We are on our long-awaited journey around the world in 99 days. Second try after canceling in 2020.
Our third stop after Los Angeles and Hawaii is New Zealand.
This time was of course used to find some geocaches here.
Today we were searching for the Traditional **Marahau Seat (Marahau)**
Thank to the Hints and the good coordinates the little box was found quickly!
After signing the logbook there is a new smile on our geocaching map!
At least we would like to take this opportunity to thank paddle chick for creating and maintaining this Traditional.

I almost gave up when the giveaway sign of geocache location failed to reveal the treasure. However, I spotted the cache about 30 cm away, and replaced as hinted. TFTC!!
#11,295. I stayed the night in Takaka with some friends. My plans today are to cache around Golden Bay until early afternoon then head over the hill to Marahau and then south to Murchison where I am staying the night. I am now heading into the PWGT cache at Marahau. Stopped to do this one on the way. Not sure that I have been to this beach previously. Doesn't look at all familiar. The tide was out when I arrived. Nice golden sand here. Headed to GZ and looked around and soon spied the cache. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks paddle chick for hiding it here.
Any cache that has a seat to sit on and record my find gets a favourite from me. Great view on a sunny day.
There were quite a few people around today, but none so close that prevented a quick find. TFTC.
Walked along here after Dinner at the Restaurant, tide was out but of course still lovely here. Log is full. Thanks
Time for a wee family summers holiday; Kaikoura, Picton and Nelson.
After Kaikoura and Picton, time for a wee stay in Richmond with family....Mr TG grew up in Richmond. Having lunch at the nearby restaurant (sisters 50th tomorrow!). Quick find and sign....all my school camps growing up were Marahau/Totaranui & walking the able tasman track. Nice quick find here on a not too busy but hot day. Thanks.

Out doing a kayaking trip from Marahau today, enjoying the scenery and great weather.

We took the campervan out to Marehau to walk a little bit of The Able Tasman. This was our first stop on the way. It's such a beautiful day to sir and look at the activity going on.
We're on our first summer campervan trip. JDScout and I plan to do three this summer. This trip is from Christchurch to Motueka to Blenheim and back.
Thanks for hiding this cache paddle chick I appreciate it. It has helped add an extra layer of fun in our holiday.

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.
Day 12 - Labour weekend extended road trip with Kiwicampnut - relocated to stay south of the ditch.
Unlike the bench, this seat was feeling lonely. All the holiday homes closed up after the school holidays and the long weekend.
Thanks for the cache paddle chick

Oops wrong seat … was trying to be clever and not look at my phone but once I did I realised there was another seat. Duh. Soon had in hand. TFTC!
#1486. Day 4 of a 9 day caching holiday in the Tasman region with GB Leader. First stop, Nelson, for 2 days after arriving in Picton. Then on to Kaiteriteri. After doing a lunchtime Coffee cruise to Split Apple Rock, we thought we’d explore the countryside en route to Marahau. Picked up some caches along the way, and then finally, reached the start (or end) of the Abel Tasman Track. Time to pick up a couple on the way back to Kaiteri, this was the third & last before heading back to our motel.
Tftc paddle chick. Greetings from Wellington!

A quick find with SJT_NZ, after all the rain decided to head into ATNZ for a bit of a walk today. Thanks paddle chick all in good order.
A quick find with Tregearp whilst on our way out to the Able Tasman for an afternoon walk. All in good order. Thanks path chick for the cache.
Great view from here and not too many people. Lots of tractors parked up with boat trailers. Tftc
There was a lot of action out on the water this morning with boats, kayaks, SUP, and all sorts. Thanks for the placement paddle chick
Lovely tranquil spot ...love deep colour golden sand ...thanks Paddle chick..all good here
Last leg of our holiday, just booked a water taxi for tomorrows adventures. TFTF
Quick park and grab while in the area. What a fabulous little bay, great holiday spot TFTC.
We are holidaying in Nelson at present, mainly to spend time with some of Mr G’s family but hope to fit in some geocaching when we can. There are many caches around Tasman but we are focusing on a few that are special such as EarthCaches or Virtuals with particular walks and views incorporated.
Today we went with one family member to Marahau to do a little walking along the Abel Tasman. Coastal Walk, but did manage to fit in the odd geocache before we needed to head back.
This was the first, which we stopped for as we arrived at Marahau. It wasn’t quite as we’d expected, but was a pretty quick find. It’s a nice view from here - the tide was well in and it was calm. Some kayakers were enjoying a paddle. TFTC

A quick find here, the last one on a pleasant afternoon of caching around Marahau. Home to Nelson now.
Nice to be away on another geocaching trip with tmann421, travelling to a few places in the upper South Island.

*Thanks paddle chick for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!*

Weather a bit better today with only a few showers of rain
*Soon had this cache located!*

Quick find while on a winters holiday in Kaiterieri. Just about went to the wrong seat. A lovely area. Thanks for the cache
Quick find. Great day for it, lovely sea view and no wind. TFTC PaddleChick.
Today RG1972 and I went to Marahau. A first for me, I have never been here. Which is a bit odd, as I have previously found caches just a few kms down the road.
It was a great day. We loaded the bikes and parked out of town, then rode on in for a bit of casual cache collecting and to enjoy the views.
On the way out we did a loop walk that was slippery but fun, and bumped into a few friends along the way.
A fun day. Thanks all COs.

We are about to move into level 2 and caching will be allowed from midnight tonight so I'm reactivating my caches. Happy and safe caching
New Zealand is under Level 4 lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I am disabling all my caches for the meantime to remind people that we MUST break the chain of infection.
Covid-19 is now being spread within the community, person to person. We know that the virus will remain on surfaces like metal and plastic for up to 4 days.
We have only one chance to stop the Covid-19 virus spreading further. This is to BREAK the chain of infection by keeping each household separated completely. During this time each of us MUST keep isolated and only share with the people in our own household.
The best advice is to act as though you are infected... which you might be.
If you touch a cache container, you will leave viruses on the plastic, logbook and pen. Those will remain infectious for up to 4 days. Suppose some other person finds the cache tomorrow. They are likely to pick up those viruses and will get infected.
Playground equipment is out of bounds for exactly that reason- touching surfaces can spread infection.
Each of us has to do our bit to save lives. If the Covid-19 virus spreads, a lot of us will die. Maybe your grandmother, or my 9 year old neice who has who has an autoimmune disease
Stay home, stay safe, let's get to the other side of the pandemic before we go geocaching again.

On our hike along the coastal walkway this was our seventh catch for today! Thanks for the Cache!:)
After arriving in Marahau I visited some caches to have a look around. The weather was sunny and I enjoyed walking along the beach. Thanks for hiding the caches. Sometimes I found theme right away and sometimes I had to search longer.
