Another quick one a rural loop of 10 finds for the day. First spot I checked. Thanks MIOW4.
Hey bud of kneeling involved to find this one and we did.
After having a rest after yesterday afternoon (i.e. sleep) we are raring to cache today. The sun is out and we are happy.
Out and about with LNM1961 revisiting Taranaki and collecting caches.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache MIOW4.

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap)... A planned expedition into the Taranaki region. All logs were signed with our individual handles, or Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa) depending on who accessed the logbook first...
King's Birthday Monday: Participating in the Taranaki Daily News Half-Marathon - The driving (caching) edition… Ran a tight line on that bend for maximum efficiency. Looking good (with both eyes) at the moment. Thanks MIOW4. TFTC.

My brain was convinced it knew where this should be, but following the gps actually helped, no surprise! The MSP half has been super driver on these, there have always been good places to stop but not really to leave the car. This series would be good by bike! Tftc
Behind which pat of the hint object please. Felt about in a couple of likely spots but the ivy made it hard going. Given I’d done some more dodgy car parking didn’t stay too long,
I was pleasantly surprised when I finally reached in to the correct spot. I was beginning to think I might not find it. TFTC
Out in the sun doing a maintenance run, replace log with a new waterproof log as well as picking up the trackable
A dot day to eliminate and after a busy day out I picked a close cache to find - this was the closest easy one and I really wanted to correct the previous DNF.
At GZ I searched between rain showers and checking previous logs for hints - ironically when I finally found the cache I think I had been parked right next to it last time. I'm very happy to have found this this time.
I left a TB too.

A bit of determination but got there in the end.
Nice geocaching adventure on labour day with Evisser8

Finally getting around to doing this Trail with the family before heading to a concert at the festival of lights. Our number 7...great coordinate's led me to it while the others were looking elsewhere. Tftc
We are doing this marathon the cheats way with wheels and in reverse. Another quick find at #3. Cheers
Day 12- Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24 December. Around New Plymouth again today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Day twelve of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is wandering about New Plymouth. Merry Christmas!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

As I was signing the log for this cache the biker muggle that I saw earlier whizzed past me. I am glad that the rain has stayed away this morning.

Onto the marathon loop, a nice circuit for the evening and hence a cookie cutter log.
Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with Karma Reprint, Team Gators and TheWanglers and to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2
Cheers MIOW4 for the cache

Day two Hawera to New Plymouth via Opunake
Great to be out and about, find quickly made. A nice wee trail to round off the evening. Cheers
A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team_Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 2: Today was a long day in the car 14 hours or so to our home for the night and then an hour or two after dinner before having a beer at the campground. We started in Hawera and went the long way around the coast with many detours. The history was amazing and the the lack of irrigation was very noticable to us Cantabrians. We once again missed the horrible weather!
Lovely wee trail. Good work, parking was good.
Thanks for the cache MIOW4.

Find 76 of 80 for today.
Find 156 of 224 for the trip.

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Day 2 dawned with a bit of drizzle but that soon cleared (whilst eating breakfast) and we had a lovely trip missing all the bad weather again. Harwea to New Plymouth the long way. Heaps of history; cool scenery and lots of laughs. Cheers all!

Parked a little up from GZ and the sprogs went for a run back - found it easy enough. Tftc!
A dot day that needed a smiley and this series has been very useful for that purpose. Thanks.

Day Five of a 12 day, 3000 km road trip around the North Island with the primary objectives being the Taupo Ultra Marathon on the 13th and my first ever caching Mega event in Wellington on the weekend of 20th & 21st. With thousands of possibilities for caches to look for on the way, I had to be very selective and decided to concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, ones that would fill missing spots in my statistics grids and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close by those.
Today was spent in and around New Plymouth and although the weather was a bit cloudy and windy, there was no sign of rain to interfere with caching activities.
Heading back to our accommodation now and realised we need to make a loop around the outskirts to get back to Hurdon. This series of half marathon related caches appealed to the runner in me, so stopped off to look for some of them. This one was a quick find. TFTC

A quick find on the way back out from town to my daughter's house - I'm currently down for a couple of weeks doing nana duty... great fun and nice to fit in a few caches. TFTC
Me and scoria were out caching today working on collecting points towards the planetary explorer mission souvenirs.
I am heading to New Plymouth to today to spend Tuesday hunting for caches in the Bell Block area.
Light fading when we started this
Quick park and grab

On our way up to new plymouth to cap off the Easter weekend and boost planetary Explorer points.
After collecting a few on the way we now find ourselves doing this little run as we lose the day light.
Darkness now slowing us down a little.
Cheers.

Picked up the boys from the mountain bike park and hubby drove while I made the finds, we found some spots really hard to pull over and in most cases parked in drive ways and walked back, the road was pretty quite which was a big help. Thanks for the placement. - last finder dropped a pen so added it to the cache
Oh my god. I have never heard the cows moooo so loud like when I went out from the car probably they did not like me. Thank you nice and big one.
Out sailing alone on the last week of the Mary Hyde Challange, grabbed my navigator and the geohound for the 5 cache minimum for the week. This mini trail needs a bit of interpretation with the co-ords being a bit out on my Phone. Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap. Thanks for the cache from Blenheim Bear!

I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is eleven but seeing that it is a nice I decided to get a few more.
In: TB.
Cheers for the cache.

I was driving home from new Plymouth after visiting Mum in Law and checking on organization for 90th birthday and i thought i would leave early and do a detour around these caches before heading south. all was well here, so i hoped the rest of this series would follow the same pattern which they did all except one which was a did not find unfortunately. after doing this circuit and heading back towards town before turning back on to highway south i had a pleasant trip back to palm. North. Thank you for these caches and smiley faces.
While in the area today we and extended geocaching family started on this series. I was was a participant in the first half marathon and did them every year for about 15 years so I remember grunting up all the hills and the first time every time I saw a hill I thought oh no not another hill so I wes pleased to get to the top and have a down hill run most of the way home.
Many thanks for placing these

A quick look over and then a reach through and had a nice sized cache in hand. SL TFTC.
On the way to blackberrying... thanks for this series of caches! Nice quick and easy!
My boy is rocking it today. Mind you these are quite easy. Good for a Sunday arvo!
Still climbing and walked straight passed turned around and made a quick find TFTC
Aha! A good-sized cache for a TB at last. Will leave the rest of the half-marathon for another day. TFTC again
Found today with Duckfinder123 on a geocaching adventure. Thanks for the cache.
A quick hunt amongst the trees and cache found. Had a chat with a friendly farmer who was wondering what was up with all the cars stopping. TFTC.
Nice find. Local farmer stopped to check the commotion this spot has been generating so educated him on cache hunting!
