Found. Almost gave up but perseverance prevailed. TFTC ozglory

Find#2818Some Hunter geocachers and myself have talked for a long time about coming to Kempsey to complete the slim dusty series. We achieved this goal and also completed the Tamban Trail, the fruit and nut series and now the golfing series in town. Todays goal was to get as many in Kempsey as we could. Coordinates were off but a bit of persistence had the cache in hand. Log and cache in good condition Signed and returned as found TFTC

A road trip with my best man and his family; heading towards Kempsey with a few stops along the way, then returning via a different route and arriving home just before Christmas. Today we are on the move from Friday Creek to our new digs in Kempsey. While I have van on tow I can still stop at a couple of ones I want to snag.

The new digs is very secure but not like what we had before, Friday Creek was ace. All set up it was time to grab a couple of caches. Driving around town I came across this one. as there was no one around I thought it would be good to have a search. This was an easy find thanks.

Thanks for the cache and the hide, I signed the log and returned all as found.

I'd had a lone search earlier and no surprises, didn't find the cache. So MrG thought it would be a splendid idea to accompany me back for a second search (and probably find it in the first place he looked.)

We hadn't got into much of a search when the Band Box Theatre caretaker arrived. Being caught where we were, we possibly showed a bit more interest in the theatre than we might otherwise have and this turned out to be a very good thing. Our guided tour of the theatre showed what a stunning little gem it is. The original wallpaper, paint colours, lights, fittings and 'the best acoustics this side of Brisbane and Sydney' (sounded pretty good to us too) are a step back in time to glamourous old world theatre. No cache but well worth the visit. TFTC we didn't find ozglory.

Head got prickled by branches, berries all down my shirt and covered in leaves I left defeated after 10mins of searching.

Well, this was a refreshing change from our dismal failure at the WhereIGo down the road apiece. But only because my auto recharge on my phone had failed and I had no service - sigh!!! At least we found this one, thanks ozglory, have never been to the Bandbox before.

On a slow road trip to the Geomuster at Morisset next weekend. Staying at various towns along the way and collecting many smilies on the way.
Today we are caching around Kempsey while the weather is favourable.

There was no one a the Theater when we visited, otherwise it would have been difficult in locating the cache. TFTC

Finally time to get some caching done around Kempsey and surrounds. We enjoyed exploring the area and this was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to ozglory for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Last cache for the night at about 9:30pm before heading home to wind down and log these finds before hitting bed for tomorrow's drive.

Wow what a cute little theatre. I was surprised that they are still playing movies, and the building looks so small I wonder what the theatre inside looks like.

This was the only place the whole night which didn't look like a dead zone either. The lights were actually on and there were about 5 cars out the front! Either a very tiny theatre or just a small show up for tonights movie?

Couldn't heard noises inside but I made the find quick in case the movie was finishing, didn't want to be caught in the process! So close to the building as well.

After mistaking a beer bottle for the cache at first I quickly had it in hand.

Today we travelled to Kempsey to find a few caches and complete the Monopoly series and the golf trail.
This was our 32nd for the day, thankfully no muggles were around today, we found the cache after a short search.

Took the trip to Kempsey from Port today to collect a few caches, we were focusing mainly on the Monopoly series, but if others popped up nearby then they were fair game too.
#20 for the day... Arrived at GZ and was surprised that the hall is used for what it is.. dodged some muggles, played with some lizards, and soon signed the log... TFTC

A quick find while visiting Kempsey for the weekend thanks

Hi there ozglory.

We found your cache **"Band Box Theater"** at 10:19:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 17602).

We started the day off by nominating a cache close to our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area, even though the wind started to gust very strongly, forcing us to return to the caravan and pull in the awning and to stop our laundry from blowing away.

An added bonus was that ozglory was in town, so we met up with them for a delicious pub lunch before returning to the caravan to clean up all the wind borne dust.

We found 9 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The log book has a few loose pages.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Gee, the North Coast is really turning it on for us at the moment. Day after day of brilliant sunshine, and with the temperatures in the low 20's it's just perfect to wander around the area collecting lots of great geocaches. We really appreciate the local CO's for all their hides.
Mr Ski got muggled out this morning, but it's nice and quiet now. A simple straightforward find.

Today we took a journey to Stuart Head & South West Rocks, on the way home we stopped to find this cache. The weather had taken a turn for the better, as Bill took off wet shoes & socks I went in to make the find.
Took the wooden geocoin & Left a TB here to continue its journey.
We did not know that this hall existed.

On our way to SW Rocks and we stopped by to find this new cache which has a very interesting story behind it - however I still don't know why it is called "BandBox"? Did bands originally play in the theater in a box?
