The site has been completely changed and the original hide location won't work out any more.
Although the cache is currently disabled, it wasn't clear if it had actually been removed. As we were passing, and as refurbishment looks to have finished, we thought it might be worth a look, but didn't manage to find anything. TFTC
I have an alert on my phone to let me know when there are airfares from Wellington to anywhere for under $20. A few months ago I booked a return ticket to Gisborne for today... $19 each way. My plan is to find as many caches as I can and then head home to the Hutt Valley in time for dinner. A great plan if you ask me!
The weather played its part too. It was forecast for cold with a few showers but it turned out fine and reasonably warm. However, it was even better in Wellington today according to the news tonight.
I had a great day. Unfortunately, many of the caches I looked for were in need of maintenance and some were impossible for me to find.
This cache is in good condition. All nice and dry. It took me a while to find it because I was looking for the wrong size cache. However, persistence paid off and I found it in the end.
The view from up here was very nice. I took a few minutes to stand there and admire it. There were quite a few other people up there who seemed to be doing the same thing... admiring the view, that it.
Thank you

We are spending a couple of nights in Gisborne, after making a spur of the moment decision to get the FTF on the new Virtual, and to collect the CANZ Gisborne cache. Last night we ticked off the first goal, and the morning we are on our way to the second. But first we stopped by to admire the view and to visit En Garde! As so often happens, the cache was found in one of the last possible places. Thanks for placing this one here.
Decided that since I had an extra day off work I would come up to Gisborne and visit family as I was in the Hawkes Bay for work and it wasnt too far to travel the extra distance and it also gave me the chance to pick up a few caches in this lovely community.
After finding GC7GTXW - Hard Rock Greens (Gisborne), I decided that I would go for a short drive up to the top of Kaiti Hill as I always try to take the opportunity to at least come up here once every time that I am in Gisborne so I can take in the views of Gisborne and it surrounds.
The drive up the Kaiti Hill was as pleasant as always and I really love coming up here, it really didnt take too long before I was at the lookout spot and I took a few minutes to take in the views before I decided that I would go and try and find this cache.
The walk over to GZ didnt take too long and I decided that I would go up and check the most obvious spots but after a short search I decided that I would go and check out a couple of other spots and soon had the cache in hand, signed and replaced the cache back as found.
Thanks Skyuni123 for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13179). Decided to take a few photos before making my way down the hill.

In Gisborne for my first work trip to the area for the year. Nice to see some new caches published since my last trip in November last year. Usually when I arrive in Gisborne, I have an evening meeting so today it was quite a change to arrive and have a free evening ahead of me. What to do, what to do? A bit of caching of course!
Drove carefully up Kaiti Hill to avoid the multitude of afterword walkers using the track to get fit. Made it safely to the top and it wasn’t long until the nano cache was spotted. TFTC

Found after getting myself up the hill on my bike (pushing)! The heat! The view! All worth it of course. One has to wonder what use one gun might have been if Gisborne was invaded, especially with just one practise shot. All very interesting, and the shade of the emplacement really appreciated of course. TFTC
On a cruise around NZ from Melbourne, Australia. Nice, easy find. TFTC
We decided after doing a few caches in town to drive up Kaiti and have a cup of tea and admire the view. We got there and put the kettle on while I went to get the cache. There was no one around when we arrived but by the time I had walked to GZ there was four cars. Thankfully the young one's were not interested in me but I still had to take the cache back to the bus because I could not find my TOTT!!! TFTC
Nice quick find. Remembered a pencil this time. Just in Gisborne for the night so lucky me.
Came for a look and thought there must be a cache up here and sure enough. TFTC
1st visit to Gisborne. Was told by a friend to check out the view from Kaiti hill. Was glad to see cache up here. TFTC.
No, let me guess, these Gisborne caches are just significantly harder than the Hawke's Bay caches, aren't they?

While enjoying the wonderful view from up here we had a hunt for the cache. Did take the long way to find but got there in the end. Thanks for the cache
Found this on a school holiday road trip around the north island. Gisborne is an amazing place, and the view from this cache is beautiful. Sorry for the late log, just catching up now! Thank you for the cache, took a while to locate as workers building a fence nearby were hanging around! TFTC.
Nice morning stroll around Kaiti Hill to gun emplacement. Took a few minutes to track it down but we got there eventually.
Found with Barnard Star.

Today I spent some hours in the nice town of Gisborne and I was on the Titirangi Hill too.
I searched for this little one a long time... actually I was at a too high area... I nearly gave up, so I was really happy that I found it in the end!
TFTC & hello from Austria,
