get my logs up to date and get my find count sorted.
Find: 528
10th of 10 finds today

Cache condition: Good condition

Found whilst working in the area for a day. In fact, parked at GZ before heading off into the scrub for so it was a simple matter to grab the cache as well. Many thanks Bert & Ammiviiccc
Very well-constructed cache.. an interesting variation of a popular hide. TFTC!
In Bathurst for a SES Competition over the weekend which ended just after lunch, wilbert67 and I decided to tick off a few caches to break up the long drive home. Not having any real plan, were lucky to be caught behind some slow trucks and have enough warning to pull over before we overshot GZ. Ended up being the last find for the trip as night, cold wind and light rain closed in but glad to have added this one to a list of memorable caches.
After a long weekend at the Bathurst showground, we still had time to pick up a few caches in Bathurst and on the way home. Together with MizMaz a fun afternoon with some good finds.

Hmmm.... the darling wife wasn't at all comfortable stopping here but thankfully the cache was found and we were safely back on our way. In retrospect we should have parked a little further up the hill than we did. Took a few minutes to find the odd man out.
